This study focuses on the existing cultural souvenirs in Changsha,utilizing various methods such as hierarchical analysis and surveys to analyze consumer preferences across four dimensions:visual appearance,functional...This study focuses on the existing cultural souvenirs in Changsha,utilizing various methods such as hierarchical analysis and surveys to analyze consumer preferences across four dimensions:visual appearance,functional application,product quality,and intrinsic value.Based on preliminary research combined with quantitative analysis using the Kano model,this study categorizes user demands for Changsha cultural souvenirs and quantifies satisfaction with these demands using the Better-Worse Coefficient method and Four Quadrant Analysis.The results indicate that there is a high demand for the functionality and cultural attributes of Changsha cultural souvenirs.Based on these findings,this research proposes three innovative design strategies:first,innovating design elements to inject fun;second,enhancing interactivity to improve the user experience;and third,personalizing designs to expand influence.This study aims to provide references and design ideas for similar types of cultural souvenir designs.展开更多

Tourism is an important industry to generate the income to Thailand.The local authorities try to motivate people to travel to the tourist attractions for tourism and shopping.Shopping is a popular tourist activity,esp...Tourism is an important industry to generate the income to Thailand.The local authorities try to motivate people to travel to the tourist attractions for tourism and shopping.Shopping is a popular tourist activity,especially purchasing the souvenir in tourist attractions to remind them of the memory of the place they used to visit.This study aims to identify the travel motivation of the domestic tourists to visit the destination,to examine the shopping area attributes that attract the tourist to buy the souvenir,and to analyze the effect of domestic tourist motivation on shopping area attribute in Thale Noi,Phatthalung Province.Data were collected from 400 domestic tourists who had traveled to Thale Noi,Phatthalung using factor analysis dimensions based on Likert-type scales.The researcher applied structured questionnaire in 5-level rating scale.The data collection consumed six months between March and August 2016.The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics,Pearson’s product moment coefficients and multiple regression to analyze the relationship between variables.The result indicated that the factors of tourist motivation that influenced the shopping area attribute are natural resources,enhancing relation,and seeking relaxation.The shopping area attributes that influenced the tourist to purchase souvenir are economic,promotion,and image represented in high level.The tourist motivations influencing tourists to purchase the souvenir are fulfilling prestige,variety seeking,and history and culture related to shopping area attribute.Therefore,souvenir business should apply the tourist motivation to their business plan and should combine the souvenir to the uniqueness of each shopping area attribute including local environment,image of the shop,product price and value,promotion,location,salesperson,and the unique souvenirs that represent the local image.These strategies could generate the income and profit to the locals and create delightful atmosphere to the tourists who visit the destination.展开更多

Japanese communities associated with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations(FAO)Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems(GIAHS)program have tried to develop tourism products that take adva...Japanese communities associated with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations(FAO)Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems(GIAHS)program have tried to develop tourism products that take advantage of their certification as a GIAHS site.As the experience economy is gaining more importance in society,tapping into tourism is a realistic choice for the communities that face aging and declining populations.In this study,we look at how stories(narratives)are attached to agricultural products and culture and identify issues in making experience-based products in GIAHS areas in Japan.We used an inductive approach to analyze qualitative data collected mainly by interviews and observations.For the analysis,we followed the standard analytical techniques,that is,searching for patterns of similarities and differences of transcribed data and refining ideas using diagrams.Field work was conducted in Oita GIAHS,Gifu GIAHS and Shizuoka Chagusaba GIAHS that represent all GIAHS types in Japan.This research shows that the landscape type of GIAHS can develop various souvenirs with different stories extracted from GIAHS certification documents from crafts to foodstuffs.On the other hand,in the farming method type of GIAHS,narratives are confined to a single agricultural product and its production method.Another finding is that two layers of narratives exist in the experience-based products in GIAHS areas.The first layer is created utilizing already known agricultural and cultural traditions in a locality.The second layer is a GIAHS story added to the first layer as a scientific reinterpretation of local agricultural heritage.展开更多
