Analysis of Satisfaction with Business Cost in Shanghai Using Structural Equation Modeling Approach

Tracing the origins of business cost, to define the satisfaction assessment factors on the business cost in Shanghai was investigated in this paper. Arguing that these effects: a single low cost is not only the criterion determining satisfaction. Other important factors, such as enterprise internal cognitive attitude,stability of the external environment,the quality of perceptions of government services can affect satisfaction. Within structural equation modeling( SEM) approach, six sets of hypotheses are drawn up and tested with a sample of 338 enterprises using questionnaires. Additionally,the analyses of findings introduce the crucial importance of these features in the assessment of satisfaction with business cost in Shanghai. Finally, the results show that internal cognitive has a positive impact on satisfaction. Stability of the external environment has a significant relationship with the effectiveness of government services. Stability of the external environmeat and the effectiveness of government servises have a positive effect on satisfaction. 展开更多

In order to know about the essence of service employees' innovation behavior, the service employees' innovation behavior scale based on their unique characteristics is designed. Data were collected from high-star hospitalities. Through the issuance and the collection of questionnaires, the scale is verified to have good reliability and validity by SPSS software analysis. Meanwhile,the structural equation model( SEM) is suited for testing structural dimensions of service employees' innovation behavior. The results showed that service employees' innovation behavior could be decomposed into a four-dimensional structure,namely innovation orientation, ideas generation, innovation implementation and innovation practice. In addition,there are significant differences in service employees' innovation behavior about subjects' gender,position,education background and years of working. 展开更多

In order to find out which factor can influence equipment maintenance quality greatly and achieve sophisticated management,characteristic quantities of six factors are presented. A structural equation modeling( SEM) is designed using the six factors as latent variables and their characteristic quantities as the observed variable.According to the basic data obtained from the questionnaire survey,calculate the standardized regression weight by parameter estimation of the SEM. Objectives:Teachers are facing unprecedented new challenges leading them to face an increasing number of tasks that are not part of their job,as well as having to cope with the additional skills acquisition that comes with non-traditional forms of teaching and learning,and increased work pressure leading to an increase in the rate of teachers leaving the profession.Therefore,this study aims to explore the mechanism of the career calling on job burnout through career adaptability and work engagement.Methods:This study conducted a cross-sectional survey of 465 primary and secondary school teachers(PSST)in China's Mainland from the perspective of work adjustment and used structural equation modeling(SEM)to examine the mediating roles of career adaptability and work engagement in the relationship between teachers’career calling and job burnout.Results:The results show that PSSTs are above average in career calling,career adaptability,and work engagement,while job burnout is below average.A significant positive or negative correlation exists between career calling,career adaptability,work engagement,and job burnout.The result of path analysis indicates that career adaptability and work engagement exert an indirect influence on the job burnout of PSST through three paths:namely,the independent intermediary role of career adaptability(EV=−0.144),the independent intermediary role of work engagement(EV=0.172)and the chain intermediary role of the two(EV=0.176).Conclusion:This study emphasizes the importance of career adaptability and work engagement in teacher development in regulating career calling and job burnout.Therefore,on the one hand,we think that if managers want to reduce teachers’job burnout,they need to pay more attention to teachers’career adaptability and work engagement,rather than relying solely on teachers’career calling.On the other hand,it is to remind teachers not to rely on their adjustment to adapt to the work,but also to need outside help as much as possible. 展开更多

Adaptive conservation of natural resources determines the sustainable livelihood strategies of farmers in the semi-arid Loess Plateau region of China

Livelihood improvement and sustainable natural resource utilization are among the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals;however,most farm households either randomly select or just imitate livelihood strategies being practiced in other areas.As the livelihoods of farm households are vulnerable to several challenges in ecologically fragile areas,identifying the livelihood strategies of farm households in arid and semi-arid areas will help for promoting both livelihood security and environmental conservation.Hence,in this study,we constructed a sustainable evaluation index system for the livelihood of farmers in the Loess Plateau region of China by conducting field research and interviews.We employed the composite index method to measure the livelihood capital and the livelihood strategies chosen by farmers,and then analyzed the resource endowment of farmers under different livelihood strategies using logistic regression and structural equation modeling.The results revealed that under the combined influences of livelihood capital and government policy,farm households in the Loess Plateau region selected agro-dependent,agro-pastoral,agro-industrial,non-agricultural livelihood strategies.The key factors influencing the selection of these household livelihood strategies included the household labor capacity,the farmland owned per household,the number of livestock,and the grassland forage-supply ratio.The grassland forage-supply ratio was a crucial factor influencing the choice between agricultural and non-agricultural livelihood strategies.In this context,the grassland forage-supply ratio increased with the stocking rate.However,once the stocking rate exceeded 56.5 sheep/hm^(2),the grassland forage-supply ratio no longer increased rapidly under the agriculture-based livelihood strategy.The strategy of ecological resource conservation and moderate utilization based on the quality and quantity of natural resources ensures win-win benefits for the environment and human well-being in arid and semi-arid areas.Moderate grazing therefore has the potential to improve farmers’livelihoods without causing grassland degradation.These results contribute to the synergistic co-adaptation of livelihood improvement and ecological conservation in arid and semi-arid areas. 展开更多

The purpose of this study was to build a sustainable model to detect the relationship of the concept of international student mobility and the behavioral intention in higher education.Data from a total of 1,038 college students were collected in China,and exploratory factor analysis,SEM,logistic regression,t tests,and ANOVA were used for data analysis.Thefitness of the items for each scale of the international student mobility survey and behavioral intention survey indicated a sufficientfit and also confirmed the questionnaire’s structure by SEM.The logistic regression model show that college students with overseas experience agreed with“Social capital”1.9642 times more often than those without this experience,and“Global acculturation”is the essential indicator of international student mobility.The findings also reveal that gender,prior achievement,grade,and family economic status are critical factors for international student mobility.This study suggests that the period during the post-COVID-19 pandemic be classified to“Wave IV international student mobility”for sustainable higher education research. 展开更多

Spatiotemporal evolution of net ecosystem productivity and the driving mechanisms in Horqin Sandy Land,China

Vegetation in terrestrial ecosystems as a carbon sink is a crucial factor in mitigating global warming and reaching carbon neutrality targets,although the drivers of net ecosystem productivity(NEP)under combined human and environmental pressures remain poorly understood.In this study,we analyzed the spatiotemporal evolution of NEP in the Horqin Sandy Land,China from 2000 to 2020,and observed the variation in NEP across different land use types.We further identified and quantified the effects of human activities,topographical features,climatic conditions,and soil properties on NEP through the application of structural equation modeling(SEM)and boosted regression trees(BRT).The results showed that the multi-year average NEP ranged from–137.79 to 461.96 g C/m^(2) in the Horqin Sandy Land,with 88.21%of the area showing a significant increasing trend.Among different land use types,forestland exhibited the highest NEP values,followed by cropland,grassland,impervious land,and unused land.The NEP in carbon sink areas was primarily regulated by potential evapotranspiration(negatively correlated)and precipitation(positively correlated).Slope was identified as the most significant positive determinant in carbon source areas.Forestland exhibited climate–topography interactions driving NEP,whereas cropland and grassland relied on temperature;unused land and impervious land were susceptible to land use/cover change and human footprint.This study has significant implications for maintaining the carbon sink function and promoting ecological engineering programs that aim to enhance the capacity of terrestrial carbon sinks in the semi-arid agro-pastoral ecotone. 展开更多

Soundscape is critical in shaping tourists’experiences and perceptions of the acoustic environment of a park.Creating a well-perceived soundscape is an important factor in enhancing the quality of scenic spots and improving visitor satisfaction in parks.This study selected Park 1903 and Xishan Forest Park as examples of urban parks and forest parks to analyze variations in sound levels and sound source types in two different types of parks.Then,a structural equation model was constructed to unveil the correlation between soundscape perception and visitor satisfaction.The results showed that sound source perception was relatively lower in Park 1903 than in Xishan Forest Park,where natural sounds were more popular among tourists.Further,the perceived occurrence of sounds was higher in Park 1903 than in Xishan Forest Park.The sound level in Park 1903 slightly exceeded the noise limit(55 dB(A))for Class 1 acoustic environment functional areas,as per the Environmental Quality Standard for Noise(GB 3096-2008),while the sound level in Xishan Forest Park complied with this standard.In Park 1903,soundscape pleasantness improved with increasing degrees of dominance of artificial sounds.Moreover,soundscape pleasantness and richness in both parks had a positive effect on visitor soundscape satisfaction.Furthermore,gender and education level were the most influential factors for soundscape perception in Park 1903 and Xishan Forest Park,respectively.However,age and place of residence were not correlated with soundscape perception in Xishan Forest Park.In conclusion,the variations in sound sources and visitor characteristics remarkably affected visitor soundscape perception in different types of parks.The findings provide valuable insights and a theoretical basis for designing soundscapes and improving park visitor satisfaction. 展开更多

This paper focuses on the indicators of soil and litter health, disturbance, and landscape heterogeneity as a tool for prediction of ecosystem sustainability in the northern forests of Iran. The study area was divided into spatial homogenous sites using slope, aspect, and soil humidity classes. Then a range of sites along the disturbance gradient was selected for sampling. Chemical and physical indicators of soil and litter health were measured at random points within these sites. Structural equation modeling(SEM) was applied to link six constructs of landscape heterogeneity, three constructs of disturbance(harvest, livestock, and human accessibility), and soil and litter health. The results showed that with decreasing accessibility, the total N and organic matter content of soil increased and effective bulk density decreased. Harvesting activities increased soil organic matter. Therefore, it is concluded that disturbances through harvesting and accessibility inversely affect the soil health. Unexpectedly, it was found that the litter total C and C:N ratio improved with an increase in the harvest and accessibility disturbances, whereas litter bulk density decreased. Investigation of tree composition revealed that in the climax communities, which are normally affected more by harvesting activities, some species like Fagus orientalis Lipsky with low decomposition rate are dominant. The research results showed that changes in disturbance intensity are reflected in litter and soil indicators, whereas the SEM indicated that landscape heterogeneity has a moderator effect on the disturbance to both litter and soil paths. 展开更多

Objective To explore the influencing factors on job satisfaction of licensed pharmacists in R retail pharmacy,and to provide a reference for improving the job satisfaction of licensed pharmacists in China.Methods Through literature research and satisfaction questionnaire,349 licensed pharmacists in R retail pharmacy were investigated.Then,the influencing factor equation model was constructed by factor analysis and structural equation method.Results and Conclusion The overall adaptation of the structural equation model was well established.The job satisfaction of licensed pharmacists in R retail pharmacy was closely related to interpersonal relationship,work characteristics,good management,salary and growth opportunity,and it was not significantly correlated with job environment.Therefore,work characteristics influenced most,followed by salary.Five key factors affecting the job satisfaction of licensed pharmacists in R retail pharmacy are summarized in this paper.It is suggested to adjust corresponding key factors such as work characteristics and salary,so as to improve job satisfaction of licensed pharmacists in the same industry. 展开更多

How climate change adaptation strategies and climate migration interact to control food insecurity?

As the impact of climate change intensifies,climate migration(climate change-induced migration)has become a pressing global issue that requires effective adaptation strategies to lessen its effects.Therefore,this study delved into the complex relationship between climate change adaptation strategies and climate migration with food insecurity serving as a mediating factor.We collected sample data through face-to-face interviews in Khorramabad City,Iran from February to May in 2023.Using the Structural Equation Modeling(SEM),we explored how food insecurity influences the relationship between climate change adaptation strategies and climate migration.The findings showed that while climate change adaptation strategies can boost community resilience,their success is closely tied to levels of food insecurity.About 78.72%of the surveyed households experienced certain levels of food insecurity,increasing the risk of displacement due to climate-related disasters.Climate change adaptation strategies including economic strategies,irrigation management strategies,organic-oriented strategies,sustainable development-oriented strategies,and crop variety management strategies played a significant role in reducing climate migration.Moreover,we found that climate change adaptation strategies not only impact food security,but also shape migration decisions.This research underscores the importance of an integrated approach that links climate change adaptation strategies,climate migration,and food insecurity.This study emphasizes the importance of food security for formulating sustainable adaptation strategies. 展开更多

Disentangling drivers of organic layer and charcoal carbon stocks in boreal pine and spruce forests with different fire histories

A key property of the boreal forest is that it stores huge amounts of carbon(C),especially belowground in the soil.Amounts of C stored in the uppermost organic layer of boreal forest soils vary greatly in space due to an interplay between several variables facilitating or preventing C accumulation.In this study,we split C stocks into the organic layer and charcoal C due to their difference in origin,stability,and ecological properties.We compared organic layer C and charcoal C stocks in two regions of south-central Norway(Trillemarka and Varaldskogen),characterized by Scots pine and Norway spruce forests with varying fire histories.We used structural equation modeling to investigate how vegetation composition,hydrotopography,and soil properties interplay to shape organic layer C and charcoal C stocks.Pine forests consistently contained larger organic layer C stocks than spruce forests.Charcoal stocks,in contrast,were less consistent across both forest types and study regions as pine forests had higher charcoal C stocks than spruce forests in Trillemarka,while the two forest types contained equal charcoal C stocks in Varaldskogen.Charcoal and soil organic layer C stocks increased with higher fire frequencies(number of fire events over the last 600 years),but not with a shorter time since last fire(TSF).Additionally,vegetation composition,terrain slope,and soil moisture were the most important drivers of the organic layer C stocks,while charcoal C stocks were mainly controlled by the depth of the organic layer.Also,microtopography was of importance for organic layer C and charcoal C,since depressions in the forest floor had more charcoal C than well-drained minor hills. 展开更多

Background:Female fish farmers in coastal Bangladesh face significant reproductive health(RH)challenges due to occupational,nutritional,and sociocultural factors.However,their health burdens have been largely overlooked in labor and health policies.Objectives:This study aims to investigate the prevalence,severity,determinants,and emotional and relationship consequences of RH morbidities among female fish farmers in Shyamnagar,Satkhira,Bangladesh.Methods:A cross-sectional survey with structured questionnaires was conducted among 297 female fish farmers.Data were supplemented by rural appraisal activities.Descriptive statistics,chi-square tests,Poisson regression,and Structural Equation Modeling were used for analysis.Results:The study found that 59.60%(177/297)of participants suffered from moderate to severe uterine issues,remarkably menstrual irregularities(92.65%,164/177),backache(59.32%,105/177),pelvic and fatigue pain(42.37%,75/177),anemia(28.24%,50/177),with the"21-30"year age group bearing a higher physiological burden with greater relational and emotional disruptions than“31-40”year age group,and“41-50”year age group women.High exposure to occupational chemicals(81.82%,243/297)and lack of personal protective equipment(93.94%,279/297)were key contributors.Access to formal healthcare is limited due to financial hardships(85.86%,255/297),social stigma(51.52%,153/297),and inadequate health services(46.47%,138/297).Structural Equation Modeling results also revealed significant associations among RH morbidities,emotional distress,social isolation,and diminishing well-being.Conclusion:The study highlights the urgent need for integrated health policies addressing reproductive care,occupational safety,and mental health support for female fish farmers in coastal Bangladesh.Addressing these issues will improve their health,well-being,and resilience. 展开更多

Purpose:This study investigates key factors contributing to research impact and their interactions with the Research Impact Quintuple Helix Model by Arsalan et al.(2024).Design/methodology/approach:Using data from a global survey of 630 scientists across diverse disciplines,genders,regions,and experience levels,Structural Equation Modelling(SEM)was employed to assess the influence of 29 factors related to researcher characteristics,research attributes,publication strategies,institutional support,and national roles.Findings:The study validated the Quintuple Helix Model,uncovering complex interdependencies.Institutional support significantly affects research impact by covering leadership,resources,recognition,and funding.Researcher attributes,including academic experience and domain knowledge,also play a crucial role.National socioeconomic conditions indirectly influence research impact by supporting institutions,underscoring the importance of conducive national frameworks.Research limitations:While the study offers valuable insights,it has limitations.Although statistically sufficient,the response rate was below 10%,suggesting that the findings may not fully represent the entire global research community.The reliance on self-reported data may also introduce bias,as perceptions of impact can be subjective.Practical implications:The findings have a significant impact on researchers aiming to enhance their work’s societal,economic,and cultural significance,institutions seeking supportive environments,and policymakers interested in creating favourable national conditions for impactful research.The study advocates for a strategic alignment among national policies,institutional practices,and individual researcher efforts to maximise research impact and effectively address global challenges.Originality/value:By empirically validating the Research Impact Quintuple Helix Model,this study offers a holistic framework for understanding the synergy of factors that drive impactful research. 展开更多

Amid global climate change, rising levels of nitrogen(N) deposition have attracted considerable attention for their potential effects on the carbon cycle of terrestrial ecosystems. The desert steppes are a crucial yet vulnerable ecosystem in arid areas, but their response to the combination of N addition and precipitation(a crucial factor in arid areas) remains underexplored. This study systematically explored the impact of N addition and precipitation on net ecosystem exchange(NEE) in a desert steppe in northern China. Specifically, we conducted a 2-a experiment from 2022 to 2023 with eight N addition treatments in the Urat desert steppe of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, to examine changes in NEE and explore its driving factors. The structural equation model(SEM) and multiple regression model were applied to determine the relationship of NEE with plant community characteristics and soil physical-chemical properties. Statistical results showed that N addition has no significant effect on NEE.However, it has a significant impact on the functional traits of desert steppe plant communities. SEM results further revealed that N addition has no significant effect on NEE in the desert steppe, whereas annual precipitation can influence NEE variations. The multiple regression model analysis indicated that plant functional traits play an important role in explaining the changes in NEE, accounting for 62.15% of the variation in NEE. In addition, plant height, as an important plant functional trait indicator, shows stronger reliability in predicting the changes in NEE and becomes a more promising predictor. These findings provide valuable insights into the complex ecological mechanisms governing plant community responses to precipitation and nutrient availability in the arid desert steppes, contributing to the improved monitoring and prediction of desert steppe ecosystem responses to global climate change. 展开更多

Global environmental and socio-economic challenges have intensified the need to cultivate sustainable leadership competencies through educational systems.As education undergoes rapid digital transformation,smart technologies-such as artificial intelligence,adaptive platforms,data analytics,and immersive learning environments-are increasingly integrated into teaching and learning processes.However,their role in fostering sustainable leadership competencies remains insufficiently theorized.This study develops a conceptual model in which smart technology integration contributes to the development of sustainable leadership competencies through a sequential mediation pathway:systems thinking,environmental responsibility,and strategic decision-making.In addition,institutional orientation toward sustainable development is proposed as a moderating factor that strengthens the relationship between smart technology integration and systems thinking.The article advances the literature by bridging research on digital transformation,sustainability,and leadership development within a unified theoretical framework.It also provides a foundation for future empirical validation using structural equation modeling(SEM)/PLS-SEM and offers practical guidance for the design of sustainability-oriented educational programs. 展开更多

While the importance of tourist satisfaction has been recognized by academic researchers for at least four decades, adequate tourist satisfaction models have not been developed or validated. This study presents a tourist satisfaction model for a destination and explores the antecedents (tourist expectations, destination image, perceived quality, and perceived value) and the consequences (tourist complaints and tourist loyalty) of tourist satisfaction using Guilin for the case study. Structural equation modeling results support the tourist satisfaction model of tourist expectations, destination image, perceived quality, and perceived value as four key antecedents of tourist satisfaction, with tourist satisfaction having a negative effect on tourist complaints and a positive effect on tourist loyalty. Managerial implications are drawn from the study findings and suggestions are given for future work. 展开更多
