The concepts of radical universality and strong universality based on the concept of natural human rights are too idealistic and thus have a high risk of being alienated into a tool of international re-pression in practice. On the contrary, the theory on the subjectivity of human rights can effectively defuse this risk brought about by radical universality and strong universality. Advocating a transition from the universality of human rights to the subjectivity of human rights not only keeps in line with the actual construction process of international human rights, but can also effectively interpret the practical difficul-ties in the realization process of international human rights. Therefore, it can be used as another alternative theory on human rights beyond the theory of natural human rights.展开更多

文摘We examined the mediating effect of burnout and subjective well-being on the relationship between work-family conflict and learning capacity among college teachers.Using a cross-sectional study design,422 Chinese college teachers(females=57.3%,mean years of service=35.56,SD=6.38)completed the Work-Family Conflict Questionnaire(WFCQ),the Burnout Scale(BS),the Subjective Well-Being Scale(SWBS),and the Teacher Learning Capacity Evaluation Scale(TLCES).The results indicated that work-family conflict had a direct connection with learning capacity.Moreover,work-family conflict had an indirect association with learning capacity through the sequential mediating roles of burnout and subjective well-being.Thesefindings enhanced the understanding of the mechanism of learning capacity and provided new perspectives for the development of learning capacity among college teachers.
文摘AIM:To compare objective dry retinoscopy and subjective refraction measurements in patients with mild keratoconus(KCN)and quantify any differences.METHODS:This cross-sectional study was done on 68 eyes of 68 patients diagnosed with mild KCN.Objective dry retinoscopy using autorefractometer and subjective refraction measurements were performed.Sphere,cylinder,J0,J45,and spherical equivalent values were compared between the two techniques.RESULTS:The mean age of 68 patients with mild KCN was 21.32±5.03y(12–35y).There were 37(54.4%)males.Objective refraction yielded significantly more myopic sphere(-1.44 D vs-0.57 D),higher cylinder magnitude(-2.24 D vs-1.48 D),and more myopic spherical equivalent(-2.56 D vs-1.31 D)compared to subjective refraction(all P<0.05).The mean differences were-0.87 D for sphere,-0.76 D for cylinder,and-1.25 D for spherical equivalent. No significant differences were found for J0 and J45 values, indicating agreement in astigmatism axis(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:In patients with mild KCN,objective dry retinoscopy overestimates the degree of myopia and astigmatism compared to subjective refraction. The irregular cornea in KCN likely impacts objective measurements.Subjective refraction allows compensation for irregularity, providing a more accurate correction. When determining refractive targets, the tendency of objective methods to overcorrect should be considered.

文摘We explored the relationship between Internet altruistic behavior(IAB)and subjective well-being(SWB)to estimate the effects and directionality of that predictive relationship between the two.Employing cross-lagged models we examined the interaction between IAB and SWB,among 339 college students(females=53.10%,mean age=19.02 years,SD=1.56 years). The students were tracked twice in a period of 5 months. Results showed that college students’IAB increased significantly, while their SWB remained relatively stable during the two measurement periods.IAB and SWB had significant simultaneous and sequential correlations.SWB at Time 1 positively predicted IAB at Time 2,however,IAB at Time 1 did not significantly predict SWB at Time 2.Moreover,there was cross-gender invariance in the cross-lagged effect between IAB and SWB.Research topics in the current environment exhibit remarkable practical significance.
文摘This longitudinal study investigated how self-management and learning burnout influences the relationship between habitual mobile phone use and subjective well-being amongfirst-year university students.A sample of 1172 Chinese university students participated in a two-wave survey, with data collected six months apart at two time points(T1,T2).The results of Pearson correlation revealed that higher habitual mobile phone use at T1 was associated with lower subjective well-being at T2.Self-management was associated with healthy phone use habits and higher subjective wellbeing.Learning burnout risk was higher with habitual phone usage.Lower self-management and learning burnout at T2 played a chain mediating role between habitual mobile phone use at T1 and subjective well-being at T2 so that subjective well-being was much lower that with either of the variables alone.Overall, thesefindings suggest that habitual mobile phone use is a reliable predictor of college student’s subjective well-being,by their self-management and level of learning burnout over time. This research highlights the long-term impact of habitual mobile phone use on students’subjective well-being and provides valuable insights for developing effective interventions to support students well-being.

文摘It is common to observe the epidemic risk perception(ERP)and a decline in subjective well-being(SWB)in the context of public health events, such as Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19).However,there have been few studies exploring the impact of individuals’ERP within living space on their SWB,especially from a geographical and daily activity perspective after the resumption of work and other activities following a wave of the pandemic. In this paper,we conducted a study with 789 participants in urban China, measuring their ERP within living space and examining its influence on their SWB using path analysis. The results indicated that individuals’ERP within their living space had a significant negative effect on their SWB.The density of certain types of facilities within their living space, such as bus stops, subway stations, restaurants, fast food shops, convenience shops, hospitals, and public toilets, had a significantly negative impact on their SWB,mediated by their ERP within living space.Additionally, participation in out-of-home work and other activities not only increased individuals’ERP within living space, but also strengthened its negative effect on their SWB.
文摘Universality is one of the essential characteristics of human rights, but there is a substantive difference between idealism and realism in understanding the concept of universality of human rights. Therefore, it can be used as another alternative theory on human rights beyond the theory of natural human rights.

文摘Virginia Woolf’s essay“Street Haunting:A London Adventure”highlights the complex relationships between things and the subject. On the individual’s level, indoor things construct and limit the subject’s identity, while outdoor things allow fluid identities;these things reveal Woolf’s dual identity as both a rebel against and a ruler of the hierarchical system. On the intersubjective level, subjects are linked through common aesthetic experience mediated by things, which enjoys a high degree of arbitrariness. With the help of things, subjects form an“imagined community”.Concerning the relationship between things and the mind, things also endow order in the fragmented reality, yet in this sense they are abstract, metaphysical and universal rather than specific in Virginia Woolf’s thoughts. They are the withdrawn things expressed by sensual qualities. These sensual aspects, however, are tools to reveal the essence and meaning of life, secondary to the mind.
