Effects of experimental parameters including TiO2 mass ratio, solution p H and catalyst dosage on the removal of methyl blue(MB) were also conducted. The presence of a little mass ratio(2%-6%) of TiO2 highly promoted the photoactivity of REC/ZnO/TiO2 in removal of MB dye from aqueous solution, in which ZnO and REC played a role of photocatalyst and adsorbent. The promotion effects of TiO2 may result from the accelerated separation of electron-hole on ZnO. The observed kinetic constant for the degradation of MB over REC/ZnO and REC/ZnO/TiO2 were 0.015 and 0.038 min^(-1), respectively. The degradation kinetics of MB dye, which followed the Langmuir–Hinshelwood model, had a reaction constant of 0.17 mg/(L min). The decrease of removal ratio of MB after five repetitive experiments was small, indicating REC/ZnO/TiO2 has great potential as an effective and stable catalyst.展开更多

The photocatalytic degradation of acid yellow (AY) was investigated under UV radiation to estimate activity of catalysts and determine the kinetics. And the effects of parameters including the initial concentration of AY, light intensity and TiO2 content in catalysts were examined. The results indicate that TAs has a higher efficiency in decomposition of AY than P25, pure TiO2 particles as well as the mixture of TiO2 powder and active carbon. The photocatalytic degradation rate is found to follow the pseudo-first order kinetics with respect to the AY concentration. The new kinetic model fairly resembles the classic Langmuir-Hinshelwood equation, and the rate constant is proportional to the square root of the light intensity in a wide range. However, its absorption performance depends on the surface areas of catalysts. The model fits quite well with the experimental data and elucidates phenomena about the effects of the TiO2 content in TAs on the degradation rate.展开更多

A SSP was designed and developed for the synthesis of ZnO/TiO2 nanocomposite by sol gel method. In a typical synthe-sis process, a bimetallic molecular compound with chemical formula [Cl2TiZn(dmae)4] (dmae=dimethylaminoethanol) was synthesized and its chemical composition was deter-mined by elemental analysis. The obtained compound has shown excellent solubility in common organic solvents, a prerequisite for its use in sol gel method as SSP. The SSP ob-tained was controllably hydrolyzed by adding equimolar amount of water using ethanol as solvent to get ZnO/TiO2 nanocomposite gel. The resulting gel was precipitated at pH=9 and sintered at 200 ℃ (T200), 400℃ (T400), and 600℃ (T600). The XRD analyses have shown that the as synthesized (non-sintered, T00) powder was amorphous. However, the crystallinity improved upon sintering, and the XRD analyses revealed that the resulting nanomaterials were composed of mixed oxides i.e., ZnO and TiO2. The ZnO was in wurtzite (hexagonal) while the TiO2 was in brookite (orthorhombic) phase. The increase in particlesize was further confirmed from BET analysis and SEM micrographs. The IR spectra ob-tained for the resulting powder have shown the peculiar vibrational bands for Zn-O and Ti-O. Furthermore, the IR spectra revealed that the non-sintered ZnO/TiO2 nanocomposite had significant number of OH group which was removed upon sintering. The photocatalytic activities of the ZnO/TiO2 nanocomposites were tested. All the samples have shown good photocatalytic activities. However, the T400 has shown higher activity than the T00, T200, and T600. The higher photocatalytic activity of T400 than T00, T200, and T600 may be due to improved crystallinity which ensures efficient grain boundary interfaces.展开更多

After being spiked with γ-HCH, soil samples loaded with the composite photocatalysts were exposed to UV-light irradiation. The surface morphology and the optical properties of the composite film were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), ultraviolet- visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The photocatalytic activity of the samples was evaluated by the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange (MO) aqueous solution under visible light irradiation. The results indicate that the Cu2O/TiO2/Pt composite films are made up of three layers which are Pt layer, anatase-TiO2 layer and Cu2O layer from bottom to top. The surface of the films is even and composed of regular-shaped spherical particles. The photocatalytic activity of the Cu2O/TiO2/Pt three-layer film is much higher than that of the Cu2O/TiO2 double-layer film. Such enhancement is ascribed to the presence of Pt layer, which further inhibits the photogenerated electron-hole recombination, prolongs the lifetime of the photogenerated carriers, increases the quantum efficiency and hence improves the photocatalytic activity of the film effectively.展开更多

With coupling biosorption and photocatalysis to develop biomaterial/TiO2 composite photocatalysts is a promising method to remove these trace pollutants because of the synergistic effect. Biomaterials provide multiple function groups which can selectively and efficiently enrich trace pollutants onto the surface of the photocatalysts, thus facilitating the following transformation mediated by TiO2 photocatalysis. Biomaterials can also help the dispersion and recovery of TiO2, or even modify the band structure of TiO2. The fabrication of chitosan/TiO2, cellulose/TiO2, as well as other biomaterial/TiO2 composite photocatalysts is discussed in detail in this review. The application significance of these composite photocatalysts for the selective removal of trace pollutants is also addressed. Several problems should be solved before the realistic applications can be achieved as discussed in the final section.展开更多

文摘We report the construction of a graphene/tourmaline/TiO2(G/T/TiO2)composite system with enhanced charge‐carrier separation, and therefore enhanced photocatalytic properties, based on tailoring the surface‐charged state of graphene and/or by introducing an external electric field arising from tourmaline.A simple two‐step hydrothermal method was used to synthesize G/T/TiO2composites and poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)‐G/T/TiO2composites.In the photocatalytic degradation of2‐propanol(IPA),the catalytic activity of the composite containing negatively charged graphene was higher than of the composite containing positively charged graphene. The highest acetone evolution rate(223?mol/h)was achieved using the ternary composite with the optimum composition,i.e.,G0.5/T5/TiO2(0.5wt%graphene and5wt%tourmaline).The involvement of tourmaline and graphene in the composite is believed to facilitate the separation and transportation of electrons and holes photogenerated in TiO2.This synergetic effect could account for the enhanced photocatalytic activity of the G/T/TiO2composite.A mechanistic study indicated that O2??radicals and holes were the main reactive oxygen species in photocatalytic degradation of IPA.

文摘Modern communication technologies put forward higher requirements for electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorption materials.Metal-organic framework(MOF)derivatives have been widely concerned with its diverse advantages. To break the mindset of magneticderivative design, and make up the shortage of monometallic non-magnetic derivatives,we first try non-magnetic bimetallic MOFs derivatives to achieve efficient EMW absorption. The porous carbon-wrapped TiO2/ZrTiO4 composites derived from PCN-415(TiZr-MOFs)are qualified with a minimum reflection loss of−67.8 dB(2.16 mm,13.0 GHz),and a maximum effective absorption bandwidth of 5.9 GHz(2.70 mm).Through in-depth discussions, the synergy of enhanced interfacial polarization and other attenuation mechanisms in the composites is revealed. Therefore, this work confirms the huge potentials of nonmagnetic bimetallic MOFs derivatives in EMW absorption applications.

文摘TiO2 and montmorillonite composite photocatalysts were prepared and applied in degrading γ-hexachlorocyclohexane (γ-HCH) in soils. After being spiked with γ-HCH, soil samples loaded with the composite photocatalysts were exposed to UV-light irradiation. The results indicated that the photocatalytic activities of the composite photocatalysts varied with the content of TiO2 in the order of 10%〈70%〈50% 〈30%, Moreover, the photocatalytic activity of the composite photocatalysts with TiO2 content 30% was higher than that of the pure P25 with the same mass of TiO2. The strong adsorption capacity of the composite photocatalysts and quantum size effect may contribute to its increased photocatalytic activities. In addition, effect of dosage of composite photocatalysts and soil pH on γ-HCH photodegradation was investigated. Pentachlorocyclohexene, trichlorocyclohexene, and dichlorobenzene were detected as photodegradation intermediates, which were gradually degraded with the photodegradation evolution.

文摘Barite/TiO2 composite particle (B/TCP) was prepared by coating TiO2 on the surfaces of barite particles through mechano-chemical method. The preparation parameters and pigment properties of B/TCP as well as the interaction mechanism between barite and TiO2 were studied. The results indicated that the mechanical co-grinding process and the proportion of TiO2 affected the properties of B/TCP significantly. B/TCP prepared under optimal conditions was similar to TiO2 in pigment properties. It was mainly the strong electrostatic attraction between barite and TiO2 in water that combined them firmly and then formed B/TCP.

文摘Bi2(Te,Se)3 alloys are conventional commercial thermoelectric materials for solid-state refrigeration around room temperature. In recent years, much attention has been paid to various advanced thermoelectric composite materials due to the unique thermoelectric properties. In this work,Bi2Se3/TiO2 composites were prepared by hot pressing the plate-like Bi2Se3 powders coated in situ with hydrolyzed hytetabutyl-n-butyl titanate(TNBT),and therefore numerous TiO2 in micrometer size could be formed on the interface of Bi2Se3 grains. The carrier concentration in Bi2Se3 matrix is optimized subject to the addition of n-type semiconductor TiO2,contributing to a significant improved power factor. In the meantime, the lattice thermal conductivity is also suppressed due to the enhanced phonon scattering at Bi2Se3/TiO2 interface and amorphous TiO2 particles. As a consequence,a peak figure of merit(zT)of 0.41 is obtained at 525 K in Bi2Se3/15 mol%TiO2 composites, nearly 50%augment over the pristine Bi2Se3 binary compound.

文摘Calcined kaolin/TiO2 composite particle material (CK/TCPM) was prepared with TiO2 coating on the surfaces of calcined kaolin particles by the mechano-chemical method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to investigate the microstructures and morphologies, respectively. The mechanism of the mechano-chemical reaction between calcined kaolin and TiO2 was studied by infrared spectra (IR). The results show that TiO2 coats evenly on the surfaces of calcined kaolin particles by Si-O-Ti and Al-O-Ti bonds on their interfaces. The hiding power and whiteness of CK/TCPM are 17.12 g/m^2 and 95.7%, respectively, presenting its similarity to TiO2 in pigment properties.

文摘Cu2O/TiOa/Pt three-layer films were deposited on glass substrates using magnetron sputtering method. Such enhancement is ascribed to the presence of Pt layer, which further inhibits the photogenerated electron-hole recombination, prolongs the lifetime of the photogenerated carriers, increases the quantum efficiency and hence improves the photocatalytic activity of the film effectively.

文摘Trace environmental pollutants have become a serious problem with special attention on the hazardous heavy metals, refractory organics, and pathogenic microorganisms. Several problems should be solved before the realistic applications can be achieved as discussed in the final section.
