Against the backdrop of the modern-era conflict between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and Western medicine,during which Western medicine gradually gained administrative authority over public health,Chinese medicine...Against the backdrop of the modern-era conflict between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and Western medicine,during which Western medicine gradually gained administrative authority over public health,Chinese medicine faced an existential crisis.Due to Shang Han Lun(《伤寒论》Treatise on Cold Damage)being characterized by its emphasis on clinical efficacy rather than metaphysical speculation,and under the influence of Japanese Kampo medicine,which highly valued the study of Shang Han Lun and promoted Chinese-Western integration,Shang Han Lun Theory emerged as a primary breakthrough point for the scientification of TCM.Modern-era scholars of Shang Han Lun Theory developed innovative interpretations of the six meridians from multiple perspectives,including reinterpretation based on syndromic patterns,organ structures and physiopathological mechanisms,the Stage-based Model,and pathological location and nature.They also incorporated new scientific knowledge such as bacteriology,physiology,pathology,and pharmacology to reinterpret the etiology,medicinals,and formulas within the Shang Han Lun.Moreover,these scholars pioneered the clinical co-application of Western pharmaceuticals with Shang Han Lun–based formulas,introduced Western diagnostic instruments into TCM clinical practice,and explored institutional models of the Integration of TCM and Western Medicine.These innovations and transformations led to the formation of a new research paradigm within Shang Han Lun Theory,which not only countered the criticisms from Western medicine,thereby preserving the academic and clinical space for TCM,but also initiated a new educational model for Shang Han Lun studies.More importantly,it laid a crucial theoretical and practical foundation for the post-1949 development of the Integration of TCM and Western Medicine,marking a significant milestone in the modern history of Chinese medicine.展开更多

This paper was aimed to compare the clinical effectiveness and safety of adult male circumcision using the Shang RingTM （SR） with the no-flip technique compared with Dorsal Slit （DS） surgical method, A single-cent...This paper was aimed to compare the clinical effectiveness and safety of adult male circumcision using the Shang RingTM （SR） with the no-flip technique compared with Dorsal Slit （DS） surgical method, A single-centered, prospective study was conducted at the West China Hospital, where patients were circumcised using the no-flip SR （n = 408） or the DS （n = 94） procedure. The adverse events （AEs） and satisfaction were recorded for both groups, and ring-removal time and percentage of delayed removals were recorded for the SR group. Finally, complete follow-up data were collected for 76.1% of patients （SR： n = 306; DS： n = 76）. The average ring-removal time for the SR group was 17.62 ± 6.30 days. The operation time （P 〈 0.001）, pain scores during the procedure （P 〈 0.001） and at 24 h postoperatively （P 〈 0.001）, bleeding （P = 0.001）, infection （P = 0.034）, and satisfaction with penile appearance （P 〈 0.001） in the SR group were superior to those in the DS group. After two postoperative weeks, the percentage of patients with edema in the SR group （P = 0.029） was higher but no differences were found at 4 weeks （P = 0, 185） between the two groups. In conclusions, the no-flip SR method was found to be superior to the DS method for its short operation time （〈5 min）, involving less pain, bleeding, infection, and resulting in a satisfactory appearance. However, the time for recovery from edema took longer, and patients may wear device for 2-3 weeks after the procedure.展开更多
Objective:To investigate the characteristics of'Jin Shang',a specialized term in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)theory,in young adults with chronic neck pain(CNP)and investigated the correlation of'Jin S...Objective:To investigate the characteristics of'Jin Shang',a specialized term in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)theory,in young adults with chronic neck pain(CNP)and investigated the correlation of'Jin Shang'with pain intensity and living disabilities using cross-section study.Methods:The thickness of the bilateral splenius capitis and semispinalis capitis were measured by ultrasound imaging(USI)as the objective performance of'Jin Shang'.The visual analogue scale(VAS)and Northwick Park Questionnaire(NPQ)were used to assess pain intensity and living disability.The Student's t test was used to investigate the difference in neck extensor muscle(NEM)thickness between CNP patients and healthy controls.Pearson's correlation and multiple linear regression were applied to investigate the relationship between NEM thickness,pain intensity and disability.Results:Fifty-nine young adult CNP patients and 16 healthy controls were recruited in this study,in accordance with specific inclusion and exclusion criteria.The student's t test showed that in CNP patients,the thickness of the semispinalis capitis during isometric contraction was significantly thinner than that of healthy controls(P=.04).Pearson's correlation analysis also revealed significant relationships between NEM thickness,VAS,and NPQ,while multiple linear regression showed that the thickness of the NEM in CNP patients was a significant predictor of pain intensity and disability.Conclusion:There was a significant difference in the thickness of the NEM in young adults with CNP when compared to healthy controls.Alterations in the NEM thickness in both rest and contraction are moderately related to neck pain and living disabilities.Our results investigated the characteristics of'Jin Shang'using USI and revealed a correlation between'Jin Shang'and CNP symptoms,which demonstrates that NEM plays an important role in CNP.展开更多

Scholars have long hypothesized that silver can offer an independent proxy to characterize lead minerals. The summary of silver distribution associated with Shang and Western Zhou bronzes in this paper reveals an important difference between the south(Sanxingdui, Hanzhong, Jinsha, Panlongcheng, Xin’gan) and the Central Plains. Correlating silver with lead content as well as with the isotopic signature indicates that south China and the Central Plains had different lead sources during the late Shang period, and also that the highly radiogenic and common lead used at Anyang come from geochemical environments which cannot be distinguished by the level of silver.展开更多

文摘Due to the different versions of Nei Jing have been published in the past,variant of records have shown the different explanation of the original source of Wei Qi,thus there are two popular options are still under debate,Shang Jiao and Xia Jiao.Our research has found that the core reason of above dispute is caused by the vague understanding of the meaning of"Chu".Based on the analysis of relevant text of Nei Jing and the character of Chu with the meaning of leaving,it is concluded that"Wei Qi Chu Shang Jiao".And it means Wei Qi has left Shang Jiao of Zang Fu system and following into Meridian system,according to Wei Qi's connotation of following and protecting.Shang Jiao is the original starting point of Wei Qi in circulation just as it is born.And Shang Jiao is the place where"the slippery and tough Qi of water and grain"has transformed its name into"Wei Qi",which is also the conjunction point that Wei Qi changing from Ti(ontology)into Yong(methodology).And it explains the theory of clinical application based on this view.

文摘Objective:To study the effects of Shang Ke Jie Gu tablet on fracture healing in rabbits.Methods:40 New Zealand rabbits,half male and half female,were randomly divided into two groups:normal saline group(N group)and Shang Ke Jie Gu tablet group(S group).Each group consisted of 20 rabbits.Left radial fracture models in upper and middle sections were made in rabbits and then intra-gastric administration was given.Five rabbits in each group were killed on the 10 th,20^(th),30^(th) and 40^(th) day after surgery,left radius was taken to get an X-ray.The degree of healing was assessed by the evaluation criteria of Shanghai Orthopaedics Institute.Results:The degree of fracture healing in S group was higher in the comparison with that in N group.Conclusions:Shang Ke Jie Gu tablet might affect endochondral ossification during fracture healing of rabbits,and promote porosis and fracture healing.
