BACKGROUND Return to work(RTW)and resumption of driving(ROD)are critical factors that influence postoperative quality of life in patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty(THA).However,few studies have focused on the minimally invasive(MIS)approach and its effect on these outcomes.AIM To investigate RTW and ROD's timelines and influencing factors following anterior MIS-THA.METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on 124 patients who underwent anterior MIS-THA.Data on the demographics,occupational physical demands,and RTW/ROD timelines were also collected.Clinical outcomes were measured using standardised scoring systems.Statistical analyses were performed to evaluate the differences between the groups based on employment status and physical workload.RESULTS Among employed patients,the RTW rate was 94.7%,with an average return time of five weeks.The average ROD time was 3.5 weeks across all patients.Despite similar postoperative clinical scores,RTW time was significantly influenced by occupations'physical workload,with heavier physical demands associated with delayed RTW.CONCLUSION Anterior MIS-THA facilitates early RTW and ROD,particularly in occupations with lower physical demands.These findings highlight the importance of considering occupational and physical workload in postoperative care planning to optimize recovery outcomes. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Patients with early oral intake after intestinal surgery achieve better nutritional status and fewer postoperative complications.However,no guidelines or expert consensus have established the optimal timing for diet resumption following colorectal polypectomy.AIM To determine the timing,feasibility,and clinical benefits of early diet resumption following colorectal polypectomy.METHODS In the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine,a total of 1502 patients with polyps under 3 cm were recruited and randomly assigned to an experimental group(n=751)and a control group(n=751).Following polypectomy,the experimental group consumed rice soup at 2 hours,while the control group received rice soup at 6 hours.The study focused on delayed post-polypectomy bleeding(DPPB),with secondary evaluation of postpolypectomy perforation,hypoglycemia,fever,and length of stay(LOS).RESULTS The comparison between the two groups revealed no significant differences in DPPB rates(4.7%vs 5.5%,P=0.480)and major bleeding rates(1.5%vs 2.1%,P=0.332).Both groups displayed median bleeding times of 2 days.No notable differences in perforation(0.0%vs 0.3%,P=0.479)and fever rates(2.1%vs 2.9%,P=0.324)were observed between the two groups.However,the experimental group showed significantly lower incidence of hypoglycemia(0.4%vs 1.5%,P<0.05)and shorter LOS[1(1,2)day vs 2(1,2)days,P<0.001]following polypectomy.Subgroup analyses further confirmed that early diet resumption had no adverse effects on patients,irrespective of polyp count,size,pathology,or polypectomy modalities.CONCLUSION Early diet resumption following colorectal polypectomy for polyps not exceeding 3 cm is advisable as it does not significantly increase the risk of complications. 展开更多

Introduction: Sexuality in the postpartum period is a taboo subject that raises many questions, especially among women. Introduction: Sexuality in the postpartum period is a taboo subject that raises many questions, especially among women. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of factors such as mode of delivery, parity, type of household and level of education on the resumption of sexuality, by comparing our results with those in the literature. Methods: This is a prospective descriptive and analytical study, which took place from 3 April to 2 June 2023 in the maternity ward of the Ignace Deen National Hospital of the University Hospital Centre of Conakry. The sample included married women who had given birth once or several times. Results: Of 118 married women who had given birth once or several times and who were questioned about their sexuality in the postpartum period, 75.42% (89 cases) stated that they had resumed sexual activity in the postpartum period. (The majority were aged 20 - 29 years (46.61%), pauci pares (51.69%), living in a monogamous household (88.14%), with secondary education (44.92%) and self-employed (38.98%). More than half (58.47%) of these women had a normal vaginal delivery with vulvo-perineal tear (5.80%), episiotomy (15.94%) and instrumental extraction (8.69%). The main reasons for resuming sexual activity were the desire to satisfy their partner (50.56%) and to maintain the harmony of the couple (29.21%). Resumption of sexual activity was more common in patients who had given birth by caesarean section (p = 0.007) and in patients with a higher level of education (p = 0.03). However, it was not influenced by parity or household type. Conclusion: Sexuality remains a taboo subject, and its resurgence in the postpartum period is influenced by the mode of delivery and the level of education and perception of women. Certain practices and complications related to childbirth can also influence the resumption of sexuality in the postpartum period. 展开更多

The Transport Layer Security(TLS) protocol is the most important standard on the Internet for key exchange. TLS standard supports many additional handshake modes such as resumption and renegotiation besides the full handshake. The interaction and dependence of different modes may lead to some practical attacks on TLS. In 2014, Bhargavan et al. described a triple handshake attack on TLS 1.2 by exploiting the sequential running of three different modes of TLS, which can lead to a client impersonation attack after the third handshake. Subsequently, TLS 1.2 was patched with the extended master secret extension of RFC 7627 to prevent this attack. In this paper we introduce a new definition of "uniqueness" and present a renegotiable & resumable ACCE security model. We identify the triple handshake attack within the new model, and furthermore show TLS with the proposed fix can be proven secure in our model. 展开更多

Puncture is a common operation in surgery,which involves all kinds of tissue materials with different geometry and mechanical properties.As a new cross-disciplinary research area,Virtual Surgery(VS)makes simulation of soft tissue in puncture operation possible in virtual environment.In this paper,we introduce a VS-based puncture system composed by three-layer soft tissue,simulated with spherical harmonic function(SHF),which is covered with a force mesh,constructed by mass spring model(MSM).The two models are combined together with a parameter of SHF named surface radius,which provides MSM with real-time deformation data needed in force calculation.Meanwhile,force calculation,divided into the surface spring force and the puncture damping force,makes the force presentation better accord to the corresponding tissue characteristics.Moreover,a deformation resumption algorithm is leveraged to simulate the resumption phenomenon of the broken tissue surface.In evaluation experiment,several residents are invited to grades our model along with other four mainstream soft tissue models in terms of 7 different indicators.After the evaluation,the scores are analyzed by a comprehensive weighted grading method.Experiment results show that the proposed model has better performance during puncture operation than other models,and can well simulate surface resumption phenomenon when tissue surface is broken. 展开更多

Mitochondrial Rho-GTPase 1(MIRO1)is an outer mitochondrial membrane protein which regulates mitochondrial transport and mitophagy in mitosis.In present study,we reported the crucial roles of MIRO1 in mammalian oocyte meiosis and its potential relationship with aging.We found that MIRO1 expressed in mouse and porcine oocytes,and its expression decreased in aged mice.MIRO1 deficiency caused the failure of meiotic resumption and polar body extrusion in both mouse and porcine oocytes,which could be rescued by exogenous MIRO1 supplementation.Mass spectrometry data indicated that MIRO1 associated with several cytoskeleton and cell cycle-related proteins,and MIRO1 regulated motor protein Dynein for microtubule-organizing centers(MTOCs)dynamics at germinal vesicle(GV)stage,which determined meiotic resumption.Furthermore,we found that MIRO1 regulated Aurora A and kinesin family member 11(KIF11)for meiotic spindle assembly in oocytes.Besides,MIRO1 associated with several mitochondria-related proteins dynamic-related protein 1(DRP1),Parkin and lysosomal-associated membrane protein 2(LAMP2)for mitochondrial dynamics and mitophagy during oocyte meiosis.Taken together,our results suggested that MIRO1 played pivotal roles in meiotic resumption,spindle assembly and mitochondrial function in mouse and porcine oocytes,and its insufficiency might contribute to the oocyte maturation defects during aging. 展开更多

DHX36 plays a crucial role in regulating transcriptional and post-transcriptional processes through its interaction with G-quadruplexes(G4s).The mechanisms by which DHX36 regulates G4s vary across different cell types and physiological conditions.Oocyte-specific conditional knockout(CKO)mice were utilized to study the impact of DHX36 deficiency on female fertility.The results show that the CKO mice exhibit severely impaired hormone response,ovulation,and complete infertility.The CKO germinal vesicle(GV)oocytes display large nucleoli,aberrant chromatin configuration,decreased chromatin accessibility,disturbed transcriptome,and inhibited meiosis progression.Following fertilization,the embryos derived from the CKO oocytes arrest at the zygote or 2-cell stage.Notably,we observed inadequate rRNA transcription in growing GV oocytes,as well as insufficient pre-rRNA processing and translation activity in fully-grown GV oocytes.Using a G4 probe and antibody,we found increased G4s formation at the chromatin and cytoplasm of CKO GV oocytes;these G4s mainly originate from the rDNA and pre-rRNA.Furthermore,the distribution of DHX36 was found to be spatiotemporally synchronized with that of pre-rRNA and G4s in early mouse embryos.In vitro experiments confirmed that DHX36 directly binds with pre-rRNA through the RHAU-specific motif(RSM).Overexpression of DHX36 could partially alleviate the pre-rRNA accumulation in fully-grown CKO oocytes.In conclusion,this study highlights the physiological significance of DHX36 in maintaining female fertility,underscoring its critical role in rRNA homeostasis and chromatin configuration through G4-unwinding mechanism in mouse oocytes. 展开更多

The impact of the COVID-19 prevention and economic interventions on express delivery industry:Evidence from China

As a fundamental logistics service,the express delivery(ED)industry provides production and consumption activities to maintain efficient supply chain operations.It plays an important role in promoting industrial development and maintaining daily life and consumption.This study examined the effects of COVID-19 on the ED industry using ED package delivery data from 31 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities)in China.Using a difference-in-differences method,the COVID-19 outbreak was found to have a positive effect and epidemic prevention and control(EPC)policies were found to have negative effects on the development of the ED industry.In addition to EPC policies,the Chinese government has implemented other short-term economic interventions(SEI),such as the resumption of work and production(RWP),policies to balance economic growth,and epidemic prevention.This study divided the pandemic period into three stages to analyze the different impacts of EPC and SEI policy changes on the ED industry.The RWP policies adopted during the pandemic positively impacted the volume and income of packages delivered to the ED industry.The conclusions of this study are significant for the ED industry in addressing public health emergencies and for the Chinese government to formulate EPC and SEI policies during epidemic periods. 展开更多

The resumption of production after the“suspension”caused by the COVID-19 has emerged as an urgent problem for many enterprises and the government.The resumption of production is actually a dynamic evolution problem from 0 to 1(100%).This paper constructs a general game model and a dynamic replication system for the resumption of production and government support,and gives theorems for the construction of the model.It analyzes the evolution mechanism and scenario conditions for the convergence of enterprise strategies to the“resumption of production”strategy,takes the resumption of production of hog farmers as an example to carry out a study on the regulation of countermeasures to resume hog production,and explores systemic countermeasures and suggestions for the rapid convergence of farmers’strategies to the“resumption of work and production”strategy.The study found that the production resuming behavior system dynamics evolution game regulation model provides a systematic model and method for the study of resumption countermeasures,a general regulation model for the resumption ratio from 0 to 1(100%),and a systematic idea,method and model for exploring the“precise strategy”system to promote the rapid resumption of production. 展开更多
