Laser wakefield accelerators(LWFAs)offer acceleration gradients up to 1000 times higher than those of conventional radio-frequency accelerators,offering a pathway to significantly more compact and cost-effective accelerator systems.This breakthrough opens up new possibilities for laboratory-scale light sources.All-optical inverse Compton scattering(AOCS)sources driven by LWFAs produce high-brightness,quasimonochromatic X rays with micrometer-scale source sizes,delivering the spatial coherence and resolution required for X-ray phase-contrast imaging(XPCI).These features position AOCS X-ray sources as promising tools for applications in biology,medicine,physics,and materials science.However,previous AOCS-based imaging studies have primarily focused on X-ray absorption imaging.In this work,we report successful experimental demonstrations of edge-enhanced in-line XPCI using energy-tunable,quasi-monochromatic AOCS X rays.With a spatial resolution of~20μm,our results clearly show the potential of high-resolution,AOCS-based XPCI applications. 展开更多

PEGylation,the controlled covalent conjugation of polyethylene glycol to therapeutics,enhances therapeutic efficacy through optimized pharmacokinetics.However,to date no high-molecular-weight PEGylated small-molecule prodrugs have received regulatory approval.This technological gap can be partially attributed to the exponential proliferation of metabolic intermediates resulting from multi-payload conjugation strategies,which introduces unprecedented analytical complexities in metabolite profiling and pharmacokinetic characterization.To address this challenge,we developed a liquid chromatography-triple-quadrupole/time-of-flight mass spectrometry platform for PEG20k-(irinotecan)3,a Phase III clinical candidate.Our methodology employs payload stoichiometry-based chromatographic resolution for clustering isomeric PEG species.Complementarily,diagnostic product ions at m/z 699.83,569.27,and 587.28 enable systematic differentiation between double-loaded,single-loaded,and released irinotecan payload.This approach successfully identifies eight metabolic clusters spanning from PEG-conjugates,cleaved PEG segments,and released small-molecule species.Its demonstrated capacity to deconvolute complex metabolic profiles—through payload-stoichiometry based chromatographic resolution coupled with diagnostic ion analysis—positions this workflow as an attractive tool for accelerating the development of PEGylated small-molecule therapeutics. 展开更多

The Chinese Giant Solar Telescope(CGST)low-dispersion spectrograph requires a large field-of-view(FOV)and high spatial resolution,which can be addressed by a carefully designed image slicer system.Our proposed design divides the rectangular 50″×20″FOV at the telescope focal plane into four 50″×5″subfields.Each subfield undergoes optical reconstruction using its independent collimator-camera system(F/36-F/25.79),achieving vertical alignment and focal reduction of subfields to form a pseudo-slit.Using tilt mirrors for scanning allows simultaneous acquisition of spectral data with both a large FOV and a high angular resolution of 0.05″.This resolves manufacturing challenges for an image slicer,avoiding the requirement for hundreds of elements,multi-angle configurations,and compact dimensions,and also provides effective technical support for engineering work on the CGST. 展开更多

The pseudo-two-dimensional(P2D)model plays an important role in exploring physicochemical mechanisms,predicting the state of health,and improving the fast charge capability for Li-ion batteries(LIBs).However,the fast charge leads to the lithium concentration gradient in the solid and electrolyte phases and the non-uniform electrochemical reaction at the solid/electrolyte interface.In order to decouple charge transfer reactions in LIBs under dynamic conditions,understanding the spatio-temporal resolution of the P2D model is urgently required.Till now,the study of this aspect is still insufficient.This work studies the spatio-temporal resolution for dynamic/static electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(DEIS/SEIS)on multiple scales.In detail,DEIS and SEIS with spatio-temporal resolutions are used to decouple charge transfer reactions in LIBs based on the numerical solution of the P2D model in the frequency domain.The calculated results indicate that decoupling solid diffusion requires a high spatial resolution along the r-direction in particles,decoupling electrolyte diffusion and interfacial transfer reaction requires a high spatial resolution along the x-direction,and decoupling charge transfer reactions in LIBs at an extremely low state of charge(SOC)requires an extremely high temporal resolution along the t-direction.Finally,the optimal range of spatio-temporal resolutions for DEIS/SEIS is derived,and the method to decouple charge transfer reactions with spatio-temporal resolutions is developed. 展开更多

Carbonyl compounds play a pivotal role in the formation of secondary pollutants such as O_(3) and SOA,signifi-cantly impacting air quality and human health.This study extended the observation period compared to previous research,providing a long-term perspective on carbonyl compound variations and their environmental implica-tions.Atmospheric observations were conducted at Beijing(BJ)and Xianghe(XH)during the summer and winter months of 2018,2019,and 2023 to study the sources and impacts of carbonyl compounds in typical urban areas and peri‑urban areas.Notably,concentrations in the summer of 2023 increased compared to 2018 and 2019.The predominant carbonyl compounds—formaldehyde,acetaldehyde,and acetone—accounted for over 60%of the total.The mean values of OFP in BJ ranged from 18.55 to 58.61μg/m3,lower than those in XH(29.82 to 65.48μg/m3),with formaldehyde and acetaldehyde contributing over 80%of the total.SOAP exhibited a similar pattern,with values in XH(69.21 to 508.55μg/m3)significantly exceeding those in BJ(34.47 to 159.78μg/m3).The PMF model highlighted vehicle exhaust,secondary pollution,and biomass combustion as major sources of carbonyl compounds,emphasizing differences in source contributions between the two regions.This study’s com-parative analysis over different years and locations provides new insights into the dynamic changes in carbonyl compounds and their environmental importance.These results not only reinforce the importance of carbonyl compounds regulation but also offer a valuable reference for evaluating and refining emission control strategies during this period. 展开更多

Integration of Landsat and MODIS Imagery for Mapping 30-m Cotton Cultivation Areas in Xinjiang,China from 2000 to 2020

Cotton is an important global cash crops that serve as the primary source of natural fiber for textiles.A thorough understand-ing of the long-term variations in cotton cultivation is vital for optimizing cotton cultivation management and promoting the sustainable development of the cotton industry.Xinjiang is the primary cotton-producing region in China.However,long-term data of cotton cultiv-ation areas with high spatial resolution are unavailable for Xinjiang,China.Therefore,this study aimed to identify and map an accurate 30-m cotton cultivation area dataset in Xinjiang from 2000 to 2020 by applying a Random Forest(RF)-based method that integrates Landsat and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)images,and validated the applicability and accuracy of dataset at a large spatial scale.Then,this study analyzed the spatiotemporal variations and influencing factors of cotton cultivation in the study period.The results showed that a high classification accuracy was achieved(overall accuracy>85%,F1>0.80),strongly agreeing with county-level agricultural statistical yearbook data(R2>0.72).Significant spatiotemporal variation in the cotton cultivation areas was found in Xinjiang,with a total increase of 1131.26 kha from 2000 to 2020.Notably,cotton cultivation area in southern Xinjiang expan-ded substantially,with that in Aksu increasing from 20.10%in 2000 to 28.17%in 2020,representing an expansion of 374.29 kha.In northern Xinjiang,the cotton areas in the Tacheng region also exhibited significant increased by almost ten percentage points in the same period.In contrast,cotton cultivation in eastern Xinjiang declined,decreasing from 2.22%in 2000 to merely 0.24%in 2020.Standard deviation ellipse analysis revealed a‘northeast-southwest’spatial distribution,with the centroid consistently located in Aksu and shifting 102.96 km over the 20-yr period.Pearson correlation analysis indicated that socioeconomic factors had a stronger influence on cotton cultivation than climatic factors,with effective irrigation area(r=0.963,P<0.05)and total agricultural machinery power(r=0.823)showing significant positive correlations,whereas climatic variables exhibiting weak associations(r<0.200).These results provide valuable scientific data for informed agricultural management,sustainable development,and policymaking. 展开更多

The accurate identification of microporosity is crucial for the characterization of hydrocarbon reservoir permeability and production.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)is among the limited number of methods available to directly observe the microscopic structure of the hydrocarbon reservoir rocks.Nevertheless,precise segmentation of microscopic pores at different depths in SEM images remains an unsolved challenge,known as the‘depth-related resolution loss'problem.Therefore,in this study,a 3D reconstruction technique for regions of interest(ROI)was developed for in-depth pixel analysis and differentiation among various depths of SEM images.The processed SEM images,together with the processing outcomes of this technique,were used as the input database to train a stochastic depth with multi-channel residual pathways(SdstMcrp)deep learning model programmed in Python to develop a tool for segmenting the microscopic pore spaces in SEM images obtained from the Beibuwan Basin.The more accurate segmentation helped to detect an average of 1.2 times more microporosity in SEM images,accounting for about 1.6 times more pixels and 1.2 times more pore surface area.Finally,the impact of the accurate segmentation on the calculation of permeability,a significant reservoir production property,was investigated using fractal geometry models and sensitivity analysis.The results showed that the obtained permeability values would vary by a factor of 6,which represents a considerable difference.These findings demonstrate that the proposed models can effectively identify features across a wide range of grayscale values in SEM images. 展开更多

The main scientific payload of Macao Science Satellite-1B is a solar soft X-ray detection unit.To obtain an accurate solar X-ray spectrum,we have designed low-noise,high-throughput electronics.Solar radiation is detected using a low-leakage silicon drift detector(SDD),which is cooled to-30℃.The SDD output is processed using two parallel shaping amplifiers with peaking times of 315 ns and 65 ns.The amplifiers are designed using two-pole multiple-feedback active low-pass filters optimized to achieve a Bessel response.The differential output of the shaping amplifier generates a bipolar signal.The phase of the differential stage is tuned to ensure zero crossing corresponding to the peak of the shaping amplifier.A high-speed switch is inserted between the shaping amplifier and the peak-hold capacitor,and the peak value is maintained by turning off the switch.Fast and slow peak-hold circuits share a common ADC via time-division multiplexing.Both peak values are sampled for space-background rejection.Traditional pile-up detection methods cannot distinguish pulses that overlap in a fast channel.In this study,the differential of the“fast shaping”is selected,enabling the distinction of events separated by as little as 65ns,which is crucial for solar flare detection.The energy resolution is measured to be 138 eV at 5.90 keV.The centroid drift is less than 3.6 eV between-5℃ and 20℃.Compared with other solar X-ray instruments,this study demonstrates improved energy resolution with a lower peaking time,indicating a higher solar flare detection capability. 展开更多

Due to the limitations of spatial bandwidth product and data transmission bandwidth,the field of view,resolution,and imaging speed constrain each other in an optical imaging system.Here,a fast-zoom and high-resolution sparse compound-eye camera(CEC)based on dual-end collaborative optimization is proposed,which provides a cost-effective way to break through the trade-off among the field of view,resolution,and imaging speed.In the optical end,a sparse CEC based on liquid lenses is designed,which can realize large-field-of-view imaging in real time,and fast zooming within 5 ms.In the computational end,a disturbed degradation model driven super-resolution network(DDMDSR-Net)is proposed to deal with complex image degradation issues in actual imaging situations,achieving high-robustness and high-fidelity resolution enhancement.Based on the proposed dual-end collaborative optimization framework,the angular resolution of the CEC can be enhanced from 71.6"to 26.0",which provides a solution to realize high-resolution imaging for array camera dispensing with high optical hardware complexity and data transmission bandwidth.Experiments verify the advantages of the CEC based on dual-end collaborative optimization in high-fidelity reconstruction of real scene images,kilometer-level long-distance detection,and dynamic imaging and precise recognition of targets of interest. 展开更多

BACKGROUND The gastric microbiome is closely associated with gastric cancer,and single-region 16S rRNA sequencing has limitations in analyzing its characteristics,necessitating the search for a better sequencing method.AIM To evaluate the effectiveness of multi-region 16S rRNA gene sequencing in studying the microbiome of gastric cancer tissues.METHODS Patients with gastric cancer(n=118)who underwent surgery at Liyang People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2024 were enrolled.Fifty-nine paraffinembedded and 59 fresh tissue samples were obtained.The ZymoBIOMICSTM microbial community standard and Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 were used as positive controls.Multi-region and single-region 16S rRNA gene sequencing were performed.Species identification,detection rates at varying microbial abundances,operational taxonomic unit(OTU)counts,and alpha diversity indices in gastric cancer tissues were compared between the two methods.RESULTS Multi-region 16S rRNA sequencing identified more species(eight species and eight genera)in the positive controls compared with single-region sequencing(one species and six genera).Detection rates at concentrations of 103,102,and 10 CFU/mg were significantly higher using multi-region sequencing(P<0.05).Multi-region sequencing also revealed significantly higher OTU counts and alpha diversity indices(Shannon,Simpson,and Chao1)in gastric cancer tissues(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Compared with single-region sequencing,multi-region 16S rRNA gene sequencing demonstrates superior species resolution and detection sensitivity,providing a more comprehensive profile of microbial diversity in gastric cancer tissues. 展开更多

Silicone rubber(SR)is a versatile material widely used across various advanced functional applications,such as soft actuators and robots,flexible electronics,and medical devices.However,most SR molding methods rely on traditional thermal processing or direct ink writing three-dimensional(3D)printing.These methods are not conducive to manufacturing complex structures and present challenges such as time inefficiency,poor accuracy,and the necessity of multiple steps,significantly limiting SR applications.In this study,we developed an SR-based ink suitable for vat photopolymerization 3D printing using a multi-thiol monomer.This ink enables the one-step fabrication of complex architectures with high printing resolution at the micrometer scale,providing excellent mechanical strength and superior chemical stability.Specifically,the optimized 3D printing SR-20 exhibits a tensile stress of 1.96 MPa,an elongation at break of 487.9%,and an elastic modulus of 225.4 kPa.Additionally,the 3D-printed SR samples can withstand various solvents(acetone,toluene,and tetrahydrofuran)and endure temperatures ranging from-50℃ to 180℃,demonstrating superior stability.As a emonstration of the application,we successfully fabricated a series of SR-based soft pneumatic actuators and grippers in a single step with this technology,allowing for free assembly for the first time.This ultraviolet-curable SR,with high printing resolution and exceptional stability performance,has significant potential to enhance the capabilities of 3D printing for applications in soft actuators,robotics,flexible electronics,and medical devices. 展开更多
