The effect of intermetallic compounds on the heat resistance of transition joint was investigated. The experiment of post-weld heat treatment for the hot roll bonded titanium alloy-stainless steel joint using nickels interlayer was carried out, and the interface microstructure evolution due to heat treatment was presented. There was not found significant interdiffusion at stainless steel/nickel interface, when the specimens were heat treated in the temperature range of 600-800 °C for 10 and 30 min, while micro-cracks occurred at the stainless steel/nickel interface heat treated at 700 °C for 30 min. The thickness of intermetallic layers at nickel/titanium alloy interface increased at 600 °C, and micro-cracks occurred at 700 and 800 °C. The micro-cracks occurred between intermetallic layers or between intermetallic layer and nickel interlayer as well. The tensile strength of the transition joint decreased with the increase of heat treatment temperature or holding time. 展开更多

Based on the two-pass differential temperature rolling bonding method, the effects of prefabricated steel/aluminum composite panel temperature on interface characteristics and microstructure properties were investigated through experimental analysis and finite element simulations. When the temperature exceeds 400℃,the effective preparation of the steel-aluminum transition joint can be achieved, and with the increase in temperature, the interface shear and pull-off strength of the steel-aluminum transition joint exhibits an initial decrease followed by an increase. Both the interface shear and pull-off fractures are in 1060 aluminum matrix. As the temperature increases, the size of the average grain in 1060 aluminum matrix increases and then decreases. When the temperature reaches 550℃,the comprehensive performance of the prepared steel-aluminum transition joint is the best, with the interface shear strength of 77 MPa and the interface pull-off strength of 153 MPa,exceeding the bonding strength of the explosive compounding method. There are no pinholes, wrinkles,or cracks in the lateral bending matrix and the interface. 展开更多

The transformation of the dissimilar metals in the welding area into a single metal is an important method for achieving high-quality welded connection in the dissimilar metal laminated composite plate. In this study,a high-performance titanium/steel composite plate(TSCP)with pure titaniumization in the welding area was prepared by cold spraying, hot rolling and heat treatment processes. The results indicate that cold spraying achieves effective pre-composite deposition of titanium particles while inhibiting interfacial oxidation and Fe-Ti alloying reactions, producing a relatively dense pure titanium coating with a low porosity of only 1.2%.Hot rolling eliminates internal defects and promotes strong metallurgical bonding of the composite interface. The heat treatment promotes the recrystallization and reduces the dislocation density within the coating. The interfacial bonding strength of the welding area with pure titaniumization of TSCP is 257 MPa,and the tensile strength of that is 414 MPa,reaching 95.6%of the TSCP’s base material. 展开更多
