Speed Reduction Mitigation Strategies on Rural Highways at Two-Way Stop Control Intersections and Curves

Studies conducted on crashes at rural intersections of state highways and local roads/streets with two-way stop control have proved that the problem was likely poor judgment by the stopped driver on the minor approach of the speed of an oncoming vehicle and/or safe gap in traffic on the major highway. Several mitigating strategies have been suggested and studied in various studies to improve safety at the two-way stop control rural intersections and at other rural highway segments. There are also several low-cost techniques used, mostly in foreign countries, to slow drivers on major highways as they enter small towns and villages, e.g., narrowing pavement lines, establishing visual gateways, etc. Lowered speeds would decrease crash severity. In this study, four strategies including solar speed display units, mobile speed trailers, optical speed bars, and colored pavement were tested and assessed in some locations in Kansas. The results of this research indicate that both solar speed display units and mobile speed trailers are effective in speed reduction at the desired points, but optical speed bars and colored pavements do not yield reliable results. Additional studies and longer term studies, should be conducted. 展开更多

A joint power control and relay selection scheme is considered for a cooperative and cognitive radio system where a secondary network shares spectrum with the primary network. In the secondary network, two secondary users (SUs) communicate with each other via an assist relay. The main point is to provide the best system performance to SUs while maintaining the interference power at primary user (PU) under a certain level. Using convex optimization, a closed-form solution is obtained when optimizing the power allocation among the two nodes and relay. Based on this result, a joint power control and relay selection scheme with fewer variable dimensions is proposed to maximize the achievable rate of the secondary system. Simulation results demonstrate that the sum rate of the cognitive two-way relay network increases compared with a random relay selection and fixed power allocation. 展开更多

This stop process is divided into stages of energy feedback and energy consumption. The DC voltage controller is coordinated to the used modules per phase when active power is transmitted prior to reactive power, so that the energy is fed back to the AC power grid connected to the converter station which uses the fixed dc voltage controller. In addition, in view of the different forms connected to the grid, specifically when the converter station supplies power for passive network, the passive converter station can take a certain auxiliary trigger strategy to make its maximum energy feedback to the grid. Finally, a simulation system of the MMC-HVDC system is constructed in Matlab/Simulink environment, and simulation results show that the proposed stop strategies are effective. 展开更多

水库连通工程取水口因水位变幅大、水流双向、运行方式受管道糙率影响导致取水口水力特性复杂。以公明—清林径水库连通工程为研究对象,采用水力学计算与物理模型试验方法对双向输水取水口和分层控流取水口的水力特性开展研究。研究结... 水库连通工程取水口因水位变幅大、水流双向、运行方式受管道糙率影响导致取水口水力特性复杂。以公明—清林径水库连通工程为研究对象,采用水力学计算与物理模型试验方法对双向输水取水口和分层控流取水口的水力特性开展研究。研究结果表明:(1)糙率增大,工程输水能力降低、洞线水头损失增大,影响进水口的水流衔接方式与输水调度方案。(2)双向输水取水口在进流时流速较小,无不良流态产生,出流时出流顺畅;流道沿程压力分布正常。(3)分层控流取水口在闸门控泄时闸后自由射流冲击消能井壁,水流在下游隧洞平面转弯处产生封洞水跃,提出了可行的工程与运行调度措施加以避免。(4)水库连通工程运行条件复杂,工程运行后应根据监测资料反演主线隧洞的实际糙率,调整水力控制方式。研究成果可为类似调水工程取水口的设计和调度运行提供参考。 展开更多

功能性踝关节不稳和健康人群运动疲劳前后急停侧切运动的生物力学分析

背景:全身性疲劳能够增加功能性踝关节不稳的损伤风险,同时急停侧切是踝关节损伤的高风险因素,目前全身性运动疲劳对功能性踝关节不稳人群急停侧切的生物力学机制尚未清晰。目的:量化功能性踝关节不稳者和健康人群在运动疲劳前后进行急... 背景:全身性疲劳能够增加功能性踝关节不稳的损伤风险,同时急停侧切是踝关节损伤的高风险因素,目前全身性运动疲劳对功能性踝关节不稳人群急停侧切的生物力学机制尚未清晰。目的:量化功能性踝关节不稳者和健康人群在运动疲劳前后进行急停侧切的运动学和动力学特征差异,揭示运动疲劳对功能性踝关节不稳者急停侧切的影响。方法:招募15名单侧功能性踝关节不稳受试者与15名健康受试者,均为男性,采集两组受试者运动疲劳前后急停侧切动作中的运动学(踝关节背屈、踝关节跖屈、踝关节内翻、膝关节屈曲、膝关节内翻、膝关节外翻、髋关节屈曲与髋关节外展角度峰值)和动力学(髋、膝、踝关节刚度)参数,采用双因素重复测量方差分析对关节角度峰值、关节刚度等指标进行统计分析;同时,利用统计参数映射法进一步分析运动疲劳对两组受试者踝关节角度与地面反作用力时间序列数据的影响。结果与结论:①运动学特征:双因素重复测量方差分析显示,踝关节内翻角度峰值、膝关节屈曲角度峰值、膝关节外翻角度峰值及髋关节屈曲角度峰值均存在显著的疲劳主效应和组间交互效应(P<0.05)。与运动疲劳前相比,功能性踝关节不稳组运动疲劳后的踝关节内翻角度峰值增加(P<0.05),两组运动疲劳后的膝关节屈曲角度峰值增加(P<0.05),健康对照组运动疲劳后的髋关节屈曲角度显著增加(P<0.05)。运动疲劳后,功能性踝关节不稳组踝关节内翻角度峰值与髋关节屈曲角度峰值小于健康对照组(P<0.05),膝关节外翻角度峰值与膝关节屈曲角度峰值大于健康对照组(P<0.05)。统计参数映射分析显示,功能性踝关节不稳组运动疲劳后侧切运动4%-18%阶段的踝关节内外翻角度峰值大于疲劳前(P<0.05)。②动力学特征:双因素重复测量方差分析显示,髋关节、膝关节和踝关节刚度均表现出显著的疲劳主效应与组别交互效应(P<0.05)。与运动疲劳前相比,健康对照组运动疲劳后的髋关节刚度、踝关节刚度下降(P<0.05),功能性踝关节不稳组运动疲劳后的膝关节刚度、踝关节刚度下降(P<0.05)。统计参数映射分析显示,功能性踝关节不稳组运动疲劳后侧切运动5%-16%阶段的垂直方向地面反作用力大于疲劳前(P<0.05),侧切运动35%-49%阶段的左右方向地面反作用力大于疲劳前(P<0.05)。③结果表明,运动疲劳改变了功能性踝关节不稳人群急停侧切动作中的运动学和动力学特征,尤其影响了膝关节和踝关节的稳定性和缓冲能力,疲劳降低了关节刚度和控制力、增加了损伤风险,尤其在侧切运动的初期和过渡阶段。 展开更多

直吹式制粉系统自启停系统的开发与应用

Ultrasonic vibration feeding(UVF) method which can quantitatively feed and precisely deposit fine powder is a potential technique for micro feeding.The excitation sources transmit vibration to capillary though the third medium for most UVF devices.The vibrator is directly touched with the capillary can transmit mechanical energy on the capillary as much as possible,and the powder feeding can be controlled more precise.However,there are few reports about it.A direct UVF system which integrates the function of micro feeding,process observing,and powder forming was developed in this work.In order to analyze the effect of the system factors on feeding,a group of L9(3^3) orthogonal experiments are selected to confirm the effect of level change of factors.The three factors are capillary nozzle diameter,amplitude and signal.The flow rate was stable for each combined factors,and the optimum combination for the minimum flow rate are choosing small capillary,small amplitude,and triangular wave orderly.The whole process of feeding includes start point,middle stage and stop stage.Starting of feeding was synchronized to vibration when the amplitude of capillary nozzle is larger than critical amplitude.Then,the feeding process enters the middle stage,the feeding state is observed by the CCD,and it is very stable in the middle stage.Overflow of feeding can't be eliminated during the stop stage.The features of the deposited powder lines are analyzed; the overflow can be diminished by choosing small capillary and appropriate ratio of the capillary nozzle diameter to the particle size.Chinese characters lattices were deposited to validate the ability of quantitatively feeding and fixed feeding of UVF.Diameters of all powder dots show normal distribution,and more than 60% dots are concentrated from 550 μm to 650 μm,and the average diameter for all the dots is 597 μm.Most dots positions are well approached to their scheduled positions,and the maximum deviation is 0.27 mm.The new direct UVF system is used to implement experiments,which confirms the precise controllable of feeding.According improve the feeding technique,it suits well for rapid prototyping,chemistry,pharmaceutics and many other fields,which require precise measurement and feed minim powder. 展开更多

Purpose:The purpose of present study was to investigate the impact of sport experience on response inhibition and response re-engagement in expert badminton athletes during the stop-signal task and change-signal task.Methods:A total of 19 badminton athletes and 20 nonathletes performed both the stop-signal task and change-signal task.Reaction times(RTs)and event-related potentials were recorded and analyzed.Results:Behavioral results indicated that badminton athletes responded faster than nonathletes to go stimuli and to change signals,with faster change RTs and change-signal RTs,which take into consideration the variable stimulus onset time mean.During successful change trials in the change-signal task,the amplitudes of the event-related potential components N2 and P3 were smaller for badminton athletes than for nonathletes.Moreover,change-signal RTs and N2 amplitudes as well as change RTs and P3 amplitudes were significantly correlated in badminton athletes.A significant correlation was also found between the amplitude of the event-related potential component N1 and response accuracy to change signals in badminton athletes.Conclusion:Moderation of brain cortical activity in badminton athletes was more associated with their ability to rapidly inhibit a planned movement and re-engage with a new movement compared with nonathletes.The superior inhibitory control and more efficient neural mechanisms in badminton athletes compared with nonathletes might be a result of badminton athletes’ professional training experience. 展开更多

Aiming at the energy consumption of long-distance device-to-device(D2D) devices for two-way communications in a cellular network,this paper proposes a strategy that combines two-way relay technology(TWRT) and simultaneous wireless information and power transfer(SWIPT) technology to achieve high energy efficiency(EE) communication.The scheme first establishes a fractional programming problem to maximize EE of D2D,and transforms it into a non-fractional optimization problem that can be solved easily.Then the problem is divided into three sub-problems:power control,power splitting ratios optimization,and relay selection.In order to maximize EE of the D2D pair,the Dinkelbach iterative algorithm is used to optimize the transmitted power of two D2D devices simultaneously;the one-dimensional search algorithm is proposed to optimize power splitting ratios;an improved optimal relay selection scheme based on EE is proposed to select relay.Finally,experiments are carried out on the Matlab simulation platform.The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has faster convergence.Compared with the one-way relay transmission and fixed relay algorithms,the proposed scheme has higher EE. 展开更多

为使超临界二氧化碳(supercritical carbon dioxide,S-CO_(2))发电系统启停兼具安全性与快速性,该文针对600 MW S-CO_(2)再压缩循环发电系统,提出一种两段式的热态启停控制策略。两阶段分别利用阀门联合库存控制负荷策略和改变透平入口... 为使超临界二氧化碳(supercritical carbon dioxide,S-CO_(2))发电系统启停兼具安全性与快速性,该文针对600 MW S-CO_(2)再压缩循环发电系统,提出一种两段式的热态启停控制策略。两阶段分别利用阀门联合库存控制负荷策略和改变透平入口温度控制负荷策略来实现。并提出系统各设备依次冷态启停的实施方案。利用该文提出的启停控制策略,实现600 MW S-CO_(2)再压缩循环发电系统的启停过程。对系统启停过程的安全指标:压缩机喘振裕度、加热器最低流量、管壁温变化速率、工质高低压进行检验,所有安全指标均可得到满足。停机过程所花时间为1.11 h;启动过程所花时间为1.09 h,与文献相比,启动时长缩短0.57 h,停机时长缩短0.83 h,证明该文所设计启停控制策略的合理性和有效性。 展开更多
