文摘Environmental DNA(e DNA)methods have emerged as a promising tool for studying a broad spectrum of biological taxa. However, metabarcoding studies of avian biodiversity using e DNA have received little attention. In this study,we compared waterbird biodiversity derived from e DNA metabarcoding with that obtained from traditional point counting surveys at 23 sites in Tai Lake of eastern China and evaluated the accuracy of e DNA metabarcoding for waterbird community studies. The point counting method recorded a higher total number of waterbird species(22)compared to the e DNA technique(16).While e DNA achieved a 74.5%detection rate for waterbird species and was able to identify a significantly greater number of species(12.48±1.97)at each sampling site than point counting method(6.13±2.69),particularly highlighting several rare and elusive species,it failed to detect some species commonly observed by the point counting method. The alpha diversity analysis revealed no significant differences in waterbird diversity between the e DNA method and the point counting method, except that the e DNA method exhibited lower Pielou evenness.Waterbird e DNA sequencing abundance correlated significantly with species occurrence, whereas Spearman's analysis indicated no significant difference between e DNA sequence abundance and species abundance from the point counting method.e DNA method detected no significant difference in waterbird composition between sampling sites, while the point counting method revealed significant differences.Consequently,e DNA is an effective complementary tool for assessing the diversity of wintering waterbirds in lakes, though it is unable to capture the full diversity of waterbird communities. It is crucial to develop sampling strategies that comprehensively monitor species composition and integrate e DNA with traditional survey methods for accurate evaluation of community structure.

文摘The optical absorption of large molecular compounds HULIS(humic-like substances)can significantly impact the aerosol light absorption and radiative forcing, influencing cloud condensation nuclei formation and thus the climate and atmospheric environment. This study collected aerosol(PM_(2.5))samples from the summit of Mount Tai in North China to investigate the concentration, molecular composition, and optical properties of HULIS.The average concentration of HULIS in the PM_(2.5) in this study was 1.26±0.54μg/m^(3),comprising for 56%of the water-soluble organic carbon(WSOC),with levels lower than urban areas but higher than other mountainous regions.Mass spectrometry revealed that CHO and CHON components, with high aromaticity and phenolic groups, are major contributors to absorption and fluorescence. These results indicate that HULIS is mainly composed of lignin and proteins/amino sugars, derived from combustion and secondary formation, and possesses a high light absorption capacity(withMAE365(mass absorption efficiency)and AAE(A˚ngstrom exponent)indices of 0.62m^(2)/g and 4.99,respectively).Parallel factor analysis identified three fluorescence components of HULIS,with proportions of 60.8%for less oxygen humic-like substances,21.0%for high oxygen humic-like substances, and 18.2%for protein-like substances. Our study highlights the significance of the light-absorbing capacity and secondary formation of HULIS at Mount Tai,laying the groundwork for investigation into the climate effects, formation mechanisms, and sources of HULIS generation.
文摘Background:This study examined the development of Tai Chi in Ottawa,Canada, focusing on:(1)traditions and modernization of Tai Chi in China's mainland;(2)the evolution of Ottawa’s Chinese community;and(3)the role of Ottawa Tai Chi Chuan Association(OTCA)and Taoist Tai Chi Society(TTCS)-in promoting Tai Chi and traditional health practices rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)in Ottawa. Methods:Archive research was used to investigate origins, organizational structures, and programs of the associations.Documents were obtained from the personal collections, websites, and Ottawa Archives.Secondary literature on Tai Chi’s history in China and Chinese immigration to Ottawa provided contextual insights. Results:In the twentieth century,Tai Chi in China's mainland underwent significant transformations, aligning with nation-building,social reform, public health promotion, and cultural influence.Since the 1970s,the demographic composition of Canada’s Chinese community has become diversified. Some community members played a critical role in transmitting Tai Chi to Canada by establishing OTCA and TTCS.Through a variety of Tai Chi programs, workshops, and community engagement,OTCA and TTCS promoted Tai Chi as a holistic health practice rooted in TCM and traditional cultural principles in different approaches.OTCA primarily served the Chinese community, focusing on diverse forms, techniques, and theories. In contrast,Ottawa’s TTCS,as a satellite association, emphasized Taoist-inspired Tai Chi and cultivation passed down by the founder,Moy Linshin,to accommodate members from diverse cultural backgrounds.OTCA and TTCS created inclusive mind-body communities for individuals to engage in Tai Chi as a culturally meaningful practice and a means of fostering social connection and holistic wellness. Conclusion:OTCA and TTCS significantly revitalized while adapted Tai Chi and TCM practices to Western contexts, integrating its historical roots with western health ideas to establish it as a widely recognized mind-body discipline and alternative therapy.

文摘The international communication of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)culture requires finding practical and effective communication methods through multi-dimensional,multi-path,and multi-channel approaches. The research on using Tai Chi to promote the international communication of TCM is still an unexploited new integrated communication path and a new topic with special significance for the internationalization of TCM culture. However, relevant research on this topic has not yet formed a systematic research system in academic circles at home and abroad. The prerequisite for studying how Tai Chi promotes the international communication of TCM culture is in-depth inheritance. The integrated research on the cultural connotation of Tai Chi,based on its return to the category of TCM culture, has important theoretical and practical value for promoting the integrated international communication of TCM culture through Tai Chi.This paper, focusing on the theoretical research on how to use Tai Chi to promote the international communication of TCM culture, proposes integrated research on Tai Chi and TCM culture, and establishes a"trinity"integrated research model of Tai Chi culture,TCM culture, and martial arts culture, laying a theoretical foundation for Tai Chi to promote the international communication of TCM culture.Secondly,in terms of the specific implementation of TCM culture communication with Tai Chi as the main carrier,it is proposed to focus on cultivating the TCM cultural literacy of Tai Chi communicators, and inject into the communication basic TCM elements related to Tai Chi culture, such as Yin-Yang philosophy,TCM culture,TCM Qi theory, and TCM health preservation,so as to sow the seeds of TCM culture wherever Tai Chi is spread internationally.
文摘Catering in scenic areas is an important part of tourist experiences, yet the existing research on catering resources mainly focuses on tourist satisfaction and resource development, with limited analysis on the impact of catering resources distribution on tourists’visiting willingness. Thus, based on case analysis, surveys and data analysis, this study selected Mount Tai Scenic Area as the research object to conduct an in-depth investigation on the impact of the distribution of catering resources on tourists’visiting willingness, which identified many challenges faced by the distribution of catering resources in the scenic area and their underlying causes, finding that while there were rich varieties and concentrated catering options in high-traffic areas with strong tourists’visiting willingness, significant gaps remained in locations with weak tourists’visiting willingness.Furthermore, the overall catering offerings in Mount Tai Scenic Area demonstrated a notable deficiency in food products that authentically integrate with Mount Tai’s distinctive cultural heritage. To address such issues, improvement strategies were proposed for the development of catering resources in Mount Tai Scenic Area, including spatial development and integration, exploration of cultural connotations, and enhancement of tourism value, which provided insights for refining management of catering resources in forest park scenic spot, optimizing catering services, and enhancing the tourism experience of tourists.
