The simul...The finite element method(FEM)is used for simulation of the tube piercing process in Mannesmann mill.The numerical model is described with taking into consideration thermal phenomena in metal during forming. The simulated results visualize dynamic distributions of mean stresses,temperature,velocity and shear stresses, especially inside the workpiece.On the basis of the basic parameters,the phenomenon in the piercing process is analyzed.The model is verified by comparing the values of calculated force parameters of the piercing process and those measured in laboratory conditions.展开更多

In the experimental range, the boiling heat transfer coefficients of R134a on a T-MPPS tube were 1.8-2.0 times larger than those of R134a on a plain tube. In addition, the developed experimental correlations verified that the predictions of the heat transfer coefficients of boiling R134a and R142bon a T-MPPS tube at the experimental conditions were considerably accurate.展开更多

Based on the shooted photos and recorded temperatures, the formation/decomposition process of HCFC141b are described, some characteristics are concluded, and some suggestions of designing heat exchanger are indicated according to the specific characteristics of HCFC141b gas hydrate formation/decomposition process.展开更多

It was found that two distinct microstructures, i.e. (Pd,Au)3Si primary phase and Pd+(Pd,Au)3Si eutectic c...The microstructure development of Pd77.5Au6Si16.5 alloy droplet solidified in a drop tube process was studied. It was found that two distinct microstructures, i.e. (Pd,Au)3Si primary phase and Pd+(Pd,Au)3Si eutectic can be obtained when the droplet diameter is within the range between 2.3~0.4 mm. The morpologies of the (Pd,Au)3Si developed from dendrite trunk-like with single branching only into dendrite cluster-like with ternary branching with the decrease of the droplet diameter. When the droplet diameter is about 0.25 mm, the primary phase (Pd,Au)3Si almost disappears and the microstructure mainly shows Pd+(Pd,Au)3Si eutectic. The morphology of the eutectic transforms from fiber-like to plate-like with the decrease of the droplet diameter in the range between 2.3-0.25 mm. When the droplet diameter is about 0.19 mm, the microstructure is only the single phase of Pd solid solution展开更多

Applying this constitutive equation in commercial FEM software of MSC/SuperForm 20...Based on test data from the hot forge experiments on Gleeble 1500, a Kumar type constitutive equation for 33Mn2V steel is established. Applying this constitutive equation in commercial FEM software of MSC/SuperForm 2005, the piercing process of 33Mn2V steel in Mannesmann mill is then simulated. The modeling results visualized the dynamic evolution of equivalent stress, especially inside the workpieee. It is shown that the non-uniform distribu- tion of stress on the internal and external surface of the workpiece is a distinct characteristic of processing tube pierc- ing. The numerical model was verified by comparing the values of calculated force parameters of the piercing process with those measured in laboratory eonditions. And it shows that the Kumar-type constitutive relationship meets the practical needs.展开更多
The filling and exhausting processes in a pneumatic system are involved with many factors, and numerical solutions of many partial differential equations are always adapted in the study of those processes, which have ...The filling and exhausting processes in a pneumatic system are involved with many factors, and numerical solutions of many partial differential equations are always adapted in the study of those processes, which have been proved to be troublesome and less intuitive. Analytical solutions based on loss-less tube model and average friction tube model are found respectively by using fluid net theory, and they fit the experimental results well. The research work shows that: Fluid net theory can be used to solve the analytical solution of filling and exhausting processes of pneumatic system, and the result of loss-less tube model is close to that of average friction model, so loss-less tube model is recommended since it is simpler, and the difference between filling time and exhausting time is determined by initial and final pressures, the volume of container and the section area of tube, and has nothing to do with the length of the tube.展开更多
