It consists of seven stratiform and/or discontinuous lenticular layers extending over 4.2 km in length and having thicknesses ranging from 3 to 14 m. Mineralogical data show that the ores contain kaolinite and hematite as major and boehmite, diaspore, halloysite, amesite, anatase, and muscovite-illite as minor mineral phases. The computed Ce anomaly values in the ores range from 0.05 to 20.84. Conservative index (e.g., Eu/Eu*) suggests that this deposit is a product of alteration and weathering of basaltic rocks. Rhythmic increment of EREE values of the ores with approaching to the carbonate bedrocks shows an in-situ occurrence of lateritization processes. Mass change calculations of elements indicate that two competing processes namely leaching and fixation were the major regulating factors in concentration variation of REEs (La-Lu) in this deposit. The obtained results show that pH increase of weathering solutions by carbonate bedrocks, existence of organic matters, and the degree of comlexation with organic ligands played remarkable role in distribution of REEs during lateritization. Further geochemical considerations revealed that secondary phosphates, Mn-oxides and -hydroxides, diaspore, and anatase were the potential hosts for REEs in this deposit.展开更多

As a result of the challenges facing the cities of the Gaza Strip regarding population growth, lack of resources, increased demand for materials, the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip for more than twelve years, the smart city approach can contribute to mitigating these challenges and creating opportunities and solutions for many of these problems. Thus, this study aims to promote sustainable urban development through the adoption of smart city approaches using the city’s 3D representation and analysis capabilities to reflect and define the current situation and formulate a future vision using GIS and Building Information Modeling (BIM) considering Sheikh Hamad city as a case study. This involves developing a GIS web-based 3D model of the urban landscape of the city and creating a geometric descriptive database that includes the various elements of the city such as buildings, services and other facilities. The constructed database is to be automatically updated and can be used to facilitate documentation, transparency and help in decision-making process. The 3D smart city can also benefit stakeholders, government officials, private sectors as well as the city citizens. Therefore, urban services will be more efficient, and the cities of the Gaza Strip will be able to achieve sustainable development and competition in difficult economic, environmental and social conditions. This study recommends the use of BIM and GIS technologies in the transformation to a smart city concept as well as the rehabilitation of existing cadres to enable them to use those technologies to achieve the goal of improving the quality of life and facilitating the daily lives of people.展开更多

Port Fouad marine is a gas and condensate field located in Eastern Mediterranean Sea about 30 KM off Egyptian coast, in a water depth of about 30 m. The Concession is operated by PETROBEL on behalf of Petrosaid (Port Said Petroleum Company). The field was put on production on April 1996, from the Miocene turbidities sands of Wakar Formation plus Pilocene Kafr EL Sheikh Formation. Darfeel field is located within Port Fouad Concession, seven wells have been drilled till now and producing from Pliocene section (Kafr El Sheikh Formation). Pliocene is the main reservoir in Darfeel field which characterized by turbidities sand stone. The aim of this work is to identify the distribution of turbidities sand and characterize sand reservoirs using AVO (amplitude verses offset) and seismic attributes techniques. The workflow is starting from conventional seismic interpretation, maps (time, depth, and amplitude), depositional environments, and finally structure setting. In addition to use some of unconventional seismic interpretation such as seismic attributes. AVO analysis and attributes had been applied in a temp of differentiate between gas sand reservoirs and non-gas reservoirs. The final result aid to identify the reservoir distribution and characterization of sand reservoirs through the field. So, the use of different seismic techniques is powerful techniques in identifying reservoir distribution.展开更多
