文摘Background:Social media addiction, one of the behavioural addictions,is a significant predictor of job performance. It has also been posited that individuals whose fundamental requirements(e.g.,sleep)are not sufficiently met andwho lack adequate support(e.g.,perceived social support)are incapable of effectivelyharnessing theirpotential. The primary objective of this study is to examine themediating effects of sleep disorder and perceived social support on the relationship between social media addiction and job performance.Furthermore,it seeks to explore the moderating effects of perceived social support on sleep disorders and job performance. Methods:The data were collected through the questionnairemethod, and data analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0.Moreover,statistical analysis encompasses correlation analysis, mediation, and moderation analysis. The data were gathered from 488 healthcare professionals(57.2%female),whose ages ranged from 24 to 56 years(Meanage±SD=37.86±6.71),using a convenience sample approach. Results:The results revealed significant relationships between social media addiction, job performance, perceived social support, and sleep disorder. The findings indicate that social media addiction negatively predicts job performance(β=−0.11,p<0.05).Sleep disorder(effect size=−0.02,95%CI=[−0.04,−0.00])and perceived social support(effect size=−0.01,95%CI=[−0.02,−0.00])mediate this relationship.Furthermore, perceived social supportmoderates the pathway between sleep disorder and job performance(index ofmoderatedmediation:−0.0040,95%CI=[−0.0070,−0.0010]).Conclusions:This study suggests that social media addiction negatively affects job performance through sleep disorders and perceived social support among healthcare professionals. The study’s findings are significant,as they suggest that treatments aimed at alleviating sleep disorders and enhancing perceived social support among medical workers may improve their job performance.
文摘Social media has emerged as a major global influence on consumer behavior in recent years.User-generated,interactive content is made possible by platforms like Facebook,Instagram,YouTube, and TikTok,and it has a big impact on opinions and buying decisions. Therefore, the objective of this research was to examine the influence of social media(online reviews, social media influencers,eWOM,advertisements, social media usage laws, and information)on consumers’purchase decisions of electronic products.Guided by the theory of planned behavior and social influence theory,a quantitative approach was used, with data collected via a structured questionnaire from 150 respondents over four weeks.Analysis was conducted using SPSS 30.SPSS analysis demonstrated that social media usage laws and social media influencers had a strong positive correlation with consumers’purchase decisions, highlighting their pivotal role in shaping preferences and disseminating information.Reliable and accessible product information also emerged as a significant predictor of consumer choices. In contrast, online reviews,eWOM,and advertisements exhibited minimal influence within this context or might have adverse influence. This article provides guidelines for electronic products to prioritize social media strategies, invest in high-quality information dissemination, and leverage influencer partnerships to effectively engage consumers and drive sales.

文摘Social animals often form dynamic relationships with group members, which have been associated with increased social learning, survival and reproductive success.Social relationships can be shaped by both group and individual factors;however, few studies have addressed their combined impact. In this study,we aimed to examine whether group factors and individual factors jointly affect social relations. We selected Budgerigars(Melopsittacus undulatus)as the focal species to investigate the influence of sex, personality, and body length as well as sex ratio and group size on social relationships. The results showed that the birds in 3-individual groups had higher aggression network weighted degree values than those in 5-individual groups.Individuals within opposite-sex groups showed higher levels of aggressive and affiliative interactions than those in same-sex groups.Additionally, females attained higher social ranks despite exhibiting significantly lower aggression behaviors than males.Individuals with longer body lengths exhibited higher aggression network weighted degree values. Our results suggest that group factors primarily influence the social networks, while individual factors play important roles in shaping the social relationships.

文摘Social behaviors are crucial for gregarious animals, including humans. In order to exhibit appropriate behaviors in a complex social context, such as mating, aggression, avoidance, and cooperation, individuals need to remember their previous experiences with other members and accurately recognize them when they meet again. This ability is called“social memory”[1].Many psychiatric disorders in humans, such as autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and schizophrenia, are characterized by social memory impairments.Patients with these disorders, along with corresponding animal models, often show defects associated with the thalamic reticular nucleus(TRN).The TRN,a thin layer of neurons surrounding the thalamus, mainly regulates and coordinates the transfer of information between the cortex and the thalamus, playing a role in higher brain functions such as consciousness, attention, and sensory processing. However, whether the TRN is involved in social memory remains unknown.
