If neglected, it can reach a considerable volume. The marginal gingiva is very involved in the tumor either in isolation or with periodontal and alveolar bone. The epulis sits classically on the vestibular gum, rarely on the palatal side. We report a case of palatal giant epulis which posed a diagnostic problem. Case report: This was a 50-year-old patient with a large tumor occupying the entire oral cavity and pushing all nearby organs. This lesion had been evolving for ten years, with a tendency to gradually increase of its volume. The orthopantomogram revealed the destruction of the underlying alveolar bone without signs of tumor invasion. Surgical excision was performed, removing all the tumor in the vicinity of the nasopalatine vascular pedicle. The pathological examination concludes with an inflammatory epulis. Conclusion: The epulis is a benign tumor of the gum, circumscribed, localized preferentially at the neck of one or two contiguous teeth. It occurs more in women, with a predilection for the vestibular side, rarely the palatal side. In the absence of appropriate treatment it can lead to a large tumor, posing a diagnostic problem and causing functional or aesthetic discomfort. Complete surgical excision with histological examination remains the solution. Healing without sequelae is the rule.展开更多

Methods: Collect all samples of patients screened for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis and HIV from one stomatological hospital in 2018-2019, and make statistics on the distribution of common infectious diseases among patients in stomatology, such as age, gender, type of treatment, department of treatment, etc. Results: The positive rate of hepatitis B was 2.27%, 39.42% in males and 60.58% in females. It was mainly detected by outpatient department, accounting for 87.5%. The age was concentrated in 30 - 60 years old, accounting for 77.88%. It was mainly distributed in oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics and implant, accounting for 82.69%. The positive rate of hepatitis C was 0.1%, 33.33% in men and 66.67% in women. It was mainly detected by outpatient department, accounting for 83.33%. The age is concentrated in 20 - 50 years old, accounting for 100%. It is mainly distributed in oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics and implant, accounting for 100%. The positive rate of syphilis was 0.18%, 33.33% for men and 66.67% for women. It was mainly detected by outpatient department, accounting for 83.33%. The age is concentrated in 30 - 50 years old, accounting for 100%. It was mainly distributed in oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics and implant, accounting for 83.33%. HIV was not detected. Conclusion: The positive detection rate of common infectious diseases in the stomatological hospitals is generally lower than the average level. Methods: according to the actual situation of our hospital, the performance evaluation scheme was formulated from four aspects: team professional ability, department comprehensive management, post responsibility risk and team evaluation. The key indicators were given different weights, and the corresponding evaluation standards were formulated. The nursing department carried out the evaluation score every month as the basis for bonus distribution, emphasizing the preferential distribution to high-risk and high-intensity posts. Summarize the assessment results and compare the professional level, nursing quality and head nurse satisfaction of nurses in the whole hospital before and after the implementation of the scheme. Results: after the implementation of head nurse performance appraisal, the three indexes were significantly improved (P < 0.05). Conclusion: the implementation of the performance appraisal scheme for head nurses has greatly improved the work enthusiasm and initiative of head nurses, promoted the continuous improvement of nursing quality in the whole hospital, guaranteed nursing quality and safety, and significantly improved the satisfaction of department personnel with head nurses.展开更多

文摘Treatment of head and neck cancer with radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy can cause oral damage.Longterm treatment can damage the salivary glands, the oral mucosa, and the maxilla, leading to altered production of saliva and to multiple infections. These lesions can be prevented, limited or avoided by thorough evaluation prior to treatment and by therapeutic followup and preventive measures. The dentist must have strong medical knowledge of the possible short-,medium-,and long-term oral complications of the cancer treatment, and must have knowledge of the protocols for oral management of cancer patients. The availability of a multidisciplinary medical team together with a dentist to attend to the patient prior to the cancer treatment,as well as close communication between team members during and after treatment,is crucial. The aim of the present study was review the stomatological management of head and neck cancer patients treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy and summarizing current treatments, therapeutic innovation and tissue regeneration perspectives.
文摘Objective: to establish a performance appraisal scheme for head nurses in stomatological hospitals, and to explore the impact of the implementation of the scheme on the nursing management effect of the whole hospital. Conclusion: the implementation of the performance appraisal scheme for head nurses has greatly improved the work enthusiasm and initiative of head nurses, promoted the continuous improvement of nursing quality in the whole hospital, guaranteed nursing quality and safety, and significantly improved the satisfaction of department personnel with head nurses.

文摘For both animal and human tissues, translucence is an intrinsic property that gives them a milky appearance. This optical property arises due to the combined effects of light absorption and scattering and becomes the main impediment of deep imaging. To overcome these obstacles, the tissue-clearing technique has experienced a resurgence over the past century and evolved from its initial use in neuroscience to encompass various samples due to the emergence of various clearing methods.Notably, these techniques unveil both macroscopic and microscopic details, offering valuable insights into tissue structures. In particular, the oral cavity is structured with both soft and hard tissues at the macroscopic level and is rich in neurovascular networks microscopically, providing a suitable application environment for tissueclearing techniques.Currently,tissue-clearing techniques have provided a powerful tool for research on the dental pulp neurovascular system, oral tissue regeneration, dental implants, and maxillofacial surgical treatments.Hence, this review aims to give a general introduction to tissue-clearing techniques and focus on their remarkable applications in dental research. At last,we will discuss the integration of tissue-clearing methods with other techniques such as labeling and microscopy, hoping to offer valuable insights for the development of tissue-clearing techniques in both bioscience and materials science.
