From male and female individuals, three amplification bands with the lengths 220, 550 and 1500 hp were displayed, respectively. A fragment of potential novel gene was displayed in the band of 550 hp. It possibly coded 53 amino acid residues, whose amino acids had sequences in 96%, 94%, 90% and 47% similarities to those of the genes Sox 8, Sox 9, Sod o and SRY of mouse, and in 64%, 94%, 58% and 40% similarities to them of human, respectively. Accordingly, it was named PdSox 8. Northern blotting result indicated overexpression of it in adult liver and brain.展开更多
