The effects of shape and magnetic field on the linear polarization factors are investigated. It is found that CdSe quantum spheres have negative polarization factors (xy-polarized emission)and quantum long rods with small radius have positive linear polarization factors (z-polarized emission). The z-direction is the direction of the c axis. Quantum long rods with large radius have negative linear polarization factors, due to the hexagonal crystal symmetry and the crystal field splitting energy. The linear polarization factors decrease and may change from a positive value to a negative value;i, e. ,the z-polarized emissions decrease relative to xy-polarized emissions as the magnetic field applied along the z direction increases.展开更多

Despite the recent availability of more effective and less toxic therapeutic options, in most parts of the world the standard treatment consists of a weekly injection of pegylated interferon α(IFN-α) together with a daily dose of ribavirin. HCV patients frequently present circulating non-organ-specific autoantibodies demonstrating a variety of staining patterns in the indirect immunofluorescence assay for antinuclear antibodies(ANA). Between 20% to 40% of HCV patients treated with IFN-α and ribavirin develop autoantibodies showing a peculiar ANA pattern characterized as rods and rings(RR) structures. The aim of this article is to review the recent reports regarding RR structures and anti-rods/rings(antiRR) autoantibody production by HCV patients after IFN-α/ribavirin treatment. Anti-RR autoantibodies first appear around the sixth month of treatment and reach a plateau around the twelfth month. After treatment completion, anti-RR titers decrease/disappear in half the patients and remain steady in the other half. Some studies have observed a higher frequency of anti-RR antibodies in relapsers, i.e., patients in which circulating virus reappears after initially successful therapy. The main target of anti-RR autoantibodies in HCV patients is inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase 2(IMPDH2), the rate-limiting enzyme involved in the guanosine triphosphate biosynthesis pathway. Ribavirin is a direct IMPDH2 inhibitor and is able to induce the formation of RR structures in vitro and in vivo. In conclusion, these observations led to the hypothesis that anti-RR autoantibody production is a human model of immunologic tolerance breakdown that allows us to explore the humoral autoimmune response from the beginning of the putative triggering event: exposure to ribavirin and interferon.展开更多

Nowadays, the traditional supervised learning methods heavily rely on the classification accuracy of the training samples. In order to reduce the errors of manual classification, an automatic clustering algorithm is proposed and applied to diagnose down-hole conditions of pumping systems. The spectral clustering (SC) is a new clustering algorithm, which is suitable for any data distribution. However, it is sensitive to initial cluster centers and scale parameters, and needs to predefine the cluster number. In order to overcome these shortcom- ings, we propose an automatic clustering algorithm, fast black hole-spectral clustering (FBH-SC). The FBH algo- rithm is used to replace the K-mean method in SC, and a CritC index function is used as the target function to automatically choose the best scale parameter and clus- tering number in the clustering process. Different simulation experiments were designed to define the relationship among scale parameter, clustering number, CritC index value, and clustering accuracy. Finally, an example is given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.展开更多

The results show that the jacketed rods produced typical“co-erosion” damage at all test velocities, except for the 93 W/1060 Al jacketed rod, which switched from an early “bi-erosion” damage to later “co-erosion” damage at a striking velocity of 936 m/s. However, the homogeneous 93 W rod always forms a large mushroom head during the penetration process. The damage mechanisms of these two types of jacketed rods differ for striking velocities of 0.9-2.0 km/s, but this difference gradually decreases with increased striking velocity. For velocities of 2.0-3.3 km/s, all three types of projectiles exhibit typical hydrodynamic penetration characteristics, and the damage mechanisms of the two types of jacketed rods are almost identical. For the same initial kinetic energy, the penetration performance of the jacketed rods is distinctly superior to that of the homogeneous 93 W rods.Compared with jacket density, jacket strength shows a more significant influence on the damage mechanism and penetration performance of the jacketed rod. Finally, an existing theoretical prediction model of the penetration depth of jacketed rods on semi-infinite targets in the co-erosion mode is modified. It transpires that-in terms of penetration depth-the modified theoretical model is in good agreement with the experimental and numerical observations for 93 W/TC4 and 93 W/1060 Al jacketed rods penetrating semi-infinite 4340 steel targets.展开更多

Qualitative analysis of three kinds of nonlinear equations are presented. It is shown that these equations have homoclinic or heteroclinic orbits on the phase plane, corresponding to solitary wave or shock wave solutions, respectively. Based on the principle of homogeneous balance, these equations are solved with the Jacobi elliptic function expansion method. Results show that existence of solitary wave solution and shock wave solution is possible under certain conditions. These conclusions are consistent with qualitative analysis.展开更多

It is shown that the critical load of compressible rod is always greater than the one of the Euler rod, and a subcritical pitchfork bifurcation, which cannot occur for the Euler rod, may occur for a compressible rod. A whole bifurcation diagram of compressible rods is as follows : when the original slenderness ratio of a compressible rod, $o is smaller than (1 + v/3 √3π/2,, the rod does not buckle; when So∈ [1+ v/3)3√3π/2 ,(1+v/5)5 5√5π/4),the rod may undergo a subcritical pitchfork bifurcation and a collapse may occur; when So ∈ [1+ v/5)5√5π/4 + ∞), the rod may undergo a supercritical pitchfork bifurcation. The deformation of cross section of rods causes a little shift of bifurcation points towards to the one corresponding to larger slenderness ratio.展开更多

文摘h-BN rods modified low-carbon alumina-carbon(Al_(2)O_(3)-C)refractories were prepared, and the effect of h-BN rod addition on the high-temperature properties was investigated and compared with commercial h-BN flake, carbon black, and carbon nanotubes additives. The results demonstrated that Al_(2)O_(3)-C refractories containing h-BN rods exhibited optimal high-temperature service performances, including 25%higher hot modulus of rupture,21.3%higher thermal shock strength residual ratio,20.9%lower in oxidation and 44.3%less in slag corrosion, compared to the counterpart specimens without additives. Moreover, benefiting from the synergistic enhancement of the rod-like h-BN and in-situ generated SiC whiskers, the high-temperature service performances of h-BN rods containing specimens outperformed counterpart specimens containing commercial h-BN flake, carbon black, and carbon nanotubes, respectively.

文摘The numerical simulation of the fluid flow and the flexible rod(s)interaction is more complicated and has lower efficiency due to the high computational cost.In this paper,a semi-resolved model coupling the computational fluid dynamics and the flexible rod dynamics is proposed using a two-way domain expansion method. The gov-erning equations of the flexible rod dynamics are discretized and solved by the finite element method, and the fluid flow is simulated by the finite volume method. The interaction between fluids and solid rods is modeled by introducing body force terms into the momentum equations.Referred to the traditional semi-resolved numerical model,an anisotropic Gaussian kernel function method is proposed to specify the interactive forces between flu-ids and solid bodies for non-circle rod cross-sections.A benchmark of the flow passing around a single flexible plate with a rectangular cross-section is used to validate the algorithm.Focused on the engineering applications,a test case of a finite patch of cylinders is implemented to validate the accuracy and efficiency of the coupled model.

文摘The bimetallic composite rods prepared by co-extrusion have good mechanical properties, but their compressive deformation behaviors have rarely been studied. This paper primarily investigates the compressive deformation behavior of the AZ31/Mg-Gd-Y composite rod, analyzes the differences between its compressive deformation behavior and that of AZ31,and systematically studies the compressive deformation mechanisms of various regions in the composite rod,as well as the texture evolution and{10-12}twin evolution during the compression process. The results reveal that the AZ31/Mg-Gd-Y composite rods exhibit excellent metallurgical bonding, with the interface remaining intact even under a 9%compressive strain. In the compression process,AZ31 initiates yielding earlier than the AZ31/Mg-Gd-Y composite rods, exhibiting a relatively lower yield strength, whereas both show comparable plasticity. The deformation behavior of the AZ31/Mg-Gd-Y composite rod is governed by a combination of basal a slip and{10-12}-1011 tension twinning during compression along the ED(extrusion direction). With increasing compressive strain, the number of{10-12}twins in the AZ31 region(A/G-AZ31)of the AZ31/Mg-Gd-Y composite rod increases significantly, leading to changes in grain orientation, whereas the Mg-Gd-Y region(A/G-Mg-Gd-Y)of the composite rod shows no significant change. In addition, the A/G-Mg-Gd-Y significantly inhibits the nucleation and growth of{10-12}twins in A/G-AZ31 during compression, and thus the texture hardening generated by{10-12}twins make the work hardening behavior of the AZ31/Mg-Gd-Y composite rods different from that of AZ31.
文摘To ensure the safe transportation of radioactive materials, numerous countries have established specific standards. For the transfer of fissile materials,it is imperative that the material within the packaging remains in a subcritical state during routine, normal, and accidental transport conditions. In the event of an accident, the rods within the storage tank may become rearranged, introducing uncertainty that must be accounted for to ensure that criticality analysis results are conservative.Historically, this uncertainty was addressed overly conservatively due to limited research on non-uniform arrangement scenarios, which proved unsuitable for criticality safety analysis of spent fuel packages. This paper introduced three distinct methods to non-uniformly rearrange fuel rods—Uniform Arrangement by Blocks,Layer-by-Layer Determination, and Birdcage Deformation—and meticulously evaluates the influences of rod rearrangement on the effective multiplication factor of neutrons,k eff, utilizing the Monte Carlo method.Ultimately, this study presents a holistic method capable of encompassing the entire spectrum of potential effects stemming from the rearrangement of fuel rods during rods mispositioning accident.By augmenting the safety margin, this approach proves to be adeptly suited for the criticality safety analysis of nuclear fuel transport containers.

文摘The contact deformation and buckling of elastic rods against rigid surfaces represent a prevalent phenomenon in applications such as oil drilling, arterial stents, and energy harvesting. This has attracted widespread attention from researchers. In this paper, the deformation and buckling behaviors of a circular arch subject to compression by a rigid plate are investigated with a planar elastic rod model that incorporates tension, shearing, and bending. In comparison with the existing models that solely consider the bending energy, the deflection curve, the internal force distribution, and the critical load of the present model show good agreement with the finite element results.Through the dimensional analysis and order-of-magnitude estimation,we examine the factors influencing the critical load. The study reveals that the semi-central angle of the arch has the most significant effect. The dimensionless geometric parameter describing arch slenderness becomes prominent when the semi-central angle is less than 30°,while Poisson's ratio and the cross-sectional shear correction factor exhibit negligible influence.Furthermore, the variation in the proportions of strain energy components during critical buckling is presented with respect to the semi-central angle and the geometric parameter, thereby delineating the applicable ranges of both the original model(OM)and the modified model(MM).
文摘The linear-polarization optical property of CdSe quantum rods is studied in the framework of effectivemass envelope function theory. The linear polarization factors decrease and may change from a positive value to a negative value;i, e. ,the z-polarized emissions decrease relative to xy-polarized emissions as the magnetic field applied along the z direction increases.

文摘Chronic inflammation associated with hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection can lead to disabling liver diseases with progression to liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. In conclusion, these observations led to the hypothesis that anti-RR autoantibody production is a human model of immunologic tolerance breakdown that allows us to explore the humoral autoimmune response from the beginning of the putative triggering event: exposure to ribavirin and interferon.

文摘Dynamometer cards are commonly used to analyze down-hole working conditions of pumping systems in actual oil production. Finally, an example is given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

文摘In this study, a combined experimental, numerical and theoretical investigation is conducted on the penetration of semi-infinite 4340 steel targets by a homogeneous 93 W rod and two types of jacketed rods with striking velocities of 0.9-3.3 km/s. It transpires that-in terms of penetration depth-the modified theoretical model is in good agreement with the experimental and numerical observations for 93 W/TC4 and 93 W/1060 Al jacketed rods penetrating semi-infinite 4340 steel targets.

文摘The existing design of the pumping systems mainly focuses on the approximate computational formulae and procedures, which are developed based on the analytic approaches of conventional oil/gas fields. The calculation of polished rod loads usually just concerns about the static and inertial loads. And the computation of gearbox torque generally uses empirical formulae and correction factors. The above modeling procedures,if applied to the coalbed methane(CBM)wells, can not give the desired accuracy of the system design and its pertinent analysis. In this paper, based on the kinematic and dynamic analysis of the pumping system, the kinematic relation of polished rod is analyzed, and the variation of the total loads of polished rod is developed with the limits of CBM well conditions along the string. The gearbox torque calculation model is established by combining the counterbalance effect with the calculated dynamometer cards and torque factors. The application characteristics of this model are demonstrated by the example of ZH002-4 well in Qinshui basin. The interpretations of results show that the cranks of beam units should rotate in a counter clockwise direction viewed with the wellhead to the right.Compared with oil?gas fields, the dynamic and friction to polished rod load ratios are relatively high and the computation of polished rod loads should involve the static and inertial loads,as well as vibration and friction loads. And the dynamic load ratio decreases rapidly during the production.Besides, the total deformation of the string is small in CBM wells. As for balanced operation, the gearbox torque load usually has two approximately equal peaks and the magnitudes of instantaneous torque are just within 50%of unbalanced gearbox loadings. The proposed research improves efficiency of the pumping system, loads the pumping unit more uniformly, and provides the reasonable basis for selecting the units.

文摘Structural deterioration in the roof in an underground mine can easily cause roof fall, and deterioration is difficult to detect. When drilling holes for roof bolts, there is a relationship between the vibration of the drill rod and the properties of the rock being drilled. This paper analyzes transverse, longitudinal, and torsional vibrations in the drill rod by using vibration theory.Characteristic indexes for three kinds of vibration are determined.Using the finite element analysis software ABAQUS,a model for drill rod vibration during the drilling of roof bolt holes was established based on the geological and mining conditions in the Guyuan Coal Mine, northern China. Results from the model determined that the transverse and the longitudinal vibration decrease as the rock hardness decreases. In descending order, sandstone, sandy mudstone, mudstone, and weak interbeds cause progressively less vibration when being drilled. The ranking for strata that cause decreasing torsional vibration is slightly different, being,in descending order, mudstone, sandstone, sandy mudstone, and weak interbeds. These results provide a theoretical basis for predicting dangerous roof conditions and the presence of weak interbeds to allow for adjusting bolt support schemes.

文摘Unsteady wake from upstream components of landing gear impinging on downstream components could be a strong noise source. The use of a plane jet is proposed to reduce this flow-induced noise.Tandem rods with different gap widths were utilized as the test body. Both acoustic and aerodynamic tests were conducted in order to validate this technique.Acoustic test results proved that overall noise emission from tandem rods could be lowered and tonal noise could be removed with use of the plane jet. However, when the plane jet was turned on,in some frequency range it could be the subsequent main contributor instead of tandem rods to total noise emission whilst in some frequency range rods could still be the main contributor. Moreover, aerodynamic tests fundamentally studied explanations for the noise reduction.Specifically, not only impinging speed to rods but speed and turbulence level to the top edge of the rear rod could be diminished by the upstream plane jet.Consequently, the vortex shedding induced by the rear rod was reduced, which was confirmed by the speed,Reynolds stress as well as the velocity fluctuation spectral measured in its wake. This study confirmed the potential use of a plane jet towards landing gear noise reduction.

文摘A highly precise and timely diagnosis technology can help effectively monitor and adjust the sucker rod production system(SRPS)used in oil wells to ensure a safe and efficient production. The current diagnosis method is pattern recognition of a dynamometer card(DC)based on feature extraction and perceptron. The premise of this method is that the training and target data have the same distribution. However, the training data are collected from a field SRPS with different system parameters designed to adapt to production conditions, which may significantly affect the diagnostic accuracy. To address this issue,in this study,an improved model of the sucker rod string(SRS)is derived by adding faultparameter dimensions, with which DCs under 16 working conditions could be generated.Subsequently an adaptive diagnosis method is proposed by taking simulated DCs generated near the working point of the target SRPS as training data.Meanwhile,to further improve the accuracy of the proposed method, the DC features are improved by relative normalization and using additional features of the DC position to increase the distance between different types of samples. The parameters of the perceptron are optimized to promote its discriminability. Finally, the accuracy and real-time performance of the proposed adaptive diagnosis method are validated using field data.

文摘On the basis of classical linear theory on longitudinal, torsional and flexural waves in thin elastic rods, and taking finite deformation and dispersive effects into consideration, three kinds of nonlinear evolution equations are derived. These conclusions are consistent with qualitative analysis.

文摘An improved whole model of beam pumping system was built. In the detail, for surface transmission system(STS), a new mathematical model was established considering the influence of some factors on the STS's torsional vibration, such as the time variation characteristic of equivalent stiffness of belt and equivalent rotational inertia of crank. For the sucker rod string(SRS), an improved mathematical model was built considering the influence of some parameters on the SRS's longitudinal vibration, such as the nonlinear friction of plunger, hydraulic loss of pump and clearance leakage. The dynamic response and system efficiency of whole system were analyzed. The results show that there is a jumping phenomenon in the amplitude frequency curve, and the system efficiency is sensitive to motor power, pump diameter, stroke number, ratio of gas and oil, and submergence depth. The simulation results have important significance for improving the efficiency of beam pumping system.

文摘The crucial effect of compressibility of rods on their instability is novelly demonstrated via singularity theory. The deformation of cross section of rods causes a little shift of bifurcation points towards to the one corresponding to larger slenderness ratio.
