Because of the particularity of students in sports schools, the proportion of students with learning difficulties in mathematics is higher than that in ordinary schools, and the effective transformation of students with learning difficulties is also more difficult. It is related to the all-round development of students in sports schools and the long-term development of sports schools. This paper studies and discusses the causes and corresponding transformation strategies of students with mathematics learning difficulties in sports schools, and points out that short-term or long-term absenteeism, lack of motivation, weak will and lack of thinking are the main reasons for students with mathematics learning difficulties in sports schools The effective transformation can be realized by organizing absent tuition in time, cultivating students' interest in mathematics and good study habits, and establishing self-confidence in learning mathematics well.展开更多

Ideological and political course plays an important role in the curriculum system in terms of political guidance and value guidance. As a special group in special education, hearing-impaired students' effect of ideological and political course directly affects their personality formation and values establishment. Under the background of integrated ideological and political education, the material conditions, emphasis and teaching methods of the ideological and political theory course for hearing-impaired students in special education schools have been greatly improved. This paper focuses on the educational objectives, educational content, teaching materials and teachers of the ideological and political theory course for hearing-impaired students, explores the problems existing in the construction of the ideological and political theory course for hearing-impaired students in special education schools, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures, so as to promote the construction and development of the ideological and political theory course for hearing-impaired students in special education schools, especially for hearing-impaired students.展开更多

It is one of the most common gynaecological complaints worldwide and the most common cause of school and work absenteeism among menstruating females. In adolescent students the impact includes reduced attention in class, inability to study at home, school absenteeism among others. Yet these students have to study at the same pace as their peers, raising the concern of whether the problems caused by primary dysmenorrhea have an effect on academic their academic performance. Aim: Determine the prevalence, treatment practices and impact of primary dysmenorrhea on the studies of post-pubertal high school students in Bafoussam. Method: We conducted a cross-sectional descriptive and analytic study design using a two-stage sampling method;the first stage was by convenience to choose the school, and the second stage was consecutive to recruit the students. Data was collected using a semi-structured pretested self-report and anonymous questionnaire. Analysis was done using software IBM®SPSS statistics version 23 for windows. Categorical variables were summarised in to frequencies and percentages while the comparison of categorical variables was done using a Chi-square test, and a p-value ≤ 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. Results: our sample size was 898 and the mean age of our respondents (±SD) was 17.6 (±1.6) years. The prevalence of primary dysmenorrhea was 71.9%, with 11.6% mild pain, 52.5% moderate pain and 35.9% severe pain on a visual analogue scale. Over 38% did not attempt pain-relieving measures while others took analgesics, traditional preparations, heat packs among others. Among these students, 39% reported school absenteeism due to pain, other impacts were decreased attention in class, inability to study at home during pain and punishment from school authorities for failing to fulfil certain duties like assignments not done or absenteeism because of pain. Though a greater proportion of students without dysmenorrhea had pass scores than their counterparts, the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Given these findings, school officials may benefit from considering dysmenorrhea in the context of improving their school attendance rates and academic performance of their students.展开更多

The 3 + 4 Pilot Program (three-year secondary vocational education and four-year undergraduate education) has been under experiment since 2014. It has attracted more and more academically good junior middle school graduates to secondary vocational schools with the national and local favorable policies and laws. Except the three-year’s hand-on practice, what appeals most to the junior middle school graduates is the academic transfer under the Program, a breakthrough in history of vocation education in China. However, only initiating a new program is not enough. Shanghai government should map out a long-term plan to set up promotion to increase the public awareness to change the long prevailing outdated ideology in order to add more to its appeal of the Program. There is still much work to be done before expanding the scope of the Program.展开更多

Therefore this research was designed to study the specific factors that put undergraduates in ten selected tertiary institutions in southwest Nigeria at risk of contracting HIVAIDS, as well as determine HIV prevalence in these campuses and the viral load of positive subjects. 1000 undergraduates were enrolled in the study, over a period of forty-two months. Baseline retroviral screening was carried out, using a rapid commercial test-kit, DETERMINE®. Confirmatory tests were carried out on positive samples using Enzyme Immuno Assay (EIA) technique. The viral load of the positive samples was determined using Real Time PCR, while the CD4+ count was assayed using Cyflow technique. Four out of the 1000 subjects were confirmed to be positive, thus representing an overall prevalence rate of 0.4%. The CD4 count of the positive subjects were 479/L, 368/L, 420/L and 1063/L. Molecular analysis of the positive subjects’ samples using RT-PCR revealed that the level of viral RNA in two of the subjects’ was too low for detection, while the other two positive subjects had 20 cp/ml and 325 cp/ml of viral RNA in their samples. Analyses of both the negative and positive subjects’ questionnaires were carried out, so as to determine the probable risk-factors that predisposed the positive subjects to infection. Hypotheses tested at p < 0.05 revealed that there was a significant difference in the rate at which the subjects were infected with HIV among the age-groups.展开更多

Due to lack of standardization of the duration, content, and structure of midwifery education and different pathways to midwifery across the world, midwives may lack the confidence to deliver quality health care services in the main domain of the ICM competences. Aim: To assess the confidence of final year midwifery students in the domain of new-born care based on the ICM midwifery competencies. Methods: The first phase consisted of a quick situation analysis of midwifery education and regulation in Zambia, followed by a cross-sectional survey through a self-administered questionnaire to assess the confidence of final year midwifery students. Results: Most (51.9%) of the respondents were aged between 18 and 28 years, and majority of them were placed in Levels 1, 2 and 3 Hospitals and also clinics for their clinical practice, with between one hundred to ten thousand annual births, followed by 16.9% who were placed in Level 3 hospitals only. Most students (38.3%) reported receiving classroom instruction by both Lecture and Demonstration. Few students (22.7%) responded that they were not satisfied with their clinical supervision, while 77.3% were satisfied. There was significant association between confidence to perform skills independently and having enough time to practice on models in the labs (p value = 0.024), confidence when practiced for the first time on mothers (p value = 0.007) and satisfaction with supervision during clinical practice (p value = 0.000). Binary logistic regression of characteristics associated with confidence to perform new-born skills independently revealed significant association between satisfaction with clinical supervision and confidence to perform skills independently, 95% CI [1.83, 15.37]. Conclusion: Midwifery students need quality training both theoretically and practically in order for them to gain confidence in newborn care upon completion of their training. They need adequate time to practice on models in the skills laboratory, and need adequate clinical supervision for them to gain confidence in performing new born skills independently.展开更多

文摘In today’s world some changes have been occurred in human lifestyle, these changes, along with the advantages, have led to a series of disadvantages including their disconnection with the nature. One of the most important areas to re-establish the relationship is the school. The presence of nature at schools, and holding some classes in nature,in addition to meeting the special needs of children causes their separation from those small and boring classes as well as their interest in courses. This study aimed to investigate the role of nature in children’s learning. For this purpose, third, fourth and fifth grade classes of 3 schools were held outside the school environment and in the nature in 5 courses. The study is a combinational research and field, indirect observation and library data collection methods were applied, where in the indirect observation, two types of questionnaires were prepared related to the students and teachers and were randomly distributed among 580 students and 50 elementary school teachers.Test reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha and it was obtained to be 0.890.The results of this study indicate that the physical place as one of the factors in children’s learning has the maximum impact on teaching and learning of children. At the end of the study and by investigating the existing factors in the environment we understood that the expansion of the nature and natural light of it causes the students’interest in lessons in nature.
