Based on the characteristic of noise interfused during thecourse of sampling vibration signal, independent component analysis (ICA) method is combined withwavelet to de-noise. Firstly, The sampled signal can be separated with ICA, then the function offrequency band chosen with multi-resolution wavelet transform can be used to judge whether thestochastic disturbance singular signal is interfused. A method is proposed for the analysis of vibration signals from components ofrotating machines, based on the wavelet packet transformation (WPT) and the underlying physicalconcepts of modulation mechanism. The method provides a finer analysis and better time-frequencylocalization capabilities than any other analysis methods. Both details and approximations are splitinto finer components and result in better-localized frequency ranges corresponding to each node ofa wavelet packet tree. For the punpose of feature extraction, a hard threshold is given and theenergy of the coefficients above the threshold is used, as a criterion for the selection of the bestvector. The feature extraction of a vibration signal is accomplished by computing thereconstruction signal and its spectrum. When applied to a rolling bear vibration signal featureextraction, the proposed method can lead to be very effective. 展开更多

Based on DCT, a novel method for the fault feature extraction of hydraulic pump is analyzed. The vibration signal of pump is de-noised with CNC de-noising method, and the fault feature is extracted by performing Hilbert-Huang transform(HHT) to the output signal. The analysis results of the simulation signal and the actual one demonstrate that the proposed CNC de-noising method and the fault feature extraction method have more superior ability than the traditional ones. 展开更多

The nonsubsampled contourlet transform is used to decompose an image into a low frequency image and several high frequency images, and the scale-invariant feature transform is employed to extract feature points from the low frequency im- age. A proximity matrix is constructed for the feature points of two related images. By singular value decomposition of the proximity matrix, a matching matrix (or matching result) reflecting the match- ing degree among feature points is obtained. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm can reduce time complexity and possess a higher accuracy. 展开更多

Feature extraction is an important part of signal processing,which is significant for signal detection,classification,and recognition.The nonlinear dynamic analysis method can extract the nonlinear characteristics of signals and is widely used in different fields.Reverse dispersion entropy(RDE)proposed by us recently,as a nonlinear dynamic analysis method,has the advantages of fast computing speed and strong anti-noise ability,which is more suitable for measuring the complexity of signal than traditional permutation entropy(PE)and dispersion entropy(DE).Empirical wavelet transform(EWT),based on the theory of wavelet analysis,can decompose a complex non-stationary signal into a number of empirical wavelet functions(EWFs)with compact support set spectrum,which has better decomposition performance than empirical mode decomposition(EMD)and its improved algorithms.Considering the advantages of RDE and EWT,on the one hand,we introduce EWT into the field of underwater acoustic signal processing and fault diagnosis to improve the signal decomposition accuracy;on the other hand,we use RDE as the features of EWFs to improve the signal separability and stability.Finally,we propose a novel signal feature extraction technology based on EWT and RDE in this paper.Experimental results show that the proposed feature extraction technology can effectively extract the complexity features of actual signals.Moreover,it also has higher distinguishing ability for different types of signals than five latest feature extraction technologies. 展开更多

In this paper, we proposed a registration method by combining the morphological component analysis(MCA) and scale-invariant feature transform(SIFT) algorithm. This method uses the perception dictionaries,and combines the Basis-Pursuit algorithm and the Total-Variation regularization scheme to extract the cartoon part containing basic geometrical information from the original image, and is stable and unsusceptible to noise interference. Then a smaller number of the distinctive key points will be obtained by using the SIFT algorithm based on the cartoon part of the original image. Matching the key points by the constrained Euclidean distance,we will obtain a more correct and robust matching result. The experimental results show that the geometrical transform parameters inferred by the matched key points based on MCA+SIFT registration method are more exact than the ones based on the direct SIFT algorithm. 展开更多

Electroencephalogram(EEG) signal preprocessing is one of the most important techniques in brain computer interface(BCI).The target is to increase signal-to-noise ratio and make it more favorable for feature extraction and pattern recognition.Wavelet transform is a method of multi-resolution time-frequency analysis,it can decompose the mixed signals which consist of different frequencies into different frequency band.EEG signal is analyzed and denoised using wavelet transform.Moreover,wavelet transform can be used for EEG feature extraction.The energies of specific sub-bands and corresponding decomposition coefficients which have maximal separability according to the Fisher distance criterion are selected as features.The eigenvector for classification is obtained by combining the effective features from different channels.The performance is evaluated by separability and pattern recognition accuracy using the data set of BCI 2003 Competition,the final classification results have proved the effectiveness of this technology for EEG denoising and feature extraction. 展开更多

Addressing the challenges posed by the nonlinear and non-stationary vibrations in rotating machinery,where weak fault characteristic signals hinder accurate fault state representation,we propose a novel feature extraction method that combines the Flexible Analytic Wavelet Transform(FAWT)with Nonlinear Quantum Permutation Entropy.FAWT,leveraging fractional orders and arbitrary scaling and translation factors,exhibits superior translational invariance and adjustable fundamental oscillatory characteristics.This flexibility enables FAWT to provide well-suited wavelet shapes,effectively matching subtle fault components and avoiding performance degradation associated with fixed frequency partitioning and low-oscillation bases in detecting weak faults.In our approach,gearbox vibration signals undergo FAWT to obtain sub-bands.Quantum theory is then introduced into permutation entropy to propose Nonlinear Quantum Permutation Entropy,a feature that more accurately characterizes the operational state of vibration simulation signals.The nonlinear quantum permutation entropy extracted from sub-bands is utilized to characterize the operating state of rotating machinery.A comprehensive analysis of vibration signals from rolling bearings and gearboxes validates the feasibility of the proposed method.Comparative assessments with parameters derived from traditional permutation entropy,sample entropy,wavelet transform(WT),and empirical mode decomposition(EMD)underscore the superior effectiveness of this approach in fault detection and classification for rotating machinery. 展开更多

To extract features of fabric defects effectively and reduce dimension of feature space,a feature extraction method of fabric defects based on complex contourlet transform (CCT) and principal component analysis (PCA) is proposed.Firstly,training samples of fabric defect images are decomposed by CCT.Secondly,PCA is applied in the obtained low-frequency component and part of highfrequency components to get a lower dimensional feature space.Finally,components of testing samples obtained by CCT are projected onto the feature space where different types of fabric defects are distinguished by the minimum Euclidean distance method.A large number of experimental results show that,compared with PCA,the method combining wavdet low-frequency component with PCA (WLPCA),the method combining contourlet transform with PCA (CPCA),and the method combining wavelet low-frequency and highfrequency components with PCA (WPCA),the proposed method can extract features of common fabric defect types effectively.The recognition rate is greatly improved while the dimension is reduced. 展开更多

In audio classification applications, features extracted from the frequency domain representation of signals are typically focused on the magnitude spectral content, while the phase spectral content is ignored. The conventional Fourier Phase Spectrum is a highly discontinuous function;thus, it is not appropriate for feature extraction for classification applications, where function continuity is required. In this work, the sources of phase spectral discontinuities are detected, categorized and compensated, resulting in a phase spectrum with significantly reduced discontinuities. The Hartley Phase Spectrum, introduced as an alternative to the conventional Fourier Phase Spectrum, encapsulates the phase content of the signal more efficiently compared with its Fourier counterpart because, among its other properties, it does not suffer from the phase ‘wrapping ambiguities’ introduced due to the inverse tangent function employed in the Fourier Phase Spectrum computation. In the proposed feature extraction method, statistical features extracted from the Hartley Phase Spectrum are combined with statistical features extracted from the magnitude related spectrum of the signals. The experimental results show that the classification score is higher in case the magnitude and the phase related features are combined, as compared with the case where only magnitude features are used. 展开更多

Remote sensing plays a pivotal role in environmental monitoring,disaster relief,and urban planning,where accurate scene classification of aerial images is essential.However,conventional convolutional neural networks(CNNs)struggle with long-range dependencies and preserving high-resolution features,limiting their effectiveness in complex aerial image analysis.To address these challenges,we propose a Hybrid HRNet-Swin Transformer model that synergizes the strengths of HRNet-W48 for high-resolution segmentation and the Swin Transformer for global feature extraction.This hybrid architecture ensures robust multi-scale feature fusion,capturing fine-grained details and broader contextual relationships in aerial imagery.Our methodology begins with preprocessing steps,including normalization,histogram equalization,and noise reduction,to enhance input data quality.The HRNet-W48 backbone maintains high-resolution feature maps throughout the network,enabling precise segmentation,while the Swin Transformer leverages hierarchical self-attention to model long-range dependencies efficiently.By integrating these components,our model achieves superior performance in segmentation and classification tasks compared to traditional CNNs and standalone transformer models.We evaluate our approach on two benchmark datasets:UC Merced and WHU-RS19.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid model outperforms existing methods,achieving state-of-the-art accuracy while maintaining computational efficiency.Specifically,it excels in preserving fine spatial details and contextual understanding,critical for applications like land-use classification and disaster assessment. 展开更多

In this paper,PWD is used to extract these features. First,the feature of pseudocode is extracted using the amplitude output of PWD and the correlation filter technology. Then the feature of frequency modulation is extracted by way of PWD analysis on the signal processed by anti-phase operation according to the extracted feature of pseudo code,i.e. position information of changed abruptly point of phase. To meet the needs in the fundus examination,including outlook widening,pathology tracking,etc.,this paper describes a robust feature-based method for fully-automatic mosaic of the curved human retinal images photographed by a fundus microscope. The kernel of this new algorithm is the scale-,rotation-and illumination-invariant interest point detector & feature descriptor-Scale-Invariant Feature Transform. When matched interest points according to second-nearest-neighbor strategy,the parameters of the model are estimated using the correct matches of the interest points,extracted by a new inlier identification scheme based on Sampson distance from putative sets. In order to preserve image features,bilinear warping and multi-band blending techniques are used to create panoramic retinal images. Experiments show that the proposed method works well with rejection error in 0.3 pixels,even for those cases where the retinal images without discernable vascular structure in contrast to the state-of-the-art algorithms. 展开更多

Envelope analysis based on Hilbert transform has been widely used in bearing fault feature extraction. A generalization of the Hilbert transform, the fractional Hilbert transform is defined in the frequency domain, it is based upon the modification of spatial filter with a fractional parameter, and it can be used to construct a new kind of fractional analytic signal. By performing spectrum analysis on the fractional envelope signal, the fractional envelope spectrum can be obtained. When weak faults occur in a bearing, some of the characteristic frequencies will clearly appear in the fractional envelope spectrum. These characteristic frequencies can be used for bearing weak fault feature extraction. Considering that the surface defects of cold rolled strips are hard to be recognized by human eyes under high-speed circumstances, an automatic recognition technique was discussed. Spectrum images of defects can be got by fast Fourier transform (FFF) and sum of valid pixels (SVP), and its optimized center region, which concentrates nearly all energies, are extracted as an original feature set. Using genetic algorithm to optimize the feature set, an optimized feature set with 51 features can be achieved. Using the optimized feature set as an input vector of neural networks, the recognition effects of LVQ neural networks have been studied. Experiment results show that the new method can get a higher classification rate and can settle the automatic recognition problem of surface defects on cold rolled strips ideally. 展开更多

In order to extract the fault feature frequency of weak bearing signals,we put forward a local mean decomposition(LMD)method combining with the second generation wavelet transform.After performing the second generation wavelet denoising,the spline-based LMD is used to decompose the high-frequency detail signals of the second generation wavelet signals into a number of production functions(PFs).Power spectrum analysis is applied to the PFs to detect bearing fault information and identify the fault patterns.Application in inner and outer race fault diagnosis of rolling bearing shows that the method can extract the vibration features of rolling bearing fault.This method is suitable for extracting the fault characteristics of the weak fault signals in strong noise. 展开更多

Principal component analysis (PCA), wavelets transform or Fourier transform methods are often used for feature extraction. In this paper, we propose a multi-scale PCA, which combines discrete wavelet transform, and PCA for feature extraction of signals in both the spatial and temporal domains. Our study shows that the multi-scale PCA combined with the proposed new classification methods leads to high classification accuracy for the considered signals. 展开更多
