Two feeding programs based on milk replacer (MR) were tested: a once a day (OAD) MR (200 g/L) distribution vs. a standard twice a day (TAD) MR (125 g/L) distribution. All calves received water, wheat straw and a starter concentrate ad libitum. Four calves per group were slaughtered at weaning and rumen epithelium from the ventral sac was sampled for papillae (RP) density. Results showed that the FP had no effect on body weight of calves and total feed intake. From day 42 to day 56, ruminal pH was lower (P = 0.036) and ruminal oxydo-reducing potential was higher (P = 0.001) in OAD than TAD calves. Ruminal total volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentrations did not significantly differ between FP. From day 21 to day 63, butyrate ruminal concentration was significantly higher in OAD than TAD calves (5.17 vs 3.95 mmol/L). This probably explained the higher development of RP in calves fed once daily. Finally, the tested feeding system based on a once daily MR distribution affects the concentrate feeding pattern of calves.展开更多

Some physico-chemical properties (iodine, saponification, acid and peroxide values) and fatty acid composition (FAC) of modified samples were analyzed and compared with a reference cocoa butter (CB). Solid and liquid fractions for large amounts of unsaturated fatty acids (approx. 80%) and thereby lower iodine values (81 - 85 gI2/100g) than that of CB (37% and 34 gI2/100 g, respectively), are not suitable as CBR. Among all ratios of chemically and enzaymatically interesterified oil blends (20%, 25% and 30% of hydrogenated tea seed oil with 80%, 75% and 70% of tea seed oil/liquid fraction/solid fraction), the samples with ratio of 30:70 from both chemical and enzymatic interesterification had FAC and iodine value closer to that of CB. A comparision between chemically and enzymatically interesterified samples (CISs and EISs, respectively), in terms of solid fat content (SFC) indicated that although the SFC values in EIS were much lower than that of CB, but the thermal behavior of this sample is comprable to CB at 20℃- 30℃ (sharp melting point of CB).展开更多

Fifty Chinese Holstein bull calves with similar BW and age were randomly allocated to 5 groups(1 control and 4 treatments) of 10 calves in each group. Five types of milk replacers were designed to have the same level of energy and protein. The protein source for milk replacers of the control group was full milk protein(MP). The protein source of milk replacers of the 4 treatment groups was composed of MP and one vegetable protein(VP)(30 and 70% of total protein). The4 types of VP were soybean protein concentrate(SP), hydrolyzed wheat protein(WP), peanut protein concentrate(PP), and rice protein isolate(RP). Results of the experiment showed: 1) there was no significant difference on average daily gain(ADG) and feed:gain ratio(F:G) among the MP, SP and RP groups(P > 0.05), whereas the ADG and F:G of the WP and PP groups were significantly lower compared with the MP group(P < 0.05); 2) there was not a significant difference in withers height, body length and heart girth among treatment groups compared with the MP group(P > 0.05). Thereby the 4 VP milk replacers had no adverse effects on body size of calves; 3) all groups showed no significant difference in the serum contents of urea nitrogen, total protein, albumin, globulin, β-hydroxybutyrate, growth hormone, insulin-like growth factor-1, and the ratio of albumin to globulin(A:G)(P> 0.05). In conclusion, SP or RP(accounts for 70% of the total protein) as calf milk replacers could substitute MP, whereas wheat gluten and PP had a significant adverse effect on growth performance in this experiment.展开更多

文摘Background Dysregulation of lipid metabolism and its consequences on growth performance in young ruminants have attracted attention, especially in the context of alternative feeding strategies. This study aims to elucidate the effects of milk replacer(MR)feeding on growth, lipid metabolism, colonic epithelial gene expression, colonic microbiota composition and systemic metabolism in goat kids compared to breast milk(BM)feeding, addressing a critical knowledge gap in early life nutrition. Methods Ten female goat kids were divided into 2 groups:those fed breast milk(BM group)and those fed a milk replacer(MR group).Over a period of 28 d,body weight was monitored and blood and tissue samples were collected for biochemical, transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses.Profiling of the colonial microbiota was performed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing.Intestinal microbiota transplantation(IMT)experiments in gnotobiotic mice were per-formed to validate causality. Results MR-fed pups exhibited reduced daily body-weight gain due to impaired lipid metabolism as evidenced by lower serum and liver total cholesterol(TC)and non-esterified fatty acid(NEFA)concentrations.Transcriptomic analysis of the colonic epithelium revealed upregulated genes involved in negative regulation of lipid metabolism, concomitant with microbiota shifts characterized by a decrease in Firmicutes and an increase in Actinobacteria.Specifically, genera such as Bifidobacterium and Prevotella were enriched in the MR group, while Clostridium and Fae-calibacterium were depleted.Metabolomics analyses confirmed alterations in bile acid and fatty acid metabolic path-ways.IMT experiments in mice recapitulated the metabolic phenotype observed in MR-fed goats, confirming the role of the microbiota in modulating host lipid metabolism. Conclusions Milk replacer feeding in goat kids disrupts lipid metabolism and gut microbiota dynamics,result-ing in reduced growth rates and metabolic alterations. These findings highlight the importance of early nutritional intervention on metabolic programming and suggest that modulation of the gut microbiota may be a target for improving growth and metabolic health in ruminants. This study contributes to the understanding of nutritional management strategies in livestock and their impact on animal health and productivity.

文摘[Objective] In this study, the performance and blood biochemical indices in lamps fed on milk replacer were researched, the feasibility of early weaned in lamps was discussed. [Method] 37 of 10 days lambs of Suffolk(♂) x XiaoWeiHanYang( ♀ ) were randomly divided into group A, B, C, D for this experiment. [ Result] The results showed that the average daily gains of 10 - 15 days of age was not significantly different between group A and D ( P 〉 O. 05 ), the control were higher significandy than the group B,C (P 〈0.05). The average daily gains of 16 -25, 26 -35 days of age were not significantly different in group A, B, C, D. The daily weight gains of Group A, B, C in 45 - 55 days of age were higher significantly than the control (P〈0.05 ). Plasma urea nitrogen (PUN) of group B and C were higher than group A significantly (P〈0.05 ) ;Total protein ( TP), Plasma albumin (ALB) and Plasma total amino acid were no significant difference among the other 3 groups (P〉0.05 ). [Conclusion] So, the milk-replacers were available for early-weaned lamb.
文摘Sixteen Holstein calves were used to study the effects of two feeding programs (FP) on growth, intake, rumen development and ruminal metabolism from birth to weaning. Finally, the tested feeding system based on a once daily MR distribution affects the concentrate feeding pattern of calves.
文摘Production of cocoa butter replacer (CBR) from tea seed oil through common modification methods of oils (dry fractionation, partial hydrogenation, chemical and enzymatic interesterification) was evaluated. A comparision between chemically and enzymatically interesterified samples (CISs and EISs, respectively), in terms of solid fat content (SFC) indicated that although the SFC values in EIS were much lower than that of CB, but the thermal behavior of this sample is comprable to CB at 20℃- 30℃ (sharp melting point of CB).
文摘This study investigated the effects of protein sources for milk replacers on growth performance and serum biochemical indexes of suckling calves. In conclusion, SP or RP(accounts for 70% of the total protein) as calf milk replacers could substitute MP, whereas wheat gluten and PP had a significant adverse effect on growth performance in this experiment.

文摘Traumatic brain injury can be categorized into primary and secondary injuries.Secondary injuries are the main cause of disability following traumatic brain injury, which involves a complex multicellular cascade.Microglia play an important role in secondary injury and can be activated in response to traumatic brain injury. In this article,we review the origin and classification of microglia as well as the dynamic changes of microglia in traumatic brain injury. We also clarify the microglial polarization pathways and the therapeutic drugs targeting activated microglia. We found that regulating the signaling pathways involved in pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory microglia, such as the Toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor-kappa B,mitogen-activated protein kinase,Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription, phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B,Notch, and high mobility group box 1 pathways, can alleviate the inflammatory response triggered by microglia in traumatic brain injury, thereby exerting neuroprotective effects. We also reviewed the strategies developed on the basis of these pathways, such as drug and cell replacement therapies.Drugs that modulate inflammatory factors, such as rosuvastatin, have been shown to promote the polarization of antiinflammatory microglia and reduce the inflammatory response caused by traumatic brain injury.Mesenchymal stem cells possess anti-inflammatory properties, and clinical studies have confirmed their significant efficacy and safety in patients with traumatic brain injury.Additionally, advancements in mesenchymal stem cell-delivery methods—such as combinations of novel biomaterials, genetic engineering, and mesenchymal stem cell exosome therapy—have greatly enhanced the efficiency and therapeutic effects of mesenchymal stem cells in animal models. However, numerous challenges in the application of drug and mesenchymal stem cell treatment strategies remain to be addressed. In the future, new technologies, such as single-cell RNA sequencing and transcriptome analysis, can facilitate further experimental studies. Moreover, research involving non-human primates can help translate these treatment strategies to clinical practice.

文摘The single-atom replacement strategy is a typical approach which just converts elements in lead compounds into their analogues with very small chemical changes. In this research,we implemented this strategy to modify the sulfonamide scaffold identified in our previous work, and resulting in the synthesis of 40 novel sulfonamide derivatives not previously reported in the literature. The insecticidal activities of these compounds against the Mythimna separata and Plutella xylostella were assessed. Our findings indicate that the pyridine sulfonamide structure significantly enhances insecticidal efficacy.Specifically, compound 7c exhibited LC 50 values of 0.157 and 0.256 mg/mL against the M.separata and P.xylostella, which significantly increased 97-and 41-fold compared to celangulin V,respectively. The experimental results revealed that pyridine sulfonamide analogues could serve as potential green insecticides.

文摘BACKGROUND:This study is to evaluate clearance eff ects of hemoperfusion(HP),continuous renal replacement therapy(CRRT),and plasma exchange(PE)for chlorfenapyr and its metabolite tralopyril in patients with acute poisoning.METHODS:This retrospective study included 18 patients with acute oral chlorfenapyr poisoning treated at our department between January 2022 and January 2024.All patients received conventional therapies combined with blood purification, including HP,CRRT,and PE.HP was performed three sessions within the fi rst 24 h,followed by CRRT and PE.Serial blood samples were collected to measure plasma concentrations of chlorfenapyr and tralopyril using gas chromatography/liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC/LC-MS).The toxin-clearance eff ects were assessed using a linear mixed-eff ects(LME)model.RESULTS:The hourly decline rate of the plasma chlorfenapyr concentration(median[IQR])was 8.83%(1.79%)for HP,4.12%(1.26%)for CRRT,and 6.85%(1.44%)for PE.LME analysis showed higher decline rate in the plasma concentration with HP(β=5.00;P<0.001)and PE(β=2.15;P=0.003)compared to CRRT.For tralopyril, the hourly decline rates were 3.04%(0.62%)for HP,1.82%(0.48%)for CRRT,and 3.01%(0.37%)for PE.LME analysis showed that the clearance effects of HP(β=0.027;P<0.001)and PE(β=0.022;P=0.001)were superior to CRRT.Pre-treatment toxin levels and the interval from hospital admission to blood purifi cation showed no signifi cant interaction with clearance outcomes.CONCLUSION:In our study,HP was associated with a higher decline rate in plasma chlorfenapyr concentration compared to CRRT and PE,supporting HP as a preferred early intervention. However, all three methods showed limited effi cacy in reducing tralopyril levels.Further research into the toxicokinetics and mechanisms of chlorfenapyr is warranted to optimize purifi cation strategies.

文摘The large-scale deployment of Internet of Things(IoT)technology across various aspects of daily life has significantly propelled the intelligent development of society.Among them, the integration of IoT and named data networks(NDNs)reduces network complexity and provides practical directions for content-oriented network design. However, ensuring data integrity in NDN-IoT applications remains a challenging issue.Very recently,Wang et al.(Entropy,27(5),471(2025))designed a certificateless aggregate signature(CLAS)scheme for NDN-IoT environments.Wang et al.stated that their construction was provably secure under various types of security attacks.Using theoretical analysis methods,in this work,we reveal that their CLAS design fails to meet unforgeability,a core security requirement for CLAS schemes. In particular,we demonstrate that their scheme is vulnerable to amalicious public-key replacement attack, enabling an adversary to produce authentic signatures for arbitrary fraudulent messages. Therefore,Wang et al.’s design cannot achieve its goal.To address the issue,we systematically examine the root causes behind the vulnerability and propose a security-enhanced CLAS construction for NDN-IoT environments. We prove the security ofour improveddesignunder the standard security assumptionandalsoanalyze its practicalperformanceby comparing the computational and communication costs with several related works. The comparison results show the practicality of our design.

文摘The leaching mechanism of gallium(Ga)and germanium(Ge)from zinc powder replacement residue(ZPRR)was investigated through ultrasonic-assisted sulfuric acid leaching.Characterization via XRD,SEM,XPS,and FT-IR revealed that ultrasonic treatment promotes the dehydration of H_(4)SiO_(4)colloids,thereby reducing their adsorption capacities for Ga and Ge complexes.Additionally, ultrasound enhances the dissolution of CaS in H_(2)SO_(4),increasing H_(2)S production, which aids in the reduction of Fe^(3+)and mitigates iron precipitate formation.Process parameters including ultrasonic power(0-450 W),temperature(100-120℃),and leaching time(30-120 min)were systematically optimized, achieving optimal leaching efficiencies of Ga and Ge at 95.7%and 94.5%,respectively.

文摘To promote the application of green recycled construction materials in civil engineering, this study presents a statistical damage constitutive model for polypropylene fiber recycled fine aggregate concrete(PRFAC),based on the strain equivalence principle and the assumption that microelement strength follows a Weibull statistical distribution. The proposed model incorporates the Drucker-Prager failure criterion.By examining the influence of Weibull distribution parameters m and S_(0)on the stress-strain response, empirical relationships were established between the fine aggregate replacement ratio and the distribution parameters. This enabled the derivation of a theoretical stress-strain curve accounting for variable recycled fine aggragate(RFA)replacement ratios. The experimental results show that the proposed model exhibits high agreement with measured data and effectively captures the increased brittleness of PRFAC with higher RFA replacement ratios. Moreover, increasing the replacement rate accelerates internal crack propagation, reduces deformability and toughness, and significantly hastens the accumulation of internal damage in PRFAC.

文摘Retinal ganglion cells are the bridging neurons between the eye and the central nervous system, transmitting visual signals to the brain. The injury and loss of retinal ganglion cells are the primary pathological changes in several retinal degenerative diseases, including glaucoma, ischemic optic neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and optic neuritis. In mammals, injured retinal ganglion cells lack regenerative capacity and undergo apoptotic cell death within a few days of injury.Additionally, these cells exhibit limited regenerative ability, ultimately contributing to vision impairment and potentially leading to blindness.Currently, the only effective clinical treatment for glaucoma is to prevent vision loss by lowering intraocular pressure through medications or surgery;however, this approach cannot halt the effect of retinal ganglion cell loss on visual function. This review comprehensively investigates the mechanisms underlying retinal ganglion cell degeneration in retinal degenerative diseases and further explores the current status and potential of cell replacement therapy for regenerating retinal ganglion cells. As our understanding of the complex processes involved in retinal ganglion cell degeneration deepens,we can explore new treatment strategies, such as cell transplantation, which may offer more effective ways to mitigate the effect of retinal degenerative diseases on vision.

文摘The milk replacer feeding regime in dairy calves has a great impact on metabolic and immunological functioning and affects animal welfare and lifetime performance. The feeding regime influences the rumen microbial composition, and epithelium-associated microbes may interact with the immune system of the host.We examined the correlations between blood leukocyte counts and the rumen epithelium-associated microbiome in dairy calves fed 2 different milk replacer feeding intensities and if these factors related to metabolic traits.Fourteen newborn female dairy calves were allocated to a group receiving either 10%(n=7)or 20%(n=7)milk replacer of their body weight(on average 41 kg)and provided ad libitum access to grass hay and concentrate pellets. At 3 weeks of life, all calves were fitted with a rumen cannula.Calves were weaned at 12 weeks of life and received a total mixed ration for ad libitum intake.Pre-(8-10 weeks of life)and post-weaning(21-23 weeks of life),methane production was measured in respiration chambers, and rumen epithelium and blood were sampled for 16S rRNA sequencing and leukocyte analyses,respectively.Pre-weaning,the reduced milk replacer feeding intensity was accompanied with higher concentrate intake but lower growth performance(P<0.001),a higher abundance of amylolytic and lower abundance of cellulolytic epimural microbes. The group fed a low milk replacer intensity had also greater portions of monocytes(P=0.031),CD8^(+)(P<0.001),and CD14^(+)(P=0.044)leukocytes,suggesting elevated inflammatory conditions.Correlations between CD8^(+) T cells and rumen methanogens,Ruminococcaceae, and Lachnospiraceae were recorded, but these were not consistent throughout maturation.Post-weaning,differences in feed intake and rumen microbial composition converged among milk replacer groups, while differences in growth performance(P=0.040)and CD8^(+) cells(P<0.001)were still present. In conclusion,a reduced milk replacer feeding intensity in dairy calves compromised growth performance and immunity and this effect persisted in the long-term.Significant correlations between the proportion of leukocytes and distinct epimural microbe taxa indicated an interplay between rumen epimural colonization and immune functioning of the host. However, further research is required addressing this interplay between rumen epimural microbes and immune functioning in dairy calves.

文摘Fats,as one of the three major nutrients, not only provide energy for the human body but also have a significant impact on the texture and sensory properties of foods. However, excessive fat intake is closely related to the risk of obesity and cardiovascular disease. As people’s pursuit of health and wellness gradually increases, people are beginning to favor reduced-fat products. Therefore,it is particularly important to develop fat replacers for use in the production of reduced-fat foods.Starch-based materials exhibit ideal performance in terms of replacing fats.In this review,we introduce the research on the use of starches;modified starches;and starch derivatives, including dextrin, maltodextrin, and cyclodextrin,as fat replacers. In addition,we also reviewed the application of new types of starch-based structured design, such as emulsion gels, oleogels, and bigels,in the replacement of plastic fats.Starch-based fat replacers can simulate the rheological properties and texture of fats and effectively replace partial fats without reducing foods’sensory properties. Moreover, structured starch gels can transform liquid oil into solid plastic fats, which are healthier and safer than industrial hydrogenated oils.Therefore,starch-based fat replacers have enormous development potential for use in the production of reduced-fat foods.
文摘Testosterone affects several organs in the body and is very important for male well-being.Aging men with late-onset hypogonadism(LOH)experience physiologic, psychiatric, and sexual symptoms related to a decline in the serum concentration of testosterone with age. However,it is well-known that the extent of the decline in testosterone concentration does not correlate with the severity of LOH-related symptoms. Therefore,it is difficult to diagnose and treat patients with LOH.In addition, the symptoms, response to testosterone replacement therapy(TRT),and medical insurance coverage differ among ethnicities and countries. The evaluation of testosterone is essential for the diagnosis and treatment of LOH.The effects of testosterone are determined not only by the serum testosterone concentration but also by the androgen receptor sensitivity.A low number of glutamine repeats is indicative of high androgenic activity, and the number shows ethnicity-related differences(fewer in African American than in Caucasian people and more in East Asian people). The diagnosis of LOH is typically made using subjective symptoms and the serum testosterone concentration. The Aging Male Symptoms scale is widely used to evaluate the symptoms. The normal range of total testosterone concentration varies around the world;therefore, clinicians should follow the guidelines of their regional academic society. The principal treatment for LOH is TRT.There are many types of TRT and other treatment strategies are also available. Thus, physicians should treat LOH according to each patient’s situation, considering related disorders, such as diabetes, osteoporosis, metabolic syndrome, and depression.
文摘BACKGROUND The management of severe symptomatic aortic stenosis has been revolutionized by transcatheter aortic valve replacement(TAVR),offering a minimally invasive alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement(SAVR).However, the compara-tive safety and efficacy of these interventions remain subjects of ongoing investigation.AIM To compare the clinical outcomes and safety of TAVR vs SAVR in patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis.METHODS A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted according to PRISMA guidelines.Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)comparing TAVR and SAVR were identified from databases including PubMed,Scopus, and Web of Science up to May 31,2024.Data were extracted on clinical outcomes, including mortality, procedural compli-cations,and post-procedure adverse events.Risk ratios(RRs)with 95%CIs were calculated using a random-effects model.RESULTS A total of 10 RCTs were included.TAVR demonstrated a significantly lower risk of acute kidney injury(RR:0.33;95%CI:0.25–0.44),major bleeding(RR:0.37;95%CI:0.30–0.46),and new-onset atrial fibrillation(RR:0.44;95%CI:0.34–0.57)compared to SAVR.However,TAVR was associated with higher risks of new permanent pacemaker implantation(RR:3.49;95%CI:2.77–4.39),major vascular complications(RR:2.47;95%CI:1.91–3.21),and paraval-vular leaks(RR:4.15;95%CI:3.14–5.48).Mortality at 30 days was comparable(RR:0.95;95%CI:0.78–1.15),but long-term mortality was slightly higher with TAVR in some analyses(RR:1.23;95%CI:1.01–1.49).Rates of stroke(RR:0.97;95%CI:0.81–1.17)and myocardial infarction(RR:0.91;95%CI:0.67–1.24)were similar between the groups.CONCLUSION TAVR offers a less invasive option with significant benefits in reducing acute kidney injury, major bleeding, and new-onset atrial fibrillation, making it particularly advantageous for high-risk surgical candidates. However, higher risks of permanent pacemaker implantation, vascular complications, and paravalvular leaks highlight the need for individualized patient selection and shared decision-making to optimize outcomes.

文摘This study addressed the critical need for an integrated, personalized approach to perimenopausal mental health, addressing both biological and psychosocial fac-tors.Current research highlighted the influence of hormonal fluctuations, genetic predispositions, and lifestyle factors in shaping perimenopausal mental health outcomes. This transitional period is marked by significant hormonal fluctuations contributing to heightened anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances, affecting the women’s quality of life.Traditional pharmacological treatments, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and hormone replacement therapy, have limitations due to variable efficacy and side effects, emphasizing the need for precision medicine.Advancements in pharmacogenomics and metabolomics provide new avenues for individualized treatments, with genetic markers(e.g.,Solute carrier organic anion transporter family member 1B1,estrogen receptor 1/estrogen receptor 2,and tachykinin receptor 3)guiding hormone therapy resp-onses.Emerging digital health technologies, such as artificial intelligence-driven diagnostics, wearable monitoring, and telehealth platforms, offer scalable,real-time mental health support, though regulatory and clinical validation challenges remain.Furthermore, integrative treatment models combining hormone-based therapy with non-pharmacological interventions demonstrate significant efficacy in alleviating perimenopausal symptoms.Future directions should prioritize the clinical validation and ethical implementation of digital health solutions, ensuring safety, efficacy, and user accessibility.A multidisciplinary,patient-centric model, incorporating genetics, endocrinology, digital health, and psychosocial interventions,is essential for optimizing perimenopausal mental health outcomes.
