文摘Validation studies of global Digital Elevation Models(DEMs)in the existing literature are limited by the diversity and spread of landscapes, terrain types considered and sparseness of groundtruth. Moreover, there are knowledge gaps on the accuracy variations in rugged and complex landscapes, and previous studies have often not relied on robust internal and external validation measures. Thus, there is still only partial understanding and limited perspective of the reliability and adequacy of global DEMs for several applications. In this study,we utilize a dense spread of LiDAR groundtruth to assess the vertical accuracies of four medium-resolution,readily available,free-access and global coverage 1 arc-second(30 m)DEMs:NASADEM,ASTER GDEM,Copernicus GLO-30,and ALOS World 3D(AW3D).The assessment is carried out at landscapes spread across Cape Town,Southern Africa(urban/industrial,agricultural,mountain,peninsula and grassland/shrubland)and forested national parks in Gabon,Central Africa(low-relief tropical rainforest and high-relief tropical rainforest). The statistical analysis is based on robust accuracy metrics that cater for normal and non-normal elevation error distribution, and error ranking. In Cape Town,Copernicus DEM generally had the least vertical error with an overall Mean Error(ME)of 0.82 m and Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)of 2.34 m while ASTER DEM had the poorest performance. However,ASTER GDEM and NASADEM performed better in the low-relief and high-relief tropical forests of Gabon.Generally, the DEM errors have a moderate to high positive correlation in forests, and a low to moderate positive correlation in mountains and urban areas.Copernicus DEM showed superior vertical accuracy in forests with less than 40%tree cover, while ASTER and NASADEM performed better in denser forests with tree cover greater than 70%.This study is a robust regional assessment of these global DEMs.
文摘With the extension of the application domains for laser imaging radar, it is necessary to find a new technical way to obtain high technical performance and adaptive ability. In this paper, A new concept of digital receiver of laser imaging radar system is presented. This digital receiver is defined as a time varying parameter receiver which possesses large dynamics region and time domain filter. The receiver’s mode, component structure as well as every function of its processing are described. The results and laboratorial data show the feasibility of digital reception. Also, it can exploit the inherent nature of laser imaging radar to obtain high probability of detection.
文摘In this paper,a new direct optical triangulation(DOT) for measuring theout-of-plane displacement is given. In order to state its principle,DOT is used to measure a micro-displacement of a rigid body, and at the same time, the method of digital image processing is also given.
文摘Bio-sensor arrays for multi-channel recording have been developed recently and signal processing platforms for those signals have been studied actively. But it’s thereal situation which these technologies are generally developed and studied respectively. So the interface design between recording array and signal processing platform is also an important issue to make bio-sensor signal processing system. In this paper,we proposed interface which has unique protocols to control sensor array and operate platform. There are two types of protocols in the interface. One is between sensor array and MCU in platform and the other is between MCU and board for wireless communication.Basically, each protocol has two kinds of modes(single, frame)and it can be extended if needed.
文摘Distribution feeders carry and supply power to industrial, commercial and residential loads from the point where sub-transmission(33 kV level)ends after stepping down to suitable voltages, such as 11 kV and further down to 400/230 V.In recent times, high impedance(Hi-Z)faults on distribution systems are creating unique challenges to utilities both from operational and safety perspectives. Most of these Hi-Z faults occur at dis-tribution voltages of 15 kV or below, with the problem being worse at lower voltages.Hi-Z fault detection technologies emerged and were developed and incorporated on embedded platforms, such as relays, reclosers and sensors, which protect and monitor distribution systems.Although these technologies can detect Hi-Z fault on feeders, most of them cannot identify the exact location of the fault.Specifically, there is no solution available in literature for detecting Hi-Z fault location on low voltage(LV)circuits like 3-phase 4-wire 400 V distribution network. In this paper,we introduce a novel and a unique algorithm to identify the location of Hi-Z faults using proposed smart metres IoT data-based distribution system load flow and digital twin model representation of the network.Furthermore,a case study on the standard 33 bus LV system clearly depicts the func-tionality of the proposed algorithm.

文摘Flexible piezoresistive sensors based on carbon nanomaterials have attracted significant attention with regard to their application to wearable electronics. The enhanced performance of these sensors is primarily due to the integration of microstructures and conductive coatings. In this study,a flexible sandwich-shaped piezoresistive pressure sensor is fabricated by adopting microstructured electrodes and a porous sensing layer of carbon nanocomposite. The microtextured electrodes are obtained from a template by three-dimensional printing using digital light processing(DLP),and the porous structure is obtained by scarification of an NaCl crystal template.Multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)and graphene nanoparticles(GNPs),composited with polydimethylsiloxane and silica(ESSIL 296),are used to fabricate the functional structures, including the upper and lower electrode layers and a sandwiched porous sensing layer. The sensor exhibits a rapid response and recovery speed(-80 ms),a high sensitivity(0.437 kPa^(−1))within a range of 0–1.08 kPa,and excellent stability. In addition, such sensors demonstrate potential applications for finger motion monitoring and information encryption.
