Trichromatic color tuning strategy for emission of heterometallic Eu^(Ⅲ)/Tb^(Ⅲ)coordination polymers with triazolyl-substituted 4-methyl-phenoxo ligand

This study presents the microwave-assisted synthesis and characterization of a series of heterometal lic coordination polymers(HMCPs)with a 4-methyl-2,6-di[(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)]phenoxo ligand with varying Eu^(Ⅲ)/Tb^(Ⅲ)ratios.Single crystal X-ray diffraction reveals a double-chain structure bridged by triazolyl groups.Powder X-ray diffraction confirms the isostructural nature of the synthesized HMCPs.The photophysical properties depend on lanthanide ion concentration and excitation wavelength,leading to a color shift from green to blue as the proportion of Tb^(Ⅲ)decreases and Eu^(Ⅲ)increases.White light generation is achieved in the 8/2 Eu^(Ⅲ)/Tb^(Ⅲ)HMCP(CIE:0.293,0.326)under 335 nm excitation.The study suggests energy transfer from Tb^(Ⅲ)to Eu^(Ⅲ),but both experimental and theoretical calculations indicate that this transfer is orders of magnitude lower than the sensitization through ligand states. 展开更多

A novel single color camera trichromatic mask 3D-PIV technique suitable for measurement of complex flow fields in confined spaces is presented in this paper.By using a trichromatic mask to modulate the imaging optical path of a color camera,the RGB(Red,Green,and Blue)channels of the photosensitive chip were used to record full-frame full-resolution images of tracer particles from three viewing angles.The MLOS-SMART particle reconstruction algorithm was used to obtain three-dimensional particle distribution matrix from particle trichromatic mask images.The impact of parameters such as the inter-hole spacing and hole diameter of the trichromatic mask on the quality of particle reconstruction was analyzed.Through numerical simulation experiments on artificially synthesized three-dimensional flow fields of Gaussian vortex rings,the practicality of this technique in measuring three-dimensional transient velocity fields and the accuracy of velocity measurements were examined.The accuracy and feasibility of the technique are illustrated based on experimental measurements of a zero-net-mass-flux jet. 展开更多

The luminescence properties of CaBPO 5: Eu, Tb phosphor and the sensitization of Ce 3+ were investigated. The CaBPO 5: Eu, Tb phosphors were synthesized in the ambient air and the emission spectra of Eu 3+ , Tb 3+ and Eu 2+ were observed in the phosphor. The result shows that there is electron transfer between conjugate rare earth ions. Sensitization of Ce 3+ can improve the intensity of emission of Tb 3+ and Eu 2+ . A novel trichromatic lamp phosphor codoped with Eu 3+ Tb 3+ in matrix CaBPO 5 is then predicted. 展开更多

The process described here is well at the heart of the appearance of pigmentary materials and their interactions with light. It is indeed based on the property of colored materials to reflect, in a selective way, the colored radiations of light. The innovation is here based on a more subtle and more complete process, using the trichromy, i.e., all the possibilities of the white light, which is split in three primary radiations: red^een--blue. One can, indeed, animate a pigmentary surface by the alternate projection of these three colors, and thus reveal three different images on the same support, or create a motion effect. However, in this process, the weakness of bhie, compared to green and red, might constitute an obstacle. But that will be compensated by the use of fluorescent colors, instead of ordinary colors. This process may provide very spectacular applications in the fields of lighting, architecture, design, scenography, booths, display windows, etc.. We shall propose a step-to-step approach. 展开更多

Considering their oriented crystalline structure and high luminescent efficiency,the exploration of multi-component organic cocrystal systems with tunable supramolecular nanostructures and potential RGB light emission has emerged as a captivating but challenging subject.Here,we propose a straightforward synthetic strategy to precisely govern the assembly,structure and structure-property relationship of organic cocrystals.By employing the single-crystalline template-assisted epitaxial growth(SCT-EG)method,the two-dimensional(2D)highly-aligned cocrystal nanomeshes are firstly developed to afford an exceptional RGB trichromatic system,triggering cross-modulation white light emission(WLE)with remarkable stability and regeneration capacity over six months.The transformation from random 1D microstructures to uniformly-oriented 2D nanomeshes can be attributed to the regulatory competitive intermolecularπ-π,CT interactions,and partial H bond interactions among cocrystals.Moreover,the successful construction of 2D RGB trichromatic cocrystal nanomeshes system holds promise to generate full-color display,which can function as multicolor inks for photonic dynamic recognition,information encryption,and decryption. 展开更多

Red tinted contact lenses on Ishihara test error scores in color deficient subjects:a pilot study

AIM:To compare the Ishihara test errors scores of colour vision deficiency(CVD)subjects when wearing four different types of red-tinted contact lenses(RCL)that differ in their transmittance as determined using a spectrophotometer.METHODS:Six congenital CVD subjects volunteered to participate in this study.Ishihara plates were used to determine the colour vision errors made,whereas Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue test was conducted to determine the total error scores(TES)and type of CVD.Four types of RCL(Types A,B,C and D)were inserted in the non-dominant eye and tested in a randomised manner by a masked operator.Errors scores in Ishihara test were determined at baseline without any contact lens and after wearing the four different RCL.The subjects were then divided into two groups based on the mean TES.RESULTS:Repeated measures ANOVA with Greenhouse-Geisser corrections showed that there was a highly significant effect of RCL type on Ishihara error score[F(2.056,10.282)=30.214,P<0.001].Error scores with RCL Type B were significantly lower than errors made when no lens was worn,and with RCL Type C and Type D(all P<0.001).Error scores with RCL Type B were also lower than those made with RCL Type A,however,they were not significantly different.For subjects with TES values less than 180,RCL type B showed the largest improvement in Ishihara error score(50%)compared to the other three RCLs.RCL type A showed the best performance in TES value of more than 180,with an improvement of 80%in Ishihara score.RCL Type A has the lowest transmittance at the confusion wavelength(450-568 nm),followed by RCL Types B,D and C.CONCLUSION:This study shows that RCL can improve Ishihara error scores.RCL with lower transmission at 450-568 nm and 90%transmittance beyond 637 nm are the most effective.Lenses which could block more light between 550-580 nm are more effective for colour defectives with more severe colour defects. 展开更多
