Based on the perspective of development geography, this paper proposes a panel vector autoregressive(PVAR) model that combines the human development approach with the global indicator framework for Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) to identify the poverty-causing and the poverty-reducing factors in China. The aim is to measure the multidimensional poverty index(MPI) of China’s provinces from 2007 to 2017, and use the exploratory spatio-temporal data analysis(ESTDA) method to reveal the characteristics of the spatio-temporal dynamics of multidimensional poverty. The results show the following:(1) The poverty-causing factors in China include the high social gross dependency ratio and crop-to-disaster ratio, and the poverty-reducing factors include the high per capita GDP, per capita social security expenditure, per capita public health expenditure, number of hospitals per 10,000 people, rate of participation in the new rural cooperative medical scheme, vegetation coverage, per capita education expenditure, number of universities, per capita research and development(R&D) expenditure, and funding per capita for cultural undertakings.(2) From 2007 to 2017, provincial income poverty(IP), health poverty(HP), cultural poverty(CP), and multidimensional poverty have been significantly reduced in China, and the overall national poverty has dropped by 5.67% annually. there is a differentiation in poverty along different dimensions in certain provinces.(3) During the study period, the local spatial pattern of multidimensional poverty between provinces showed strong spatial dynamics, and a trend of increase from the eastern to the central and western regions was noted. The MPI among provinces exhibited a strong spatial dependence over time to form a pattern of decrease from northwestern and northeastern China to the surrounding areas.(4) The spatio-temporal networks of multidimensional poverty in adjacent provinces were mainly negatively correlated, with only Shaanxi and Henan, Shaanxi and Ningxia, Qinghai and Gansu, Hubei and Anhui, Sichuan and Guizhou, and Hainan and Guangdong forming spatially strong cooperative poverty reduction relationships. These results have important reference value for the implementation of China’s poverty alleviation strategy.展开更多

Winter rape is an important oil crop, which plays an important role in the cooking oil market of China. The Jianghan Plain and Dongting Lake Plain (JPDLP) are major agricultural production areas in China. Essential changes in winter rape distribution have taken place in this area during the 21st century. However, the pattern of these changes remains unknown. In this study, the spatial and temporal dynamics of winter rape from 2000 to 2017 on the JPDLP were analyzed. An artificial neural network (ANN)-based classification method was proposed to map fractional winter rape distribution by fusing moderate resolution imaging spectrometer (MODIS) data and high-resolution imagery. The results are as follows:(1) The total winter rape acreages on the JPDLP dropped significantly, especially on the Jianghan Plain with a decline of about 45% during 2000 and 2017.(2) The winter rape abundance keeps changing with about 20–30% croplands changing their abundance drastically in every two consecutive observation years.(3) The winter rape has obvious regional differentiation for the trend of its change at the county level, and the decreasing trend was observed more strongly in the traditionally dominant agricultural counties.展开更多

Using a maximum likelihood supervised classification of satellite images from 1990 to 2016, coupled with field and a socio-economic survey, we performed a robust land-use classification. Between 1990 and 2016, the area included eight classes of land use, with the largest in 1990 being the woody savannah (42.9%) followed by the gallery forest (20.2%) and the clear forest (16.3%). Between 1990 and 1999, the gallery forest lost 64.8% of its area mostly to the benefit of woody savannahs. Between 1999 and 2016, the largest loss of area was that of the clear forest, which decreased generally by 43.2% in favor of woody savannah. Rates of increase of crop field areas were 59.6% and 78.8% respectively for the periods of 1990 to 1999 and 1999 to 2016 to the detriment of woody savannahs. We attribute the changes in land use observed mainly to the increasing human population and associated agriculture, overgrazing, fuelwood harvesting and bush fires. The exploitation of non-timber forest products and climatic factors may also have changed the vegetation cover. We recommend the implementation of farming techniques with low impact on the environment such as agroforestry.展开更多

Meanwhile the analysis of urban development can also provide scientifically and effective information for decision-making. With the long-term Defense Meteorological Satellite Program’s Operational Linescan System(DMSP/OLS) nighttime light images, a pixel level assessment of urbanization of China from 1992 to 2013 was conducted in this study, and the spatio-temporal dynamics and future trends of urban development were fully detected. The results showed that the urbanization and urban dynamics of China experienced drastic fluctuations from 1992 to 2013, especially for those in the coastal and metropolitan areas. From a regional perspective, it was found that the urban dynamics and increasing trends in North Coast China, East Coast China and South Coast China were much more stable and significant than that in other regions. Moreover, with the sustainability estimating of nighttime light dynamics, the regional agglomeration trends of urban regions were also detected. The light intensity in nearly 50% of lighted pixels may continuously decrease in the future, indicating a severe situation of urbanization within these regions. In this study, The results revealed in this study can provided a new insight in long time urbanization detecting and is thus beneficial to the better understanding of trends and dynamics of urban development.展开更多

Flatness control is the key and highly difficult technique of strip mills. The bottle-neck restricting the improvement of flatness control techniques is that the research on flatness theories and control mathematic models is not in accordance with the requirement of technique developments. To build a simple, rapid and accurate explicit formulation control model has become an urgent need for the development of flatness control technique. This paper puts forward the conception of dynamic effective matrix based on the effective matrix method for flatness control proposed by the authors under the consideration of the influence of the change of parameters in roiling processes on the effective matrix, and the concept is validated by industrial productions. Three methods of the effective matrix generation are induced: the calculation method based on the flatness prediction model; the calculation method based on the data excavation in rolling processes and the direct calculation method based on the network model. A fuzzy neural network effective matrix model is built based on the clusters, and then the network structure is optimized and the high-speed-calculation problem of the dynamic effective matrix is solved. The flatness control scheme for cold strip mills is proposed based on the dynamic effective matrix. On stand 5 of the 1 220 mm five-stand 4-high cold strip tandem mill, the industrial experiment with the control methods of tilting roll and bending roll is done by the control scheme of the static effective matrix and the dynamic effective matrix, respectively. The experiment result proves that the control effect of the dynamic effective matrix is much better than that of the static effective matrix. This paper proposes a new idea and method for the dynamic flatness control in the rolling processes of cold strip mills and develops the theory and model of the flatness control effective matrix method.展开更多

Comprehensive dynamic responses involving cyclic effects and vibration behaviours are studied under various load combinations of dynamic amplitude, mean load, frequency and number of cycles. Test results show that permanent settlement can generally be predicted with a quadratic function or power function of cycles.Sloping ground topography produces more pronounced settlement than level ground under the same load condition. For vibration behaviour, displacement amplitude is weakly affected by the number of cycles, while load amplitude significantly influences dynamic responses. Test results also reveal that increasing load amplitude intensifies nonlinearity and topography effects. The strain distribution in a pile and soil stress at the pile tip are displayed to investigate the vibration mechanism accounting for sloping ground effects. Furthermore, the dynamic characteristics among three kinds of topography in the elastic stage are studied using a three-dimensional finite method. Numerical results are validated by comparing with experimental results for base inclination topography. An inclined soil profile boundary causes non-axisymmetric resultant deformation, though a small difference in vertical displacement is observed.展开更多

In this paper, torsional split Hopkinson bar tests are conducted on this alloy with different sample dimensions. It is found that with the decreasing gauge length and thickness, the tested yield strength increases. However, the sample innerlouter diameter has little effect on the dynamic torsional behaviour. Based on the finite element method, the stress states in the alloy with different sample sizes are analysed. Due to the effect of stress concentration zone (SCZ), the shorter sample has a higher yield stress. Furthermore, the stress distributes more uniformly in the thinner sample, which leads to the higher tested yield stress. According to the experimental and simulation analysis, some suggestions on choosing the sample size are given as well.展开更多

In this work, the competing effects of surface heterogeneous catalytic recombination and ablation characteristics at elevated temperatures are investigated using the Reactive Molecular Dynamics(RMD) simulation method. A GasSurface Interaction(GSI) model is established to simulate the collisions of hyper-enthalpy atomic oxygen on graphene films in the temperature range of 500–2500 K. A critical temperature Tcaround900 K is identified to distinguish the graphene responses into two parts: at T < T_(c), the heterogeneous surface catalysis dominates, while the surface ablation plays a leading role at T > T_(c). Contradicting to the traditional Arrhenius expression that the recombination coefficient increases with the increase of surface temperature, the value is found to be relatively uniform at T < T_(c) but declines sharply as the surface temperature increases further due to the competing ablation effect. The occurrence of surface ablation decreases the amounts of active sites on the graphene surface for oxygen adsorption, leading to reduced recombination coefficient from both Langmuir-Hinshelwood(L-H) and Eley-Rideal(E-R) mechanisms. It suggests that the traditional Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) simulation method, which relies on the Arrhenius-type catalysis model, would result in large discrepancies in predicting aerodynamic heat for carbon-based materials during reentry into strong aerodynamic thermal environment.展开更多

This study investigates the mechanisms underlying the enhanced dynamic response of reinforced concrete blast doors with four-sided restraints in confined space. Explosion tests with TNT charges ranging from 0.15 kg to 0.4 kg were conducted in a confined space, capturing overpressure loads and the dynamic response of the blast door. An internal explosion model incorporating the afterburning effect was developed using LS-DYNA software and validated against experimental data. The results reveal that the TNT afterburning effect amplifies both the initial peak overpressure and the quasi-static overpressure, resulting in increased deformation of the blast door.Within the 0.15-0.4 kg charge range, the initial overpressure peak and quasi-static overpressure increased by an average of 1.79 times and 2.21 times, respectively. Additionally, the afterburning effect enhanced the blast door's deflection by 177%. Compared to open-space scenarios, the cumulative deflection of the blast door due to repeated shock wave impacts is significantly greater in confined spaces. Furthermore, the quasi-static pressure arising from the structural constraints sustains the blast door's deflection at a high level.展开更多

文摘When a ship moves in an oblique flow, its hydrodynamic loads and wake characteristics vary substantially from those in straight-ahead motion. This dissimilarity can be even more complex when the ship operates in a seaway of shallow water. In this paper,a numerical analysis of the shallow-water effect on the hydrodynamic forces and wake characteristics of an international ship model,KVLCC2,in oblique flows is conducted.Numerical simulations are performed based on the Reynolds Averaged NavierStokes equation in conjunction with the shear stress transport(SST)k-ωturbulence model.Four relative water depths(h=1.2T,1.5T,3.0T,and 24T;T is the ship draft)and five different drift angles(β=0°,5°,10°,15°,and 20°)are considered. Results reveal the following:i)The shallow-water effect is strong and leads to nonlinear increases in the longitudinal force regardless of drift angles and on the transverse force and yaw moment whenever the drift angle increases.ii)In shallow water, the mean wake fraction is sensitive to the drift angle, and the strength of the aft-body vortex on the leeward side increases.

文摘Flexible microporous metal rubber(FMP-MR)is widely used in national defense applications, yet its mechanical behavior under high-speed impact conditions remains insufficiently explored. In this study, dynamic and static experiments were conducted to systematically investigate the mechanical response of metal-wrapped microporous materials under impact loading that spanned 10~6 orders of magnitude.By combining a high-precision numerical model with a spatial contact point search algorithm, the spatio–temporal contact characteristics of the complex network structure in FMP-MR were systematically analyzed.Furthermore, the mapping mechanism from turn topology and mesoscopic friction behavior to macroscopic mechanical properties was comprehensively explored. The results showed that compared with quasi-static loading,FMP-MR under high-speed impact exhibited higher energy absorption efficiency due to high-strain-rate inertia effect. Therefore, the peak stress increased by 141%,and the maximum energy dissipation increased by 300%.Consequently,the theory of dynamic friction locking effect was innovatively proposed. The theory explains that the close synergistic effect of sliding friction and plastic dissipation promoted by the stable interturn-locked embedded structure is the essential reason for the excellent dynamic mechanical properties of FMP-MR under dynamic loading conditions.Briefly, based on the in-depth investigation of the mechanical response and energy dissipation mechanism of FMP-MR under impact loads, this study provides a solid theoretical basis for further expanding the application range of FMP-MR and optimizing its performance.

文摘Exploring the spatio-temporal dynamics of poverty is important for research on sustainable poverty reduction in China. These results have important reference value for the implementation of China’s poverty alleviation strategy.

文摘The wheel-rail dynamic load(WRL)and its vibration energy transfer(VET)are foundational for studying ballastless track dynamics in high-speed railways. In this study, the higher-order modal parameters of track beds with different isolating layers were identified experimentally and a vehicle-track coupled dynamic model considering track bed broadband vibrations(TBBVs)was established. The WRL and its VET were investigated, and the contribution law as well as the influence mechanism of TBBVs on them was determined. The results showed the WRL and track bed vibration energy exhibited significant resonances, with more prominent high-frequency resonance peaks in the track bed vibration energy.TBBVs had a significant effect on low-frequency WRLs,and markedly influenced the VET across various frequency bands.Intense low-frequency and weak high-frequency intermodulation effects between the wheel-rail and track beds were observed. The effect of track bed vibrations can be disregarded when focusing on high-frequency WRLs above 200 Hz.Variations in the isolating layer stiffness have more significant effects on the track bed vibration energy than the WRL.Rational stiffness of the isolating layer should be selected to avoid mode-coupling resonance from track beds to the wheel-rail subsystem.

文摘It is known that the exploitation of opencast coal mines has seriously damaged the environments in the semi-arid areas.Vegetation status can reliably reflect the ecological degeneration and restoration in the opencast mining areas in the semi-arid areas.Long-time series MODIS NDVI data are widely used to simulate the vegetation cover to reflect the disturbance and restoration of local ecosystems. In this study, both qualitative(linear regression method and coefficient of variation(CoV)) and quantitative(spatial buffer analysis, and change amplitude and the rate of change in the average NDVI) analyses were conducted to analyze the spatio-temporal dynamics of vegetation during 2000–2017 in Jungar Banner of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, at the large(Jungar Banner and three mine groups) and small(three types of functional areas: opencast coal mining excavation areas, reclamation areas and natural areas) scales. The results show that the rates of change in the average NDVI in the reclamation areas(20%–60%) and opencast coal mining excavation areas(10%–20%) were considerably higher than that in the natural areas(<7%).The vegetation in the reclamation areas experienced a trend of increase(3–5 a after reclamation)-decrease(the sixth year of reclamation)-stability.The vegetation in Jungar Banner has a spatial heterogeneity under the influences of mining and reclamation activities. The ratio of vegetation improvement area to vegetation degradation area in the west, southwest and east mine groups during 2000–2017 was 8:1, 20:1 and 33:1, respectively. The regions with the high CoV of NDVI above 0.45 were mainly distributed around the opencast coal mining excavation areas, and the regions with the CoV of NDVI above 0.25 were mostly located in areas with low(28.8%) and medium-low(10.2%) vegetation cover. The average disturbance distances of mining activities on vegetation in the three mine groups(west, southwest and east) were 800, 800 and 1000 m, respectively. The greater the scale of mining, the farther the disturbance distances of mining activities on vegetation. We conclude that vegetation reclamation will certainly compensate for the negative impacts of opencast coal mining activities on vegetation.Sufficient attention should be paid to the proportional allocation of plant species(herbs and shrubs) in the reclamation areas, and the restored vegetation in these areas needs to be protected for more than 6 a.Then, as the repair time increased, the vegetation condition of the reclamation areas would exceed that of the natural areas.

文摘It is urgent and important to explore the dynamic evolution in comprehensive transportation green efficiency(CTGE)in the context of green development. We constructed a social development index that reflects the social benefits of transportation services, and incorporated it into the comprehensive transportation efficiency evaluation framework as an expected output.Based on the panel data of 30 regions in China from 2003-2018,the CTGE in China was measured using the slacks-based measure-data envelopment analysis(SBM-DEA)model.Further,the dynamic evolution trends of CTGE were determined using the spatial Markov model and exploratory spatio-temporal data analysis(ESTDA)technique from a spatio-temporal perspective. The results showed that the CTGE shows a U-shaped change trend but with an overall low level and significant regional differences. The state transition of CTGE has a strong spatial dependence, and there exists the phenomenon of“club convergence”.Neighbourhood background has a significant impact on the CTGE transition types, and the spatial spillover effect is pronounced. The CTGE has an obvious positive correlation and spatial agglomeration characteristics. The geometric characteristics of the LISA time path show that the evolution process of local spatial structure and local spatial dependence of China’s CTGE is stable, but the integration of spatial evolution is weak. The spatio-temporal transition results of LISA indicate that the CTGE has obvious transfer inertness and has certain path-dependence and spatial locking characteristics, which will become the major difficulty in improving the CTGE.

文摘Mapping crop distribution with remote sensing data is of great importance for agricultural production, food security and agricultural sustainability. The results are as follows:(1) The total winter rape acreages on the JPDLP dropped significantly, especially on the Jianghan Plain with a decline of about 45% during 2000 and 2017.(2) The winter rape abundance keeps changing with about 20–30% croplands changing their abundance drastically in every two consecutive observation years.(3) The winter rape has obvious regional differentiation for the trend of its change at the county level, and the decreasing trend was observed more strongly in the traditionally dominant agricultural counties.
文摘We evaluated the dynamics of land use in the Bouba Ndjidda National Park (BNNP) and adjacent areas, in northern Cameroon. We recommend the implementation of farming techniques with low impact on the environment such as agroforestry.

文摘Understanding the dynamics of urbanization is essential to the sustainable development of cities. In this study, The results revealed in this study can provided a new insight in long time urbanization detecting and is thus beneficial to the better understanding of trends and dynamics of urban development.

文摘Appropriately characterising the mixed space-time relations of the contagion process caused by hybrid space and time factors remains the primary challenge in COVID-19 forecasting. However,in previous deep learning models for epidemic forecasting, spatial and temporal variations are captured separately.A unified model is developed to cover all spatio-temporal relations. However, this measure is insufficient for modelling the complex spatio-temporal relations of infectious disease transmission.A dynamic adaptive spatio-temporal graph network(DASTGN)is proposed based on attention mechanisms to improve prediction accuracy. In DASTGN,complex spatio-temporal relations are depicted by adaptively fusing the mixed space-time effects and dynamic space-time dependency structure. This dual-scale model considers the time-specific,space-specific,and direct effects of the propagation process at the fine-grained level.Furthermore, the model characterises impacts from various space-time neighbour blocks under time-varying interventions at the coarse-grained level. The performance comparisons on the three COVID-19 datasets reveal that DASTGN achieves state-of-the-art results with a maximum improvement of 17.092%in the root mean-square error and 11.563%in the mean absolute error.Experimental results indicate that the mechanisms of designing DASTGN can effectively detect some spreading characteristics of COVID-19.The spatio-temporal weight matrices learned in each proposed module reveal diffusion patterns in various scenarios. In conclusion,DASTGN has successfully captured the dynamic spatio-temporal variations of COVID-19,and considering multiple dynamic space-time relationships is essential in epidemic forecasting.

文摘Steel strips are the main of steel products and flatness is an important quality indicator of steel strips. This paper proposes a new idea and method for the dynamic flatness control in the rolling processes of cold strip mills and develops the theory and model of the flatness control effective matrix method.

文摘This paper describes model tests of single piles subjected to vertical cyclic compressive loading for three kinds of topography: sloping ground, level ground, and inclined bedrock. An inclined soil profile boundary causes non-axisymmetric resultant deformation, though a small difference in vertical displacement is observed.

文摘Tensile failure(spalling or slabbing)often occurs on the sidewall of deep tunnel, which is closely related to the coupled stress state of deep rock mass under high pre-static load and dynamic disturbance. To reveal the mechanism of rock tensile failure caused by this coupled stress mode, the Brazilian disc tests were carried on red sandstone under high pre-static load induced by dynamic disturbance.Based on the pure static tensile fracture load of red sandstone specimen, two static load levels(80%and 90%of the pure static tensile fracture load)were selected as the initial high pre-static loading state, and then the dynamic disturbance load was applied until the rock specimen was destroyed. The dynamic disturbance loading mode adopted a sinusoidal wave(sine-wave)load,and the loading wave amplitude was 20%and 10%of the pure static tensile fracture load, respectively. The dynamic disturbance frequencies were set to 1,10,20,30,40,and 50 Hz.The results show that the tensile failure strength and peak displacement of red sandstone specimens under coupled load actions are lower than those under pure static tensile load, and both parameters decrease significantly with the increase of dynamic disturbance frequency. With the increase of dynamic disturbance frequency, the decrease range of tensile strength of red sandstone increased from 3.3%to 9.4%when the pre-static load level is 80%.While when the pre-static load level is 90%,the decrease range will increase from 7.4%to 11.6%.This weakening effect of tensile strength shows that the deep surrounding rock is more likely to fail under the coupled load actions of pre-static load and dynamic disturbance. In this tensile failure mechanism of the deep surrounding rock, the stress environment of deep sidewall rock determines that the failure mode of rock is a tensile failure, the pre-static load level dominates the tensile failure strength of surrounding rock, and dynamic disturbance promotes the strength-weakening effect and affects the weakening range.

文摘In order to investigate the effect of sample size on the dynamic torsional behaviour of the 2A12 aluminium alloy. According to the experimental and simulation analysis, some suggestions on choosing the sample size are given as well.

文摘This study aimed to elucidate the strength weakening effect of high static pre-stressed rocks subjected to low-frequency disturbances under uniaxial compression.Based on the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)of granite under static loading,70%,80%,and 90%of UCS were selected as the initial high static pre-stress(σ_(p)),and then the pre-stressed rock specimens were disturbed by sinusoidal stress with amplitudes of 30%,20%,and 10%of UCS under low-frequency frequencies(f)of 1,2,5,and 10 Hz,respectively. The results show that the rockburst failure of pre-stressed granite is caused by low-frequency disturbance, and the failure strength is much lower than UCS.When theσp or f is constant, the specimen strength gradually decreases as the f or σ_(p) increases. The experimental study illustrates the influence mechanism of the strength weakening effect of high static pre-stress rocks under low-frequency dynamic disturbance, that is,high static pre-stress is the premise and leading factor of rock strength weakening, while low-frequency dynamic disturbance induces rock failure and affects the strength weakening degree.

文摘Under hypersonic flow conditions, the complicated gas-graphene interactions including surface catalysis and surface ablation would occur concurrently and intervene together with the thermodynamic response induced by spacecraft reentry. It suggests that the traditional Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) simulation method, which relies on the Arrhenius-type catalysis model, would result in large discrepancies in predicting aerodynamic heat for carbon-based materials during reentry into strong aerodynamic thermal environment.

文摘The afterburning of TNT and structural constraints in confined spaces significantly amplify the blast load, leading to severe structural damage. Furthermore, the quasi-static pressure arising from the structural constraints sustains the blast door's deflection at a high level.
