The magnetic stripe signatures of the North Atlantic Ocean crust derived from Swarm and Macao Science Satellite-1 observations 被引量:1

The Earth's crust,the outer shell of the Earth,consists of continental crust and oceanic crust.Oceanic crust is created at the mid-oceanic ridge,where it is magnetized in the ambient field of the Earth.As new material is extruded,the crust spreads outward,retaining its magnetization.The reversal of the polarity of the Earth's magnetic field over geologic time leads to a pattern of striped magnetic anomalies.In this study,we carry out a preliminary evaluation on how data from the Macao Science Satellite-1(MSS-1),which has a low orbital inclination,influences inversion models of the oceanic crustal magnetic field when combined with data from the Swarm mission.For our modeling we use an equivalent source method based on a cubed-sphere grid.Our model captures the broad magnetic structure over the North Atlantic Ocean and demonstrates that the trend of magnetic stripes is consistent with the age frame of the oceanic crust.The amplitude of the radial magnetic field at 450 km the North Atlantic Ocean ranges from–11 nT to+8 nT.The addition of MSS-1 observations to Swarm data generates results consistent with the overall magnetic stripe pattern.The lack of short-wavelength scale structure reveals the limitation of high-altitude satellites in portraying fine features and hence lower-altitude observations would be required to delineate a more detailed crustal signature.It is expected to obtain a finer structure of oceanic magnetic stripes by combining low-altitude CHAMP field data and east-west gradient data derived from MSS-1 in future work. 展开更多

The color and pattern of watermelon rind are crucial external traits that directly affect consumer preferences.Watermelons with stripes having a stronger color than the background rind are ideal for studying stripe patterns in plants,while there is still limited knowledge about the genetic mechanisms underlying stripe coloration due to the lack of germplasm resources.In this study,we focused on a watermelon germplasm with colorless stripes,and genetic analysis revealed that the trait is controlled by a single recessive gene.The gene Clsc(Citrullus lanatus stripe coloration),which is responsible for the colorless stripe,was localized into a 147.6 kb region on Chr9 by linkage analysis in a large F2 mapping population.Further analysis revealed that the Cla97C09G175170 gene encodes the APRR2 transcription factor,plays a crucial role in determining the watermelon colorless stripe phenotype and was deduced to be related to chlorophyll synthesis and chloroplast development.Physiological experiments indicated that Cla97C09G175170 may significantly influence chloroplast development and chlorophyll synthesis in watermelon.The results of this study provide a better understanding of the molecular mechanism of stripe coloration in watermelon and can be useful in the development of marker-assisted selection(MAS)for new watermelon cultivars. 展开更多

Aegilops variabilis(S^(v)S^(v)U^(v)U^(v))is a source of resistance to wheat stripe rust.The phKL locus in Chinese common wheat landrace Kaixian-Luohanmai(KL)can induce homoeologous wheat-alien chromosome pairing and recombination.In this study,we confirmed that the whole 2S^(v)chromosome introgressed into wheat from Ae.variabilis accession AS116 conferred all-stage stripe rust resistance.The underlying gene(s),named YrAev,was mapped to the long arm 2S^(v)L using an F_(2)population.Two 2S^(v)-2B recombinants,derived from a cross of the 2S^(v)(2B)chromosome substitution line and KL,were confirmed to harbor the resistance locus.The physical region containing YrAev,determined from RNA-seq data,was 844.6-852.1 Mb on the chromosome arm 2S^(l)of the Ae.longissima(S^(v)genome donor species of Ae.variabilis)accession TL05 assembly v1.0.Differential gene expression analysis of post-inoculation with the Pst race has indicated two disease-resistance-related genes(annotated as mixed lineage kinase domain-like protein and nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat like protein,respectively)as promising candidates for YrAev.This study demonstrates the utility of the phKL gene system in alien gene localization and transfer.The resistant translocation line harboring YrAev can be exploited by wheat breeders as a novel source of resistance to stripe rust. 展开更多

We present a flexible manipulation and control of solitons via Bose-Einstein condensates.In the presence of Rashba spin-orbit coupling and repulsive interactions within a harmonic potential,our investigation reveals the numerical local solutions within the system.By manipulating the strength of repulsive interactions and adjusting spin-orbit coupling while maintaining a zero-frequency rotation,diverse soliton structures emerge within the system.These include plane-wave solitons,two distinct types of stripe solitons,and odd petal solitons with both single and double layers.The stability of these solitons is intricately dependent on the varying strength of spin-orbit coupling.Specifically,stripe solitons can maintain a stable existence within regions characterized by enhanced spin-orbit coupling while petal solitons are unable to sustain a stable existence under similar conditions.When rotational frequency is introduced to the system,solitons undergo a transition from stripe solitons to a vortex array characterized by a sustained rotation.The rotational directions of clockwise and counterclockwise are non-equivalent owing to spin-orbit coupling.As a result,the properties of vortex solitons exhibit significant variation and are capable of maintaining a stable existence in the presence of repulsive interactions. 展开更多

The wild decaploid species Thinopyrum ponticum(Podp.)Barkworth&D.R.Dewey is an important source of genes against biotic and abiotic stresses affecting wheat.The wheat–Th.ponticum partial amphiploid AUS6770 shows resistance to multiple diseases,including stripe rust,stem rust,and powdery mildew.Mitotic chromosomes of AUS6770 were characterized by non-denaturing-fluorescence in situ hybridization(ND-FISH),and the individual Th.ponticum chromosomes 1Ae to 7Ae were karyotypically distinguished by Oligo-FISH painting using bulked oligo pools based on wheat-barley collinear regions.A novel stripe rust resistant line A155,derived from AUS6770,was found to have 44 chromosomes,including a pair of 2Ae chromosomes and a pair of 6B-6Ae translocations.To detect plants with transfer of resistance genes from A155 to wheat chromosomes,1770 plants were developed from F2–F5 progenies of A155 crossed with the susceptible wheat cultivar MY11 and characterized with ND-FISH using multiple probes.A high frequency of transmission of chromosome 2Ae was observed,and 31 types of 2Ae chromosomal aberrations were identified using ND-FISH.Ten chromosomal bins on the 2Ae chromosome were determined from the deletion and translocation lines based on genome-based PCR markers.In combination with the evaluation of disease resistance,the gene(s)for stripe rust resistance was located on the FL0.79–1.00 of 2AeS and covers the corresponding region of 0–58.26 Mb in the reference genome of Th.elongatum.The newly identified wheat-Th.ponticum 2Ae translocation lines can be exploited as potential germplasm in wheat breeding for stripe rust resistance. 展开更多

Pd-based catalysts are extensively employed to catalyze CO oxidative coupling to generate DMO,while the expensive price and high usage of Pd hinder its massive application in industrial production.Designing Pd-based catalysts with high efficiency and low Pd usage as well as expounding the catalytic mechanisms are significant for the reaction.In this study,we theoretically predict that Pd stripe doping Co(111)surface exhibits excellent performance than pure Pd(111),Pd monolayer supporting on Co(111)and Pd single atom doping Co(111)surface,and clearly expound the catalytic mechanisms through the density functional theory(DFT)calculation and micro-reaction kinetic model analysis.It is obtained that the favorable reaction pathway is COOCH_(3)-COOCH_(3)coupling pathway over these four catalysts,while the rate-controlling step is COOCH_(3)+CO+OCH_(3)→2COOCH_(3)on Pd stripe doping Co(111)surface,which is different from the case(2COOCH_(3)→DMO)on pure Pd(111),Pd monolayer supporting on Co(111)and Pd single atom doping Co(111)surface.This study can contribute a certain reference value for developing Pd-based catalysts with high efficiency and low Pd usage for CO oxidative coupling to DMO. 展开更多

[Objective] The experiment aimed to explore physiological and biochemical changes of leaves after plants were mutated. [Method] A rice double mutant with stripes on stems, leaves and spikelets were taken as experimental materials to study the enzyme activity changes in different growth stages and amino acid variation in rice. [ Result] The SOD activity in mutant was higher than that in wild plant at tillering metaphase, but lower than that in wild type before heading stage and late flowering; the POD activity in three stages increased firstly then declined and the activity showed highest maximal activity at before heading stage. However, the POD activity in wild type showed the opposite change trend; the CAT activity presented degression at three stages, especially high at tillering metaphase, but reverse changes in wild type; the MDA activity decreased at three stages, but it was still higher than that in wild type, besides, the soluble sugar content of mutant was lower, but total amino acid content was increased. [ Conclusion] The expression of mutant characteristics was correlated with SOD, POD, CAT and MDA activity Changes and these changes made the mutant survive and rice quality change at last. 展开更多

[Method] Seedlings of 165 wheat cultivars from Huanghuai growth area were identified by wheat stripe rust under high temperature; then the wheat cultivars showing stripe rust at seedling stage were further used to identify the same resistance in field. [Results] 13 cultivars were proved to be stripe rust resistant under high temperature, and the expression stages of stripe rust in the 13 cultivars were revealed. The field identification results confirmed the identification results at seedling stage via inoculation of mixed stripe rust of physiological races. The stripe resistances of wheat cultivars were also proved to be non-race-specific. [Conclusion] Wheat resources in Huanghuai growth area are abundant in wheat cultivars with high temperature resistance to stripe rust. 展开更多

It is meaningful to provide technique support for integrated disease control by exploring the effective control measures of wheat stripe rust. Wheat stripe rust dynamic developments of all-planting and mixed-planting have been systematically investigated in this study by taking different mixed-planting combinations among 6 wheat varieties with different resistance levels. The results of this experiment show that the mixed-plantings of 4 and 6 wheat varieties can delay the occurance of wheat stripe rust,slow the speed of disease and decline the damage of disease as well as stabilize yield of wheats. 展开更多

[Objective] The aim of this study is to establish the model for forecasting wheat stripe rust occurrence condition using meteorological factors. [Method] Based on the data of wheat stripe rust occurrence degrees in its past prevalent years and the meteorological data at corresponding periods, the methods of grey correlation analysis and fuzzy mathematics were employed to establish the forecast model for four pathogenesis indices according to the time sequence before winter, Early March, Early April and Middle May. Thus, the criterion for forecasting the occurrence degree of wheat stripe rust was obtained based on the distribution method of arithmetic progression. [Result] The model corresponding to meteorological conditions for forecasting wheat stripe rust was successfully established. According to the verification, the forecasting results before winter and in Early Mar. were more severer than the real occurrence condition, while the forecasting results in Early Apr. and Middle May were basically consistent with real values. [Conclusion] The results of the present study may avail the control of wheat stripe rust in Henan Province. 展开更多

Yunmai52, developed by crossing with common wheat-Haynaldia villosa6AL/6VS translocation line 92R149 as a resistant parent in 1992, was a common wheat cultivar approved and released in 2007 in Yunnan Province, China, which is characterized by high resistance to powdery mildew and stripe rust. In this study,an F_2 population derived from a cross K78S/Yunmai52 was constructed to investigate the resistance genes, where K78 S is a wheat male sterile line susceptible to powdery mildew and stripe rust. Phenotypic identification of the parents, F_1 and F_2 populations and chi-square analyses showed that F_1 population was immune to stripe rust and powdery mildew; the segregation ratio of resistance and susceptibility to powdery mildew(χ~2=1.10χ~2_(1,0.05)=3.84) and stripe rust(χ~2=0.15χ~2_(1,0.05)=3.84) fit to a 3:1 ratio in F_2 population, indicating that Yunmai52 harbors a dominant stripe rust resistance gene and a dominant powdery mildew resistance gene. The individuals were further detected with a marker co-segregated with Pm21(SCAR_(1400)) and two markers closely linked with Yr26(XWe173 and Xbarc181). The results showed that polymorphic bands could be amplified between the parents and between resistance and susceptibility gene pools at the same locus. Randomly 96 individuals of F_2 population were selected for verification. The results showed that the phenotype was significantly correlated with the genotype. The detection accuracy of markers SCAR_(1400), XWe173 and Xbarc181 was 100%, 97.91% and 92.70%, respectively.Yunmai52 harbored powdery mildew resistance gene Pm21 and stripe rust resistance gene Yr26, which were both derived from 6AL/6VS translocation line 92R149.In addition, the results also demonstrate that Pm21 and Yr26 are two genes conferring durable resistance to powdery mildew and stripe rust in wheat. 展开更多

Based on the project of land macroscopical monitoring by CBERS,a remote sensing image of Arongqi in Inner Mongolia was studied by different methods such as histogram matching,principal component analysis,moment matching,low-pass filter and wavelet transform.A qualitative analysis and quantitative assessment was also carried out.The results showed that wavelet transform could effectively remove stripe noise,and also kept its advantages in the details.Moment matching had a better strip removal,but it changed features in its spectrum easily and it was not fit for CBERS-02 image processing.Principal component analysis could not remove stripe noise,but also strengthened it in a certain extent. 展开更多

On basis of the research result of stripe rust for 16 years since 1999,the epidemic characteristics and trend of stripe rust in the city were determined.Namely,the earlier the initial stage appeared,the heavier the disease would be.Furthermore,stripe rust has two introduction infection peaks,of which the first peak plays a key role.In farmlands,there are one to three epidemic peaks,and the infection area of the first peak plays the key role on the epidemic area of that year.In addition,the accumulated areas of late January was in significantly positive correlation with annually total area,with a correlation coefficient of 0.769 2.In recent 16 years,the frequency of severe stripe rust was as high as 81.25% which was 50% higher than that before 1995.The slight stripe rust became just in 2013,with a frequency of 6.3%,which indicated that the city has become a region hit by severe stripe rust.The internal reason is the reduction or loss of wheat variety's resistance to tripe rust for a new physiological race of rust is becoming pathogenic stronger and be the major race.Big fluctuation of temperatures in warm winter and spring,foggy and dew days slants much would be the external reason. 展开更多

In order to improve the performance of estimating the fundamental matrix, a key problem arising in stereo vision, a novel method based on stripe constraints is presented. In contrast to traditional methods based on algebraic least-square algorithms, the proposed approach aims to minimize a cost function that is derived from the minimum radius of the Hough transform. In a structured-light system with a particular stripe code pattern, there are linear constraints that the points with the same code are on the same surface. Using the Hough transform, the pixels with the same code map to the Hough space, and the radius of the intersections can be defined as the evaluation function in the optimization progress. The global optimum solution of the fundamental matrix can be estimated using a Levenberg- Marquardt optimization iterative process based on the Hough transform radius. Results illustrate the validity of this algorithm, and prove that this method can obtain good performance with high efficiency. 展开更多

Wheat stripe rust is a devastating disease in many regions of the world. In wheat, 49 resistance genes for stripe rust have been officially documented, but only three genes are cloned, including the race-specific resistance YrlO candidate gene (YrlOca) and slow-rusting genes Lr34/Yr18 (hereafter designated as Yrl8) and Fr36. In this study, we developed gene-specific markers for these genes and used them to screen a collection of 659 wheat accessions, including 485 Chinese cultivars. Thirteen percent and eleven percent of the tested Chinese cultivars were positive for the markers for YrlOca and Yr18nn (the resistant haplotype of YrlS), respectively, but none were positive for the Yr36 marker. Since there is a limited use of the YrlO gene in Chinese wheat, the relatively high frequency of wheat varieties with the YrlOcG marker suggests that the identity of the YrlO gene is unknown. With regards to the Yr18 gene, 29% of the tested cultivars that are used in the Middle and Lower Yangtze Valleys' winter wheat zone were positive for Yrl8RH markers. A non-functional allele of Yrl8Rn was identified in 'Mingxian 169', a commonly used susceptible check for studying stripe rust. The data presented here will provide useful information for marker-assisted selection for wheat stripe rust resistance. 展开更多
