This study provides an updated checklist of snake species in China,building upon the 2020 checklist and incorporating comprehensive review of relevant literature published from 2020 to December 2024,as well as pre-202...This study provides an updated checklist of snake species in China,building upon the 2020 checklist and incorporating comprehensive review of relevant literature published from 2020 to December 2024,as well as pre-2020 sources that may have been overlooked.As of the end of 2024,the Chinese Serpents fauna included 19 families,71 genera,and 355 species of snakes.Significant progress has been made in the past five years,including the description of one new family,one new genus,and 60 new species.One subfamily and seven subspecies were elevated to full status,and 12 species were resurrected as valid species.Four genera and 27 species were newly recorded,three genera and four species were synonymized,and one family,four genera,and 12 species were excluded from the documented herpetofauna.This updated list highlights the presence of significant snake diversity and unresolved taxonomic challenges,emphasizing the potential for further discoveries.It also identifies under-researched groups,stressing the urgent need for focused taxonomic and ecological efforts to enhance our understanding of snake biodiversity in China.展开更多

BACKGROUND Bothrops envenomation is a common medical emergency in tropical areas and is characterized by local and systemic complications,such as edema,coagulopathy,and tissue necrosis.Cardiovascular manifestations ar...BACKGROUND Bothrops envenomation is a common medical emergency in tropical areas and is characterized by local and systemic complications,such as edema,coagulopathy,and tissue necrosis.Cardiovascular manifestations are rare and poorly documented,contributing to the complexity of its clinical management.CASE SUMMARY We described a rare cardiac complication in a 65-year-old female patient,who initially presented with mild Bothrops envenomation.She experienced localized edema and erythema but with a lack of systemic symptoms.During the evaluation we detected asymptomatic sinus bradycardia and QTc prolongation(523 milliseconds)that progressed to severe arrhythmias that required implantation of a permanent pacemaker.Management included the administration of polyvalent antiphonic serum,fresh frozen plasma transfusions,and intensive care unit monitoring.Imaging and laboratory studies ruled out ischemic,metabolic,or electrolytic etiologies for the cardiac alterations.The patient recovered favorably after the intervention and was discharged without further complications.CONCLUSION This case underscored the need for cardiac monitoring after snakebite envenomation as well as further research on venom-induced cardiotoxic mechanisms.展开更多

The global incidence of Alzheimer's Disease(AD)is on a swift rise.The Electroencephalogram(EEG)signals is an effective tool for the identification of AD and its initial Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI)stage using ma...The global incidence of Alzheimer's Disease(AD)is on a swift rise.The Electroencephalogram(EEG)signals is an effective tool for the identification of AD and its initial Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI)stage using machine learning models.Analysis of AD using EEG involves multi-channel analysis.However,the use of multiple channels may impact the classification performance due to data redundancy and complexity.In this work,a hybrid EEG channel selection is proposed using a combination of Reptile Search Algorithm and Snake Optimizer(RSO)for AD and MCI detection based on decomposition methods.Empirical Mode Decomposition(EMD),Low-Complexity Orthogonal Wavelet Filter Banks(LCOWFB),Variational Mode Decomposition,and discrete-wavelet transform decomposition techniques have been employed for subbands-based EEG analysis.We extracted thirty-four features from each subband of EEG signals.Finally,a hybrid RSO optimizer is compared with five individual metaheuristic algorithms for effective channel selection.The effectiveness of this model is assessed by two publicly accessible AD EEG datasets.An accuracy of 99.22% was achieved for binary classification from RSO with EMD using 4(out of 16)EEG channels.Moreover,the RSO with LCOWFBs obtained 89.68%the average accuracy for three-class classification using 7(out of 19)channels.The performance reveals that RSO performs better than individual Metaheuristic algorithms with 60%fewer channels and improved accuracy of 4%than existing AD detection techniques.展开更多

Objective:To develop a rapid diagnostic kit for identifying snake venom types,aimed at providing a basis for clinical diagnosis and laying a foundation for early treatment through quick blood testing of injured patien...Objective:To develop a rapid diagnostic kit for identifying snake venom types,aimed at providing a basis for clinical diagnosis and laying a foundation for early treatment through quick blood testing of injured patients.Methods:Anti-snake venom immunoglobulin(IgG)was prepared,biotinylated specific IgG was screened,detection enzyme-labeled strips were produced,and rapid identification of snakebites was performed.Pre-experimental verification was conducted to establish standard curves and confirm specificity.The kit was tested on clinical samples and the results were analyzed.Repeatability and stability were evaluated through multiple repeated tests and experiments under different storage conditions.Finally,sensitivity and specificity were calculated,receiver operating characteristic curves(ROC curves)were drawn,and statistical analysis software was used for data analysis to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the kit.Results:The test showed high sensitivity and specificity.Conclusion:The rapid diagnostic kit for identifying snake venom types in blood tests demonstrates high reliability and effectiveness in clinical diagnosis.展开更多
BACKGROUND With the widespread use of hemocoagulase in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding,clinicians have become increasingly concerned about coagulation dis-orders associated with this medication.Risk factors fo...BACKGROUND With the widespread use of hemocoagulase in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding,clinicians have become increasingly concerned about coagulation dis-orders associated with this medication.Risk factors for hypofibrinogenemia asso-ciated with hemocoagulase are poorly understood.AIM To determine risk factors for hemocoagulase-associated hypofibrinogenemia in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding.METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis of the medical documentation of hospit-alized patients treated with hemocoagulase for gastrointestinal bleeding.Hypofib-rinogenemia was defined as a decrease in plasma fibrinogen concentration to less than 2.0 g/L.The included patients were divided into two groups:acquired hypofibrinogenemia group and non-hypofibrinogenemia group.We used logistic regression analysis to identify potential risk factors and established risk assess-RESULTS There were 36 patients in the acquired hypofibrinogenemia group and 73 patients in the non-hypofibrinogenemia group.The hypofibrinogenemia group showed higher rates of intensive care unit admissions(P=0.021),more female patients(P=0.005),higher in-hospital mortality(P=0.027),larger hemocoagulase doses(P=0.026),more Packed Red Cells transfusions(P=0.024),and lower baseline fibrinogen levels(P<0.000).Binary logistic regression was employed to examine the risk factors associated with acquired hypofibrinogenemia.The analysis revealed that baseline fibrinogen[odds ratio(OR)0.252,95%CI:0.137-0.464,P<0.000],total hemocoagulase doses(OR 1.074,95%CI:1.015-1.137,P=0.014),and female gender(OR 2.856,95%CI:1.015–8.037,P=0.047)were statist-ically significant risk factors.CONCLUSION Higher doses of total hemocoagulase,female gender,and a lower baseline fibrinogen level were risk factors for hemocoagulase-associated hypofibrinogenemia in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding.展开更多
Influenced by rapid changes in climate and landscape features since the Miocene,widely distributed species provide suitable models to study the environmental impact on their evolution and current genetic diversity.The...Influenced by rapid changes in climate and landscape features since the Miocene,widely distributed species provide suitable models to study the environmental impact on their evolution and current genetic diversity.The dice snake Natrix tessellata,widely distributed in the Western Palearctic is one such species.We aimed to resolve a detailed phylogeography of N.tessellata with a focus on the Central Asian clade with 4 and the Anatolia clade with 3 mitochondrial lineages,trace their origin,and correlate the environmental changes that affected their distribution through time.The expected time of divergence of both clades began at 3.7 Mya in the Pliocene,reaching lineage differentiation approximately 1 million years later.The genetic diversity in both clades is rich,suggesting different ancestral areas,glacial refugia,demographic changes,and colonization routes.The Caspian lineage is the most widespread lineage in Central Asia,distributed around the Caspian Sea and reaching the foothills of the Hindu Kush Mountains in Afghanistan,and Eastern European lowlands in the west.Its distribution is limited by deserts,moun-tains,and cold steppe environments.Similarly,Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan lineages followed the Amu Darya and the Syr Darya water systems in Central Asia,with ranges delimited by the large Kyzylkum and Karakum deserts.On the western side,there are several lineages within the Anatolia clade that converged in the central part of the peninsula with 2 being endemic to Western Asia.The distribution of both main clades was affected by expansion from their Pleistocene glacial refugia around the Caspian Sea and in the valleys of Central Asia as well as by environmental changes,mostly through aridification.展开更多

文摘针对轮廓复杂多变、细节信息丰富等多因素,导致变电建筑重建效果不佳的问题,提出基于轮廓拼接的变电建筑数字三维重建算法。基于改进Snake模型提取变电建筑目标轮廓,为后续的三维重建提供关键轮廓信息;基于获取的二维轮廓信息,利用运动恢复结构(Structure from Motion,SfM)完成变电建筑的三维轮廓重建;通过Jaccard距离和最近点迭代(ICP)算法将多个轮廓碎片精确拼接为完整的变电建筑三维轮廓,并使用附加三维线约束的网格优化算法对所构建三维轮廓实行优化,完成最终的变电建筑数字三维重建。实验结果表明:所提方法在变电建筑轮廓及三维重建中展现出高精度、细节保留良好且整体连贯性佳的优势。

文摘Objective:To develop a rapid diagnostic kit for identifying snake venom types,aimed at providing a basis for clinical diagnosis and laying a foundation for early treatment through quick blood testing of injured patients.Methods:Anti-snake venom immunoglobulin(IgG)was prepared,biotinylated specific IgG was screened,detection enzyme-labeled strips were produced,and rapid identification of snakebites was performed.Pre-experimental verification was conducted to establish standard curves and confirm specificity.The kit was tested on clinical samples and the results were analyzed.Repeatability and stability were evaluated through multiple repeated tests and experiments under different storage conditions.Finally,sensitivity and specificity were calculated,receiver operating characteristic curves(ROC curves)were drawn,and statistical analysis software was used for data analysis to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the kit.Results:The test showed high sensitivity and specificity.Conclusion:The rapid diagnostic kit for identifying snake venom types in blood tests demonstrates high reliability and effectiveness in clinical diagnosis.

文摘BACKGROUND With the widespread use of hemocoagulase in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding,clinicians have become increasingly concerned about coagulation dis-orders associated with this medication.Risk factors for hypofibrinogenemia asso-ciated with hemocoagulase are poorly understood.AIM To determine risk factors for hemocoagulase-associated hypofibrinogenemia in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding.METHODS We performed a retrospective analysis of the medical documentation of hospit-alized patients treated with hemocoagulase for gastrointestinal bleeding.Hypofib-rinogenemia was defined as a decrease in plasma fibrinogen concentration to less than 2.0 g/L.The included patients were divided into two groups:acquired hypofibrinogenemia group and non-hypofibrinogenemia group.We used logistic regression analysis to identify potential risk factors and established risk assess-RESULTS There were 36 patients in the acquired hypofibrinogenemia group and 73 patients in the non-hypofibrinogenemia group.The hypofibrinogenemia group showed higher rates of intensive care unit admissions(P=0.021),more female patients(P=0.005),higher in-hospital mortality(P=0.027),larger hemocoagulase doses(P=0.026),more Packed Red Cells transfusions(P=0.024),and lower baseline fibrinogen levels(P<0.000).Binary logistic regression was employed to examine the risk factors associated with acquired hypofibrinogenemia.The analysis revealed that baseline fibrinogen[odds ratio(OR)0.252,95%CI:0.137-0.464,P<0.000],total hemocoagulase doses(OR 1.074,95%CI:1.015-1.137,P=0.014),and female gender(OR 2.856,95%CI:1.015–8.037,P=0.047)were statist-ically significant risk factors.CONCLUSION Higher doses of total hemocoagulase,female gender,and a lower baseline fibrinogen level were risk factors for hemocoagulase-associated hypofibrinogenemia in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding.

文摘Influenced by rapid changes in climate and landscape features since the Miocene,widely distributed species provide suitable models to study the environmental impact on their evolution and current genetic diversity.The dice snake Natrix tessellata,widely distributed in the Western Palearctic is one such species.We aimed to resolve a detailed phylogeography of N.tessellata with a focus on the Central Asian clade with 4 and the Anatolia clade with 3 mitochondrial lineages,trace their origin,and correlate the environmental changes that affected their distribution through time.The expected time of divergence of both clades began at 3.7 Mya in the Pliocene,reaching lineage differentiation approximately 1 million years later.The genetic diversity in both clades is rich,suggesting different ancestral areas,glacial refugia,demographic changes,and colonization routes.The Caspian lineage is the most widespread lineage in Central Asia,distributed around the Caspian Sea and reaching the foothills of the Hindu Kush Mountains in Afghanistan,and Eastern European lowlands in the west.Its distribution is limited by deserts,moun-tains,and cold steppe environments.Similarly,Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan lineages followed the Amu Darya and the Syr Darya water systems in Central Asia,with ranges delimited by the large Kyzylkum and Karakum deserts.On the western side,there are several lineages within the Anatolia clade that converged in the central part of the peninsula with 2 being endemic to Western Asia.The distribution of both main clades was affected by expansion from their Pleistocene glacial refugia around the Caspian Sea and in the valleys of Central Asia as well as by environmental changes,mostly through aridification.
