Reactive transport modeling(RTM)is an emerging method used to address geological issues in diagenesis research.However,the extrapolation of RTM results to practical reservoir prediction is not sufficiently understood....Reactive transport modeling(RTM)is an emerging method used to address geological issues in diagenesis research.However,the extrapolation of RTM results to practical reservoir prediction is not sufficiently understood.This paper presents a case study of the Eocene Qaidam Basin that combines RTM results with petrological and mineralogical evidence.The results show that the Eocene Xiaganchaigou Formation is characterized by mixed siliciclastic-carbonate-evaporite sedimentation in a semiclosed saline lacustrine environment.Periodic evaporation and salinization processes during the syngeneticpenecontemporaneous stage gave rise to the replacive genesis of dolomites and the cyclic enrichment of dolomite in the middle-upper parts of the meter-scale depositional sequences.The successive change in mineral paragenesis from terrigenous clastics to carbonates to evaporites was reconstructed using RTM simulations.Parametric uncertainty analyses further suggest that the evaporation intensity(brine salinity)and particle size of sediments(reactive surface area)were important rate-determining factors in the dolomitization,as shown by the relatively higher reaction rates under conditions of higher brine salinity and fine-grained sediments.Combining the simulation results with measured mineralogical and reservoir physical property data indicates that the preservation of original intergranular pores and the generation of porosity via replacive dolomitization were the major formation mechanisms of the distinctive lacustrine dolomite reservoirs(widespread submicron intercrystalline micropores)in the Eocene Qaidam Basin.The results confirm that RTM can be effectively used in geological studies,can provide a better general understanding of the dolomitizing fluid-rock interactions,and can shed light on the spatiotemporal evolution of mineralogy and porosity during dolomitization and the formation of lacustrine dolomite reservoirs.展开更多
The elliptic azimuthal anisotropy coefficient(v_(2))of the identified particles at midrapidity(|η|<0.8)was investigated in p-Pb collisions at√s_(NN)=5.02 TeV using a multi-phase transport model(AMPT).The calculat...The elliptic azimuthal anisotropy coefficient(v_(2))of the identified particles at midrapidity(|η|<0.8)was investigated in p-Pb collisions at√s_(NN)=5.02 TeV using a multi-phase transport model(AMPT).The calculations of differential v_(2)based on the advanced flow extraction method of light flavor hadrons(pions,kaons,protons,andΛ)in small collision systems were extended to a wider transverse momentum(p_(T))range of up to 8 GeV/c for the first time.The string-melting version of the AMPT model provides a good description of the measured p_(T)-differential v_(2)of the mesons but exhibits a slight deviation from the baryon v_(2).In addition,we observed the features of mass ordering at low p_(T)and the approximate number-of-constituentquark(NCQ)scaling at intermediate p_(T).Moreover,we demonstrate that hadronic rescattering does not have a significant impact on v_(2)in p-Pb collisions for different centrality selections,whereas partonic scattering dominates in generating the elliptic anisotropy of the final particles.This study provides further insight into the origin of collective-like behavior in small collision systems and has referential value for future measurements of azimuthal anisotropy.展开更多
Transport analysis and impact evaluations are important input for decisions about infrastructure projects.The impacts on transport from fjord crossing tunnels or bridges are the foundation for the cost benefit analysi...Transport analysis and impact evaluations are important input for decisions about infrastructure projects.The impacts on transport from fjord crossing tunnels or bridges are the foundation for the cost benefit analysis,and also the basis for estimating the income from toll collection.Based on experiences from concept evaluations of several fixed link projects on E39,and an ongoing overall analysis,we question the results from transport analysis made by the official tools for such analysis:the RTM(regional transport model)which estimates the demand for trips below 10 km,the NTM(national transport model),for trips of 10 km or more,and the freight transport model.Both the NTM and the freight transport model are integrated in the RTM in the net assignment stage.We will demonstrate strengths and weaknesses in the transport models by showing contra intuitive or questionable results using the model as it is.The following questions arose as the initial results from the transport model were presented:Are the transport models able to capture immediate as well as long-term impacts?How would different assumptions about the monetary costs on these projects affect the forecasted demand and the cost benefit analysis?Are there other and wider ranges of impacts,if the analysis covers the total coastal highway as a whole,compared to evaluating impacts of each fixed link project individually?Do we have enough data to include transport effects of wider impacts of the fixed link projects?We had to deal with these questions in the concept evaluations carried out for the various fixed links project and in the current overall evaluation.We would like to suggest improvements in the analysis tools and emphasize requirements for knowledge about impacts of fixed links projects.展开更多

The output of a land use model can serve as a major input to a transportation model; conversely, transportation model output can provide a critical input to a land use model. The connection between the two models can be achieved by an accessibility measure. This paper presents an iterative approach to solving a regression-based land use model and a transportation model with combined trip distribution- assignment. A case study using data from a small urban area is presented to illustrate the application of the proposed modeling framework. Tests show that the procedures can converge, and the modeling framework can be a valuable tool for planners and decision-makers in evaluating land use policies and transportation investment strategies.展开更多
A two-stage algorithm based on deep learning for the detection and recognition of can bottom spray codes and numbers is proposed to address the problems of small character areas and fast production line speeds in can ...A two-stage algorithm based on deep learning for the detection and recognition of can bottom spray codes and numbers is proposed to address the problems of small character areas and fast production line speeds in can bottom spray code number recognition.In the coding number detection stage,Differentiable Binarization Network is used as the backbone network,combined with the Attention and Dilation Convolutions Path Aggregation Network feature fusion structure to enhance the model detection effect.In terms of text recognition,using the Scene Visual Text Recognition coding number recognition network for end-to-end training can alleviate the problem of coding recognition errors caused by image color distortion due to variations in lighting and background noise.In addition,model pruning and quantization are used to reduce the number ofmodel parameters to meet deployment requirements in resource-constrained environments.A comparative experiment was conducted using the dataset of tank bottom spray code numbers collected on-site,and a transfer experiment was conducted using the dataset of packaging box production date.The experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this study can effectively locate the coding of cans at different positions on the roller conveyor,and can accurately identify the coding numbers at high production line speeds.The Hmean value of the coding number detection is 97.32%,and the accuracy of the coding number recognition is 98.21%.This verifies that the algorithm proposed in this paper has high accuracy in coding number detection and recognition.展开更多

Considering these factors, this research aims to propose an algorithm “Incessant Allocation Method” to obtain an initial basic feasible solution for the transportation problems. The Four-Step model of transportation planning and modal choice provided the theoretical basis for this study. A survey research design involving a stratified sampling technique was adopted. The descriptives on transport modes, amount and time spent revealed that 10 (76.9%) males and 3 (23.1%) females preferred bicycle as means of transportation, 7 (58.3%) males and 5 (41.7%) females preferred motorcycle, while a significant proportion 90 (53.9%) males and 77 (46.1%) females preferred tricycle, 80 (63.0%) males and 47 (37.0%) females preferred cars/taxis, and 12 (46.2%) males and 14 (53.8%) females preferred mass transit bus. However, 14 (46.7%) males and 16 (53.3%) females in marshy terrain and coastal locations preferred canoes and boats. The result of the logistic regression model revealed that gender modal preference is more likely to be influenced by mode of transportation with a beta weight of 1.140, safety considerations 1.139, ownership of transport 1.135 and distance to place of work 1.073. Hence, this study recommends that a combination of these factors should be incorporated into transport planning to achieve effective transport planning and sustainable development in the Yenagoa metropolis.展开更多

This pape...Rail systems are gradually becoming the most desirable form of transit infrastructure around the world, partly because they are becoming more environmentally friendly compared with airplanes and automobiles. This paper examines the place of emerging countries in this move of implementing modern rail system that will eventually enhance the realization of a low-carbon society. Network model, transportation model and linear programming algorithms are used to model the present urban rail transport system in Nigeria, as an emerging country, in order to optimize it. Operational research methods, including simplex method and MODI, with the aids of computer software (excel solver and LIP solver) were adopted to solve the resulting models. The results showed that optimization of rail transport system will not only reduce carbon emission but also bring about economic development which is required for the eradication of prevalent poverty in these emerging countries.展开更多

A regional chemical transport model,RAMS-CMAQ,was employed to assess the impacts of biosphere-atmosphere CO2 exchange on seasonal variations in atmospheric CO2 concentrations over East Asia.Simulated CO2 concentration...A regional chemical transport model,RAMS-CMAQ,was employed to assess the impacts of biosphere-atmosphere CO2 exchange on seasonal variations in atmospheric CO2 concentrations over East Asia.Simulated CO2 concentrations were compared with observations at 12 surface stations and the comparison showed they were generally in good agreement.Both observations and simulations suggested that surface CO2 over East Asia features a summertime trough due to biospheric absorption,while in some urban areas surface CO2 has a distinct summer peak,which could be attributed to the strong impact from anthropogenic emissions.Analysis of the model results indicated that biospheric fluxes and fossil-fuel emissions are comparably important in shaping spatial distributions of CO2 near the surface over East Asia.Biospheric flux plays an important role in the prevailing spatial pattern of CO2 enhancement and reduction on the synoptic scale due to the strong seasonality of biospheric CO2 flux.The elevation of CO2 levels by the biosphere during winter was found to be larger than 5 ppm in North China and Southeast China,and during summertime a significant depletion (≥ 7 ppm) occurred in most areas,except for the Indo-China Peninsula where positive bioflux values were found.展开更多
One of the largest known megafloods on earth resulted from a glacier dam-break,which occurred during the Late Quaternary in the Altai Mountains in Southern Siberia.Computational modeling is one of the viable approache...One of the largest known megafloods on earth resulted from a glacier dam-break,which occurred during the Late Quaternary in the Altai Mountains in Southern Siberia.Computational modeling is one of the viable approaches to enhancing the understanding of the flood events.The computational domain of this flood is over 9460 km2 and about 3.784 × 106 cells are involved as a 50 m × 50 m mesh is used,which necessitates a computationally efficient model.Here the Open MP(Open Multiprocessing) technique is adopted to parallelize the code of a coupled 2D hydrodynamic and sediment transport model.It is shown that the computational efficiency is enhanced by over 80% due to the parallelization.The floods over both fixed and mobile beds are well reproduced with specified discharge hydrographs at the dam site.Qualitatively,backwater effects during the flood are resolved at the bifurcation between the Chuja and Katun rivers.Quantitatively,the computed maximum stage and thalweg are physically consistent with the field data of the bars and deposits.The effects of sediment transport and morphological evolution on the flood are considerable.Sensitivity analyses indicate that the impact of the peak discharge is significant,whilst those of the Manningroughness,medium sediment size and shape of the inlet discharge hydrograph are marginal.展开更多

The Shock Wave-Boundary Layer Interaction(SWBLI)flow generated by compression corner widely occurs in engineering.As one of the primary methods in engineering,the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)methods usually c...The Shock Wave-Boundary Layer Interaction(SWBLI)flow generated by compression corner widely occurs in engineering.As one of the primary methods in engineering,the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)methods usually cannot correctly predict strong SWBLI flows.In addition to the defects of the eddy viscosity assumption,the uncertainty of the closure coeffi-cients in RANS models often significantly impacts the simulation results.This study performs para-metric sensitivity analysis and Bayesian calibration on the closure coefficients of the Menter k-x Shear-Stress Transport(SST)model based on the SWBLI with different strengths.Firstly,the para-metric sensitivity on prediction results is analyzed using the Sobol index.The results indicate that the Sobol indices of wall pressure and skin friction exhibited opposite fluctuation trends with the increase of SWBLI strength.Then,the Bayesian uncertainty quantification method is adopted to obtain the posterior probability distributions and Maximum A Posteriori(MAP)estimates of the closure coefficients and the posterior uncertainty of the Quantities of Interests(QoIs).The results indicate that the prediction ability for strong SWBLI of the SST model is significantly improved by using the MAP estimates,and the relative errors of QoIs are reduced dramatically.展开更多

The MCV scheme defines 16 degrees of freedom (DOFs) within each element to build a 2D cubic reconstruction polynomial. The time evolution equations for DOFs are derived from constraint conditions on moments of line-integrated averages (LIA), point values (PV), and values of first-order derivatives (DV). The Yin-Yang grid eliminates polar singularities and results in a quasi-uniform mesh. A limiting projection is designed to remove nonphysical oscillations around discontinuities. Our model was tested against widely used benchmarks; the competitive results reveal that the model is accurate and promising for developing general circulation models.展开更多

The understanding of the DPM propagation pattern under realistic mining condition is required for selecting proper DPM control strategies and to improve working practices in underground mines. In this paper, three dimensional simulations of DPM emission from the exhaust tail pipe of a load-haul-dump(LHD) vehicle and its subsequent distribution inside an isolated zone in the typical underground mine are carried out using two different solution models available in Ansys Fluent. The incoming fresh air into the isolated zone is treated as a continuous phase and DPM is treated either as a continuous phase(gas) or as a secondary discrete phase(particle). Species transport model is used when DPM is treated as gas and discrete phase model is used when DPM is assumed to behave like a particle. The distributions of DPM concentration inside the isolated zone obtained from each method are presented and compared. From the comparison results, an accurate and economical solution technique for DPM evaluation can be selected.展开更多
Water circulation and sediment transport in the Beibu Gulf are important for its environmental protection and resource exploitation.By employing the Regional Ocean Modeling System(ROMS),we studied the seasonal varia...Water circulation and sediment transport in the Beibu Gulf are important for its environmental protection and resource exploitation.By employing the Regional Ocean Modeling System(ROMS),we studied the seasonal variation of circulation,sediment transport and long-term morphological evolution in the Beibu Gulf.The simulation results show that the circulation induced by tide and wind is cyclonic both in winter and summer in the gulf and that the wind-driven circulation is stronger in winter than that in summer.The sediment concentration is higher in the Qiongzhou Strait,west of the Hainan Island and the coast of Vietnam and the Leizhou Peninsula.The sediment is transported westwards in winter and eastwards in summer in the Qiongzhou Strait.The west entrance of the Qiongzhou Strait is dominated by westward transport all the year round.The sediment discharged by rivers is deposited near the river mouths.The simulated result demonstrates that the sediment transport is mainly controlled by tidal induced bottom resuspension in the Beibu Gulf.Four characteristics are summarized for the distribution patterns of erosion and deposition.(1) The erosion and deposition are insignificant in most area of the gulf.(2) Sediment deposition is more significant in the mouths of Qiongzhou Strait.(3) The erosion is observed in the seabed of Qiongzhou Strait.(4) Erosion and deposition occur alternatively in the west of Hainan Island.展开更多

Considering the mechanical approximation of the generation process of the pre-transitional vorticities, the value of laminar Reynolds shear stress related to the mean shear deformation was calculated in the original transition V-model. Then a new transition model, named V-SA model, was proposed, which considered the phenomenological process of transition and presented great results for flows with and without pressure gradient. It is well-known that the baseline Shear Stress Transport(SST) turbulence model shows excellent performance of accuracy and robustness in plentiful flow cases, but it is important to predict boundary layer transition. The current model(V-SST) successfully couples the V-model to the SST turbulence model by introducing the effective turbulent viscosity and additional correction terms into the transport equations. A thorough evaluation of its ability to predict transition features is performed versus the well-documented flat plate of ERCOFTAC, including T3A and T3B without pressure gradient, T3L2 and T3L3 with semi-circular leading edge, the three-dimensional 6:1 prolate-spheroid under two angles of attack, and the NLR-7301 airfoil under different Mach numbers. Numerical results show that the current model has an attractive and superior performance in the simulation of boundary layer transition processes.展开更多

文摘Transport analysis and impact evaluations are important input for decisions about infrastructure projects.The impacts on transport from fjord crossing tunnels or bridges are the foundation for the cost benefit analysis,and also the basis for estimating the income from toll collection.Based on experiences from concept evaluations of several fixed link projects on E39,and an ongoing overall analysis,we question the results from transport analysis made by the official tools for such analysis:the RTM(regional transport model)which estimates the demand for trips below 10 km,the NTM(national transport model),for trips of 10 km or more,and the freight transport model.Both the NTM and the freight transport model are integrated in the RTM in the net assignment stage.We will demonstrate strengths and weaknesses in the transport models by showing contra intuitive or questionable results using the model as it is.The following questions arose as the initial results from the transport model were presented:Are the transport models able to capture immediate as well as long-term impacts?How would different assumptions about the monetary costs on these projects affect the forecasted demand and the cost benefit analysis?Are there other and wider ranges of impacts,if the analysis covers the total coastal highway as a whole,compared to evaluating impacts of each fixed link project individually?Do we have enough data to include transport effects of wider impacts of the fixed link projects?We had to deal with these questions in the concept evaluations carried out for the various fixed links project and in the current overall evaluation.We would like to suggest improvements in the analysis tools and emphasize requirements for knowledge about impacts of fixed links projects.
文摘Recently, as the oceanic activities are more and more frequently carried out, marine oil spill accidents bring to enormous harm to the economy and society in China, especially in the Offshore China. Marine oil spill is one kind of serious disasters which severely damages the marine environment. Aiming at the improvement of the emergency response system and response ability for the oil spill, the relative technologies on oil spill response are developed. This paper briefly introduces the developments and achievements of the oil spill numerical models, including the oil spill spreading model, the oil spill transport model, the oil particle model as well as the oil spill weathering model, which provide the theoretic criterions for the future work on the oil spill predicting and response.
文摘There has been increasing interests in developing land use models for small urban areas for various planning applications such as air quality conformity analysis. The output of a land use model can serve as a major input to a transportation model; conversely, transportation model output can provide a critical input to a land use model. The connection between the two models can be achieved by an accessibility measure. This paper presents an iterative approach to solving a regression-based land use model and a transportation model with combined trip distribution- assignment. A case study using data from a small urban area is presented to illustrate the application of the proposed modeling framework. Tests show that the procedures can converge, and the modeling framework can be a valuable tool for planners and decision-makers in evaluating land use policies and transportation investment strategies.
文摘A two-stage algorithm based on deep learning for the detection and recognition of can bottom spray codes and numbers is proposed to address the problems of small character areas and fast production line speeds in can bottom spray code number recognition.In the coding number detection stage,Differentiable Binarization Network is used as the backbone network,combined with the Attention and Dilation Convolutions Path Aggregation Network feature fusion structure to enhance the model detection effect.In terms of text recognition,using the Scene Visual Text Recognition coding number recognition network for end-to-end training can alleviate the problem of coding recognition errors caused by image color distortion due to variations in lighting and background noise.In addition,model pruning and quantization are used to reduce the number ofmodel parameters to meet deployment requirements in resource-constrained environments.A comparative experiment was conducted using the dataset of tank bottom spray code numbers collected on-site,and a transfer experiment was conducted using the dataset of packaging box production date.The experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this study can effectively locate the coding of cans at different positions on the roller conveyor,and can accurately identify the coding numbers at high production line speeds.The Hmean value of the coding number detection is 97.32%,and the accuracy of the coding number recognition is 98.21%.This verifies that the algorithm proposed in this paper has high accuracy in coding number detection and recognition.
文摘Industries require planning in transporting their products from production centres to the users end with minimal transporting cost to maximize profit. This process is known as Transportation Problem which is used to analyze and minimize transportation cost. This problem is well discussed in operation research for its wide application in various fields, such as scheduling, personnel assignment, product mix problems and many others, so that this problem is really not confined to transportation or distribution only. In the solution procedure of a transportation problem, finding an initial basic feasible solution is the prerequisite to obtain the optimal solution. Again, development is a continuous and endless process to find the best among the bests. The growing complexity of management calls for development of sound methods and techniques for solution of the problems. Considering these factors, this research aims to propose an algorithm “Incessant Allocation Method” to obtain an initial basic feasible solution for the transportation problems. Several numbers of numerical problems are also solved to justify the method. Obtained results show that the proposed algorithm is effective in solving transportation problems.

文摘Based on the experimental data of Mn_(1)Co_(0.5)Cr_(0.5)O_(x)catalysts and the component transport model in computational fluid dynamics(CFD),a kinetic model for the standard NH_(3)-SCR(NH_(3)selective catalytic reduction)process was effectively established.The objective of the model development was to predict the denitrification reaction rate of the catalyst,which incorporates various factors such as the Arrhenius parameters(pre-exponential factor and activation energy),inertial resistance,viscous resistance,and surface-to-volume ratio.To verify the practicability of the model,simulation results were compared with actual experimental data.The effects of NH_(3),NO,O_(2)concentrations,and gas hourly space velocity(GHSV)on NO conversion were simulated and analyzed.Subsequently,the NO conversion prediction model was trained and established using a combination of numerical simulation results,backpropagation neural network,and genetic algorithm(BP-GA).Furthermore,the significance of the impact that various factors had on the denitrification activity of the catalyst was determined.
文摘This study examined gender differences in modal choice among residents of coastal communities of Yenagoa metropolis in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. The Four-Step model of transportation planning and modal choice provided the theoretical basis for this study. A survey research design involving a stratified sampling technique was adopted. The descriptives on transport modes, amount and time spent revealed that 10 (76.9%) males and 3 (23.1%) females preferred bicycle as means of transportation, 7 (58.3%) males and 5 (41.7%) females preferred motorcycle, while a significant proportion 90 (53.9%) males and 77 (46.1%) females preferred tricycle, 80 (63.0%) males and 47 (37.0%) females preferred cars/taxis, and 12 (46.2%) males and 14 (53.8%) females preferred mass transit bus. However, 14 (46.7%) males and 16 (53.3%) females in marshy terrain and coastal locations preferred canoes and boats. The result of the logistic regression model revealed that gender modal preference is more likely to be influenced by mode of transportation with a beta weight of 1.140, safety considerations 1.139, ownership of transport 1.135 and distance to place of work 1.073. Hence, this study recommends that a combination of these factors should be incorporated into transport planning to achieve effective transport planning and sustainable development in the Yenagoa metropolis.
文摘Rail systems are gradually becoming the most desirable form of transit infrastructure around the world, partly because they are becoming more environmentally friendly compared with airplanes and automobiles. This paper examines the place of emerging countries in this move of implementing modern rail system that will eventually enhance the realization of a low-carbon society. Network model, transportation model and linear programming algorithms are used to model the present urban rail transport system in Nigeria, as an emerging country, in order to optimize it. Operational research methods, including simplex method and MODI, with the aids of computer software (excel solver and LIP solver) were adopted to solve the resulting models. The results showed that optimization of rail transport system will not only reduce carbon emission but also bring about economic development which is required for the eradication of prevalent poverty in these emerging countries.

文摘A multi-phase transport(AMPT)model was constructed as a self-contained kinetic theory-based description of relativistic nuclear collisions as it contains four main components:the fluctuating initial condition,a parton cascade,hadronization,and a hadron cascade.Here,we review the main developments after the first public release of the AMPT source code in 2004 and the corre-sponding publication that described the physics details of the model at that time.We also discuss possible directions for future developments of the AMPT model to better study the properties of the dense matter created in relativistic collisions of small or large systems.

文摘Firstly, the macroscopic chemical equilibrium state of a series of chemical reactions between intercrystal brine and its media salt layer (salt deposit) in Qarhan Salt Lake was studied by using the Pitzer theory. The concept of macroscopic solubility product and its relation with accumulated ore dissolving ratio were presented, which are used in the numerical model of dissolving and driving exploitation of potassium salt in Qarhan Salt Lake. And secondly, with a model forming idea of transport model for reacting solutes in the multi-component fresh groundwater system in porous media being a reference, a two-dimensional transport model coupled with a series of chemical reactions in a multi-component brine porous system (salt deposits) was developed by using the Pitzer theory. Meanwhile, the model was applied to model potassium/magnesium transport in Qarhan Salt Lake in order to study the transfer law of solid and liquid phases in the dissolving and driving process and to design the optimal injection/abstraction strategy for dissolving and capturing maximum Potassium/ Magnesium in the mining of salt deposits in Qarhan Salt Lake.

文摘A regional chemical transport model,RAMS-CMAQ,was employed to assess the impacts of biosphere-atmosphere CO2 exchange on seasonal variations in atmospheric CO2 concentrations over East Asia.Simulated CO2 concentrations were compared with observations at 12 surface stations and the comparison showed they were generally in good agreement.Both observations and simulations suggested that surface CO2 over East Asia features a summertime trough due to biospheric absorption,while in some urban areas surface CO2 has a distinct summer peak,which could be attributed to the strong impact from anthropogenic emissions.Analysis of the model results indicated that biospheric fluxes and fossil-fuel emissions are comparably important in shaping spatial distributions of CO2 near the surface over East Asia.Biospheric flux plays an important role in the prevailing spatial pattern of CO2 enhancement and reduction on the synoptic scale due to the strong seasonality of biospheric CO2 flux.The elevation of CO2 levels by the biosphere during winter was found to be larger than 5 ppm in North China and Southeast China,and during summertime a significant depletion (≥ 7 ppm) occurred in most areas,except for the Indo-China Peninsula where positive bioflux values were found.

文摘One of the largest known megafloods on earth resulted from a glacier dam-break,which occurred during the Late Quaternary in the Altai Mountains in Southern Siberia.Computational modeling is one of the viable approaches to enhancing the understanding of the flood events.The computational domain of this flood is over 9460 km2 and about 3.784 × 106 cells are involved as a 50 m × 50 m mesh is used,which necessitates a computationally efficient model.Here the Open MP(Open Multiprocessing) technique is adopted to parallelize the code of a coupled 2D hydrodynamic and sediment transport model.It is shown that the computational efficiency is enhanced by over 80% due to the parallelization.The floods over both fixed and mobile beds are well reproduced with specified discharge hydrographs at the dam site.Qualitatively,backwater effects during the flood are resolved at the bifurcation between the Chuja and Katun rivers.Quantitatively,the computed maximum stage and thalweg are physically consistent with the field data of the bars and deposits.The effects of sediment transport and morphological evolution on the flood are considerable.Sensitivity analyses indicate that the impact of the peak discharge is significant,whilst those of the Manningroughness,medium sediment size and shape of the inlet discharge hydrograph are marginal.

文摘The Shock Wave-Boundary Layer Interaction(SWBLI)flow generated by compression corner widely occurs in engineering.As one of the primary methods in engineering,the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)methods usually cannot correctly predict strong SWBLI flows.In addition to the defects of the eddy viscosity assumption,the uncertainty of the closure coeffi-cients in RANS models often significantly impacts the simulation results.This study performs para-metric sensitivity analysis and Bayesian calibration on the closure coefficients of the Menter k-x Shear-Stress Transport(SST)model based on the SWBLI with different strengths.Firstly,the para-metric sensitivity on prediction results is analyzed using the Sobol index.The results indicate that the Sobol indices of wall pressure and skin friction exhibited opposite fluctuation trends with the increase of SWBLI strength.Then,the Bayesian uncertainty quantification method is adopted to obtain the posterior probability distributions and Maximum A Posteriori(MAP)estimates of the closure coefficients and the posterior uncertainty of the Quantities of Interests(QoIs).The results indicate that the prediction ability for strong SWBLI of the SST model is significantly improved by using the MAP estimates,and the relative errors of QoIs are reduced dramatically.

文摘A global transport model is proposed in which a multimoment constrained finite volume (MCV) scheme is applied to a Yin-Yang overset grid. The MCV scheme defines 16 degrees of freedom (DOFs) within each element to build a 2D cubic reconstruction polynomial. The time evolution equations for DOFs are derived from constraint conditions on moments of line-integrated averages (LIA), point values (PV), and values of first-order derivatives (DV). The Yin-Yang grid eliminates polar singularities and results in a quasi-uniform mesh. A limiting projection is designed to remove nonphysical oscillations around discontinuities. Our model was tested against widely used benchmarks; the competitive results reveal that the model is accurate and promising for developing general circulation models.

文摘The diesel particulate matter(DPM) emission from diesel powered equipment in underground mines can cause health hazards including cancer to the miners. The understanding of the DPM propagation pattern under realistic mining condition is required for selecting proper DPM control strategies and to improve working practices in underground mines. In this paper, three dimensional simulations of DPM emission from the exhaust tail pipe of a load-haul-dump(LHD) vehicle and its subsequent distribution inside an isolated zone in the typical underground mine are carried out using two different solution models available in Ansys Fluent. The incoming fresh air into the isolated zone is treated as a continuous phase and DPM is treated either as a continuous phase(gas) or as a secondary discrete phase(particle). Species transport model is used when DPM is treated as gas and discrete phase model is used when DPM is assumed to behave like a particle. The distributions of DPM concentration inside the isolated zone obtained from each method are presented and compared. From the comparison results, an accurate and economical solution technique for DPM evaluation can be selected.

文摘Water circulation and sediment transport in the Beibu Gulf are important for its environmental protection and resource exploitation.By employing the Regional Ocean Modeling System(ROMS),we studied the seasonal variation of circulation,sediment transport and long-term morphological evolution in the Beibu Gulf.The simulation results show that the circulation induced by tide and wind is cyclonic both in winter and summer in the gulf and that the wind-driven circulation is stronger in winter than that in summer.The sediment concentration is higher in the Qiongzhou Strait,west of the Hainan Island and the coast of Vietnam and the Leizhou Peninsula.The sediment is transported westwards in winter and eastwards in summer in the Qiongzhou Strait.The west entrance of the Qiongzhou Strait is dominated by westward transport all the year round.The sediment discharged by rivers is deposited near the river mouths.The simulated result demonstrates that the sediment transport is mainly controlled by tidal induced bottom resuspension in the Beibu Gulf.Four characteristics are summarized for the distribution patterns of erosion and deposition.(1) The erosion and deposition are insignificant in most area of the gulf.(2) Sediment deposition is more significant in the mouths of Qiongzhou Strait.(3) The erosion is observed in the seabed of Qiongzhou Strait.(4) Erosion and deposition occur alternatively in the west of Hainan Island.

文摘A three-equation transition model based on the transition V-model is proposed for subsonic flows in this study. Considering the mechanical approximation of the generation process of the pre-transitional vorticities, the value of laminar Reynolds shear stress related to the mean shear deformation was calculated in the original transition V-model. Then a new transition model, named V-SA model, was proposed, which considered the phenomenological process of transition and presented great results for flows with and without pressure gradient. It is well-known that the baseline Shear Stress Transport(SST) turbulence model shows excellent performance of accuracy and robustness in plentiful flow cases, but it is important to predict boundary layer transition. The current model(V-SST) successfully couples the V-model to the SST turbulence model by introducing the effective turbulent viscosity and additional correction terms into the transport equations. A thorough evaluation of its ability to predict transition features is performed versus the well-documented flat plate of ERCOFTAC, including T3A and T3B without pressure gradient, T3L2 and T3L3 with semi-circular leading edge, the three-dimensional 6:1 prolate-spheroid under two angles of attack, and the NLR-7301 airfoil under different Mach numbers. Numerical results show that the current model has an attractive and superior performance in the simulation of boundary layer transition processes.
