A nonlinear sliding surface whose parameters are altering with time is designed at first. The proposed NSMSC can minimize the settling time without any overshoot via utilizing a low damping ratio at starting along with a high damping ratio as the output approaches the target set-point. In addition, it eliminates the problem of the singularity with the upper bound of an uncertain term that is hard to be measured practically as well as ensures a rapid convergence in finite time, through employing a simple adaptation law. Moreover, for enhancing the system efficiency throughout the constant torque region, the control system utilizes the maximum torque per ampere technique. The nonlinear sliding surface stability is assured via employing Lyapunov stability theory. Furthermore, a simple sliding mode estimator is employed for estimating the system uncertainties. The stability analysis and the experimental results indicate the effectiveness along with feasibility of the proposed speed estimation and the NSMSC approach for a 1.1-k W PMa-Syn RM under different speed references, electrical and mechanical parameters disparities, and load disturbance conditions.展开更多

The VSD is designed for cooling applications where the 1M is coupled to a cooling fan. The drive receives temperature feedback from objects to be cooled and output a corresponding frequency to the IM. A prototype of the VSD is constructed to control a 175 W, four pole, squirrel cage three-phase IM. The heart of the control circuit is a low-cost microchip's PICI6F777 microcontroller which is programmed using C language to generate variable frequency SPWM (sinusoidal pulse width modulation) switching signals. These switching signals are fed to an 1GBT inverter. The VSD constructed can be switched between two modes of speed control" automatic temperature-controlled mode and manual user-controlled mode. The induction motor design is treated as a non-linear and multivariable constrained optimization problem. The annual material cost and the total annual cost of the motor are chosen as two different objective functions. The PSO is used to find a set of optimal design variables of the motor which are then used to predict performance indices and the objective functions. The proposed method is demonstrated for two sample motors, and it is compared with the genetic algorithm (GA) and the conventional design methods. The results show that the PSO-based method effectively solved the induction motor design problems and outperforms the other methods in both the solution quality and computation efficiency.展开更多

文摘With the increasing requirements of electro-hydrostatic actuators(EHAs)for power, volume, and pressure, there is a growing tendency in the industry to combine the motor and pump to form a so-called'motor pump'to improve the integration. In this paper,a novel structure for a wet three-phase high-speed reluctance motor pump is proposed, which can further improve integration by removing the dynamic seal on the pump shaft, thereby avoiding the problems of dynamic seal wear and oil leakage and improving heat dissipation under high-speed working conditions. However, after the motor is wetted, the churning loss caused by immersion of the rotor in the oil causes additional fluid resistance torque.Based on fundamental fluid mechanics,an analytical model of the churning torque of a wet motor was established. To verify the accuracy of the analytical model,a simulation model of churning loss was established based on computational fluid dynamics(CFD),and the churning torque and flow field state were analyzed. Finally,an experimental prototype was designed and manufactured, and a test bench for churning loss was built. The oil churning torque was measured at different speeds and temperatures. The results from the analytical, simulation, and experimental models agreed well. The experimental results validated the analytical model and CFD simulation. This research provides a practical method for calculating the churning loss and serves as guidance for future optimization of churning loss reduction.
文摘This paper presents an electronic VSD (variable speed drive) for three-phase IM (induction motor) using a microcontroller. Cost savings using the prototype are demonstrated.
文摘A Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based design of three-phase induction motors are proposed. The results show that the PSO-based method effectively solved the induction motor design problems and outperforms the other methods in both the solution quality and computation efficiency.

文摘In position-sensorless brushless direct current(DC)motors(BLDCMs)fed by a four-switch three-phase(FSTP)inverter,only two phases are fully controlled, while the remaining phase is tied to the midpoint of the split DC-link capacitors. The voltage pulses required by inductance-based initial position detection can cause unequal discharge of the series capacitors, shifting the neutral-point voltage away from half of DC-link voltage(U_(dc)/2).This neutral-point drift breaks the spatial symmetry of the inverter voltage vectors,so the 360°electrical period can no longer be evenly partitioned into six sectors during initial rotor position detection. To address this issue, this paper proposes a detection-pulse injection sequence that explicitly accounts for the asymmetric voltage vectors of the FSTP inverter. With the proposed sequence, the initial rotor position can be identified within a 30°electrical sector. The method requires no additional voltage or current sensors, and experimental results confirm its feasibility.
