The spatial distribution and variation of the strain development with crack propagation were...The distributed optical fiber sensing technology was used to investigate the fracture behavior of the Epoxy Asphalt Mixture. The spatial distribution and variation of the strain development with crack propagation were acquired using the brillouin optical time-domain reflectometer through the loading experiments of the composite beam structure. In addition, a finite element model of the composite beam structure was developed to analyze the mechanical responses of the epoxy asphalt mixture using the extended finite element method. The experimental results show that the development of crack propagation becomes instable with the increase of the load, and larger loads will generate deeper cracks. Moreover, the numerical results show that the mechanical response of the crack tip changes with the crack propagation, and the worst areas that subjected to crack damage are located on both sides of the composite beam structure.展开更多
This study aims to evaluate the erosion behavior and the hardness of hybrid composites made of varying amounts of coconut shells,walnut shells,and carbonfibers dispersed in a polyester matrix.MINITAB(L16)Taguchi experi...This study aims to evaluate the erosion behavior and the hardness of hybrid composites made of varying amounts of coconut shells,walnut shells,and carbonfibers dispersed in a polyester matrix.MINITAB(L16)Taguchi experiments were used to determine the optimal combination of parameters.In particular,an erosion device con-sisting of a motor with a constantflow rate of 45 L/min,a pump with a diameter of 40 mm,a nozzle with a dia-meter of 5 mm,and a tank made of“perspex glass”55 cm long,30 cm tall,and 25 cm wide was used.The tests were conducted by varying the sample-to-nozzle distance,the pattern angle,and the sand particle size.The results have revealed that the presence of 7.5%by weight of waste coconut shell,for conditions corresponding to 90°angle,sand size 425μm,stand distance 30 cm,gives the best wear resistance(3.04×10^(-5) g/g).Thefiller content and sand particle size affect the erosive rate,with the angle playing a secondary role.The distance between the sample and the nozzle has a weaker effect on erosive wear.The hardness results show that the models(UP-5%carbonfiber-2.5-3.5-4.5-5.5-6.5-7.5 wt.%waste coconut shell)give the best values for prayer compared to the samples(UP-5 wt.%carbonfiber-2.5-3.5-4.5-5.5-6.5-7.5 wt.%waste walnut shell).展开更多

High peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR)is the main disadvantage of visible light communication-based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(VLC-OFDM)systems.To address this problem,a novel precoding method is propo...High peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR)is the main disadvantage of visible light communication-based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(VLC-OFDM)systems.To address this problem,a novel precoding method is proposed in this paper.The complex-valued precoding matrix is constructed by a Vandermonde matrix.The researched results show the proposed precoding scheme has better PAPR performance when compared to the conventional real-valued precoding methods.Moreover,a general closed-form expression of bit error rate(BER)for Vandermonde precoded VLC-OFDM is derived for multipath fading channel.The obtained BER formula shows that Vandermonde precoding can improve the BER performance of VLC-OFDM system over multipath fading channel.This is verified by the simulation results.The researched results also show that different precoding schemes have the same BER performance but different PAPR performance.展开更多

Methods One hundred and twenty cases were randomized into a conventional acupuncture group [Yangbai (阳白 GB 24), Sibai (四白 ST 2), Yingxiang (迎香 LI 20), etc.], a Renying (人迎ST 9) acupuncture group and an operation + acupuncture group [acupuncture at ST 9 as the main acupoint and the stellate ganglion block (SGB)], 40 cases in each one. The treatment was given once a day, 7 treatments made one session. After 3 sessions of treatment, the latency and the amplitude of the direct stimulation evoked potential of the facial nerve (ENoG) were compared before and after treatment in three groups, as well as R2 and R2 values of blink reflex (BR). The total clinical efficacy was assessed. Results The latency of ENoG was shortened and the amplitude was increased significantly in three groups. After treatment, ENoG latency was lower significantly in the operation + acupuncture group as compared with that in the conventional acupuncture group (P〈0.05). In the Renying (人迎 ST 9) acupuncture group, the amplitude of ENoG was increased as compared with P〈0.05). After treatment in three groups, those in the other two groups (all R2 and R2 values were decreased significantly. The differences in R1 and R2 values in the Renying (人迎 ST 9) acupuncture group and the operation + acupuncture group before and after treatment were bigger than those in the conventional acupuncture group (all P〈0.05), and the difference in R2 value in the operation + acupuncture group was bigger than that in the Renying (人迎 ST 9) acupuncture group (P〈O.05). The clinical markedly effective and curative rate was 87.5% (35/40) in the operation + acupuncture group, which was superior to 77.5% (32/40) in the Renying ()人迎 ST 9)acupuncture group and higher significantly than 65.0% (26/40) in the conventional acupuncture group (P〈0.05). Conclusion Compared with the conventional acupuncture, the efficacy on peripheral facial paralysis is much better in the Renying (人迎 ST 9) acupuncture group and the operation + acupuncture group. Moreover, the early reflex function of the damaged facial nerve is much better recovered in the operation + acupuncture group as compared with that in the Renying (人迎 ST 9) acupuncture group.展开更多
