Based on the three-dimensional steady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and k-ε double equations turbulent model, the field flow around the wind speed sensor and the steel pole along a high-speed railway was simulated on an unstructured grid. The grid-independent validation was conducted and the accuracy of the present numerical simulation method was validated by experiments and simulations carried out by previous researchers. In order to reduce the charging completion time, most existing works use the “mobilethen- charge” model—the Wireless charging vehicles (WCV) moves to the charging spot first and then charges nodes nearby. These works often aim to reduce the node’s movement delay or charging delay. However, the charging opportunities during the movement are overlooked in this model because WCV can charge nodes when it goes from one spot to the next. In order to use the charging opportunities, a speed grading method is proposed under the circumstance of variable WCV speed, which transformed the problem of final charging delay into a traveling salesman problem with speed grading. The problem was further solved by linear programming method. The simulation experiments show that, compared with the existing charging methods, the proposed method has a significant improvement in charging delay.展开更多

A popular method for measuring dimensional information is using a 3D coordinate measuring machine (CMM)with a touch trigger probe. The measurement set up with CMM, however, is a time consuming task and the accuracy of the measurement deteriorates as the speed of measurement increase. Non-contact measurement is favored since high speed measurement can be achieved and problems with vibration and friction can be eliminated. Although much research has been conducted in non-contact measurement using image capturing and processing schemes, accuracy is poor and measurement is limited. Some optical technologies developed provide a good accuracy but the dynamic range and versatility is very limited. A novel fiber-optic sensor used for the inspection of complex internal contours is presented in this paper, which is able to measure a surface shape in a non-contact manner with high accuracy and high speed, and is compact and flexible to be incorporated into a CMM. Modulation functions for tilted surface shape measurement, based on the Gaussian distribution of the emitting beam from single-mode fiber (SMF), were derived for specular reflection. The feasibility of the proposed measurement principle was verified by simulations.展开更多

This paper proposed an experimental metho...Accurate description of the elastic deformation of the flexspline is the foundation for optimization design of the structure and conjugate profiles of the harmonic drive gear. This paper proposed an experimental method to investigate the effect of the driving speed on the deformation characteristics of the flexspline. First, an experimental apparatus that integrates a special-fabricated micro-displacement platform and a pair of laser displacement sensors is developed, and the radial displacement of the flexspline is measured in vertical and horizontal directions. Next, the deformation analyses of the flexspline at different driving speeds are performed with our method and the conventional method, and the comparison results reveal that the radial displacement of the flexspline is actually composed of both harmonic and random components, and the amplitude decreases and tends to zero with the increase of the driving speed, especially near the closed end of the flexspline. Last, the mechanisms of the inherent multi-frequency and amplitude attenuation characteristics of the radial displacement of the flexspline are discussed. It is indicated that the impact and friction existing in the flexible bearing of the wave generator is likely responsible for the existence of the random component, and the assumption of linear distribution of the ftexspline deformation along the rotating axis is invalid under high speed condition. Our research promotes the further study on the contact-impact problem of the flexible bearing of the wave generator and the transfer characteristic of the elastic deformation of the flexspline.展开更多

These techniques increase the lateral conductivity of the photo-generated carriers in a pinned photodiode (PPD) and the voltage difference between the PPD and the floating diffusion (FD) node by controlling and optimizing the N doping concentration in the PPD and the threshold voltage of the reset transistor, respectively. The techniques shorten the charge transfer time from the PPD diode to the FD node effectively. The proposed process techniques do not need extra masks and do not cause harm to the fill factor. A sub array of 32 x 64 pixels was designed and implemented in the 0.18 #m CIS process with five implantation conditions splitting the N region in the PPD. The simulation and measured results demonstrate that the charge transfer time can be decreased by using the proposed techniques. Comparing the charge transfer time of the pixel with the different implantation conditions of the N region, the charge transfer time of 0.32 μs is achieved and 31% of image lag was reduced by using the proposed process techniques.展开更多

Triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs) are popular for wind speed sensors due to their self-powered property. However, a TENG cannot easily work at low wind speeds due to the limitation of the high frictional resistance structure. In this paper, a TENG-based breezeactivated wind speed sensor(BAWS) with an ultra-low frictional resistance is proposed. The key drive unit of the BAWS is a Savonius-like vertical axis wind turbine, which is fabricated by arrayed airfoil profile blades with excellent flow field characteristics. Here a wind turbine plays dual roles in driving the electromagnetic generator below it to supply energy and lead the TENG above it to sense the wind force. Compared to a classical turbine with a wind cup, the designed turbine has a low resistance torque. The synergistic effect of the drive unit with low-resistance and triboelectric materials with low viscosity allows the BAWS to be activated even at a wind speed of 2.9 m/s. The sensitivities of the voltage frequency and current amplitude of the TENG are used to reflect the electrical property of the BAWS. The measured values are 0.291 Hz/(m·s-1) and 0.221 μA/(m·s-1),which reflects the good sensitivity of the BAWS. Moreover, the linearity of the BAWS reaches up to 0.991, which shows an accurate output for the wind speed. In addition, the device is equipped with a combined electromagnetic-solar unit as the sole power source to meet the sensor’s all-weather operation requirements. This work expands the application prospects of selfpowered sensing technology in the field of disaster warning.展开更多

However, analysis of guided wave signals acquired from structure is difficult on account of low S/N ratio and its dispersive nature. To improve S/N ratio and overcome dispersion effect, focusing techniques for guided waves are needed. Thus, in this study, focusing techniques for guided waves were developed in order to improve long range inspection ability, and performance of the developed techniques was verified by experiments.展开更多

Node authentication is not only the basis of network security, but also the premise of key management and secure routing protocol. Although the signature mechanism based on symmetric encryption is high in energy efficiency,it is vulnerable to be attacked and there is a time delay during authentication. Traditional public key encryption mechanism with improvement in security brings in complex algorithm and costs much time, which is not suitable for WSN. In this paper,a signature authentication mechanism,an optimized variant Bellare Namprempre Neven( OvBNN) is presented to quickly complete the authentication by mutual cooperation between nodes so as to make the nodes use the intermediate calculation results of their neighbor nodes directly.Simulation results show that the proposed mechanism is superior to traditional authentication mechanisms both in energy consumption and authentication time.展开更多

文摘The accurate estimation of expressway traffic state can provide decision-making for both travelers and traffic managers. The speed is one of the most representative parameter of the traffic state. So the expressway speed spatial distribution can be taken as the expressway traffic state equivalent. In this paper,an algorithm based on virtual speed sensors(VSS)is presented to estimate the expressway traffic state(the speed spatial distribution). To gain the spatial distribution of expressway traffic state, virtual speed sensors are defined between adjacent traffic flow sensors. Then, the speed data extracted from traffic flow sensors in time series are mapped to space series to design virtual speed sensors. Then the speed of virtual speed sensors can be calculated with the weight matrix which is related with the speed of virtual speed sensors and the speed data extracted from traffic flow sensors and the speed data extracted from traffic flow sensors in time series. Finally, the expressway traffic state(the speed spatial distribution)can be gained. The acquisition of average travel speed of the expressway is taken for application of this traffic state estimation algorithm. One typical expressway in Beijing is adopted for the experiment analysis. The results prove that this traffic state estimation approach based on VSS is feasible and can achieve a high accuracy.
文摘In most areas of China, affected by the environment of low temperature and high humidity, the wind speed sensor and wind direction sensor are frozen and cannot output data in autumn, winter or the alternation of winter and spring. In order to solve the freezing situation of the wind sensor, this paper designs a new type of antifreeze wind speed sensor. After meteorology performance testing and field observation tests, the correlation coefficient of the observation data is demonstrated, and the data curve is fitted. The result shows the sensor is stable, and has a good antifreeze effect, the data output is reliable.

文摘Accurate description of the elastic deformation of the flexspline is the foundation for optimization design of the structure and conjugate profiles of the harmonic drive gear. Our research promotes the further study on the contact-impact problem of the flexible bearing of the wave generator and the transfer characteristic of the elastic deformation of the flexspline.

文摘This paper proposes pixel process techniques to reduce the charge transfer time in high speed CMOS image sensors. Comparing the charge transfer time of the pixel with the different implantation conditions of the N region, the charge transfer time of 0.32 μs is achieved and 31% of image lag was reduced by using the proposed process techniques.

文摘The early warning and monitoring of gale disasters are very important for the safety of people’s lives and properties. This work expands the application prospects of selfpowered sensing technology in the field of disaster warning.

文摘Ultrasonic guided wave becomes one of promising tool for monitoring various types of structures such as large steel plates, vessels, and pipes in oil, chemical or nuclear industry, because guided waves have ability to travel wide range of the target structure in a single position. However, analysis of guided wave signals acquired from structure is difficult on account of low S/N ratio and its dispersive nature. To improve S/N ratio and overcome dispersion effect, focusing techniques for guided waves are needed. Thus, in this study, focusing techniques for guided waves were developed in order to improve long range inspection ability, and performance of the developed techniques was verified by experiments.

文摘The universality of the application of wireless sensor networks( WSN) makes more attention be paid on the security problem. In this paper,a signature authentication mechanism,an optimized variant Bellare Namprempre Neven( OvBNN) is presented to quickly complete the authentication by mutual cooperation between nodes so as to make the nodes use the intermediate calculation results of their neighbor nodes directly.Simulation results show that the proposed mechanism is superior to traditional authentication mechanisms both in energy consumption and authentication time.

文摘In this paper,a fast-speed and real-time online rail inspection method based on half-cycle orthogonal power demodulation algorithm is proposed. For this method, the power characters of de-tection signal which represent the degree of rail track can be calculated using only half-cycle detec-tion signal because of the symmetry characteristic of detected sine signal and reference signal. The theoretical analysis, simulation results and experiment results show that the demodulation preci-sion of proposed method is almost equal to fast Fourier transform(FFT)demodulation method and orthogonal demodulation method, but has high demodulation efficiency and less FPGA resources cost.A high-speed experiment system based on three coils structured sensor is built for rail inspec-tion experiment at a moving speed of 200 km/h.The experiment results show that proposed meth-od is more effective for rail inspection and the time resolution of proposed method is double of clas-sic method that based on FFT and orthogonal.
