Classification of research articles is fundamental to analyze and understand research literature. Underlying concepts from both text analytics and concept mining form a foundation for the development of a quantitative...Classification of research articles is fundamental to analyze and understand research literature. Underlying concepts from both text analytics and concept mining form a foundation for the development of a quantitative heuristic methodology, the Scale of Theoretical and Applied Research (STAR), for classifying research. STAR demonstrates how concept mining may be used to classify research with respect to its theoretical and applied emphases. This research reports on evaluating the STAR heuristic classifier using the Business Analytics domain, by classifying 774 Business Analytics articles from 23 journals. The results indicate that STAR effectively evaluates overall article content of journals to be consistent with the expert opinion of journal editors with regard to the research type disposition of the respective journals.展开更多
The importance of an interdisciplinary investigation into the translation of publicity texts cannot be overestimated at a time when the role of international communication grows rapidly,which in turn pushes the develo...The importance of an interdisciplinary investigation into the translation of publicity texts cannot be overestimated at a time when the role of international communication grows rapidly,which in turn pushes the development of globalization.Ecotranslatology takes the concept of"adaptation/selection"of Darwin’s Evolution Theory as its theoretical foundation,focusing on the integrity of the translation ecosystem,making a novel description and interpretation to the nature,process,standard,principles,methods of translation and translation phenomena from the perspective of Eco-translatology.Though the construct of the theory keeps expanding,there is still a lack of systematic discussion on translation activities with focus on the integrity and harmony in Eco-translatology.This study therefore aims to promote the need of researching publicity text translation from an Ecotranslatological perspective through the review of the existing literature in this field.展开更多

With the purpose of having a...In recent years,the Mars Text,a kind of newly born Internet language,has gained its surprising popularity among the younger generation,which arouses the intense opposition from the adults. With the purpose of having a profound and proper understanding of it,a comparative research of the characteristics of the Mars Text and Chinese has been conducted to identify the nature of the former,followed by discussions of the reasons behind its development and the current attitudes held by different social groups towards it. In summary,the Mars Text,as a creative symbol system,deserves respect from social members,but needs to be utilized in a culturally appropriate way.展开更多
<strong>Aim: </strong>To clarify transformation of the participants’ consciousness for rebuilding the community and its factors from the discussion contents by actions for male elderly people in Town A in...<strong>Aim: </strong>To clarify transformation of the participants’ consciousness for rebuilding the community and its factors from the discussion contents by actions for male elderly people in Town A in Fukushima prefecture. <strong>Design: </strong>This study was an action research. <strong>Method: </strong>The author verbalized discussion contents of the action conducted in 2018-2019 and analyzed them for each year by the text mining method. <strong>Results: </strong>The word appearance frequency was high in the order of “Person” and “Town A” in both years. One large word network was formed in 2018 and its topic was about what the participants feel in their life in Town A. Two large word networks were formed in 2019 and their topic was about the community participation including difficulty in motivating others such as how people who do not participate can feel like joining it.展开更多
