Based on material deterioration mechanisms and incremental dynamic analysis, the time-evolving seismic demands of components were obtained in the form of marginal probability distributions. The time-varying dependences among bridge components were then captured with the best fitting copula function, which was selected from the commonly used copula classes by the empirical distribution based analysis method. The system time-variant fragility curves at different damage states were developed and the effects of time-varying dependences among components on the bridge system fragility were investigated. The results indicate the time-varying dependence among components significantly affects the time-variant fragility of the bridge system. The copula technique captures the nonlinear dependence among component seismic demands accurately and easily by separating the marginal distributions and the dependence among them.展开更多

A sliding mode attitude control algorithm with an exponential time-varying sliding surface is designed, which guarantees the sliding mode occurrence at the beginning and eliminates the reaching phase of time-invariant sliding mode control. The proposed control law is global robust against matched external disturbances and system uncertainties, and ensures the eigenaxis rotation in the presence of disturbances and parametric uncertainties. The stability of the control law and the existence of global siding mode are proved by Lyapunov method. Furthermore, the system states can be fully predicted by the analytical solution of state equations, which indicates that the attitude error does not exhibit any overshoots and the system has a good dynamic response. A control torque command regulator is introduced to ensure the eigenaxis rotation under the actuator saturation. Finally, a numerical simulation is employed to illustrate the advantages of the proposed control law.展开更多

The functional-series time-dependent auto regressive moving average (FS-TARMA) time series model is applied to the vibration signal observed in the time-varying system for estimating the TAR/TMA parameters and the innovation variance. These parameters are the functions of the time, represented by a group of projection coefficients on the certain functional subspace with specific basis functions. The estimated TAR/TMA parameters and the innovation variance are further used to calculate the latent components (LCs) as the more informative data for health monitoring evaluation, based on an eigenvalue decomposition technique. LCs are then combined and reduced to numerical values (NVs) as feature sets, which are input to a probabilistic neural network (PNN) for the damage classification. For the evaluation of the proposed method, numerical simulations of the damage classification for a tlme-varylng system are used, in which different classes of damage are modeled by the mass or stiffness reductions. It is demonstrated that the method can identify the damages in the course of operation and the change of parameters on the time-varying background of the system.展开更多

By employing an augmented Lyapunov functional and combining a free-weighting matrix approach and the reciprocal convex technique, an improved stability condition is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). By retaining some useful terms that are usually ignored in the derivative of the Lyapunov function, the proposed sufficient condition depends not only on the lower and upper bounds of both the delay and its derivative, but it also depends on their differences, which has wider application fields than those of present results. Moreover, a new type of equality expression is developed to handle the sector bounds of the nonlinear function, which achieves fewer LMIs in the derived condition, compared with those based on the convex representation. Therefore, the proposed method is less conservative than the existing ones. Simulation examples are given to demonstrate the validity of the approach.展开更多

First, sufficient conditions of stability for time-varying systems are given by the commonly used parameter-dependent quadratic Lyapunov function. Moreover, the use of homogeneous polynomial Lyapunov functions for the stability analysis of the linear system subject to the time-varying parametric uncertainty is introduced. Sufficient conditions to determine the sought after Lyapunov function is derived via a suitable paramenterization of polynomial homogeneous forms. A numerical example is given to illustrate that the stability conditions are less conservative than similar tests in the literature.展开更多

The key features of the proposed method are to apply singular value decomposition (SVD) to all structural uncertainties and to introduce adjustable parameters for control design along with the SMC method. It leads to a less-conservative condition for robust stability and a new robust controller for the general uncertain stochastic systems via linear matrix inequality (LMI) forms. The system states are able to reach the SMC switching surface as guaranteed in probability 1. Furthermore, it is theoretically proved that the proposed method with the SVD and adjustable parameters is less conservatism than the method without the SVD. The paper is mainly to provide all strict theoretical proofs for the method and results.展开更多

The sliding surfaces of the three types initially pass arbitrary initial values of the system, and then shift or rotate to reach predetermined ones. This way, the system trajectories are always on the sliding surfaces, and the system work is guaranteed to have robustness against parameter uncertainty and external disturbances all the time. The controller parameters are optimized by means of genetic algorithm to minimize the index consisting of the weighted index of squared error (ISE) of the system and the weighted penalty term of violation of control input constraint. The stability is verified with Lyapunov method. Compared with the conventional sliding mode control, simulation results show the proposed algorithm having better robustness against inertia matrix uncertainty and external disturbance torques.展开更多

To o...When used for separating multi-component non-stationary signals, the adaptive time-varying filter(ATF) based on multi-scale chirplet sparse signal decomposition(MCSSD) generates phase shift and signal distortion. To overcome this drawback, the zero phase filter is introduced to the mentioned filter, and a fault diagnosis method for speed-changing gearbox is proposed. Firstly, the gear meshing frequency of each gearbox is estimated by chirplet path pursuit. Then, according to the estimated gear meshing frequencies, an adaptive zero phase time-varying filter(AZPTF) is designed to filter the original signal. Finally, the basis for fault diagnosis is acquired by the envelope order analysis to the filtered signal. The signal consisting of two time-varying amplitude modulation and frequency modulation(AM-FM) signals is respectively analyzed by ATF and AZPTF based on MCSSD. The simulation results show the variances between the original signals and the filtered signals yielded by AZPTF based on MCSSD are 13.67 and 41.14, which are far less than variances (323.45 and 482.86) between the original signals and the filtered signals obtained by ATF based on MCSSD. The experiment results on the vibration signals of gearboxes indicate that the vibration signals of the two speed-changing gearboxes installed on one foundation bed can be separated by AZPTF effectively. Based on the demodulation information of the vibration signal of each gearbox, the fault diagnosis can be implemented. Both simulation and experiment examples prove that the proposed filter can extract a mono-component time-varying AM-FM signal from the multi-component time-varying AM-FM signal without distortion.展开更多

A linear distributed consensus protocol is proposed, which only depends on the agent's own information and its neighbors' partial information. By introducing a decomposition of the state vector and performing a state space transformation, the closed-loop dynamics of the multi-agent system is converted into two decoupled subsystems. Based on the decoupled subsystems, some sufficient conditions for the convergence to consensus are established, which provide the upper bounds on the admissible communication delays. Also, the explicit expression of the consensus state is derived. Moreover, the results on the consensus seeking of the group of high-order agents have been extended to a network of agents with dynamics modeled as a completely controllable linear time-invariant system. It is proved that the convergence to consensus of this network is equivalent to that of the group of high-order agents. Finally, some numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the main results.展开更多

文摘The dynamics of network power response play a crucial role in system stability. However, the integration of power electronic equipment leads to amplitude and angular frequency(abbreviated as"frequency")time-varying characteristics of the node voltage during dynamic processes. As a result, traditional calcu-lation methods for and characteristics of the power response of the network based on phasor and impe-dance lose their validity. Therefore, this paper undertakes mathematical calculations to reveal the power response of a network under excitation by voltage with time-varying amplitude and frequency(TVAF),relying on the original mathematical relationships and superimposed step response. Then, the multi-timescale characteristics of both the active and reactive power of the network are explored physically.Additionally, this paper reveals a new phenomenon of storing and releasing the active and reactive power of the network. To meet practical engineering requirements,a simplified power expression is presented. Finally, the theoretical analysis is validated through time-domain simulations.

文摘An eigenaxis maneuver strategy with global robustness is studied for large angle attitude maneuver of rigid spacecraft. Finally, a numerical simulation is employed to illustrate the advantages of the proposed control law.
文摘A new approach to damage classification for health monitoring of a time-varylng system is presented. It is demonstrated that the method can identify the damages in the course of operation and the change of parameters on the time-varying background of the system.

文摘The delay-dependent absolute stability for a class of Lurie systems with interval time-varying delay is studied. Simulation examples are given to demonstrate the validity of the approach.

文摘This paper proposes a new adaptive iterative learning control approach for a class of nonlinearly parameterized systems with unknown time-varying delay and unknown control direction.By employing the parameter separation technique and signal replacement mechanism, the approach can overcome unknown time-varying parameters and unknown time-varying delay of the nonlinear systems.By incorporating a Nussbaum-type function, the proposed approach can deal with the unknown control direction of the nonlinear systems.Based on a Lyapunov-Krasovskii-like composite energy function, the convergence of tracking error sequence is achieved in the iteration domain. Finally, two simulation examples are provided to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed control method.

文摘This paper considers the stability analysis of linear continuous-time systems, and that the dynamic matrices are affected by uncertain time-varying parameters, which are assumed to be bounded, continuously differentiable, with bounded rates of variation. A numerical example is given to illustrate that the stability conditions are less conservative than similar tests in the literature.

文摘This paper presents a new robust sliding mode control (SMC) method with well-developed theoretical proof for general uncertain time-varying delay stochastic systems with structural uncertainties and the Brownian noise (Wiener process). The paper is mainly to provide all strict theoretical proofs for the method and results.
文摘To solve the problem of attitude tracking of a rigid spacecraft with an either known or measurable desired attitude trajectory, three types of time-varying sliding mode controls are introduced under consideration of control input constraints. Compared with the conventional sliding mode control, simulation results show the proposed algorithm having better robustness against inertia matrix uncertainty and external disturbance torques.

文摘When used for separating multi-component non-stationary signals, the adaptive time-varying filter(ATF) based on multi-scale chirplet sparse signal decomposition(MCSSD) generates phase shift and signal distortion. Both simulation and experiment examples prove that the proposed filter can extract a mono-component time-varying AM-FM signal from the multi-component time-varying AM-FM signal without distortion.

文摘This paper studies the consensus problems for a group of agents with switching topology and time-varying communication delays, where the dynamics of agents is modeled as a high-order integrator. Finally, some numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the main results.
