The genome rearrangement sorting problem is to transform one genome into another using the minimum number of given rearrangement operations. An integer permutation is used to represent a genome in many cases. It can be divided into disjoint strips with each strip denoting a block of consecutive integers. A singleton is a strip of one integer. And the genome rearrange- ment problem turns into the problem of sorting a permutation into the identity permutation equivalently. Hannenhalli and Pevzner designed a polynomial time algorithm for the unsigned reversal sorting problem on those permutations with O(logn) singletons. In this paper, first we describe one case in which Hannenhalli and Pevzner's algorithm may fail and propose a corrected approach. In addition, we propose a (1 + ε)-approximation algorithm for sorting unsigned permutations with O(log n) singletons by reversals of weight 1 and transpositions/transreversals of weight 2.展开更多

Up to date, all reported the active transposable elements in rice (Oryza sativa L.) are copia like retrotransposons. In the present study, the reverse transcriptase domains of copia like retrotransposons were amplified from the total DNA isolated from the mutant plants with the degenerated oligonucleotide primers for the domain. Three cloned insert DNAs, R33 1, R33 4 and R33 8, representing putative different copia like retrotransposons were screened out. Two of them displayed high polymorphism between “Zhaiyeqing 8” and “Jingxi 17”. Nine of the polymorphic bands were mapped on seven rice chromosomes. Sequencing analysis revealed that stop codons frequently occur in the sequence of R33 8, while both R33 1 and R33 4 contain a continuous coding region for 81 putative amino acid residues. No significant variation in hybridization patterns was found between indica and japonica rice or among 26 varieties of indica rice when R33 1 was used as a probe. Nevertheless, when R33 4 was used as a probe, high polymorphisms were detected both between indica and japonica rice and among 26 indica varieties, implying that this element might still be active in rice genomes.展开更多

DNA sequences flanking the T-DNA were analyzed with inverse PCR. Results showed that 65.4% of the T-DNA was integrated in different locations of rice genome, and some T-DNA flanking sequences were located on certain chromosomes. A number of T-DNA was found to have inserted into protein coding regions. In order to induce transposition of the inserted Ds elements, 354 crosses of Ac x Ds and Ds x Ac were constructed. The excision frequency of Ds element trans-activated by Ac transposase was 22.7% in the F-2 populations, and the transposition was confirmed with analyses of DNA sequences flanking the Ds elements. In addition to the transposition due to 'cut-paste' mechanism, Ds can replicate itself and integrate into a new locus, and inaccurate excisions were also found. A proportion of DNA segments flanking the Ds elements showed no homologies to sequences published in GenBank, of which two were registered under the accession numbers AF355153 and AF355770. The strategy of using transposon tagging for rice genomics study was discussed.展开更多

Evidence is presentedto show that transposable elements in Spirulina platensis is actually reflected on the phenotype change, i.e., helical to straight filaments. Transposition intermediates of DNA were isolated from the extrachromo-some and the transposition was related to helical variations in Spirulina. Uses of transposable elements formicroalgal recombination are discussed based on the transposition mechanism.展开更多

When muscle weakness occurs, or after failure of more conservative treatments, anterior transposition is used. In the present study, the ulnar nerve and its blood vessels were examined in the elbows of 18 adult cadavers, and the external diameter of the nutrient vessels of the ulnar nerve at the point of origin, the distances between the origin of the vessels and the medial epicondyle of the humerus, and the length of the vessels accompanying the ulnar nerve in the superior ulnar collateral artery, the inferior ulnar collateral artery, and the posterior ulnar recurrent artery were measured. Anterior transposition of the vascularized ulnar nerve was per- formed to treat cubital tunnel syndrome. The most appropriate distance that the vascularized ulnar nerve can be moved to the subcutaneous tissue under tension-free conditions was 1.8 ± 0.6 cm (1.1-2.5 cm), which can be used as a reference value during the treatment of cubital tunnel syndrome with anterior transposition of the vascularized ulnar nerve.展开更多

To observe the effect of nerve regeneration and motor function recovery after several types of nerve transposition for median nerve defect(2 mm), 30 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham operation group, epineurial neurorrhaphy group, musculocutaneous nerve transposition group, medial pectoral nerve transposition group, and radial nerve muscular branch transposition group. Three months after nerve repair, the wrist flexion test was used to evaluate the recovery of wrist flexion after regeneration of median nerve in the affected limbs of rats. The number of myelinated nerve fibers, the thickness of myelin sheath, the diameter of axons and the cross-sectional area of axons in the proximal and distal segments of the repaired nerves were measured by osmic acid staining. The ratio of newly produced distal myelinated nerve fibers to the number of proximal myelinated nerve fibers was calculated. Wet weights of the flexor digitorum superficialis muscles were measured. Muscle fiber morphology was detected using hematoxylin-eosin staining. The cross-sectional area of muscle fibers was calculated to assess the recovery of muscles. Results showed that wrist flexion function was restored, and the nerve grew into the distal effector in all three nerve transposition groups and the epineurial neurorrhaphy group. There were differences in the number of myelinated nerve fibers in each group. The magnification of proximal to distal nerves was 1.80, 3.00, 2.50, and 3.12 in epineurial neurorrhaphy group, musculocutaneous nerve transposition group, medial pectoral nerve transposition group, and radial nerve muscular branch transposition group, respectively. Nevertheless, axon diameters of new nerve fibers, cross-sectional areas of axons, thicknesses of myelin sheath, wet weights of flexor digitorum superficialis muscle and cross-sectional areas of muscle fibers of all three groups of donor nerves from different anterior horn motor neurons after nerve transposition were similar to those in the epineurial neurorrhaphy group. Our findings indicate that donor nerve translocation from different anterior horn motor neurons can effectively repair the target organs innervated by the median nerve. The corresponding spinal anterior horn motor neurons obtain functional reinnervation and achieve some degree of motor function in the affected limbs.展开更多

In this study, the distal stump of the right sciatic nerve in a rat model of sciatic nerve injury was connected to the proximal end of the left sciatic nerve using a chitin conduit. Neuroelectrophysiological test showed that the right lower limb displayed nerve conduction, and the structure of myelinated nerve fibers recovered greatly. Muscle wet weight of the anterior tibialis and gastrocnemius recovered as well. Multiple-model resting-state blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging analysis revealed functional remodeling in multiple brain regions and the re-establishment of motor and sensory functions through a new reflex arc. These findings suggest that sciatic nerve transposition repair induces brain functional remodeling. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Peking University People's Hospital on December 9, 2015(approval No. 2015-50).展开更多

We investigated whether a small gap bio-sleeve suture with different inner diameters at both ends can be used to repair a 2-mm tibial nerve defect by proximal transposition of the common peroneal nerve in rats and compared the results with the repair seen after epineurial neurorrhaphy. Three months after surgery, neurological function, nerve regeneration, and recovery of nerve innervation muscle were assessed using the tibial nerve function index, neuroelectrophysiological testing, muscle biomechanics and wet weight measurement, osmic acid staining, and hematoxylin-eosin staining. There was no obvious inflammatory reaction and neuroma formation in the tibial nerve after repair by the small gap bio-sleeve suture with different inner diameters at both ends. The conduction velocity, muscle strength, wet muscle weight, cross-sectional area of muscle fibers, and the number of new myelinated nerve fibers in the biosleeve suture group were similar to those in the epineurial neurorrhaphy group. Our findings indicate that small gap bio-sleeve suture with different inner diameters at both ends can achieve surgical suture between nerves of different diameters and promote regeneration and functional recovery of injured peripheral nerves.展开更多

Intra-operatively, an intramural left coronary artery was identified. Therefore, since age 7 years he had a series of screening exercise stress tests. At 13 years old, he had 3 to 4 mm ST segment depression in the infero-lateral leads without symptoms. This progressed to 4.2 mm inferior ST segment depression at 15 years old with normal stress echocardiogram. Sestamibi myocardial perfusion scan and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging was inconclusive. Therefore, a coronary angiogram was obtained which showed complete occlusion of the LMCA with ample collateralization from the right coronary artery system. This was later confirmed on a computed tomogram(CT) angiogram, obtained in preparation of coronary artery bypass grafting. The case illustrates the difficulty of detecting coronary artery stenosis and occlusion in young patients with rich collateralization. Coronary CT angiogram and conventional angiography were the best imaging modalities to detect coronary anomalies in this adolescent with surgically corrected TGA. Screening CT angiography may be warranted for TGA patients, particularly for those with known coronary anomalies.展开更多

From April 2010 to January 2015, we enrolled in this study 4 patients diagnosed with middle and lower trunk root avulsion injuries of the brachial plexus via imaging tests, electrophysiological examinations, and clinical confirmation. Muscular branches of the radial nerve, which innervate the supinator in the forearm, were transposed to the posterior interosseous nerve to reconstruct the thumb and finger extension function. Electrophysiological findings and muscle strength of the extensor pollicis longus and extensor digitorum communis, as well as the distance between the thumb tip and index finger tip, were monitored. All patients were followed up for 24 to 30 months, with an average of 27.5 months. Motor unit potentials(MUP) of the extensor digitorum communis appeared at an average of 3.8 months, while MUP of the extensor pollicis longus appeared at an average of 7 months. Compound muscle action potential(CMAP) appeared at an average of 9 months in the extensor digitorum communis, and 12 months in the extensor pollicis longus. Furthermore, the muscle strength of the extensor pollicis longus and extensor digitorum communis both reached grade Ⅲ at 21 months. Lastly, the average distance between the thumb tip and index finger tip was 8.8 cm at 21 months. In conclusion, for patients with middle and lower trunk injuries of the brachial plexus, transposition of the muscular branches of the radial nerve innervating the supinator to the posterior interosseous nerve for the reconstruction of thumb and finger extension function is practicable and feasible.展开更多

Thus, it is speculated that such patients generally have a poor prognosis. How absent sensory nerve action potential affects surgical outcomes remains uncertain owing to a scarcity of reports and conflicting results. This retrospective study recruited one hundred and fourteen cases(88 patients with absent sensory nerve action potential and 26 patients with present sensory nerve action potential) undergoing either subcutaneous transposition or in situ decompression. The minimum follow-up was set at 2 years. Primary outcome measures of overall hand function included their McGowan grade, modified Bishop score, and Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand Questionnaire(DASH) score. For patients with absent sensory nerve action potential, 71 cases(80.7%) achieved at least one McGowan grade improvement, 76 hands(86.4%) got good or excellent results according to the Bishop score, and the average DASH score improved 49.5 points preoperatively to 13.1 points postoperatively. When compared with the present sensory nerve action potential group, they showed higher postoperative McGowan grades and DASH scores, but there was no statistical difference between the modified Bishop scores of the two groups. Following in situ decompression or subcutaneous transposition, great improvement in hand function was achieved for severe cubital tunnel syndrome patients with absent sensory nerve action potential. The functional outcomes after surgery for severe cubital tunnel syndrome are worse in patients with absent sensory nerve action potential than those without. This study was approved by the Ethical Committee of Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, China(approval No. 2017142).展开更多

So it is an important condition for satisfying joint performance that each strand of the cable inside the joint is able to come to the outermost by transposition. This paper presents analysis, calculation and figures for the strand transposition. According to the twist procedures of the superconducting cable, the author computed the actual pitch of each stage cable, consecutively computed the projection of each stage cable on the axis of the cable (z axis) and the corresponding twist angle as the z coordinate changes, which is then drawn by AutoCAD. From the results shown in the figures, the minimal cable length, which enables each strand to transpose almost equally to the outermost of the cable in such a length, call be determined as the optimal joint length.展开更多

To evaluate the efficacy of anterior subcutaneous transposition of the ulnar nerve in patients with moderate to severe cubital tunnel syndrome and to analyze prognostic factors, we retrospectively reviewed 62 patients(65 elbows) diagnosed with cubital tunnel syndrome who underwent anterior subcutaneous transposition. Preoperatively, the initial severity of the disease was evaluated using the Mc Gowan scale as modified by Goldberg: 18 patients(28%) had grade IIA neuropathy, 20(31%) had grade IIB, and 27(42%) had grade III. Postoperatively, according to the Wilson & Krout criteria, treatment outcomes were excellent in 38 patients(58%), good in 16(25%), fair in 7(11%), and poor in 4(6%), with an excellent and good rate of 83%. A negative correlation was found between the preoperative Mc Gowan grade and the postoperative Wilson & Krout score. The patients having fair and poor treatment outcomes had more advanced age, lower nerve conduction velocity, and lower action potential amplitude compared with those having excellent and good treatment outcomes. These results suggest that anterior subcutaneous transposition of the ulnar nerve is effective and safe for the treatment of moderate to severe cubital tunnel syndrome, and initial severity, advancing age, and electrophysiological parameters can affect treatment outcome.展开更多

文摘The Agrobacterium mediated transgenic rice ( Oryza saliva L.) population with inserts of maize transposon Activator/Dissociation (Ac/Ds) was investigated. The strategy of using transposon tagging for rice genomics study was discussed.
文摘Transposable elements in cyanobacteria are briefly reviewed. Evidence is presentedto show that transposable elements in Spirulina platensis is actually reflected on the phenotype change, i.e., helical to straight filaments. Transposition intermediates of DNA were isolated from the extrachromo-some and the transposition was related to helical variations in Spirulina. Uses of transposable elements formicroalgal recombination are discussed based on the transposition mechanism.

文摘Cubital tunnel syndrome is often accompanied by paresthesia in ulnar nerve sites and hand muscle atrophy. The most appropriate distance that the vascularized ulnar nerve can be moved to the subcutaneous tissue under tension-free conditions was 1.8 ± 0.6 cm (1.1-2.5 cm), which can be used as a reference value during the treatment of cubital tunnel syndrome with anterior transposition of the vascularized ulnar nerve.

文摘Our previous studies have confirmed that during nerve transposition repair to injured peripheral nerves, the regenerated nerve fibers of motor neurons in the anterior horn of the spinal cord can effectively repair distal nerve and target muscle tissue and restore muscle motor function. The corresponding spinal anterior horn motor neurons obtain functional reinnervation and achieve some degree of motor function in the affected limbs.

文摘Lower extremity nerve transposition repair has become an important treatment strategy for peripheral nerve injury;however, brain changes caused by this surgical procedure remain unclear. 2015-50).

文摘During peripheral nerve transposition repair, if the diameter difference between transposed nerves is large or multiple distal nerves must be repaired at the same time, traditional epineurial neurorrhaphy has the problem of high tension at the suture site, which may even lead to the failure of nerve suture. Our findings indicate that small gap bio-sleeve suture with different inner diameters at both ends can achieve surgical suture between nerves of different diameters and promote regeneration and functional recovery of injured peripheral nerves.
文摘A 15-year-old boy with transposition of the great arteries(TGA) and neonatal arterial switch operation(ASO) presented with complete occlusion of the left main coronary artery(LMCA). Screening CT angiography may be warranted for TGA patients, particularly for those with known coronary anomalies.
文摘This study aimed to investigate the reconstruction of the thumb and finger extension function in patients with middle and lower trunk root avulsion injuries of the brachial plexus. In conclusion, for patients with middle and lower trunk injuries of the brachial plexus, transposition of the muscular branches of the radial nerve innervating the supinator to the posterior interosseous nerve for the reconstruction of thumb and finger extension function is practicable and feasible.

文摘In recent years, with the continuous deepening of smart city construction, there have been significant changes and improvements in the field of intelligent transportation. The semantic segmentation of road scenes has important practical significance in the fields of automatic driving, transportation planning, and intelligent transportation systems. However, the current mainstream lightweight semantic segmentation models in road scene segmentation face problems such as poor segmentation performance of small targets and insufficient refinement of segmentation edges. Therefore, this article proposes a lightweight semantic segmentation model based on the LiteSeg model improvement to address these issues. The model uses the lightweight backbone network MobileNet instead of the LiteSeg backbone network to reduce the network parameters and computation, and combines the Coordinate Attention(CA)mechanism to help the network capture long-distance dependencies. At the same time,by combining the dependencies of spatial information and channel information, the Spatial and Channel Network(SCNet)attention mechanism is proposed to improve the feature extraction ability of the model. Finally,a multiscale transposed attention encoding(MTAE)module was proposed to obtain features of different resolutions and perform feature fusion. In this paper, the proposed model is verified on the Cityscapes dataset. The experimental results show that the addition of SCNet and MTAE modules increases the mean Intersection over Union(mIoU)of the original LiteSeg model by 4.69%.On this basis, the backbone network is replaced with MobileNet,and the CA model is added at the same time.At the cost of increasing the minimum model parameters and computing costs, the mIoU of the original LiteSeg model is increased by 2.46%.This article also compares the proposed model with some current lightweight semantic segmentation models, and experiments show that the comprehensive performance of the proposed model is the best, especially in achieving excellent results in small object segmentation. Finally, this article will conduct generalization testing on the KITTI dataset for the proposed model, and the experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a certain degree of generalization.

文摘For severe cubital tunnel syndrome, patients with absent sensory nerve action potential tend to have more severe nerve damage than those without. 2017142).
文摘In an integrated structure low resistance CICC joint, current is conducted by outer cable strands coming into touch with the conductive Cu sole. From the results shown in the figures, the minimal cable length, which enables each strand to transpose almost equally to the outermost of the cable in such a length, call be determined as the optimal joint length.

文摘Although several surgical procedures exist for treating cubital tunnel syndrome, the best surgical option remains controversial. These results suggest that anterior subcutaneous transposition of the ulnar nerve is effective and safe for the treatment of moderate to severe cubital tunnel syndrome, and initial severity, advancing age, and electrophysiological parameters can affect treatment outcome.

文摘The piggyBac transposon has been long used to integrate foreign DNA into insect genomes. However, undesirable transgene expression can result from random insertions into the genome. In this study, the efficiency of chimeric Gal4-piggyBac transposase in directing integration onto a DNA target plasmid was evaluated in cultured silkworm Bombyx mori Bm-12 and fruit fly Drosophila Schneider 2(S2) cells. The Gal4-piggyBac transposase has a Gal4 DNA-binding domain(DBD),and the target plasmid has upstream activating sequences(UAS) to which the Gal4 DBD can bind with high affinity. The results indicate that,in the Bm-12 and S2 cells, transpositional activity of Gal4-piggyBac transposase was increased by 4.0 and 7.5 times, respectively, compared to controls, where Gal4-UAS interaction was absent. Moreover, the Gal4-piggyBac transposase had the ability of directing piggyBac element integration to certain sites of the target plasmid, although the target-directing specificity was not as high as expected. The chimeric piggyBac transposase has the potential for use in site-directed transgenesis and gene function research in B.mori.
文摘Genetic analyses of patients with transposition of the great arteries have identified rare copy number variations, suggesting that they may be significant to the aetiology of the disease. This paper reports the identification of a 16 p11.2 microduplication,a variation that has yet to be reported in association with transposition of the great arteries. The 16 p11.2 microduplication is associated with autism spectrum disorder and developmental delay, but with highly variable phenotypic effects.Autism and attention deficit disorders are observed more frequently in children with congenital heart disease than in the general population.Neonatal surgery is proposed as a risk factor, but as yet unidentified genetic abnormalities should also be taken into account. Thus, congenital heart abnormalities may constitute a part of the phenotypic spectrum associated with duplications at 16 p11.2.We suggest chromosomal microarray be considered part of the diagnostic work-up in patients with transposition of the great arteries.
