This paper aims to examine the role of race and gender in sustaining the capitalist world system through the lens of decolonial studies. It considers how both categories were historically constructed during the colonial process as tools to legitimize social, economic, and political hierarchies between the dominant and the dominated. In particular, the division of labor, based on racial and gendered distinctions, was instrumental in shaping these power relations. By analyzing these categories as central elements in the formation and maintenance of the capitalist world system, the study highlights their continued influence in perpetuating inequalities today.展开更多

Areas of the planet that have the potential to house persons migrating to “safe havens” in their own or other countries will require the rapid construction of communities capable of supporting them, their families, businesses and farms. However, different political-economic conditions are found across the areas which can serve as locations for these Climate Change Haven Communities. We develop funding and construction strategies for the United States (free-market capitalism), France and Spain (European Union supported economies), and Taiwan region (state-directed economy). The proposals for the Taiwan region should also be applicable to the rest of China.展开更多

文摘Based on the current status of educational inequality between urban and rural areas in China, this study transcends the traditional resource-centered perspective to examine the latent roles of cultural and social capital in the distribution of educational opportunities. The research finds that institutional arrangements, family cultural accumulation, social networks, and digital literacy collectively constitute the latent structure of urban-rural educational inequality, determining the access to and conversion efficiency of educational opportunities.Cultural capital influences students’educational adaptability through cognitive abilities, learning habits, and the accumulation of educational resources, while social capital expands educational opportunities through information access and social support.Their interaction exacerbates urban-rural disparities. The study further suggests that achieving educational equity requires a multidimensional coordinated strategy encompassing institutional restructuring, cultural empowerment, social capital development, and digital empowerment, providing both theoretical guidance and practical pathways for policy formulation and educational practice.
文摘The rise of creative industries in this century has aroused strong interest in the concept“cultural capital”in academia.Cultural capital can be understood as various forms of cultural resources that achieve significant appreciation in existing economic, political, and cultural structures through active and rapid reproduction, thereby influencing changes in existing economic, political, and cultural structures, including production relations with capitalist characteristics. The capitalization of culture negates the original ecological value of culture, denies human needs for culture, undermines the true value of cultural exchange and creation, and can easily lead to the formation of cultural hegemony. However, the process of cultural capitalization and the changes in cultural values within it indicate that the capitalization of culture is to some extent an inevitable historical development. The new cultural capital has demonstrated tremendous power in promoting the development of contemporary creative industries and producing cultural masterpieces.Of course, this first requires it to refuse to become a tool for economic capital and digital technology.

文摘In the era of digital capitalism with the explosion of data and information, human society will be greatly affected by digital capital, and all walks of life will be included in the chain of information-based labor production, giving rise to a new type of labor form called“digital labor”.This paper discusses the alienation of digital labor in the context of digital capitalism, take Marx’s theory of alienated labor as the perspective, and analyze the fourfold alienation of digital labor in terms of producing products, labor process,self-realization of laborers, and social relations by combing the historical development of digital labor.Based on the above analysis, the article proposes the logical and practical paths to crack the alienation of digital labor:improve media literacy and thinking discernment, make full use of the positive effects of digital technology, and strengthen the governance of digital platforms,in order to build a fairer and more shared digital labor environment, and to realize the self-emancipation of laborers and the healthy development of the digital economy.
文摘We examine possible funding sources for constructing Climate Change Haven Communities on a global basis. The proposals for the Taiwan region should also be applicable to the rest of China.

文摘Slipped capital femoral epiphysis(SCFE)is a hip disorder that predominantly affects adolescents. The primary pathological change involves the displacement of the femoral head epiphysis from its normal position at the growth plate toward the metaphysis of the femoral neck. This condition can result in hip pain, abnormal gait, and even avascular necrosis of the femoral head, significantly impacting the quality of life in adolescents.Currently, the exact etiology of SCFE remains unclear;however, evidence suggests that risk factors include endocrine disorders, metabolic conditions, and genetic diseases.Endocrine disorders encompass hypothyroidism, growth hormone abnormalities, hypogonadism, and obesity-related hormonal imbalances.Metabolic conditions involve obesity, vitamin D deficiency or rickets, and renal osteodystrophy.Genetic diseases include mutations in the COL2A1 gene, aromatase deficiency, and Prader-Willi syndrome. This review summarizes various medical conditions associated with SCFE and elucidates potential molecular mechanisms from abnormal chondrocyte function in the growth plate, hormonal imbalances and inflammatory/metabolic factors in SCFE based on relevant literature, aim to provide evidence for the prevention and treatment of SCFE.
文摘Strong provincial capital is an important initiative for underdeveloped regions to realize rapid regional economic development through leading by point, which is related to the overall situation of China's economic high-quality development. This paper theoretically analyzes the internal mechanism of strong provincial capitals affecting regional innovation efficiency. The study finds that the policy of strong provincial capitals promotes the formation of the resource aggregation effect in the capital cities, attracts talents, technologies, policies, and capital and other factors, improves the efficiency and quality of innovation, and drives the development of neighboring regions.However,over-implementation of the policy will lead to a large number of big enterprises,"which will lead to rent-seeking,waste of resources, crowding out of government subsidies and congestion effects, inhibit innovation, and lead to the loss of innovation factors in peripheral cities, dragging down the innovation level of the whole province. Therefore, the relationship between strong provincial capitals and innovation is an inverted"U"shape, and this study is of great significance for understanding the double-edged sword effect of strong provincial capitals and formulating scientific regional innovation policies.
文摘Efficient working capital management(WCM)creates value for both management and shareholders by enhancing cash flows and reducing investment in receivables and inventory. It supports liquidity and minimizes financial distress risks, aligning with the goal of shareholder value maximization. However, traditional manual approaches to WCM are no longer sufficient due to the rapid and complex changes in economic and business environments. As a result, firms increasingly rely on artificial intelligence(AI)in WCM.AI offers advanced capabilities in prediction, monitoring, and problem-solving by processing vast data, identifying variable relationships, and adapting to change faster than human cognition. This paper explores the fundamentals of WCM and AI,their interconnections, and the strategic opportunities AI introduces to optimize WCM in modern enterprises.
