However, BN are flawed in regard to building models based on inadequate existing knowledge. To overcome this limitation, we propose a new method that links BN with structural equation modeling (SEM). In this method, SEM is used to improve the model structure for BN. This method was used to simulate coastal phytoplankton dynamics in the Bohai Bay. We demonstrate that this hybrid approach minimizes the need for expert elicitation, generates more reasonable structures for BN models, and increases the BN model's accuracy and reliability. These results suggest that the inclusion of SEM for testing and verifying the theoretical structure during the initial construction stage improves the effectiveness of BN models, especially for complex eco-environment systems. The results also demonstrate that in the Bohai Bay, while phytoplankton biomass has the greatest influence on phytoplankton dynamics, the impact of nutrients on phytoplankton dynamics is larger than the influence of the physical environment in summer. Furthermore, although the Redfield ratio indicates that phosphorus should be the primary nutrient limiting factor, our results show that silicate plays the most important role in regulating phytoplankton dynamics in the Bohai Bay.展开更多

文摘With the expanding enrollments in higher education, the quality of col-lege education and the learning gains of students have attracted much attention. It is important to study the influencing factors and mechanisms of individual stu-dents’acquisition of learning gains to improve the quality of talent cultivation in colleges. However,in the context of information security, the original data of learning situation surveys in various universities involve the security of educa-tional evaluation data and daily privacy of teachers and students. To protect the original data, data feature mining and correlation analyses were performed at the model level. This study selected 12,181 pieces of data from X University, which participated in the Chinese College Student Survey(CCSS)from 2018 to 2021.A confirmatory factor analysis was conducted and a structural equation modeling was conducted using AMOS 24.0.Through hypothesis testing, this study explored the mechanisms that influence learning gains from the per-spectives of student involvement, teacher involvement, and school support. The results indicated that the quality of student involvement has an important mediat-ing effect on learning gains and that a supportive campus environment has the greatest influence on learning gains.Establishing positive emotional communica-tions between teachers and students is a more direct and effective method than improving the teaching level to improve the quality of student involvement. This study discusses the implications of these results on the research and practice of connotative development in higher education.

文摘Soundscape is critical in shaping tourists’experiences and perceptions of the acoustic environment of a park.Creating a well-perceived soundscape is an important factor in enhancing the quality of scenic spots and improving visitor satisfaction in parks. This study selected Park 1903 and Xishan Forest Park as examples of urban parks and forest parks to analyze variations in sound levels and sound source types in two different types of parks. Then,a structural equation model was constructed to unveil the correlation between soundscape perception and visitor satisfaction. The results showed that sound source perception was relatively lower in Park 1903 than in Xishan Forest Park, where natural sounds were more popular among tourists.Further, the perceived occurrence of sounds was higher in Park 1903 than in Xishan Forest Park. The sound level in Park 1903 slightly exceeded the noise limit(55 dB(A))for Class 1 acoustic environment functional areas,as per the Environmental Quality Standard for Noise(GB 3096-2008),while the sound level in Xishan Forest Park complied with this standard. In Park 1903,soundscape pleasantness improved with increasing degrees of dominance of artificial sounds. Moreover, soundscape pleasantness and richness in both parks had a positive effect on visitor soundscape satisfaction.Furthermore, gender and education level were the most influential factors for soundscape perception in Park 1903 and Xishan Forest Park, respectively. However, age and place of residence were not correlated with soundscape perception in Xishan Forest Park.In conclusion, the variations in sound sources and visitor characteristics remarkably affected visitor soundscape perception in different types of parks. The findings provide valuable insights and a theoretical basis for designing soundscapes and improving park visitor satisfaction.

文摘Background Actual evapotranspiration(ETa)is a crucial aspect of the hydrological cycle. It serves as a vital link between the soil–vegetation–atmosphere continuum.Quantifying the leading factors of regional ETa change and revealing the multi-factor compound driving mechanism of ETa evolution is necessary.Structural equation modeling(SEM)has been widely used to study the structural relationships between variables in large-scale areas. However, there is an urgent need for more in-depth exploration of these complex relationships at the grid scale. Therefore, the Yiluo River Basin,a representative area of soil and water conservation engineering demonstration in the Loess Plateau, was selected as the study area, and the SEM at the basin scale and grid-scale were constructed to carry out the research. Results The data indicate that ETa decreased at 1.97 mm per year at the watershed scale from 1982 to 2020.Climate change had the greatest impact on the change of ETa in the watershed, with a total impact coefcient of over 0.9.The direct impact of climate change on ETa increased by 0.571 from 1982–1992 to 1993–2020.The direct impact coefcients of vegetation cover and soil moisture decreased by 0.402 and 0.102,respectively,while the impact coeffcient of the water body factors increased by 0.096.At the scale of individual grid cells, the ETa in the watershed was afected by changes in watershed climate, vegetation, and soil moisture, with contributions ranging from−0.31 to 0.22,−1.09 to−0.08,and 0.61 to 0.90,respectively.Spatially,vegetation and soil moisture had a stronger impact on ETa in the upstream area, while climate change had a negative efect, and the downstream region had the opposite efect.Furthermore, the regulatory impact of large reservoirs mitigated the response of water surface evaporation to climate change in the upstream region. Conclusions The application of SEM at diferent spatial and temporal scales has efectively quantifed the driving mechanisms behind actual evapotranspiration in the Yiluo River Basin, while visually representing the spatial distribution characteristics of various infuencing factors on ETa.This research provides a theoretical foundation for studying slope water consumption processes and circulation mechanisms.
文摘The aim of this paper is to understand the factors that influence unsafe driving practices by examining published studies that utilized the theory of planned behavior(TPB)to predict driving behavior. To this end,42 studies published up to the end of 2021 are reviewed to evaluate the predictive utility of TPB by employing a meta-analysis and structural equation model. The results indicate that these studies sought to predict 20 distinct driving behaviors(e.g.,drink-driving,use of cellphone while driving, aggressive driving)using the original TPB constructs and 43 additional variables. The TPB model with the three original constructs is found to account for 32%intentional variance and 34%behavioral variance.Among the 43 variables researchers have examined in TPB studies related to driving behavior, this study identified the six that are commonly used to enhance the TPB model’s predictive power. These variables are past behavior,self-identity,descriptive norm, anticipated regret, risk perception, and moral norm. When past behavior is added to the original TPB model,it increases the explained variance in intention to 52%.When all six factors are added to the original TPB model, the best model has only four variables(perceived risk,self-identity,descriptive norm, and moral norm);and increases the explained variance to 48%.The influence of the TPB constructs on intention is modified by behavior category and traffic category. The findings of this paper validate the application of TPB to predicting driving behavior. It is the first study to do this through the use of meta-analysis and structural equation modeling.

文摘Dentistry is a profession with a high prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs),with symptoms often appearing very early in one’s career[1].WMSDs are conditions affecting the muscles, bones, and nervous system due to occupational factors. In 2002,the International Labor Organization included musculoskeletal diseases in the International List of Occupational Diseases.China’s recently updated Classification and Catalog of Occupational Diseases has introduced two new categories of occupational illnesses, including occupational musculoskeletal disorders.WMSDs significantly impact the health and work of dentists, reducing their quality of life and causing economic losses. These disorders are multifactorial in nature, influenced by personal, psychosocial, biomechanical, and environmental factors.Dentists frequently maintain static or awkward postures during procedures, which leads to musculoskeletal strain and discomfort;additionally, long working hours contribute to psychological stress, further increasing the risk of WMSDs[2].
文摘Interpretive structural modeling(ISM)is an interactive process in which a malformed(bad structured)problem is structured into a comprehensive systematic model.Yet,despite many advantages that ISM provides, this method has some shortcomings, the most important one of which is its reliance on participants’intuition and judgment. This problem undermines the validity of ISM.To solve this problem and further enhance the ISM method, the present study proposes a method called equation structural modeling(ESM),which draws on the capacities of structural equation modeling(SEM).As such,ESM provides a statistically verifiable framework and provides a graphical, hierarchical and intuitive model.

文摘Currently the indoor environment quality is described or evaluated mainly by the subjective or objective data. However, research increasingly has demonstrated that objective and subjective data both had some weaknesses to characterize the indoor environment quality, and they can compensate for each other's relative weaknesses.Hence, this study aims to develop an integration model to allow indoor subjective and objective data to be combined based on the structural equation modeling approach, using the Northeast China residential indoor environmental survey data. The results indicated that the integration model had a good fit for the survey data, and the model validity was confirmed. Moreover,in contrast to the subjective data(R^(2)=0.363)and objective data(R^(2)=0.239),the integrated data(R^(2)=0.553)improved the explanatory power on the satisfaction with the overall indoor environment.Furthermore, this integration model demonstrated that indoor subjective data assigned more weights to the integrated data than the corresponding objective data. The association strength of thermal environment and indoor air quality(0.43 or 0.47)was the strongest among the interactions of thermal, air quality, acoustic, and lighting environments.Consequently, the main contribution of this paper was that it provided a comprehensive model to accomplish the integration of indoor environmental subjective and objective data, promoting the ability to describe and assess the indoor environment quality.
文摘The Bayesian structural equation model integrates the principles of Bayesian statistics, providing a more flexible and comprehensive modeling framework. In exploring complex relationships between variables, handling uncertainty, and dealing with missing data, the Bayesian structural equation model demonstrates unique advantages. Therefore, Bayesian methods are used in this paper to establish a structural equation model of innovative talent cognition, with the measurement of college students’ cognition of innovative talent being studied. An in-depth analysis is conducted on the effects of innovative self-efficacy, social resources, innovative personality traits, and school education, aiming to explore the factors influencing college students’ innovative talent. The results indicate that innovative self-efficacy plays a key role in perception, social resources are significantly positively correlated with the perception of innovative talents, innovative personality tendencies and school education are positively correlated with the perception of innovative talents, but the impact is not significant.
