We pioneered a study about how the geometric relationship of single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNT) is influenced by curvature factor and non-planar geometry factor in cylindrical coordinate system based on the assumption of complete symmetry. The bond length and angle of every carbon-carbon bonds are determined by using the principle of the minimum energy. The results of the paper include(1) From the calculation result, the symmetry breaking appears for chiral carbon nanotubes, while the part symmetry appears for achiral carbon nanotubes with increasing curvature.(2) The synergistic effect of bond lengths and bond angles is first found.(3) We conclude that the influence of non-planar geometry factor can be completely ignored on bond lengths and bond angles when the curvature parameter has been included in the model.(4)The two fractal dimensions are given from the nanoscale to the macroscale for zigzag topology and armchair topology respectively. Fractal dimensions of SWCNT show special characteristics, varying with the length of SWCNT until the lengths approach infinity. The close and inevitable correlations among curvature, symmetry breaking and stability of SWCNTs can be summed up as: the increase of curvature causes symmetry breaking,and such symmetry breaking will further reduce the structural stability. 展开更多

The Canavese Zone(CZ)in the Western Alps represents the remnant of the distal passive margin of the Adria microplate,which was stretched and thinned during the Jurassic opening of the Alpine Tethys.Through detailed geological mapping,stratigraphic and structural analyses,we document that the continental break-up of Pangea and tectonic dismemberment of the Adria distal margin,up to mantle rocks exhumation and oceanization,did not simply result from the syn-rift Jurassic extension but was strongly favored by older structu ral inheritances(the Proto-Canavese Shear Zone),which controlled earlier lithospheric weakness.Our findings allowed to redefine in detail(i)the tectono-stratigraphic setting of the Variscan metamorphic basement and the Late Carbonife rous to Early Cretaceous CZ succession,(ii)the role played by inherited Late Carboniferous to Early Triassic structures and(iii)the significance of the CZ in the geodynamic evolution of the Alpine Tethys.The large amount of extensional displacement and crustal thinning occurred during different pulses of Late Carbonife rous-Early Triassic strike-slip tectonics is wellconsistent with the role played by long-lived regional-scale wrench faults(e.g.,the East-Variscan Shear Zone),suggesting a re-discussion of models of mantle exhumation driven by low-angle detachment faults as unique efficient mechanism in stretching and thinning continental crust. 展开更多

On-Line Structural Breaks Estimation for Non-stationary Time Series Models

Non-stationary time series could be divided into piecewise stationary stochastic signal. However, the number and locations of breakpoints, as well as the approximation function of the respective segment signal are unknown. To solve this problem, a novel on-line structural breaks estimation algorithm based on piecewise autoregressive processes is proposed. In order to find the "best" combination of the number, lengths, and orders of the piecewise autoregressive (AR) processes, the Akaikes Information Criterion (AIC) and Yule-Walker equations are applied to estimate an AR model fit to the data. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed estimation algorithm is suitable for different data series. Furthermore, the algorithm is used in a clinical study of electroencephalogram (EEG) with satisfactory results, and the ability to deal with real-time data is the most outstanding characteristic of on-line structural breaks estimation algorithm proposed. 展开更多

Is There Hysteresis in Unemployment in OECD Countries? Evidence From Panel Unit Root Test With Structural Breaks

This study tests the hysteresis hypothesis of unemployment in fifteen OECD countries by using panel unit root tests which allow for structural breaks. We apply annual unemployment rates covering 1985-2008 periods. We test whether unemployment rates are stationary by using second generation tests which allow cross section dependency among series and panel unit root test based on structural break advanced by Carrion-i-Silvestre, Barrio-Castro and Lopez-Bazo (2005). We find series as a stationary process with structural breaks according to Carrion-i Silvestre et al. (2005) test, while we find series as unit root process with second generation panel unit root test. According to the Carrion-i Silvestre et al. (2005) test, we find the evidence of absence of hysteresis in analyzed countries. As a result, temporary shocks have temporary effects on unemployment instead of permanent effect. Structural factors can affect the natural rate of unemployment and, therefore, unemployment would be stationary around a process that is subject to structural breaks. So, there still exists a unique natural rate of unemployment to which the economy eventually will converge. 展开更多

The vertical price transmission is generally considered as the relationship between two markets of the same production chain However, we can expand this concept to another relation which has not been deeply investigated: the joint products. They are the products which are produced in a single production process, but not correspond to the same chain. An especial case is the beef and milk markets in Costa Rica. Even if these products usually correspond to disconnect chains, in Costa Rica farms make use of cattle to produce both meat and milk. The cointegration framework is applied in order to indentify the price transmission among these markets. In addition, the asymmetric behavior and structural breaks are taken into account. Price transmission between each market pair was found. First, the cattle prices adjust in the milk-cattle relationship, second, beef meat prices adjust in the cattle-beef meat and in the milk - beef meat relationship. Finally, the equations allowing for structural breaks affect the estimates in the following three ways: after the break the elasticities became higher than 1, there is more evidence of cointegration, and the adjustment coefficients are significant only when a change in the long run is allowed. 展开更多

The Patagonian Shelf is a very productive region with dif ferent ecosystem structures. A long history of fishing in the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean combined with a complex hydrographic structure, with a permanent front over the shelf-break and dif ferent coastal frontal regions, and a wide non-frontal area in between have made the food web in this area more complex and have resulted in changes to the spatialtemporal scale. Stable isotopes of carbon and nitrogen were used to determine the trophic structure of the Patagonian shelf break which was previously poorly understood. The results indicated that the average δ^(15)N value of pelagic guild(I llex argentinus) was remarkable lower than those of the other guilds. The δ^(13)C values of almost all species ranged from-17‰ to-18‰, but S tromateus brasiliensis had a significant lower δ^(13)C value. Compared with the southern Patagonian shelf, short food chain length also occurred. The impact of complex oceanographic structures has resulted in food web structure change to the temporal-spatial scale on the Patagonian shelf. The Patagonian shelf break can be considered as a separated ecosystem structure with lower δ^(15)N values. 展开更多

Quinoid structures are considered to be conducive to the charge transport of organic molecules,but this hypothesis is rarely proven at single-molecule level.Herein,as a proof of concept,the single-molecule conductance of two furan-based isomers,3,3'-bis(4-(methylthio)phenyl)-2,2'-bifuran(2,2'-SMPBF)and 4,4'-bis(4-(methylthio)phenyl)-3,3'-bifuran(3,3'-SMPBF),is investigated by the scanning tunneling microscopy break junction(STM-BJ)technique and theoretical simulation.2,2'-SMPBF prefers to adopt a nearly planar conformation with intact alternating single and double bonds extended via2,2'-bifuran moiety and therefore exhibits goodπ-conjugation and a prominent quinoid structure.However,theπ-conjugation of 3,3'-SMPBF is interrupted due to ineffective cross-conjugation in the 3,3'-bifuran moiety,leading to the absence of a quinoid structure.2,2'-SMPBF displays switchable multiple conductances induced by the interconversion between folded and unfolded conformations and an abnormal rebound of conductance along with the increases of electrode displacement,which is demonstrated to be caused by the quinoid structure in a nearly planar conformation during the stretching process.However,3,3'-SMPBF without a quinoid structure in unfolded conformation exhibits extremely low conductance that cannot be captured in STM-BJ measurements.These results reveal the significant contribution of quinoid structure to molecular charge transport and provide valuable information on the structure-transport relationship for the design of efficient organic semiconductors. 展开更多

In the tests, the ice sheet before the compliant conical structure was found to fail in two-time breaking. From 2005 to 2006, this type of ice failure was studied through more groups of tests. The tests show that two-time breaking is the typical failure of ice before steep conical structures, and is controlled by other factors at the same time, such as ice speed and the angle of the cone. 展开更多

Nonlinear Dynamic Behaviors of A Floating Structure in Focused Waves 被引量:3

They are often subjected to extreme waves and, therefore, their nonlinear dynamic behaviors are of great concern. In this paper, an in-house CFD code is developed to investigate the accurate prediction of nonlinear dynamic behaviors of a two-dimensional(2-D) box-shaped floating structure in focused waves. Computations are performed by an enhanced Constrained Interpolation Profile(CIP)-based Cartesian grid model, in which a more accurate VOF(Volume of Fluid) method, the THINC/SW scheme(THINC: tangent of hyperbola for interface capturing; SW: Slope Weighting), is used for interface capturing. A focusing wave theory is used for the focused wave generation. The wave component of constant steepness is chosen. Comparisons between predictions and physical measurements show good agreement including body motions and free surface profiles. Although the overall agreement is good, some discrepancies are observed for impact pressure on the superstructure due to water on deck. The effect of grid resolution on the results is checked. With a fine grid, no obvious improvement is seen in the global body motions and impact pressures due to water on deck. It is concluded that highly nonlinear phenomena, such as distorted free surface, large-amplitude body motions, and violent impact flow, have been predicted successfully. 展开更多

增压式脉冲水射流流场及破岩特性的数值模拟研究

传统的破岩理论技术在铁路隧道掘进中难以适应复杂的地质环境,破岩效率受限.增压式脉冲水射流兼具高压与脉冲的特性,有望为硬岩的高效破碎提供新的理论技术支撑.基于增压式脉冲水射流发生方法,开展了增压式脉冲水射流流场特性和破碎硬... 传统的破岩理论技术在铁路隧道掘进中难以适应复杂的地质环境,破岩效率受限.增压式脉冲水射流兼具高压与脉冲的特性,有望为硬岩的高效破碎提供新的理论技术支撑.基于增压式脉冲水射流发生方法,开展了增压式脉冲水射流流场特性和破碎硬岩的数值模拟研究.首先,修正了空化和湍流模型,提取了流场数据,为两阶段破岩模型的建立提供支撑;其次,探究了喷嘴内部的空化发展及其对射流结构的影响,并结合涡输运分析了空化-涡相互作用,阐明了涡输运各项分布演化规律及其对射流能量衰减的影响;最后,基于光滑粒子动力学,建立了两阶段增压式脉冲水射流冲击破岩模型,量化分析了增压式脉冲水射流冲击下岩石的损伤演化规律,并揭示了增压式脉冲水射流的破岩机理.研究结果表明:相较于原模型,修正模型更真实地重现了实验捕捉的流场特征,并为增压式脉冲水射流破岩提供了更加准确的边界条件;增压式脉冲水射流产生、发展过程中,喷嘴内部出现了明显空化现象,空化的存在一方面缩小了射流直径,另一方面诱导了涡的产生,并在与空气阻力的共同作用下,加剧了射流的不稳定性,导致射流形态变化和能量衰减;增压式脉冲水射流水锤压力产生的应力波的传播速度在轴向上高于径向,岩石的损伤累积受应力波传播过程中波的能量耗散的影响呈现出明显的“台阶期”;岩石在增压式脉冲水射流冲击下的损伤破坏可以分为低压连续段、压力突增段、高压连续段和压力降低段4个阶段,破坏形式以剪切拉伸破坏为主,其中在压力突增段和高压连续段损伤破坏较为剧烈.以期该研究结果为进一步优化和完善增压式脉冲水射流破岩理论及技术提供参考. 展开更多

随着深部资源开发需求增长,高压电脉冲破岩技术因其高效、环保优势成为钻探领域的研究热点。本文首先建立了高压电脉冲破岩钻进多物理场耦合模型,设计了同轴圆柱式、多电极对式及电极交叉式三种钻头结构。然后仿真分析研究了钻头电极结... 随着深部资源开发需求增长,高压电脉冲破岩技术因其高效、环保优势成为钻探领域的研究热点。本文首先建立了高压电脉冲破岩钻进多物理场耦合模型,设计了同轴圆柱式、多电极对式及电极交叉式三种钻头结构。然后仿真分析研究了钻头电极结构对高压电脉冲破岩效果的影响规律,得出同样电参数及岩石特性下最优的钻头电极结构。最后基于最优的同轴圆柱式电极结构钻头,仿真研究了钻头直径、施加电压、钻头高压电极形状及岩石介电常数等分别对岩石内部及表面电场强度的影响规律。研究结果表明,同轴结构明显使电场分布更集中且破碎区域从中心向外部扩展更均匀,同轴结构在破碎岩石方面更有优势。同时得出了钻头直径等分别对岩石表面及内部电场影响规律。本研究为高压电脉冲破岩钻头优化设计提供了设计依据,对推动该技术的工程应用具有一定的指导意义。 展开更多

磨料水射流射孔是一种有效的油气井射孔增产手段,然而,孔道形成机制及其参数调控规律仍是亟待解决的问题之一。鉴于此,设计并开展了磨料水射流射孔实验。结果表明,孔道形成过程是3种物理作用耦合的结果,即:入流垂直冲蚀孔尖岩石加深孔道... 磨料水射流射孔是一种有效的油气井射孔增产手段,然而,孔道形成机制及其参数调控规律仍是亟待解决的问题之一。鉴于此,设计并开展了磨料水射流射孔实验。结果表明,孔道形成过程是3种物理作用耦合的结果,即:入流垂直冲蚀孔尖岩石加深孔道,饭流以小角度冲蚀孔壁岩石达到扩径作用,沿程流体机械能耗散使得射孔后期孔道演化变缓。由于入流破岩能力远强于返流破岩能力,磨料水射流射孔孔道的孔深与孔径之比随喷射时间的延长而增大,喷射5~300 s,孔深与孔径之比由7增大到28。返流的破岩能力由孔尖到孔口递减,返流对孔壁岩石的累积作用时间由孔尖到孔口递增,二者的共同影响使孔道由圆锥状向纺锤状演化。随着喷射时间的延长,孔深增大,沿程流体机械能耗散加剧,孔深变化率降低至11.3%,孔径变化率降低至4.3%,孔形演化变缓。 展开更多

为探究风沙环境下防护林带的结构演变及其对文物保护的长期效益,本文以莫高窟顶典型防护林带为对象,采用“空间代时间”方法,系统调查了建植于1993年(建植31 a)、1999年(建植25 a)、2011年(建植13 a)的林带及对照流沙区(以建植0 a计),... 为探究风沙环境下防护林带的结构演变及其对文物保护的长期效益,本文以莫高窟顶典型防护林带为对象,采用“空间代时间”方法,系统调查了建植于1993年(建植31 a)、1999年(建植25 a)、2011年(建植13 a)的林带及对照流沙区(以建植0 a计),评估其群落结构、防护效益与植被特征的时序演变规律。结果表明:(1)随着建植年龄延长,林带结构趋于复杂,灌木多样性增加,草本植物呈先增后减趋势,群落多样性(Shannon-Wiener指数)依次为31 a>25 a>13 a>0 a;(2)林带高度、盖度、多度表现为先升后降,以建植25 a林带最优,疏透度则持续下降,表明其防风能力增强;(3)防护效益呈先强后弱趋势,建植25 a林带在小气候改善、防风能力和抑沙效果方面表现最佳;(4)主成分分析显示林带高度与盖度与防护效益正相关,疏透度与积沙高度负相关,表明林带结构对生态功能的决定作用。研究揭示了防护林演替过程中的关键转折点,应依据建植年龄和结构特征,优化物种配置,适时开展抚育管理,以延缓退化、增强稳定性和持续性。 展开更多
