Thus, minimizing energy dissipation and propagation delay is an important design objective. In this paper, we propose a new spatial and temporal encoding approach for generic on-chip global buses with repeaters that enables higher performance while reducing peak energy and average energy. The proposed encoding approach exploits the benefits of a temporal encoding circuit and spatial bus-invert coding techniques to simultaneously eliminate opposite transitions on adjacent wires and reduce the number of self-transitions and coupling-transitions. In the design process of applying encoding techniques for reduced bus delay and energy, we present a repeater insertion design methodology to determine the repeater size and inter-repeater bus length, which minimizes the total bus energy dissipation while satisfying target delay and slew-rate constraints. This methodology is employed to obtain optimal energy versus delay trade-offs under slew-rate constraints for various encoding techniques.展开更多

An electronic counter-countermeasure...The interrupted sampling repeater jamming(ISRJ) is an effective deception jamming method for coherent radar, especially for the wideband linear frequency modulation(LFM) radar. An electronic counter-countermeasure(ECCM) scheme is proposed to remove the ISRJ-based false targets from the pulse compression result of the de-chirping radar. Through the time-frequency(TF) analysis of the radar echo signal, it can be found that the TF characteristics of the ISRJ signal are discontinuous in the pulse duration because the ISRJ jammer needs short durations to receive the radar signal. Based on the discontinuous characteristics a particular band-pass filter can be generated by two alternative approaches to retain the true target signal and suppress the ISRJ signal. The simulation results prove the validity of the proposed ECCM scheme for the ISRJ.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND The feasibility and safety of radiofrequency ablation(RFA)for oligometastatic colorectal liver metastases(CRLM)have been well established. However, the role of RFA in multiple metastases after first-line chemotherapy failure remains underexplored.AIM To assess long-term survival and factors affecting outcomes of RFA in patients with multiple refractory CRLM.METHODS A retrospective study was conducted on patients who underwent ablation of CRLM at our institution between January 2015 and June 2024.A total of 80 patients were included, with 42 individuals receiving single-session ablation and 38 underwent repeat ablation.Enhanced computed tomography imaging was utilized to evaluate procedural efficacy 24 hours post-RFA,followed by follow-up scans every 3-4 months.Progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)rates were compared at endpoint using Kaplan-Meier curves.Cox regression was used to identify the factors associated with OS and PFS.RESULTS The technical success rate was recorded at 98.7%.At endpoint,42(52.5%)patients achieved tumor-free survival, while 28(35%)remained alive with residual tumors present. No significant OS/PFS differences existed between single-session(median follow-up 29.5 months, median PFS 24.5 months)and repeat ablation(30 months,14 months)cohorts(P>0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that larger tumor size(P<0.001)and older age(P=0.01)were associated with worse OS.The median PFS was 13.5 months, with tumor size emerging as the only independent predictor(P=0.04).CONCLUSION For patients with multiple refractory CRLM,both single-session ablation and repeat ablation can increase the proportion of patients achieving tumor-free status. However, careful consideration is necessary for ablation of metastases larger than 2.7 cm.

文摘Background:Facial nerve injury is a neurological condition that involves paralysis or weakness of the facial muscles.Repeated transcranial acupuncture stimulation(rTAS)is a specialized acupuncture technique that has shown effectiveness in clinical studies for treating facial nerve paralysis;however, its underlying mechanisms are incompletely understood. We aimed to clarify the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of rTAS on facial nerve compression injury-induced facial paralysis in rats. Methods:Fifty rats were divided into five groups(n=10 per group):control group(CG),model group(MG),and three rTAS groups:0-min repeated transcranial acupuncture stimulation group(rTAS-0),2-min repeated transcranial acupuncture stimulation group(rTAS-2),5-min repeated transcranial acupuncture stimulation group(rTAS-5).The MG and rTAS groups underwent facial nerve compression to model paralysis, whereas CG underwent nerve exposure only. The rTAS groups then received acupuncture(30 min daily for 14 days)with varying twisting and rest durations. We assessed facial function, temperature, and electrophysiology, followed by serum and facial nerve collection for hematoxylin and eosin,Nissl, and Masson's staining, and for immunohistochemistry,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction to explore nerve repair factors. Results:Compared with the CG,the MG showed reduced facial function, prolonged latency and decreased amplitude of compound muscle action potentials, and more severe nerve injury, including lower Nissl body counts and collagen fiber ratios(p<0.05).rTAS treatment alleviated facial nerve damage;rTAS-5 exhibited the greatest effects, with improved facial function, nerve activity, and electrophysiological indices and reduced pathological scores.rTAS-5 also enhanced histological features such as Nissl body density and collagen fiber ratios(p<0.05).Moreover,rTAS-5 upregulated JAK1 and STAT3 expression in the facial nerve, suggesting activation of the JAK/STAT pathway during the repair process. Conclusions:rTAS may improve facial function in rats with facial paralysis, and a longer twisting time might yield better results. Our findings suggest that rTAS increases JAK1 and STAT3 expression to activate the JAK/STAT pathway, thereby promoting the regeneration and repair of damaged nerves.

文摘In repeated zero-sum games, instead of constantly playing an equilibrium strategy of the stage game, learning to exploit the opponent given historical interactions could typically obtain a higher utility. However, when playing against a fully adaptive opponent, one would have dificulty identifying the opponent's adaptive dynamics and further exploiting its potential weakness. In this paper,we study the problem of optimizing against the adaptive opponent who uses no-regret learning.No-regret learning is a classic and widely-used branch of adaptive learning algorithms. We propose a general framework for online modeling no-regret opponents and exploiting their weakness. With this framework, one could approximate the opponent's no-regret learning dynamics and then develop a response plan to obtain a significant profit based on the inferences of the opponent's strategies. We employ two system identification architectures, including the recurrent neural network(RNN)and the nonlinear autoregressive exogenous model, and adopt an efficient greedy response plan within the framework.Theoretically,we prove the approximation capability of our RNN architecture at approximating specific no-regret dynamics.Empirically,we demonstrate that during interactions at a low level of non-stationarity,our architectures could approximate the dynamics with a low error, and the derived policies could exploit the no-regret opponent to obtain a decent utility.

文摘The nucleotide-binding domain,leucine-rich repeat, and pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3)inflammasome is a critical modulator in inflammatory disease.Activation and mutation of NLRP3 can cause severe inflammation in diseases such as chronic infantile neurologic cutaneous and articular syndrome,Muckle-Wells syndrome, and familial cold autoinflammatory syndrome 1.To date,a great effort has been made to decode the underlying mechanisms of NLRP3 activation. The priming and activation of NLRP3 drive the maturation and release of active interleukin(IL)-18 and IL-1βto cause inflammation and pyroptosis, which can significantly trigger many diseases including inflammatory diseases, immune disorders, metabolic diseases, and neurodegenerative diseases. The investigation of NLRP3 as a therapeutic target for disease treatment is a hot topic in both preclinical studies and clinical trials.Developing potent NLRP3 inhibitors and downstream IL-1 inhibitors attracts wide-spectrum attention in both research and pharmaceutical fields. In this minireview,we first updated the molecular mechanisms involved in NLRP3 inflammasome activation and the associated downstream signaling pathways. We then reviewed the molecular and cellular pathways of NLRP3 in many diseases, including obesity, diabetes, and other metabolic diseases. In addition,we briefly reviewed the roles of NLRP3 in cancer growth and relative immune checkpoint therapy. Finally, clinical trials with treatments targeting NLRP3 and its downstream signaling pathways were summarized.

文摘Chloroplasts are essential for normal plant growth and development. In plants, pentatricopeptide repeat(PPR)proteins mediate RNA processing in chloroplasts. Here,we characterized a rice albino leaf 5(al5)mutant which exhibits albinism during early leaf development. The MutMap+analysis and transformation experiments revealed that AL5 encodes a chloroplast-localized P-type PPR protein. The AL5 mutation resulted in the defective splicing of ribosomal protein L2(rpl2)and ribosomal protein S12(rps12),which are involved in the synthesis of chloroplast 50S and 30S ribosomal subunits, respectively. The RNA-electrophoretic mobility shift assay(REMSA)further demonstrated that AL5 directly binds to rpl2 transcripts. Finally, disruption of AL5 led to reduced expression of plastid-encoded polymerase(PEP)-dependent plastid genes and nuclear-encoded photosynthetic genes.Notably, the albino al5 mutant phenotype was regulated by low temperature. These results suggest that AL5 participates in plastid RNA splicing and plays an important role in chloroplast development in rice.

文摘BACKGROUND The mortality rate for severe cases of acute pancreatitis(AP),a common gastrointestinal emergency,is as high as 30%.Our previous study has shown that rutaecarpine(Rut)has a therapeutic effect on AP.AIM To investigate the role of F-box and WD repeat domain containing 11(FBXW11)in AP models and to assess whether Rut mitigates AP by regulating FBXW11.METHODS AP rat model was established and treated with Rut,followed by biochemical analysis of serum amylase and lipase, hematoxylin and eosin staining of pancreatic tissue, and immunohistochemistry detection of pancreatic Ly6G,CD11b,and myeloperoxidase.Assay kits were used to detect oxidative stress-related indicators in pancreatic tissue and inflammatory factors in serum.AR42J cells were treated with cerulein to model AP and subjected to Cell Counting Kit-8 viability assay, flow cytometry apoptosis assay, and immunofluorescence detection of reactive oxygen species to elucidate the mechanistic involvement of the enhancer of zeste homolog 2(EZH2)-FBXW11 axis in Rut-mediated protection against AP.The EZH2-histone H3 binding and H3 methylation were evaluated using co-immunoprecipitation.RESULTS Rut treatment ameliorated AP severity,as evidenced by reduced serum levels of pancreatic enzymes(amylase and lipase)and attenuated histological damage.Rut also decreased inflammatory markers(interleukin-1 beta,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor alpha),tissue oxidative stress(malondialdehyde),and neutrophil infiltration(Ly6G,CD11b,and myeloperoxidase)levels in rats with AP.Moreover,Rut restored pancreatic antioxidant capacity(glutathione and superoxide dismutase). In vitro,Rut pre-incubation enhanced cell viability and suppressed cerulein-induced apoptosis and oxidative stress.Rut increased EZH2 expression while decreasing FBXW11 expression.FBXW11 overexpression eliminated the protective effect of Rut against AP.Further analysis revealed that EZH2 binds to H3 and upregulates H3 methylation levels, thereby inhibiting FBXW11 expression.CONCLUSION Collectively, our findings demonstrate that Rut ameliorates AP by upregulating EZH2,thereby enhancing H3 methylation and suppressing FBXW11 expression.

文摘Dear Editor,We report a surgical method for treating repeat Descemet’s membrane(DM)detachments in two cases with DM micro-perforation during deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty(DALK).DM micro-perforation is a common intraoperative complication that occurs during the performance of DM baring in DALK,using methods such as the bigbubble air technique[1].The sequelae of DM micro-perforations include postoperative DM detachments, higher endothelial cell loss, endothelial decompensation, and transplant interface scarring[2].
文摘On-chip global buses in deep sub-micron designs consume significant amounts of energy and have large propagation delays. This methodology is employed to obtain optimal energy versus delay trade-offs under slew-rate constraints for various encoding techniques.

文摘The interrupted sampling repeater jamming(ISRJ) is an effective deception jamming method for coherent radar, especially for the wideband linear frequency modulation(LFM) radar. The simulation results prove the validity of the proposed ECCM scheme for the ISRJ.
