Discovering Changes in the Global Liquefied Natural Gas Marine Supply Network During the Russian-Ukrainian Crisis with Big Data

The recent Russian-Ukrainian crisis has had a substantial impact on the global natural gas supply landscape and brought major challenges to liquified natural gas(LNG)supply chain safety in many countries.However,academic research in this field remains scarce.This study aims to analyze the global LNG marine supply network changes during the recent Russian-Ukrainian crisis.Big data analytics are applied to the global vessel trajectory information recorded by automatic identification system(AIS).The weighted degree index indicates that global LNG marine supply is still primarily led by a few exporting countries,and the Middle East Port of Ras Laffan now occupies the central position.In 2022,the betweenness centrality and other indicators of the LNG shipping network showed a high middle and low end,indicating that the network has a certain degree of resilience.After the Russian-Ukrainian crisis happened,LNG exports from Qatar,the United States,and Russia increased.Resource flows have reshaped the competitive standing of countries.The European LNG market witnessed a significant intensification in the export competition between Russia and the United States.Despite the ongoing crisis,Russia's LNG export competitiveness remained resilient and displayed no indications of weakening.The results show new evidence for the changes in global natural resources marine supply influenced by the geopolitical events among countries.This has important implications for policymaking of LNG supply safety to the countries that rely heavily on imports. 展开更多

As global climate change problems become increasingly serious,the world urgently needs to take practical measures to deal with this environmental issue.In this sense,China’s carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals endowed an ingenious solution.Various industries in China have actively responded to this policy call,and various enterprises have started to carry out the work of carbon emission reduction,especially in water supply industry.In order to reduce carbon emission,we must first calculate carbon emissions and understand the level of carbon emission.At present,the carbon emissions accounting of water supply industry is mostly carried out on the partial work of some individual units within the enterprise,and there is no accounting case for the whole process of water supply work.This work innovatively proposes a method to calculate the carbon emissions generated in the whole water supply procedure.The carbon emission in the whole water supply procedure originates from the leakage of water supply network and the maintenance of water supply network,and all the carbon emissions involved in these two aspects are calculated.Moreover,the key points of carbon emission reduction are analyzed according to the accounting results,and a potential carbon emission reduction scheme is proposed.The research can provide a reference for the overall carbon emission accounting strategies and the construction of carbon emission reduction plans in the future. 展开更多

Blockchain Technology(BT)has emerged as a transformative solution for improving the efficacy,security,and transparency of supply chain intelligence.Traditional Supply Chain Management(SCM)systems frequently have problems such as data silos,a lack of visibility in real time,fraudulent activities,and inefficiencies in tracking and traceability.Blockchain’s decentralized and irreversible ledger offers a solid foundation for dealing with these issues;it facilitates trust,security,and the sharing of data in real-time among all parties involved.Through an examination of critical technologies,methodology,and applications,this paper delves deeply into computer modeling based-blockchain framework within supply chain intelligence.The effect of BT on SCM is evaluated by reviewing current research and practical applications in the field.As part of the process,we delved through the research on blockchain-based supply chain models,smart contracts,Decentralized Applications(DApps),and how they connect to other cutting-edge innovations like Artificial Intelligence(AI)and the Internet of Things(IoT).To quantify blockchain’s performance,the study introduces analytical models for efficiency improvement,security enhancement,and scalability,enabling computational assessment and simulation of supply chain scenarios.These models provide a structured approach to predicting system performance under varying parameters.According to the results,BT increases efficiency by automating transactions using smart contracts,increases security by using cryptographic techniques,and improves transparency in the supply chain by providing immutable records.Regulatory concerns,challenges with interoperability,and scalability all work against broad adoption.To fully automate and intelligently integrate blockchain with AI and the IoT,additional research is needed to address blockchain’s current limitations and realize its potential for supply chain intelligence. 展开更多

The Blockchain Neural Network Superior to Deep Learning for Improving the Trust of Supply Chain

With the increasing importance of supply chain transparency,blockchain-based data has emerged as a valuable and verifiable source for analyzing procurement transaction risks.This study extends the mathematical model and proof of‘the Overall Performance Characteristics of the Supply Chain’to encompass multiple variables within blockchain data.Utilizing graph theory,the model is further developed into a single-layer neural network,which serves as the foundation for constructing two multi-layer deep learning neural network models,Feedforward Neural Network(abbreviated as FNN)and Deep Clustering Network(abbreviated as DCN).Furthermore,this study retrieves corporate data from the Chunghwa Yellow Pages online resource and Taiwan Economic Journal database(abbreviated as TEJ).These data are then virtualized using‘the Metaverse Algorithm’,and the selected virtualized blockchain variables are utilized to train a neural network model for classification.The results demonstrate that a single-layer neural network model,leveraging blockchain data and employing the Proof of Relation algorithm(abbreviated as PoR)as the activation function,effectively identifies anomalous enterprises,which constitute 7.2%of the total sample,aligning with expectations.In contrast,the multi-layer neural network models,DCN and FNN,classify an excessively large proportion of enterprises as anomalous(ranging from one-fourth to one-third),which deviates from expectations.This indicates that deep learning may still be inadequate in effectively capturing or identifying malicious corporate behaviors associated with distortions in procurement transaction data.In other words,procurement transaction blockchain data possesses intrinsic value that cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence(abbreviated as AI). 展开更多

The rapidly growing seaweed farming contributes to food,feed,biofuel,and biochemicals,with Indonesia being the largest exporter of raw seaweed(53.35%)but low in carrageenan derivative products(4.49%).Sustainable farming supports SDG 13 and SDG 14 through emission reduction,marine ecosystem conservation,and increased biodiversity.However,its supply chain faces challenges in raw material availability,such as fluctuating harvests,inconsistent quality,limited logistics infrastructure,and market price volatility.Therefore,good environmental management is needed to optimize raw materials in carrageenan production through resource efficiency,environmentally friendly products,environmental regulations,and market and stakeholder awareness.This study identifies factors in the environment-based supply chain that influence the development of carrageenan production centers and analyzes their ecological impacts using quantitative SEM analysis.SEM analysis reveals that resource efficiency,waste management,environmental regulations,and stakeholder awareness and commitment are the main influencing factors.shows significant factors including raw material efficiency,waste management,and environmental regulations.Environmentally based supply chain integration for the development of carrageenan production center areas can be done by;focusing on sustainability and minimal environmental impact,support for achieving SDG 12,13,and 14,strategies for sustainable raw material management,circular economy,sustainability certification,renewable energy and environmentally friendly technology,and stakeholder collaboration and awareness. 展开更多

Empirical Research on Supply Chain Finance Innovation Promoting Environmental Governance and Ecological Protection of SMEs

This research examines the relationship between supply chain finance innovation and environmental governance effectiveness among SMEs,with technological capability as mediator and institutional support as moderator.Unlike previous isolated analyses,this study develops an integrated framework capturing the interplay between financial mechanisms and environmental outcomes.The innovative analytical approach incorporates“hard”and“soft”indicators,blockchain-based environmental performance management,and regulatory-financial integration.Hierarchical regression analysis of data from 1,682 manufacturing SMEs(2019–2023)reveals that supply chain finance innovation significantly improves environmental governance effectiveness(β=0.412,p<0.01),with 32.9%mediated through technological capability.Institutional support demonstrates substantial moderating effects(β=0.228,p<0.01),emphasizing the combined influence of finance innovation and technological capability on environmental outcomes.Cross-sectional analysis shows these effects are stronger among larger firms,private enterprises,and in developed regions.The findings enhance understanding of how financial innovation interacts with environmental sustainability through technological capability while highlighting institutional support’s importance.This research contributes to policy formulation and practice by demonstrating how innovative financial mechanisms can encourage improved environmental governance among SMEs. 展开更多

For any country,the availability of electricity is crucial to the development of the national economy and society.As a result,decision-makers and policy-makers can improve the sustainability and security of the energy supply by implementing a variety of actions by using the evaluation of these factors as an early warning system.This research aims to provide a multi-criterion decision-making(MCDM)method for assessing the sustainability and security of the electrical supply.The weights of criteria,which indicate their relative relevance in the assessment of the sustainability and security of the energy supply,the MCDM method allow users to express their opinions.To overcome the impact of uncertainty and vagueness of expert opinion,we explore the notion of picture fuzzy theory,which is a more efficient and dominant mathematical model.Recently,the theory of Aczel-Alsina operations has attained a lot of attraction and has an extensive capability to acquire smooth approximated results during the aggregation process.However,Choquet integral operators are more flexible and are used to express correlation among different attributes.This article diagnoses an innovative theory of picture fuzzy set to derive robust mathematical methodologies of picture fuzzy Choquet Integral Aczel-Alsina aggregation operators.To prove the intensity and validity of invented approaches,some dominant properties and special cases are also discussed.An intelligent decision algorithm for the MCDM problem is designed to resolve complicated real-life applications under multiple conflicting criteria.Additionally,we discussed a numerical example to investigate a suitable electric transformer under consideration of different beneficial key criteria.A comparative study is established to capture the superiority and effectiveness of pioneered mathematical approaches with existing methodologies. 展开更多

Capacitor-based pulsed power supply(PPS)is widely used in fields related to electromagnetic launch,plasma,and materials'synthesis,modification and processing.As industrial applications place higher requirements on compact and portable pulsed power supplies,the National Key Laboratory of Transient Physics(NKLTP)recently developed a pulsed power supply consisting of a set of compact pulse-forming units(PFU),each with a capacitor energy storage of 220 kJ.This integrated PPS comes with a complete system configuration,a miniature compact structure,a high rate of repetition,and high power,with energy storage density exceeding 1.2 MJ/m^(3).This paper describes the device-level design of the unit,the system layout,the control system,the thermal management system,and the experimental results of the pulsed power supply.The experimental results verified the good reliability of the PPS at high repetition rates with each unit module delivering an output current of more than 100 kA.Additionally,flexible current pulse shapes can be formed by setting the charging voltage and the trigger sequence of the PFUs.The pulse forming network(PFN)developed from these PFUs was successfully applied to electromagnetic launch. 展开更多

An appropriate spatial structure of a power battery supply network is crucial for the specialization and scale development of key components in new energy vehicles, accelerating the transformation and upgrade of the industry. This paper investigates the cooperative relationships among supply chain enterprises from the perspective of complex networks.Employing methodologies such as the gravity model and Moran's I analysis, it explores the spatial structural characteristics and correlation patterns of the power battery supply network in China and discusses the influencing factors using the quadratic assignment procedure,revealing the mechanisms behind the differences in the spatial distributions of the power battery supply network. The results indicate that the distribution of power battery enterprises is densely concentrated in the eastern and southern regions, whereas the western region has a sparse distribution. The spatial supply network consists of a four-tier linkage system, encompassing 135 prefecture-level cities, with Chongqing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and other cities particularly prominent. Overall, the degree of agglomeration is low, with coastal cities dominating the landscape and inland cities serving as complementary regions. Most areas are characterized as insignificant or low-high regions, and the regional linkage effect of core cities is not pronounced. There is a notable lack of significance and high spatial heterogeneity.Four types of factors—spatial factors, market factors, agglomeration economies, and innovation levels—jointly influence and shape the spatial structure of the power battery supply network. 展开更多

Rice straw,a by-product of rice cultivation,is commonly disposed of through open-field burning,which contributes to air pollution and environmental degradation.This study aims to identify the key factors influencing farmers’decisions on rice straw management and to develop policy recommendations that encourage the sustainable utilization of rice straw within the supply chain.A mixed-methods approach was adopted,combining qualitative interviews with nine key informants and a quantitative survey of 585 rice farmers across Thailand.Multinomial Logit Regression(MLR)was employed to analyze farmers’preferences among four management options:burning,composting,animal feeding,and selling.The results reveal that membership in farmer groups,ownership of livestock,access to baling machinery,knowledge,and skills related to straw utilization,ease of field access,availability of storage facilities,engagement in integrated farming,and year-round access to baling services significantly increased the likelihood of choosing sustainable alternatives over the burning straw.These findings underscore the importance of both capacity-building and infrastructure in enabling sustainable practices.Based on these insights,the study proposes a multi-level policy framework to enhance the value creation of rice straw.National policies should focus on expanding access to machinery and supporting innovation,while local governments should facilitate farmer training and improve straw logistics.Strengthening farmer organizations and market connections is also crucial for scaling adoption.Overall,structural integration and stakeholder coordination are key to reducing straw burning and promoting sustainable resource use in rice-producing regions. 展开更多

This paper begins with a discussion of the trust issues that agricultural supply chain finance faces.It then examines the constraints of using blockchain technology to enhance trust in agricultural supply chain finance in accordance with the technological and institutional logic of combining blockchain with supply chains.This study then proposes the creation of an agricultural“blockchain+supply chain”information service platform and a financing trust mechanism that can effectively ensure the authenticity of the initial information input on the blockchain,consistency between on-chain transaction data and off-chain physical transactions,the controllability of risks in the set up and execution of smart contracts,and the removal of information constraints,resource allocation constraints,and institutional constraints in the agricultural supply chain financing.This aims to improve the efficiency of financing in agricultural supply chains and contribute to the industrial development of rural areas and rural revitalization. 展开更多

Blockchain technologies have been used to facilitate Web 3.0 and FinTech applications.However,conventional blockchain technologies suffer from long transaction delays and low transaction success rates in some Web 3.0 and FinTech applications such as Supply Chain Finance(SCF).Blockchain sharding has been proposed to improve blockchain performance.However,the existing sharding methods either use a static sharding strategy,which lacks the adaptability for the dynamic SCF environment,or are designed for public chains,which are not applicable to consortium blockchain-based SCF.To address these issues,we propose an adaptive consortium blockchain sharding framework named ACSarF,which is based on the deep reinforcement learning algorithm.The proposed framework can improve consortium blockchain sharding to effectively reduce transaction delay and adaptively adjust the sharding and blockout strategies to increase the transaction success rate in a dynamic SCF environment.Furthermore,we propose to use a consistent hash algorithm in the ACSarF framework to ensure transaction load balancing in the adaptive sharding system to further improve the performance of blockchain sharding in dynamic SCF scenarios.To evaluate the proposed framework,we conducted extensive experiments in a typical SCF scenario.The obtained experimental results show that the ACSarF framework achieves a more than 60%improvement in user experience compared to other state-of-the-art blockchain systems. 展开更多
