Blended-Wing-Body(BWB)aircraft have a relatively short fuselage and no horizontal tail,and they usually adopt podded engines and a V tail instead of a vertical tail.Generally,BWB aircraft have decreased longitudinal a...Blended-Wing-Body(BWB)aircraft have a relatively short fuselage and no horizontal tail,and they usually adopt podded engines and a V tail instead of a vertical tail.Generally,BWB aircraft have decreased longitudinal and directional static stability and damping.In this paper,the three-axis static and dynamic stability characteristics of an example BWB aircraft with podded engines are studied.According to the differences in flight characteristics of BWB aircraft and conventional aircraft,the different airworthiness requirements for BWB aircraft are analyzed:first,based on current airworthiness regulations and transport aircraft flying quality specification,the relaxation requirement of longitudinal static stability for BWB aircraft is studied;second,the influences of podded engines on longitudinal trim,attitude and trajectory responses and maximum directional control power requirement of BWB aircraft are analyzed;third,the changes in the proportional relationships between the takeoff characteristic speeds of the example BWB aircraft are analyzed.In view of these variations in directional control power requirement and relationships between takeoff characteristic speeds,new recommendations for airworthiness evaluation are proposed for BWB aircraft.The conclusions of this paper are helpful references for configuration design,flight control law design and airworthiness evaluation of BWB aircraft.展开更多

However, as the strength of steel increase continuously, ensuring of the structure stability is becoming more and more important. Therefore, it is necessary to carry on a more particular analysis. Based on the understanding and analysis of the characteristics of stability for a ring-stiffened cylindrical shell under uniform external pressure and under external single pressure, the characteristics under different cross uniform external pressures are analyzed, and the regularity of it is also gotten. The curve of stability given various geometrical parameters under different cross uniform external pressures is protracted by the analysis of the theory. The conclusion not only improves the theory structural mechanics, it also was important effects on engineering calculation and design.展开更多
Rock masses in alpine canyon areas exhibit strong heterogeneity,discontinuity,and are subject to strong tectonic effects and stress unloading,leading to extremely complex distribution of in-situ stress.In addition,the...Rock masses in alpine canyon areas exhibit strong heterogeneity,discontinuity,and are subject to strong tectonic effects and stress unloading,leading to extremely complex distribution of in-situ stress.In addition,the occurrence of layered rock masses makes it more complex,with obvious anisotropic mechanical properties.This study proposes a comprehensive method for evaluating the stability of layered rock spillway tunnels in a hydropower station in an alpine canyon.First,the failure criterion and mechanical model of layered rock masses considering the anisotropy induced by the bedding plane and the true triaxial stress regime were established;an inversion theory and calculation procedure for in-situ stress in alpine canyon areas were then introduced.Finally,by using a self-developed numerical tool,i.e.CASRock,the stability of the layered rock spillway tunnel in a hydropower station was numerically analyzed.The results show that,affected by geological structure and stratigraphic lithology,there is significant differentiation in the in-situ stress in alpine canyons,with horizontal tectonic stress as the main factor.The occurrence of layered rock masses in the region has a significant impact on the stability of surrounding rock,and the angle between the bedding strike and the tunnel axis as well as the bedding dip both exert a significant influence on the failure characteristics of the surrounding rock.展开更多
To ensure safety while maintaining efficient operation and fast power regulation,this paper proposes a coordinated control strategy for variable-speed pumped storage units with full-size converters(FSC-VSPSU)in genera...To ensure safety while maintaining efficient operation and fast power regulation,this paper proposes a coordinated control strategy for variable-speed pumped storage units with full-size converters(FSC-VSPSU)in generation state.First,the dynamic stability characteristics and the key influencing factors in the fast power control mode and fast speed control mode are analyzed using the eigenvalue analysis method.The results indicate that the fast speed control mode can effectively address the issue of ultra-low frequency oscillation induced by fast power control.Then,the characteristics among the optimal speed,guide vane opening,and efficiency are clarified through laboratory testing of a pump turbine model machine,laying the foundations for developing optimized operation for the pumped storage units.Based on the analysis of slow load regulation and power step regulation,the power frequency regulation characteristics of the two control modes are revealed.Finally,leveraging the advantages of dynamic stability and power-speed regulation ability under the two control modes,a novel coordinated control strategy is proposed.The strategy has been ap-plied to the first FSC-VSPSU in China,and the field tests demonstrate that the unit achieves excellent speed regulation performance and fast power regulation capability.展开更多
