However, currently used additives cause severe pollution if they are burned and exhausted. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a new generation of green additives. Graphene oxide(GO) consists of only C, H and O and thus is considered to be environmentally friendly. So the tribological properties of the few-layer GO sheet as an additive in hydrocarbon base oil are investigated systematically. It is found that, with the addition of GO sheets, both the coefficient of friction(COF) and wear are decreased and the working temperature range of the lubricant is expanded in the positive direction. Moreover, GO sheets has better performance under higher sliding speed and the optimized concentration of GO sheets is determined to be 0.5wt%. After rubbing, GO is detected on the wear scars through Raman spectroscopy. And it is believed that, during the rubbing, GO sheets adhere to the sliding surfaces, behaving like protective films and preventing the sliding surfaces from contacting with each other directly. This paper proves that the GO sheet is an effective lubricant additive, illuminates the lubrication mechanism, and provides some critical parameters for the practical application of GO sheets in lubrication.展开更多

Light weight components and sub-assemblies call for alloy sheet with high levels of stength and oxidation resistance. Complex component design calls for excellent ductility and ease of fabrication.The wide range of nickel alloy sheet alloys presently used in aircraft and land-based gas turbines is briefly described and typical properties presented. The results show that the tensile strength of aluminum alloy sh...The effects of Sr element on the forming properties of the Al-Mg-Si based alloy sheets were studied by tensile test, metallograph, DSC, XRD, SEM and TEM. The results show that the tensile strength of aluminum alloy sheet added 0.033%(mass fraction)Sr increases comparing with that of free Sr. Simultaneously, the forming properties of sheets evidently increase, the elongation hardenability (n) and plastic strain ratio (r) and Erichsen number increase 27.8%, 11.1%, 10.8% and 12%, respectively, and the forming limit diagram increases evidently, too. The analysis shows that Sr is surface active element, which can refine grains of alloys, promote precipitation, reduce activation energy ofβ' phase, and lead the formation ofα-(Al8Fe2Si) phase instead ofβ-(Al5FeSi) phase. The TiAl-based laminated composite sheet of 150 mm × 100 mm × 0.2 mm, with 24 TiAl layers and 23 Nb layers laid alternately one on another, was successfully fabricated using the electron beam-physical vapor ...The TiAl-based laminated composite sheet of 150 mm × 100 mm × 0.2 mm, with 24 TiAl layers and 23 Nb layers laid alternately one on another, was successfully fabricated using the electron beam-physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD) method. The microstructure and properties of the sheet were investigated on an atomic force microscope (AFM), a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and a tensile testing machine. The results indicate that the evenly distributed Nb layers are well joined with the TiAl layers, and the interfaces between layers are transparent, and every interlayer spacing is of about 8μm. The fractures appear to be a mixture of intergranular fractures and somewhat ductile quasi-cleavage ones. Despite its slight influence on ultimate tensile strength, the inserts of Nb layers efficiently increase the room temperature ductility of TiAl-based alloys due to the crack deflection effect.展开更多

The microscopic morphology and phase composition of specimens in various states were analyzed by atomic force microscope(AFM), scanning electron microscope(SEM) and X-ray diffractometer(XRD), respectively. The results indicate that the as-deposited TiAl-based alloys sheet has good surface quality and is composed of γ, α2 and τ phase. There is natural delamination inside the sheet, of which the microstructure is columnar crystal, and the component shows a gradient change along the normal direction of substrate. After the vacuum hot pressing treatment and subsequent homogenization treatment, the columnar crystal transforms into the coarse fully lamellar microstructure, the delamination phenomenon and τ phase disappear, α2 phase decreases obviously, and the composition tends to uniformization.展开更多

It is found that its characteristic is microregion instantaneous high temperature and the current cooling method, making the sheets cooled by the lubricating oil flowing through the friction surface, is not very efficient. Then, intelligent materials concept was introduced, the component and microstructure of intelligent Cu-based friction materials were designed, and the intelligent Cu-based wet friction materials as well as sheets were manufactured. And the intelligent friction materials working principle, i.e. the materials cooling the friction microregion in real time or the friction sheets cutting the peak value of microregion instantaneous high temperature during friction process, was given depending on the characteristics of the materials’ and friction sheets’ working process. Finally, it is indicated that the intelligent friction sheets excell the currently used friction sheets in properties, including anti-heating property, anti-wearing property as well as friction characteristic.展开更多

The results show that the TiAl based alloys sheet has a good surface quality, and its microstructure is columnar crystal. The component of the alloys indicates a regular and periodical gradient change which leads to the spontaneous delamination along the normal direction of substrate. In the TiAl/Nb laminated composites alternating overlaid by TiAl of 24 layers and Nb of 23 layers, the interface of each layer evenly distributed throughout the cross-section is transparent, and the interlayer spacing is about 8μm. The component of TiAl layers also changes regularly along the normal direction of substrate, but no delamination phenomenon is found. The TiAl/Nb laminated composites have better ductility than the TiAl-based alloys sheet.展开更多
