Chemotherapy-induced diarrhea(CID)is a major concern for cancer patients and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality.Currently,the clinical management of CID is limited.The utilization of antidiarrheal ...Chemotherapy-induced diarrhea(CID)is a major concern for cancer patients and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality.Currently,the clinical management of CID is limited.The utilization of antidiarrheal medications,such as loperamide and octreotide,is relatively limited because of their unsatisfactory efficacy and adverse effects.In recent years,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has attracted great interest because of its beneficial effect in treating CID,which has multitarget and low-toxicity therapeutic characteristics.TCM exhibits remarkable therapeutic potential in the prevention and treatment of CID.It can alleviate and treat CID by regulating chemical drug metabolism,improving the integrity of the intestinal barrier,stimulating proliferation while suppressing the apoptosis of intestinal epithelial cells,ameliorating oxidative stress and inflammation and regulating bile acids and aquaporins.However,large-scale,randomized,double-blind clinical trials of TCM for the treatment of CID are lacking,and most preclinical experiments have not been translated to clinical trials.Accordingly,this review highlights the clinical efficacy and molecular mechanisms of TCM against CID via PubMed,Web of Science and China National Knowledge Infrastructure and proposes that future research on TCM against CID should focus on strengthening the connection from bench to bed,which may help to comprehensively evaluate the therapeutic potential of TCM against CID.展开更多

Objective:To analyze the application value of prescription management of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in reducing unreasonable prescriptions.Methods:From January to June 2024,before improving prescrip...Objective:To analyze the application value of prescription management of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in reducing unreasonable prescriptions.Methods:From January to June 2024,before improving prescription management strategies,118 patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine formula granules were included in the control group.From July to December 2024,after improving prescription management strategies,118 patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine formula granules were included in the observation group.The unqualified prescription rate,incidence of adverse reactions,complaint rate,and satisfaction were compared.Results:The unqualified prescription rate of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);the incidence of adverse reactions and patient complaint rate of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);the satisfaction of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Improving the prescription management strategy of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules can reduce the unqualified prescription rate and the incidence of adverse drug reactions,reduce patient complaints,and is conducive to improving patient satisfaction.展开更多

Modern western medicine typically focuses on treating specific symptoms or diseases,and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)emphasizes the interconnections of the body’s various systems under external environment and ta...Modern western medicine typically focuses on treating specific symptoms or diseases,and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)emphasizes the interconnections of the body’s various systems under external environment and takes a holistic approach to preventing and treating diseases.Phenomics was initially introduced to the field of TCM in 2008 as a new discipline that studies the laws of integrated and dynamic changes of human clinical phenomes under the scope of the theories and practices of TCM based on phenomics.While TCM Phenomics 1.0 has initially established a clinical phenomic system centered on Zhenghou(a TCM definition of clinical phenome),bottlenecks remain in data standardization,mechanistic interpretation,and precision intervention.Here,we systematically elaborates on the theoretical foundations,technical pathways,and future challenges of integrating digital medicine with TCM phenomics under the framework of“TCM phenomics 2.0”,which is supported by digital medicine technologies such as artificial intelligence,wearable devices,medical digital twins,and multi-omics integration.This framework aims to construct a closed-loop system of“Zhenghou–Phenome–Mechanism–Intervention”and to enable the digitization,standardization,and precision of disease diagnosis and treatment.The integration of digital medicine and TCM phenomics not only promotes the modernization and scientific transformation of TCM theory and practice but also offers new paradigms for precision medicine.In practice,digital tools facilitate multi-source clinical data acquisition and standardization,while AI and big data algorithms help reveal the correlations between clinical Zhenghou phenomes and molecular mechanisms,thereby improving scientific rigor in diagnosis,efficacy evaluation,and personalized intervention.Nevertheless,challenges persist,including data quality and standardization issues,shortage of interdisciplinary talents,and insufficiency of ethical and legal regulations.Future development requires establishing national data-sharing platforms,strengthening international collaboration,fostering interdisciplinary professionals,and improving ethical and legal frameworks.Ultimately,this approach seeks to build a new disease identification and classification system centered on phenomes and to achieve the inheritance,innovation,and modernization of TCM diagnostic and therapeutic patterns.展开更多

This review highlights the therapeutic qualities of crustaceans such as crabs,shrimps,lobsters,and similar species that have historically been utilized for promoting human health.This study is particularly valuable as...This review highlights the therapeutic qualities of crustaceans such as crabs,shrimps,lobsters,and similar species that have historically been utilized for promoting human health.This study is particularly valuable as our reliance on synthetic medications and chemicals for maintaining good health increases,often leading to numerous side effects.Thus,there is a pressing need to explore alternative and natural solutions that can enhance general well-being and avert illnesses.Crustaceans were found to have numerous compounds that possess qualities such as fighting microbial pathogens(antimicrobial),diminishing inflammation(anti-inflammatory),exhibiting antioxidant properties,and regulating the immune system(immuno-modulatory),making them helpful in addressing various health issues.This review highlights 25 species of crustaceans for having multiple exceptional benefits to human health.A crucial aspect of this study relied on ancient Vedic medical manuscripts,from which data was gathered regarding the types of crustaceans and their applications for preserving health.We collected data that was determined to uphold these conventional theories.The key findings of the study also include the versatile applications of multiple compounds that can be extracted from crustacean byproducts like their shell wastes.The major compounds are Chitin and Chitosan being greatly utilized in fields like agriculture,cosmetology,in medical sciences for tissue regeneration and drug delivery,paper and textile industry.Compounds like Astaxanthin were observed with positive cardiovascular effect and antioxidant properties while Glucosamine,Chondroitin and Taurine were found to be essential components of bio-metabolic pathways and various bio-synthesizing processes inside human body.Therefore,the research highlights the important contribution of crustaceans in multiple sectors and also points out their economic value.This systematic literature review seeks to serve as a resource for researchers,healthcare providers,and pharmaceutical professionals who utilize insights regarding crustaceans and their beneficial byproducts for sustainable applications in their respective areas.展开更多

The official release of the“Drug Registration Management Measures”in January 2020 marked a new milestone in the classification management of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)registration,ushering in a new era for th...The official release of the“Drug Registration Management Measures”in January 2020 marked a new milestone in the classification management of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)registration,ushering in a new era for the registration and application of innovative TCM drugs.This article provides a detailed analysis of the approval status of innovative TCM drugs,improved new drugs,and ancient classic prescription compound preparations from 2020 to 2024,revealing the significant achievements made in the inheritance and innovation of TCM in China.The study found that the number of New Drug Applications(NDAs)and Investigational New Drug Applications(INDs)have increased annually,with a particularly notable surge in the submission of applications for classic prescription compound preparations.The approval rates for innovative TCM drugs and improved new drugs have significantly increased,along with the streamlining of review and approval process,leading to shorter development cycles and reduced costs.Key findings include:(1)Enterprises demonstrate strong enthusiasm for the research and development of innovative and improved TCM drugs,actively engaging in various types of drug R&D and submissions;(2)Classic prescription compound preparations have become a focal point for enterprises due to their shorter development cycles and lower costs;(3)Improvement to the“three-combined”evidence system has accelerated the R&D process by incorporating real-world data.Through this study,we aim to provide valuable insights for TCM R&D enterprises and policymakers,promoting the sustained prosperity and development of the TCM sector.展开更多

文摘Traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs)have been used for centuries to treat and manage various diseases.However,their effective delivery to targeted sites may be a major challenge due to their poor water solubility,low bio-availability,and potential toxicity.Nanocarriers,such as liposomes,polymeric nanoparticles,inorganic nanoparticles,and organic/inorganic nanohybrids based on active constituents from TCMs have been extensively studied as a promising strategy to improve the delivery of active constituents from TCMs to achieve a higher therapeutic effect with fewer side effects compared to conventional formulations.This article summarizes the recent progress in nanocarrier-based delivery systems.Nanotechnology can broaden the scope of applications of traditional Chinese medicine.The concept of nano-traditional Chinese medicine(nano-TCM)is introduced,and the progress of nanomedicine,the advantages,and the development direction of nano-TCM are reviewed,providing new ideas for the development of nano-TCM.
文摘Objective:To analyze the application value of prescription management of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in reducing unreasonable prescriptions.Methods:From January to June 2024,before improving prescription management strategies,118 patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine formula granules were included in the control group.From July to December 2024,after improving prescription management strategies,118 patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine formula granules were included in the observation group.The unqualified prescription rate,incidence of adverse reactions,complaint rate,and satisfaction were compared.Results:The unqualified prescription rate of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);the incidence of adverse reactions and patient complaint rate of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05);the satisfaction of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Improving the prescription management strategy of traditional Chinese medicine formula granules can reduce the unqualified prescription rate and the incidence of adverse drug reactions,reduce patient complaints,and is conducive to improving patient satisfaction.

文摘Modern western medicine typically focuses on treating specific symptoms or diseases,and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)emphasizes the interconnections of the body’s various systems under external environment and takes a holistic approach to preventing and treating diseases.Phenomics was initially introduced to the field of TCM in 2008 as a new discipline that studies the laws of integrated and dynamic changes of human clinical phenomes under the scope of the theories and practices of TCM based on phenomics.While TCM Phenomics 1.0 has initially established a clinical phenomic system centered on Zhenghou(a TCM definition of clinical phenome),bottlenecks remain in data standardization,mechanistic interpretation,and precision intervention.Here,we systematically elaborates on the theoretical foundations,technical pathways,and future challenges of integrating digital medicine with TCM phenomics under the framework of“TCM phenomics 2.0”,which is supported by digital medicine technologies such as artificial intelligence,wearable devices,medical digital twins,and multi-omics integration.This framework aims to construct a closed-loop system of“Zhenghou–Phenome–Mechanism–Intervention”and to enable the digitization,standardization,and precision of disease diagnosis and treatment.The integration of digital medicine and TCM phenomics not only promotes the modernization and scientific transformation of TCM theory and practice but also offers new paradigms for precision medicine.In practice,digital tools facilitate multi-source clinical data acquisition and standardization,while AI and big data algorithms help reveal the correlations between clinical Zhenghou phenomes and molecular mechanisms,thereby improving scientific rigor in diagnosis,efficacy evaluation,and personalized intervention.Nevertheless,challenges persist,including data quality and standardization issues,shortage of interdisciplinary talents,and insufficiency of ethical and legal regulations.Future development requires establishing national data-sharing platforms,strengthening international collaboration,fostering interdisciplinary professionals,and improving ethical and legal frameworks.Ultimately,this approach seeks to build a new disease identification and classification system centered on phenomes and to achieve the inheritance,innovation,and modernization of TCM diagnostic and therapeutic patterns.

文摘This review highlights the therapeutic qualities of crustaceans such as crabs,shrimps,lobsters,and similar species that have historically been utilized for promoting human health.This study is particularly valuable as our reliance on synthetic medications and chemicals for maintaining good health increases,often leading to numerous side effects.Thus,there is a pressing need to explore alternative and natural solutions that can enhance general well-being and avert illnesses.Crustaceans were found to have numerous compounds that possess qualities such as fighting microbial pathogens(antimicrobial),diminishing inflammation(anti-inflammatory),exhibiting antioxidant properties,and regulating the immune system(immuno-modulatory),making them helpful in addressing various health issues.This review highlights 25 species of crustaceans for having multiple exceptional benefits to human health.A crucial aspect of this study relied on ancient Vedic medical manuscripts,from which data was gathered regarding the types of crustaceans and their applications for preserving health.We collected data that was determined to uphold these conventional theories.The key findings of the study also include the versatile applications of multiple compounds that can be extracted from crustacean byproducts like their shell wastes.The major compounds are Chitin and Chitosan being greatly utilized in fields like agriculture,cosmetology,in medical sciences for tissue regeneration and drug delivery,paper and textile industry.Compounds like Astaxanthin were observed with positive cardiovascular effect and antioxidant properties while Glucosamine,Chondroitin and Taurine were found to be essential components of bio-metabolic pathways and various bio-synthesizing processes inside human body.Therefore,the research highlights the important contribution of crustaceans in multiple sectors and also points out their economic value.This systematic literature review seeks to serve as a resource for researchers,healthcare providers,and pharmaceutical professionals who utilize insights regarding crustaceans and their beneficial byproducts for sustainable applications in their respective areas.

文摘The official release of the“Drug Registration Management Measures”in January 2020 marked a new milestone in the classification management of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)registration,ushering in a new era for the registration and application of innovative TCM drugs.This article provides a detailed analysis of the approval status of innovative TCM drugs,improved new drugs,and ancient classic prescription compound preparations from 2020 to 2024,revealing the significant achievements made in the inheritance and innovation of TCM in China.The study found that the number of New Drug Applications(NDAs)and Investigational New Drug Applications(INDs)have increased annually,with a particularly notable surge in the submission of applications for classic prescription compound preparations.The approval rates for innovative TCM drugs and improved new drugs have significantly increased,along with the streamlining of review and approval process,leading to shorter development cycles and reduced costs.Key findings include:(1)Enterprises demonstrate strong enthusiasm for the research and development of innovative and improved TCM drugs,actively engaging in various types of drug R&D and submissions;(2)Classic prescription compound preparations have become a focal point for enterprises due to their shorter development cycles and lower costs;(3)Improvement to the“three-combined”evidence system has accelerated the R&D process by incorporating real-world data.Through this study,we aim to provide valuable insights for TCM R&D enterprises and policymakers,promoting the sustained prosperity and development of the TCM sector.
