In recent years,China has continued to promote the strategy of rural revitalization.The rural tourism industry has developed rapidly in the context of rural revitalization.Now the rural B&B industry has become an ...In recent years,China has continued to promote the strategy of rural revitalization.The rural tourism industry has developed rapidly in the context of rural revitalization.Now the rural B&B industry has become an important pillar in solving the problem of rural tourism accommodation.Most of the villages in China have begun to carry out the construction of rural lodging,for example,there are residents who use idle houses to carry out construction on their own initiative and projects developed by village collectives,so the rural lodging industry has been vigorously developed.The vitality of supporting industries and landscape resources around the distribution of rural lodging has become a hot spot of rural issues research in recent years.Therefore,we can use the method of data analysis to analyze the industry and function of the public area around the distribution of rural B&B.Through the comparison of data and the interpretation of related cases,the core elements affecting the spatial vitality of B&B public areas can be identified.We will analyze and improve the related elements to find a reasonable way to enhance the spatial vitality value.Finally,the article will put forward suggestions to improve the related spatial vitality as a way to promote the development of rural B&B industry and the progress of rural tourism.展开更多
As an important goal of urban design research,the evaluation of urban spatial vitality has been widely concerned.Taking Shenzhen as an example,the urban built-up area of Shenzhen was identifi ed using improved DENsi-G...As an important goal of urban design research,the evaluation of urban spatial vitality has been widely concerned.Taking Shenzhen as an example,the urban built-up area of Shenzhen was identifi ed using improved DENsi-Graph analysis,from the perspective of quantifi cation of urban spatial morphological features.The accessibility of urban streets,degree of construction and architectural form,and degree of functional mixing were quantitatively analyzed through space syntax,space matrix and mixeduse index(MXI),and the spatial vitality of urban built-up area was evaluated.Research results demonstrated that the improved Densi-Graph analysis could better identify the built-up area of Shenzhen,and the overall classifi cation accuracy was 0.810.The analysis results of spatial vitality showed that the urban spatial vitality in Shenzhen urban built-up area was well created.The street accessibility of Shenzhen generally hindered the creation of urban vitality;the spatial matrix value in the north of Shenzhen urban built-up area was lower;and the MXI of most areas within the study area was above the medium.展开更多
Numerous metropolises worldwide have adopted transit-oriented development(TOD)as a sustainable urban development tactic.And the node-place model is the most commonly used model for TOD typology.However,the spatial vit...Numerous metropolises worldwide have adopted transit-oriented development(TOD)as a sustainable urban development tactic.And the node-place model is the most commonly used model for TOD typology.However,the spatial vitality,one of the most fundamental aspects of TOD,has not been systematically taken into account in the node-place model.Therefore,this article introduces vitality as a third dimension into node-place model and develops the node-place-vitality(NPV)model,aiming to comprehensively re-classify and re-evaluate TOD performance.The independent weight coefficient method is used to compute place values,node values,vitality values,and overall TOD degree.Moreover,the categorization of TOD typologies makes use of the K-means++clustering approach.The model is employed in a case study in Wuhan,China.The results show that the TOD degree exhibits a spatial discrepancy,characterized as“high-medium-low”from the center to the periphery,not only in the whole city but also in the three towns.The geographical characteristics of TOD degree within station catchment area are revealed by the heat map.Five TOD types are identified and they present obvious spatial differentiation.The approach proposed in this paper furnishes urban planners and decision-makers with a scientific instrument for assisting TOD planning and strategies designing.展开更多
With the rapid development of rail transit,effectively developing urban underground space(UUS)in the metro zone has become an important approach to expanding urban space.However,UUS is currently facing problems,such a...With the rapid development of rail transit,effectively developing urban underground space(UUS)in the metro zone has become an important approach to expanding urban space.However,UUS is currently facing problems,such as an uneven distribution or even loss of vitality,which restricts the utilization efficiency of the space.Thus,we established a UUS environmental assessment system based on the‘‘comfort-aesthetic-function-traffic-structure”using space syntax,instrumental measurement,and questionnaire surveys.By constructing a partial-least-square structural equation model,the internal relationships between the UUS environment and corresponding space vitality and space perception under different study areas,namely the underground transportation-oriented space(transportation space for short)and the underground commercial-oriented space(commercial space for short),were studied in detail throughout the working day.Results indicate the following:(1)the UUS in the metro zone environment influences spatial vitality.The vitality distribution of transportation space is significantly affected by the spatial traffic and structure.The vitality distribution of commercial space is significantly affected by the spatial function and traffic.(2)The environment of UUSs in the metro zone influences users’s perception.The perception of transportation space is significantly affected by aesthetics and comfort.The perception of commercial space is significantly affected by aesthetic,comfort,and spatial functions.(3)The user’s perception affects vitality,and the effect is more significant in commercial space.This study provides an in-depth understanding of the relationship between the complex environment and its spatial vitality as well as the spatial perception of the UUS in metro zones.Our research results provide a novel approach and theoretical basis for the development and application of UUS vitality in various cities.展开更多
