The electrochemical oxidation degradation processes for artificial and actual wastewater containing ammonia were carried out with a Ti/RuO2-Pt anode and a Ti plate cathode. We studied the effects of different current densities, space sizes between the two electrodes, and amounts of added NaCl on ammonia-containing wastewater treatm.ent. It was shown that, after a 30-min treatment under the optimal conditions, which were a current density of 20 mA/cm2, a space size between the two electrodes of I cm, and an added amount of 0.5 g/L of NaC1, the COD concentration in municipal wastewater was 40 mg/L, a removal rate of 90%; and the NH3-N concentration was 7 mg/L, a removal rate of 88.3%. The effluent of municipal wastewater qualified for Class A of the Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB 18918-2002). 展开更多

This paper studies the structure and electronic properties of Li4Ti5O12, as anode material for lithium ion batteries, from first principles calculations. The results suggest that there are two kinds of unit cell of Li4Ti5O12: n-type and p-type. The two unit cells have different structures and electronic properties: the n-type with two 16d site Li ions is metallic by electron, while the p-type with three 16d Li ions is metallic by hole. However, the Li4Ti5O12 is an insulator. It is very interesting that one n-type cell and two p-type cells constitute one Li4Ti5O12 supercell which is insulating. The results show that the intercalation potential obtained with a p-type unit cell with one additional electron is quite close to the experimental value of 1.5 V. 展开更多

Anodized composite films containing Si C nanoparticles were synthesized on Ti6Al4 V alloy by anodic oxidation procedure in C4O6H4Na2 electrolyte. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) were employed to characterize the morphology and composition of the films fabricated in the electrolytes with and without addition of Si C nanoparticles. Results show that Si C particles can be successfully incorporated into the oxide film during the anodizing process and preferentially concentrate within internal cavities and micro-cracks. The ball-on-disk sliding tests indicate that Si C-containing oxide films register much lower wear rate than the oxide films without Si C under dry sliding condition. Si C particles are likely to melt and then are oxidized by frictional heat during sliding tests. Potentiodynamic polarization behavior reveals that the anodized alloy with Si C nanoparticles results in a reduction in passive current density to about 1.54×10-8 A/cm2, which is more than two times lower than that of the Ti O2 film(3.73×10-8 A/cm2). The synthesized composite film has good anti-wear and anti-corrosion properties and the growth mechanism of nanocomposite film is also discussed. 展开更多

The electrochemical treatment of COD contained in biologically pretreated coking wastewater treated by a three-dimensional electrode system with modified coke as the particle electrode was investigated. And the electrochemical perromance of the coke modified with various active components was studied. The results show that the coke modified with Fe(NO3)2 has the lowest energy consumption and higher COD removal rate under the same condition, and the modified coke has better surface characteristics for the purpose of this study. In addition, the kinetic constant was also calculated. The study shows that the three-dimensional electrode system with Fe (NO3)z-modified coke can give a satisfactory solution in biologically pretreated coking wastewater. 展开更多

Ti6Al4V substrates were anodized in a 0.5 mol/L H_2SO_4 solution at applied voltages of 90-140 V.A hydroxyapatite-titanium oxide(HA-TiO2)coating was then deposited on the anodized Ti6Al4 V substrates via a hydrothermal-electrochemicalmethod at a constant current.The obtained films and coatings were characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,and Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry.The microstructures of the porous films on the Ti6Al4 V substrates were studied to investigate the effect of the anodizing voltage on the phase and morphology of the HATiO_2 coating.The results indicated that both the phase composition and the morphology of the coatings were significantly influenced by changes in the anodizing voltage.HA-TiO_2 was directly precipitated onto the surface of the substrate when the applied voltage was between 110 and 140 V.The coatings had a gradient structure and the HA exhibited both needle-like and cotton-like structures.The amount of cotton-like HA structures decreased with an increase in voltage from 90 to 120 V,and then increased slightly when the voltage was higher than 120 V.The orientation index of the(002)plane of the coating was at a minimum when the Ti6Al4 V substrate was pretreated at 120 V. 展开更多

The low cell voltage during electrolytic Mn from the MnCl_(2) system can effectively reduce the power consumption.In this work,the Ti/Sn−Ru−Co−Zr modified anodes were obtained by using thermal decomposition oxidation.The physical parameters of coatings were observed by SEM(scanning electron microscope).Based on the electrochemical performance and SEM/XRD(X-ray diffraction)of the coatings,the influence of Zr on electrode performance was studied and analyzed.When the mole ratio of Sn−Ru−Co−Zr is 6:1:0.8:0.3,the cracks on the surface of coatings were the smallest,and the compactness was the best due to the excellent filling effect of ZrO_(2)nanoparticles.Moreover,the electrode prepared under this condition had the lowest mass transfer resistance and high chloride evolution activity in the 1mol%NH_(4)Cl and 1.5mol%HCl system.The service life of 3102 h was achieved according to the empirical formula of accelerated-life-test of the new type anode. 展开更多

The chlor-alkali industry faces high energy consumption,competition between the chlorine evolution reaction(CER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER),and challenges,such as high costs and poor stability of precious metal catalysts in chlorine production.At the same time,the treatment of antibiotic pollution urgently requires efficient degradation technologies.In this study,a non-precious metal anode of CuCo_(2)S_(4)/Ti(CCS/Ti)with a nanosheet structure was constructed on a foam titanium substrate using a hydrothermal method,achieving dual-functional applications for efficient chlorine evolution and the degradation of ofloxacin(OFX).The electrode exhibits an overpotential of 1.23 V(vs.Ag/AgCl)at a current density of 100 mA·cm^(−2),with a Faradaic efficiency of 95.66%,and remains stable for 180 h.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations indicate that the chlorine evolution mechanism on the CCS/Ti electrode primarily follows the Volmer-Heyrovsky pathway.Furthermore,the CCS/Ti electrode achieves a degradation efficiency of 91.34%for OFX within 5 min and demonstrates broad-spectrum degradation capabilities for various fluoroquinolone antibiotics(>83.05%).This study provides an efficient and cost-effective new approach for catalyst material design,contributing to the greening of the chlor-alkali industry and the treatment of refractory pollutants. 展开更多

Flexible lithium ion batteries (LIBs) have recently attracted increasing attention as they show unique promising advantages, such as flexibility, shape diversity, and light weight. Similar to conventional LIBs, flexible LIBs with long cycle life and high-rate performance are very important for applications of high performance flexible electronics. Herein, we report a three-dimensional (3D) web-like binderfree Li4Ti5O12 (LTO) anode assembled from numerous 1D nanowires exhibiting excellent cycling performance with high capacities of 153 and 115 mA·h·g^-1 after 5,000 cycles at 2 C and 20 C, respectively, and excellent rate property with a capacity of 103 mA·h·g^-1 even at a very high current rate of 80 C. Surprisingly, a flexible full battery assembled from the web-like LTO nanostructure and LiMn2O4 (LMO) nanorods exhibited a high capacity of 125 mA·h·g^-1 at high current rate of 20 C, and showed excellent flexibility with little performance degradation even in seriously bent states. 展开更多

The one-dimensional titanium oxide(TiO_2) nanotubes(TONT) can be rationally fabricated in the fluoridecontaining electrolyte by electrochemical anodization. The high-speed growth of TONT for elongated nanotubes is highly desirable because the undesirable chemical etching will induce ‘‘nanograss" on the top of nanotubes and restrain the continued elongation of nanotubes. Herein, the external fields were employed to accelerate the growth of TONTs and obtain the elongated TONT arrays. A growth rate up to 18 lm/h was achieved under the presence of reduced pressure(0.07 MPa) and UV light(365 nm) stimulation. The generation of longer nanotube arrays could be attributed to the applied fields, which facilitate timely gas pumping out and induce chemical equilibrium shift forward. The TONT films obtained under different parameters were subsequently employed as anodes for photoelectrochemical(PEC) water splitting. The photocurrent(at 0 V vs Ag/Ag Cl) of TONT electrode obtained under external fields represented a 50% enhancement compared with the photoanode produced by the conventional method. 展开更多
