This study investigates the psychological and cultural motivations that underpin charitable giving in Sri Lanka,with particular attention to whether such behaviour can be considered genuinely altruistic.While charitab...This study investigates the psychological and cultural motivations that underpin charitable giving in Sri Lanka,with particular attention to whether such behaviour can be considered genuinely altruistic.While charitable acts are commonly perceived as selfless,this research highlights the complex and often contradictory nature of the motivations involved.Using a qualitative approach,semi-structured interviews were conducted with individuals who regularly engage in charitable activities.Thematic analysis revealed three overarching categories of motivation.The first,obliged motives stem from social expectations and religious duty.The second,independent motives reflect personal values and intrinsic satisfaction.The third,ambivalent motives are a novel category that captures the simultaneous interplay between self-serving and other-oriented intentions.The emergence of ambivalent motives is especially significant,as it challenges binary distinctions between altruism and egoism,suggesting that charitable giving frequently serves psychological,social,and existential needs alongside prosocial goals.The findings support established psychological frameworks such as Self-Determination Theory and the Theory of Planned Behavior,while also highlighting the unique cultural dynamics of Sri Lankan society,particularly the influence of Buddhist ethics and collectivist values.These cultural factors shape both the meaning and practice of giving,embedding it within broader narratives of moral obligation,social harmony,and spiritual merit.Ultimately,the study concludes that while charitable giving in Sri Lanka may outwardly appear altruistic,it is often driven by a complex mixture of internal and external motives,suggesting that authenticity in giving is rarely absolute but rather contextually and psychologically mediated.展开更多

Background: Peripheral nerve regeneration is a critical research area with significant implications for neurology,neurosurgery,and regenerative medicine.A bibliometric analysis was conducted to provide a structured ov...Background: Peripheral nerve regeneration is a critical research area with significant implications for neurology,neurosurgery,and regenerative medicine.A bibliometric analysis was conducted to provide a structured overview of research trends,intellectual impact,and evolving themes in peripheral nerve regeneration.This study aimed to identify the most influential research articles on peripheral nerve regeneration;analyze keyword trends,thematic evolution,and co-word structures;assess the contributions of top authors,universities,and countries;and examine collaboration networks and research dynamics.Methods: A systematic bibliometric approach was employed using two search strategies.The first strategy involved searching within the title,abstract,and keyword fields,yielding 15 317 papers,whereas the second strategy was restricted to searching titles only,retrieving 3 531 papers.From these,the 100 most cited papers were selected for analysis.A thematic analysis was conducted using co-word clustering.The leading contributors were ranked according to the number of publications,citations,h-index,g-index,and m-index.Results: The bibliometric analysis provided several key insights.Keyword analysis using bi-and tri-gram techniques revealed the dominant research themes within the field.The top contributors,including authors,universities,and countries,were ranked based on their productivity and citation impact.Collaboration networks were mapped at the author,institutional,and country levels,highlighting key partnerships and global research interactions.Thematic analysis classified research into seven major domains: neural regeneration and repair;cellular and molecular biology;biomaterials and tissue engineering;experimental studies and statistical analyses;functional and therapeutic aspects;neuropathic pain and peripheral nerve disorders;and Schwann cell and cellular responses.Additionally,the ten most influential papers were reviewed in detail to understand their contributions to the field.Conclusion: This study provides a comprehensive and structured overview of peripheral nerve regeneration research.These findings offer valuable insights into the intellectual foundation of the field by identifying key contributors,research trends,and collaboration patterns.The results serve as a guide for future research,helping researchers to navigate the evolving landscape of peripheral nerve regeneration.展开更多

Background:Three-dimensional(3D)printing has revolutionized craniofacial and craniomaxillofacial applications,leading to substantial advancements in patient-specific treatments.In this study,a bibliometric analysis wa...Background:Three-dimensional(3D)printing has revolutionized craniofacial and craniomaxillofacial applications,leading to substantial advancements in patient-specific treatments.In this study,a bibliometric analysis was performed to identify the key contributors,research trends,thematic developments,and collaboration networks in this evolving field.Methods:Two search strategies were employed to ensure a comprehensive analysis:(1)a broad search,in which selected keywords were searched in the title,abstract,and keyword fields to capture all relevant publications,and(2)a title-specific search,in which keywords were restricted to the title field to identify publications with a strong focus on 3D printing in craniofacial and craniomaxillofacial applications.The retrieved dataset was analyzed using VOSviewer and RStudio(bibliometrix package).Results:The broad search retrieved 3534 publications,whereas the title-specific search yielded 280 publications.The analysis of these 280 papers focused on identifying the top authors,universities,and countries,as well as their research dynamics and collaboration networks.A more detailed approach was adopted by examining the titles of these 280 papers.VOSviewer segmented the titles into approximately 800 words,which were then categorized into 18 distinct thematic groups to represent research trends.The focus areas of the ten most cited papers were also analyzed.Conclusion:This bibliometric study provides valuable insights into the progress in 3D printing for craniofacial and craniomaxillofacial applications.By highlighting the key contributors,thematic developments,and collaborative networks,this study offers a foundation for future research in this rapidly advancing field.展开更多
Background:Facelift procedures represent a critical area of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery that addresses the physical and psychological impacts of facial aging.Advancements in techniques and technologies over t...Background:Facelift procedures represent a critical area of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery that addresses the physical and psychological impacts of facial aging.Advancements in techniques and technologies over time have transformed the field,making it essential to assess the evolution of research trends.This study performed a bibliometric analysis of facelift research by examining the top 50 most cited publications to evaluate their contributions,thematic evolution,and collaborative networks.Methods:The Scopus database was used to identify relevant publications.A total of 50 documents were selected,comprising 47 articles and 3 reviews published across 16 academic sources.The inclusion criteria focused on publications with substantial relevance to facelift research;this ensured comprehensive coverage of the topic.Key performance indicators(for the authors)such as the number of papers,total citations,h-index,g-index,m-index,HG composite,and Q2 index were calculated.Citation analysis and collaborative network mapping were conducted to identify the leading contributors,including authors,universities,countries,and sources.Results:The findings indicated an annual growth rate of 1.34%,with an average document age of 29.4 years and an average citation count per document of 134.9.The analysis identified the top authors and their collaborative networks,along with key contributions from various universities,countries,and sources.The thematic evolution of facelift research was examined across these 50 papers;this revealed important trends and shifts within the field.Conclusion:This bibliometric analysis offers valuable insights into the development and influence of facelift research over a 52-year span.It highlights significant contributors and outlines thematic shifts,providing directions for future research and collaboration in this field.展开更多

Purpose:With the deep integration of information technologies into urban governance,smart communities have emerged as pivotal platforms for advancing sustainable urban development.However,existing research has not off...Purpose:With the deep integration of information technologies into urban governance,smart communities have emerged as pivotal platforms for advancing sustainable urban development.However,existing research has not offered a systematic analysis or clear presentation of the field’s academic evolution and thematic structure.This study examines the literature on smart communities published between 2000 and 2024.Employing data analysis and visualization tools,it aims to trace the evolution and development trends of smart community research,map its core themes and their interrelationships,and provide actionable insights for policymaking and practical implementation.Design/methodology/approach:Based on 2,347 publications indexed in the Web of Science from 2000 to 2024,this study employed CiteSpace and VOSviewer to conduct co-citation analysis,keyword co-occurrence mapping,national collaboration network analysis,author and institutional contribution assessment,burst detection,and hotspot term analysis.The literature screening adhered to predefined publication-type criteria and citation-count thresholds to ensure that the results were representative and reliable.Findings:This study,through literature analysis and data visualization in the field of smart communities,yields the following principal conclusions.First,the application of digital twin technology in optimizing smart community resources has attracted growing attention,demonstrating considerable potential in urban management,infrastructure maintenance,and resident services.Second,as technology advances,digitaltwin applications are evolving towards greater precision and efficiency,particularly by deepening their support for resource allocation and decision-making processes.Finally,the future development of smart communities will increasingly depend on the deep integration of digital twins with other cutting-edge technologies,thereby driving intelligent management and optimization of community resources.Research limitations:This literature repository excludes grey literature and non-English publications,potentially underestimating the representativeness of grassroots innovation.Furthermore,the temporal analysis was constrained by the citation-lag effects of publications from 2000 to 2024.Practical implications:This study proposes a decision-support toolkit tailored for municipal planners and policymakers.The toolkit comprises three core intervention strategies:multiscale environmental sensing,participatory governance protocols,and regenerative technology pathways.These measures are designed to advance the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11:Sustainable Cities and Communities.Originality/value:By explicitly defining and applying the“thematic knowledge framework,”this paper offers a concise roadmap for the evolution of smart community research.It also provides precise guidance for designing and implementing community development strategies that align with Sustainable Development Goals.展开更多

文摘Purpose:With the deep integration of information technologies into urban governance,smart communities have emerged as pivotal platforms for advancing sustainable urban development.However,existing research has not offered a systematic analysis or clear presentation of the field’s academic evolution and thematic structure.This study examines the literature on smart communities published between 2000 and 2024.Employing data analysis and visualization tools,it aims to trace the evolution and development trends of smart community research,map its core themes and their interrelationships,and provide actionable insights for policymaking and practical implementation.Design/methodology/approach:Based on 2,347 publications indexed in the Web of Science from 2000 to 2024,this study employed CiteSpace and VOSviewer to conduct co-citation analysis,keyword co-occurrence mapping,national collaboration network analysis,author and institutional contribution assessment,burst detection,and hotspot term analysis.The literature screening adhered to predefined publication-type criteria and citation-count thresholds to ensure that the results were representative and reliable.Findings:This study,through literature analysis and data visualization in the field of smart communities,yields the following principal conclusions.First,the application of digital twin technology in optimizing smart community resources has attracted growing attention,demonstrating considerable potential in urban management,infrastructure maintenance,and resident services.Second,as technology advances,digitaltwin applications are evolving towards greater precision and efficiency,particularly by deepening their support for resource allocation and decision-making processes.Finally,the future development of smart communities will increasingly depend on the deep integration of digital twins with other cutting-edge technologies,thereby driving intelligent management and optimization of community resources.Research limitations:This literature repository excludes grey literature and non-English publications,potentially underestimating the representativeness of grassroots innovation.Furthermore,the temporal analysis was constrained by the citation-lag effects of publications from 2000 to 2024.Practical implications:This study proposes a decision-support toolkit tailored for municipal planners and policymakers.The toolkit comprises three core intervention strategies:multiscale environmental sensing,participatory governance protocols,and regenerative technology pathways.These measures are designed to advance the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11:Sustainable Cities and Communities.Originality/value:By explicitly defining and applying the“thematic knowledge framework,”this paper offers a concise roadmap for the evolution of smart community research.It also provides precise guidance for designing and implementing community development strategies that align with Sustainable Development Goals.
文摘This article explores the styles and characteristics of thematic art creation in Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan regions,analyzing the uniqueness of these regions’artistic backgrounds,artistic languages,theme selections,and expressive techniques.The art creation in Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan regions is deeply influenced by traditional Chinese culture while incorporating Western artistic elements,exhibiting a diversified artistic style.Thematic art creation in these three regions has its own distinct features,including a deep exploration of local culture and a sensitive capture of the spirit of the times,which together constitute a rich and colorful artistic landscape in Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan regions.
文摘Based on the theory of thematic complexity, a contrastive analysis on 2 sections selected from research articles-method and discussion, was conducted. The differences and similarities between the 2 sections in simple theme, multiple theme, textual theme, interpersonal theme, topical theme and thematic progression were analyzed and concluded. The author believes that the causes of the differences and similarities are the different genre features of the 2 sections and the academic features of the materials selected.
