Cooling of a Diesel Reformate Fuelled Solid Oxide Fuel Cell by Internal Reforming of Methane: A Modelling Study 被引量:1

In this paper a system combining a diesel reformer using catalytic partial oxidation (CPOX) with the Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) for Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) applications is modeled with respect to the cooling effect provided by internal reforming of methane in anode gas channel. A model mixture consisting of 80% n-hexadecane and 20%..!-methylnaphthalin is used to simulate the commercial diesel. The modelling consists of several steps. First, equilibrium gas composition at the exit of CPOX reformer is modelled in terms oxygen to car- bon (O/C) ratio, fuel utilization ratio and anode gas recirculation. Second, product composition, especially methane content, is determined for the me.th.an, ation process at the operating temperatures ra:ng!ng from 500 ℃to 520 ℃.Finally, the cooling power provided by internal reforming of methane in SOFC fuel channel is calculated for two concepts to increase the methane content of the diesel reformate. The results show that the first concept, operating the diesel reformer at low O/C ratio and/or, recirculation rat!o, is not realizable due to high probability of coke formation, whereas the second concept, combining a methanation process with CPOX, can provide a significant cool- ing effect in addition to the conventional c?oling concept which needs higher levels of excess air. 展开更多

Under the backdrop of“Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality”(dual carbon)goal in China,the methane-carbon dioxide reforming reaction has attracted considerable attention due to its environmental benefits of converting two greenhouse gases(methane and carbon dioxide)into syngas and its promising industrial applications.Nickel(Ni)-based catalysts,with high catalytic activity,low cost,and abundant resources,are considered ideal candidates for industrial applications.In this article,three reaction kinetic models were briefly introduced,namely the Power-Law(PL)model,the Eley-Rideal(ER)model,and the Langmuir-Hinshelwood-Hougen-Watson(LHHW)model.Based on the LHHW model,the reaction kinetics and mechanisms of different catalytic systems were systematically discussed,including the properties of supports,the doping of noble metals and transition metals,the role of promoters,and the influence of the geometric and electronic structures of Ni on the reaction mechanism.Furthermore,the kinetics of carbon deposition and elimination on various catalysts were analyzed.Based on the reaction rate expressions for carbon elimination,the reasons for the high activity of transition metal iron(Fe)-doped catalysts and core-shell structured catalysts in carbon elimination were explained.Based on the detailed collation and comparative analysis of the reaction mechanisms and kinetic characteristics across diverse Ni-based catalytic systems,a theoretical guidance for the designing of high-performance catalysts was provided in this work. 展开更多

This study intends to address the advent of higher education massification in Eritrea following the restructuring of higher education in 2004-2005. The study applied both qualitative and quantitative research methods. The target respondents of the survey questionnaire in the study were instructors, graduates, students, administrative personnel of all higher education institutions. The findings reveal that, institutes of higher education in Eritrea are currently confronting low quality of education, shortage of senior national faculties, dependence on fixed government budget, lack of digitalized governance and weak technology infrastructure. The study concludes that, the higher education institutions after reform achieved commendable results in human resource development, narrowing gender inequality, linkage with domestic and external stakeholders in various areas of cooperation. Moreover, students’ admission rate and enrollment rate increased steadily, academic programs, departments, courses, research projects and consultancy services flourished and the advent of massification in general brought positive returns to Eritrea. 展开更多

A review of hydrogen production and storage technologies for power system integration and applications

The fast-changing trajectory of energy systems toward renewables requires flexible,low-emission technologies that can buffer supply intermittently and offer large-scale energy storage systems.Moreso,hydrogen is increasingly viewed as a multi-scale flexibility resource capable of supporting deep decarbonization in renewable-dominated power systems,yet existing reviews often treat production,storage,and conversion technologies in isolation.Hydrogen offers the ability to convert,store and reconvert energy on various timescales.This review critically analyses the current literature of hydrogen production and storage in relation to power systems integration,synthesizing technical,economic and operational advances.The study synthesizes recent advances in electrolysis,particularly PEM and high-temperature SOEC systems,together with emerging PEC routes,biomass-to-hydrogen processes,and long-duration storage technologies.It considers,for storage,the performance and maturity of compressed gas,liquid hydrogen,metal and complex hydrides,liquid organic hydrogen carriers,and geological formations.Integration studies show that the value of hydrogen is enhanced as the share of renewables increases,providing seasonal storage,grid balancing,and sector coupling via power-to-hydrogen-to-power configurations.Yet technical,economic and other hurdles such as conversion losses,infrastructure requirements,and safety considerations are still holding back widespread implementation.The review also underlines the value of policy frameworks,such as country-level hydrogen strategies,carbon pricing,tax incentives,and harmonized safety standards to speed up adoption and reduce barriers to costs.The review synthesizes offer planners,operators,and policymakers a clear roadmap for aligning hydrogen deployment strategies with evolving technical requirements and high-renewable power-system conditions.By summarizing what is known and discussing opportunities for the future,this review is intended to be a roadmap towards maximizing hydrogen in reaching a flexible,resilient and carbon free power system. 展开更多

To meet the need for cultivating application-oriented talents in local universities,this study introduced a project-based learning approach into the reform of bioinformatics experimental teaching.The course was structured around a project titled"Influenza Virus Analysis",comprising four progressive modules:database utilization and information retrieval,sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis,functional and structural prediction,and omics data analysis.These modules were integrated into a coherent research workflow that connected fragmented knowledge and technical skills.During implementation,flipped classroom and group collaboration methods were employed,alongside the establishment of a diversified assessment system emphasizing process evaluation.Teaching practice indicates that the reform effectively enhances students professional application skills,learning experience,and scientific literacy,facilitating a shift from"tool operation"to"problem-solving"capabilities.This study provides a reference model for the reform of bioinformatics experimental teaching in local universities. 展开更多

Methanol steam reforming(MSR)represents a promising route for hydrogen production,leveraging the high energy density and liquid-phase storage advantages of methanol.Copper-based catalysts have become indispensable for MSR due to their cost-effectiveness,exceptional catalytic activity,and tunable selectivity.However,persistent challenges such as thermal sintering,undesirable CO byproduct formation,diminished low-temperature reactivity,and long-term catalyst deactivation limit their broad industrial deployment.This review comprehensively examines the mechanistic pathways of MSR over Cu-based catalysts,with particular focus on differentiating catalyst formulations optimized for high-temperature(>200°C)versus low-temperature(<200°C)operation.It highlights the decisive influence of Cu nanoparticle size,electronic structure,and crystal structure on catalytic performance.Cutting-edge design strategies,including multi-element engineering,innovative synthesis techniques,and deactivation mitigation,are critically evaluated to elucidate mechanistic connections between atomic-scale structure and catalytic performance enhancement.Finally,industrial applications of commercial Cu/ZnO/Al_(2)O_(3)variants and their scalability challenges are discussed,alongside prospective strategies for catalyst innovation and engineering to advance next-generation hydrogen production. 展开更多

提出了一种基于PiReformer的风功率预测模型。首先,针对海量高维传感器捕获的数据,提出融合F检验、互信息与方差分析的特征筛选方法,将3类方法提取的特征融合后输入后续预测模型。进一步,在现有Reformer模型的基础上,对嵌入层进行转置... 提出了一种基于PiReformer的风功率预测模型。首先,针对海量高维传感器捕获的数据,提出融合F检验、互信息与方差分析的特征筛选方法,将3类方法提取的特征融合后输入后续预测模型。进一步,在现有Reformer模型的基础上,对嵌入层进行转置改进并引入随机噪声,显著提升了模型性能;同时,提出改进的前馈层网络,基于门控线性单元(gated linear unit,GLU)改进单一全连接层,增强对非线性特征的提取能力。此外,模型具备反向残差结构及局部敏感哈希(locality sensitive Hashing,LSH)注意力模块。将所提方法应用于实际风电场的风功率预测,相较于现有模型,取得了更高精度的预测结果。 展开更多

With ongoing global warming and increasing energy demands,the CH_(4)-CO_(2)reforming reaction(dry reforming of methane,DRM)has garnered significant attention as a promising carbon capture and utilization technology.Nickel-based catalysts are renowned for their outstanding activity and selectivity in this process.The impact of metal-support interaction(MSI),on Ni-based catalyst performance has been extensively researched and debated recently.This paper reviews the recent research progress of MSI on Ni-based catalysts and their characterization and modulation strategies in catalytic reactions.From the perspective of MSI,the effects of different carriers(metal oxides,carbon materials and molecular sieves,etc.)are introduced on the dispersion and surface structure of Ni active metal particles,and the effect of MSI on the activity and stability of DRM reactions on Ni-based catalysts is discussed in detail.Future research should focus on better understanding and controlling MSI to improve the performance and durability of nickel-based catalysts in CH_(4)-CO_(2)reforming,advancing cleaner energy technologies. 展开更多

The reform stems from honesty and determination. Since 2005, organ donation and transplantation in China has undergone thorough reform, which complies with legislation requirements and ethical principles established by the World Health Organization(WHO). Reform in China has demonstrated the unwavering confidence and utmost determination of the Chinese government and the Chinese transplantation community. The year 2015 marked a historic turning point when voluntary donations from Chinese citizens became the sole legitimate source for organ transplantation. Since 2015, China has gradually established and refined the “Chinese Mode” and “China System” for organ donation and transplantation, fulfilling its political pledge of reform, and has garnered international recognition, and fostered a social culture which promotes organ donation. This article reviewed the history of reform on organ donation and transplantation in China, presented a new pattern of establishment of organ donation system in the new era of the country, and the direction of advances in the future. 展开更多

There is a growing recognition of the critical role of security governance in advancing democratic transition in the post-conflict environment.Despite such a recognition,the security sector reform concept has overshadowed the importance of the overarching strategic role of security governance in transition to democracy,particularly in Africa.This paper assesses the status and challenges facing security governance and how they thwarted the efforts to furthering the democratic transition in South Sudan.The paper shows a deterioration in security,safety and security governance outcomes since the independence of South Sudan in 2011 with such a trend unlikely to be abated in the near future without strategic interventions.Some of the challenges facing security governance in South Sudan include the legacies of some historical events including the“Big Tent Policy”,absence of strategic leadership,lack of overarching policy framework,impractical and tenuous security arrangements in the 2018 peace agreement,persistent postponement of the first elections,and dysfunctional justice sector.The paper provides some strategic and operational recommendations to improve security governance and advance democratic transition in South Sudan.These recommendations include formulation of an inclusive and people-centered national security policy,rigorous judicial reform,and early political agreement on new political infrastructure if conditions for holding the first national elections are not met in 2026. 展开更多

Based on the educational evaluation reform,this study explores the construction of an evidence-based value-added evaluation system based on data-driven,aiming to solve the limitations of traditional evaluation methods.The research adopts the method of combining theoretical analysis and practical application,and designs the evidence-based value-added evaluation framework,which includes the core elements of a multi-source heterogeneous data acquisition and processing system,a value-added evaluation agent based on a large model,and an evaluation implementation and application mechanism.Through empirical research verification,the evaluation system has remarkable effects in improving learning participation,promoting ability development,and supporting teaching decision-making,and provides a theoretical reference and practical path for educational evaluation reform in the new era.The research shows that the evidence-based value-added evaluation system based on data-driven can reflect students’actual progress more fairly and objectively by accurately measuring the difference in starting point and development range of students,and provide strong support for the realization of high-quality education development. 展开更多

Metal-Supported Solid Oxide Fuel Cells(MS-SOFCs)hold significant potential for driving the energy transition.These electrochemical devices represent the most advanced generation of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell(SOFCs)and can pave the way for mass production and wider adoption than Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells(PEMFCs)due to their fuel flexibility,higher power density and the absence of noble metals in the fabrication processes.This review examines the state-of-the-art of SOFCs and MS-SOFCs,presenting perspectives and research directions for these key technological devices,highlighting novel materials,techniques,architectures,devices,and degradation mechanisms to address current challenges and future opportunities.Techniques such as infiltration/impregnation,ex-solution catalyst synthesis,and the use of a pre-catalytic reformer layer are discussed as their impact on efficiency and prolonged activity.These concepts are also described and connected with well-dispersed nano particles,hindrance of coarsening,and an increased number of Triple Phase Boundaries(TPBs).This review also describes the synergistic use of reformers with MS-SOFCs to compose solutions in energy generation from readily available fuels.Lastly,the End-of-Life(EoL),recycling,and life-cycle assessments(LCAs)of the Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicles(FCHEVs)were discussed.LCAs comparing Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles(FCEVs)equipped with(PEMFCs)and FCHEVs equipped with MS-SOFCs,both powered with hydrogen(H_(2))generated by different routes were compared.This review aims to provide valuable insights into these key technological devices,emphasizing the importance of robust research and development to enhance performance and lifespan while reducing costs and environmental impact. 展开更多

This study focuses on the deepening paths of ideological and political construction of professional courses in higher vocational colleges,taking the layout design course of the digital media technology major as the research object,and explores the integration mechanism of excellent traditional Chinese culture and professional teaching.The curriculum’s ideological and political reform is advanced through three major measures:Reconstructing the role of teachers,innovating teaching methods,and building a cultural infiltration system.Combined with the three-dimensional assessment mechanism of“professional+culture+value”and the transformation of teaching achievements into competitions,it breaks through the limitations of traditional skill training and systematically solves the problems of formalization tendency and insufficient value guidance existing in the practice of curriculum ideology and politics.It responds to the era proposition of“promoting the creative transformation of excellent traditional Chinese culture,”and provides an operable solution for higher vocational colleges to break the predicament of“emphasizing skills while neglecting culture.” 展开更多
