The paper presents researches on increasing the energetic & economic efficiency of the photovoltaic (PV) conversion by designing and optimizing a dual-axis tracking mechanism that simultaneously changes the position of the modules using two motor sources. The driving source for the daily motion is a rotary motor, while the elevation motion is performed with a linear actuator. The main task in optimizing the tracking mechanism is to maximize the energetic gain by increasing the solar input and minimizing the energy consumption for tracking. The design strategy aims to identify the optimum angular field for the daily motion, as well as the optimum actuating time in the step-by-step motion. The study is made by developing the virtual prototype of the tracking mechanism, in the mechatronic concept. The virtual prototyping platform includes the following software solutions: CATIA (Computer Aided Tri-Dimensional Interface Application)--to create the solid model, which contains information about the mass & inertia properties of the parts, ADAMS (Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems)/View--to model the mechanical structure of the solar tracker, and EASY5 & ADAMS/Controls-for the control system design. 展开更多

The key word for the design process of the photovoltaic tracking systems is the energetic efficiency. Using the tracking system, the photovoltaic panel follows the sun and increases the collected energy, but the driving motors consume a part of this energy. In these terms, the optimization of the tracking systems became an important challenge in the modem research and technology. In this paper, a strategy for the dynamic optimization of the photovoltaic tracking systems is presented. The main task in optimization is to maximize the energetic gain by increasing the incoming solar radiation and minimizing the energy consumption for tracking. This strategy is possible by developing the virtual prototype of the tracking system, which is a control loop composed by the multi-body mechanical model connected with the dynamic model of the actuators and with the controller model. In this way, it is possible to optimize the tracking mechanism, choose the appropriate actuators, and design the optimal controller. 展开更多

Feedback systems, like Adobe’s Performance Management System, employ AI algorithms to provide personalized development opportunities, enhancing employee growth. AI-based tracking systems optimize resource allocation, as exemplified by studies like “AI-Based Tracking Systems: Enhancing Efficiency and Accountability.” Additionally, AI-powered decision support, demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic, showcases the capability to navigate complex challenges and maintain resilience. However, AI adoption poses challenges in human resources, potentially leading to job displacement and necessitating upskilling efforts. Managing AI errors becomes crucial, as illustrated by instances like Amazon’s biased recruiting tool. Data privacy concerns also arise, emphasizing the need for robust security measures. The proposed solution suggests leveraging Local Machine Learning Models (LLMs) to address data privacy issues. Approaches such as federated learning, on-device learning, differential privacy, and homomorphic encryption offer promising strategies. By exploring the evolving dynamics of AI and leadership, this research advocates for responsible AI adoption and proposes LLMs as a potential solution, fostering a balanced integration of AI benefits while mitigating associated risks in corporate settings. 展开更多

A barrier-free wheelchair robot with a mechanism coupled by wheel and track is presen- ted in this paper. Using the wheelchair, the lower limb disabled persons could be more relaxed to take part in outdoor activities whether on flat ground or stairs and obstacles in the city. The wheel- track coupling mechanism is designed and the stability of the bodywork of the wheelchair robot on the stairs is analyzed. In order to obtain the stability of wheelchair robot when it climbs obstacles, centroid projection method is applied to analyze the static stability, stability margin is proposed to provide the stability under some dynamic forces, and the push rod rotation angle in terms of the guaranteed stability margin is given. Finally, the dynamic model of the wheelchair robot based on Lagrange equation is established, which can be a theoretical foundation for the wheelchair control system design. 展开更多
