Transportation is the lifeblood of a modern metropolis.Accessibility generally refers to the interconnection between nodes in a regional traffic network.The purpose of the paper is to obtain more realistic and accurate measures of travel speed and to study the road traffic accessibility potential in cities.This study proposes a method for analyzing road traffic accessibility potential which is based on the average travel speed to city centers in off-peak times and which ranks 80 cities around the world.Based on the Suomi National Polar-Orbiting Partnership satellite’s visible-infrared imaging radiometer suite(NPP-VIIRS)night-time light data,urban built-up areas and city centers were extracted.Further,with the aid of the Google Maps application programming interface(API)network crawling technique,travel times and travel distances for several optimal routes to city centers by car were obtained.Feasible proposals for improving road traffic accessibility and planning urban transportation in different cities are presented.The proposed method offers a new possibility of analyzing traffic accessibility using internet data and geo-spatial methods. 展开更多

It also discusses the limitations of road network evaluation theories based on road "V/C". In addition, it proposes a set of theoretical and technical methods for the real-time evaluation of traffic flows for entire road networks, and for solving key technical issues, such as real-time data collection and processing in areas with no blind zones, the spatial-temporal dynamic analysis of road network traffic, and the calibration of key performance index thresholds. It also provides new technical tools for the strategic transportation planning and real-time diagnosis of road traffic. A heuristic algorithm was utilized to identify a set of road construction schedules, while PARAMICS was adopted to estimate the total travel time in the network under each road construction scenario. To test the performance of proposed heuristics-simulation methodology, a numerical test was implemented. The overall results suggested that the proposed methodol- ogy could quickly find the optimum solution with good convergence. 展开更多

From the information of real time measurement of traffic flow speed (V) and time-headway (T) at the specific positions along the road, the value of Vβ is calculated and used for forecasting the flow. Discussed is how to use each Vβ to forecast the congestion. The CN system devoted to the management of road traffic flow is proposed. The idea may contribute not only to easing the traffic flow but also to optimizing it to get high efficient traffic flow. 展开更多

A Novel Network Screening Methodology for Rural Low-Volume Roads

Low-volume roads (LVRs) are an integral part of the rural transportation network providing access to remote rural areas and facilitating the movement of goods from farms to markets. These roads pose unique challenges for highway agencies including those related to safety management on the highway network. Specifically, traditional network screening methods using crash history can be effective in screening rural highways with higher traffic volumes and more frequent crashes. However, these traditional methods are often ineffective in screening LVR networks due to low traffic volumes and the sporadic nature of crash occurrence. Further, many of the LVRs are owned and operated by local agencies that may lack access to detailed crash, traffic and roadway data and the technical expertise within their staff. Therefore, there is a need for more efficient and practical network screening approaches to facilitate safety management programs on these roads. This study proposes one such approach which utilizes a heuristic scoring scheme in assessing the level of risk/safety for the purpose of network screening. The proposed scheme is developed based on the principles of US Highway Safety Manual (HSM) analysis procedures for rural highways and the fundamentals in safety science. The primary application of the proposed scheme is for ranking sites in network screening applications or for comparing multiple improvement alternatives at a specific site. The proposed approach does not require access to detailed databases, technical expertise, or exact information, making it an invaluable tool for small agencies and local governments (e.g. counties, townships, tribal governments, etc.). 展开更多

都市圈道路网络结构与功能韧性研究

为提高城市路网动态交通规划准确度,提出一种基于多源传感器数据融合的城市路网动态交通规划方法。首先,采用固定、移动传感器获取浮动车数据、路网结构和互联网路况等多源数据;然后采用基于LSTM的速度数据融合方法进行多源传感数据融合... 为提高城市路网动态交通规划准确度,提出一种基于多源传感器数据融合的城市路网动态交通规划方法。首先,采用固定、移动传感器获取浮动车数据、路网结构和互联网路况等多源数据;然后采用基于LSTM的速度数据融合方法进行多源传感数据融合;以多源数据融合结果为输入,采用PSO-RF短时交通状况预测模型同时预测多个路段交通状况,有效提取多路段间相互分流的特征信息;最后通过基于空间域分解的城市路网动态交通分配模型(DUE-DTA)对城市路网动态交通进行准确快速规划。实验证明,DUE-DTA模型规划路径配流满足DUE准则,其可取得较好的收敛性能,在收敛次数为28时,RG值仅为0.0027。交通流分配任务中,模型的拟合优度(R2)为0.9142,拟合精度较高,证明本模型可实现城市路网交通动态准确规划,满足公共交通管控的实际应用需求。 展开更多

为探讨场地效应在破坏性地震中对建筑损坏的影响,分析临街建筑倒塌对道路网格连通性的影响。首先,介绍由微动的水平与竖向分量频谱比(HVSR)计算场地易破坏程度(K值)的方法;通过收集世界范围内破坏性地震的K值和建筑物震害数据,构建强震... 为探讨场地效应在破坏性地震中对建筑损坏的影响,分析临街建筑倒塌对道路网格连通性的影响。首先,介绍由微动的水平与竖向分量频谱比(HVSR)计算场地易破坏程度(K值)的方法;通过收集世界范围内破坏性地震的K值和建筑物震害数据,构建强震后场地易破坏程度(K值)与建筑严重损坏概率的经验关系。其次,将建筑物严重损坏概率转化为道路堵塞概率,推导出K值与强震后道路网格连通性概率的关系,并构建一个包含四个城市抗震功能系统的贝叶斯网络模型,其中道路网格连通性概率作为先验信息。最后,计算单个节点和整个城市道路交通系统的韧性指数。以呼和浩特市赛罕区为例,对该区41条路段开展常时微动观测,由观测记录求出HVSR,计算出各场地的易破坏程度(K值),进而推导出道路堵塞概率;然后,利用贝叶斯网格计算出四个城市抗震功能系统及城市道路交通系统的抗震韧性指数。研究结果表明:救援系统的抗震韧性指数为51.8,聚集区间转运系统为38.6,表明这两个系统具有较高的抗震韧性;医疗救助系统的抗震韧性指数为24.7,物资运输系统为30.3,表明这两个系统的抗震能力相对较弱;城市道路交通系统的整体抗震韧性指数为7.69,表明该区域的整体抗震韧性有待加强。该方法在城市道路网格抗震韧性评估中至关重要,可为提升城市基础设施抗震韧性能力提供重要参考。 展开更多

城市路网关键节点与道路运行的畅通密切相关,现有城市路网关键节点判定多依赖路网静态数据和部分动态交通流数据,在实际应用方面具有一定的局限性。本文提出了一种基于熵权法—灰色关联度法的城市路网关键节点识别方法,首先,在指标选取... 城市路网关键节点与道路运行的畅通密切相关,现有城市路网关键节点判定多依赖路网静态数据和部分动态交通流数据,在实际应用方面具有一定的局限性。本文提出了一种基于熵权法—灰色关联度法的城市路网关键节点识别方法,首先,在指标选取上考虑静态路网结构和动态交通流数据相结合的评价指标;其次,在指标权重方面能应用模型实现自动判定,克服了在指标赋权的主观性以及选取指标时的不足和缺陷。基于熵权法—灰色关联度法能动态判定不同时刻的城市路网关键节点,根据各个交叉口的道路属性、交通运行特征等因素,确定综合关联度在0.50以上的节点为关键节点,具体按照重要程度划分为3个级别,其中最重要的一级节点关联度范围为(0.57,0.99]。最后通过实例分析证明,基于熵权法—灰色关联度法能动态识别城市路网关键节点,为关键节点实际应用提供了一种可行、有效的方法。 展开更多

With the great prosperity of national economy, there has been a dramatic rise of vehicles on city road, which makes increasing pressure of road transportation. Currently, many countries are confronting the severe situation of traffic jam in different degrees. Nevertheless, there are many triggers contributing to this congestion, one of which is the blocking of residential quarters towards vital traffic line. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to study whether the opening of residential quarters can improve the road capacity of the entire city and remit the traffic pressure. Our paper is based on graph theory, density theory and random utility theory. First of all, we demonstrate a mathematical model of road traffic. Secondly, we explore the influence of residential quarters opening on urban traffic, taking three factors into account listed as road traffic capacity, road network density and network average running time. On the basis of above contents, the impact analysis of vehicle traffic caused by pedestrians is added afterwards. Finally, our paper takes three different types of residential areas into account as an example to empirically analyze the tangible impact of the opening, and finally come to the benefit of the traffic system after the opening. 展开更多

Characterizing Peak-Time Traffic Jam Incidents in Kampala Using Exploratory Data Analysis

Traffic congestion is associated with increased environmental pollutions, as well as reduced socio-economic productivity due to significant delays in travel times. The consequences are worse in least developed countries where motorized road transport networks are often inefficiently managed in addition to being largely underdeveloped. Recent research on traffic congestion has mostly focused on infrastructural aspects of road networks, with little or no emphasis at all on motorists’ on-the-road behavior (MB). The current study thus aimed to bridge this knowledge gap by characterizing traffic jam incidents (TJI) observed over a period of 80 days in Uganda’s Capital City, Kampala. MB as well as road network infrastructural factors such as road blockage (RB), were captured for each of the observed TJI. A total of 483 peak-time TJI were recorded, and exploratory data analysis (EDA) subsequently performed on the TJI dataset. EDA involved Hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) and K-means clustering of the TJI dataset, as well as a detailed descriptive statistical analysis of both the entire dataset and the emerging TJI clusters. A highlight finding of this study is that 48.2% of the observed TJIs were as a result of on-the-road motorist behavior. Furthermore, the intervention of traffic police officers in a bid to regulate traffic flow was equally responsible for 25.9% of the TJIs observed in this study. Overall, these results indicate that whereas road infrastructural improvement is warranted in order to improve traffic flow, introducing interventions to address inappropriate on-the-road motorists’ behavior could alone improve traffic flow in Kampala, by over 48%. Additionally, in-order to effectively regulate traffic flow in Kampala and other least developed cities with similar traffic congestion management practices, motorists’ on-the-road behavior ought to be factored into any data-driven mechanisms deployed to regulate traffic flow and thus potentially significantly curbing traffic congestion. 展开更多

Aiming at the problem of lack of data model to analyze the level of transportation integration, the paper taking Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Group of China as the research object, based on the Gravity measurement model, transportation comprehensive distance model, weighted road density model, analysis of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Group accessibility and transportation integration level. A new method to measure the level of traffic integration is proposed and verified by the road network data and socio-economic data of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Group. The results show that: Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Group traffic accessibility was “point to surface” shape distribution, taking the core region of Changsha as the optimal, Xiangtan, Zhuzhou, Changsha County next, in remote Yanling County, Chaling county has the lowest accessibility;the correlation between traffic network connection degree and economic connection degree reached 0.871, indicating that the transportation integration level of urban agglomerations has a high degree of fit with the level of economic integration. The research results on the one hand for the Chang-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration traffic present situation to make an annotation;on the other hand, that provide a reference for further optimization of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration traffic planning. 展开更多

为研究城市内部路网的微循环组织优化,介绍一种基于关键边组合优化的双层规划模型。首先,利用已知数据重新定义路网服务水平;其次,引入最大增流关键边对路网内部支路进行扩容的同时用SMHD移动网格法确定待打通路段具体位置,利用VISSIM... 为研究城市内部路网的微循环组织优化,介绍一种基于关键边组合优化的双层规划模型。首先,利用已知数据重新定义路网服务水平;其次,引入最大增流关键边对路网内部支路进行扩容的同时用SMHD移动网格法确定待打通路段具体位置,利用VISSIM对路网中车辆进行仿真后得到支路扩容关键边和待打通路段最优组合;最后基于关键边的最优组合构建路网中以车辆平均运行速度、路网畅通性最优的上层规划模型和交通流均衡分配的下层规划模型,将路网进一步优化。经算例分析得:(1)与原有路网相比,对路网关键路段识别后再次优化的路网结构可使主路及支路车辆的平均运行速度分别提升20.43%和11.29%;(2)主路及支路原有E级服务水平提升到D级,主路及支路原有D级服务水平提升到C级;(3)优化后各级道路的畅通性得到大幅提升,车辆运行更加通畅。 展开更多

由于交通网络复杂的时空相关性和交通数据的非线性,给交通预测带来了很大的挑战.现有的方法主要关注路网的时空特征,分别对时间相关性和空间相关性进行建模来模拟时空依赖关系.随着城市道路网络的进一步扩大,导致模型对路网空间特征的... 由于交通网络复杂的时空相关性和交通数据的非线性,给交通预测带来了很大的挑战.现有的方法主要关注路网的时空特征,分别对时间相关性和空间相关性进行建模来模拟时空依赖关系.随着城市道路网络的进一步扩大,导致模型对路网空间特征的挖掘能力不足.此外,交通运行状态受到外部环境因素的干扰,交通流在路段传递效应的影响下会出现较大波动.为解决上述问题,提出深度时空混合图卷积模型,利用图卷积网络和图注意力网络的残差连接分别汇聚路网全局和局部信息,扩展图卷积的感受野范围,从而增强路网空间特征的提取能力.受Transformer在长序列预测上的启发,同时为减少计算复杂度,通过引入Informer模型来处理路网数据潜在的时间依赖性,实现对交通流参数的长期预测能力,并对城市天气和POI(医院,学校,商场)等外部因素进行编码来增强路网信息的属性.为验证所提出模型的性能,在真实数据集上开展实验,对模型进行准确性和可行性分析.实验结果表明,深度时空混合图卷积模型预测精度最高达到75.1%,较Transformer和Informer分别提升了2.5%和2.3%,在不同预测范围下都超过了其他基线模型,具有长期的交通预测能力. 展开更多

为缓解城市交通网络拥堵问题,提高网络可靠性,基于复杂网络理论对城市交通网络级联失效现象进行研究。首先,构建加权双层城市交通网络模型,并在非线性负载-容量模型中引入失效阈值的概念量化节点失效概率,在此基础上将节点分为正常、失... 为缓解城市交通网络拥堵问题,提高网络可靠性,基于复杂网络理论对城市交通网络级联失效现象进行研究。首先,构建加权双层城市交通网络模型,并在非线性负载-容量模型中引入失效阈值的概念量化节点失效概率,在此基础上将节点分为正常、失效和拥堵3种状态;其次,考虑到节点的时空相关性,提出了混合负载重分配策略,将失效负载分配到故障节点的相邻节点和次相邻节点;最后,以南京市某区域作为研究对象,从网络拓扑结构和节点运行质量两个角度来分析不同攻击方式和失效阈值对城市交通网络可靠性的影响。仿真结果表明:城市交通网络具有抵抗小规模节点和边失效的能力;攻击高重要性节点会加速城市交通网络崩溃,造成网络可靠性下降;在拥堵传播初期(t=40~65),增大失效阈值δ能够在一定程度上延缓级联失效扩散;当拥堵到达临界时间之后,更大的失效阈值(δ=1.6相较于δ=1.8)将引发更严重的级联失效现象。 展开更多

为了缓解交通微循环对居民生活与出行的负面影响,建立了一个以最小化道路连通性、非机动车出行时间、环境污染和道路饱和度为目标的双层规划模型。系统整合了主干道通行能力饱和度、慢行交通限速要求及道路网络分布密度等多项限制因素,... 为了缓解交通微循环对居民生活与出行的负面影响,建立了一个以最小化道路连通性、非机动车出行时间、环境污染和道路饱和度为目标的双层规划模型。系统整合了主干道通行能力饱和度、慢行交通限速要求及道路网络分布密度等多项限制因素,构建了区域交通流优化的双层规划框架,旨在提升主干道通行效率与路网平均行驶速度、减少迂回行驶耗时并降低环境负面影响;同时以社区内部支路畅通性作为约束条件,形成顶层优化模型,下层模型则基于用户均衡配流理论,结合TransCAD软件求解。以河北定州市中心城区为例,对所提优化方法进行实例分析。结果显示,路网的平均饱和度从0.66降低至0.59,缓解了交通拥堵问题,验证了所提方法的有效性,为交通微循环优化提供了参考。 展开更多
