Nonlinear PAPR reducers, such as clipping and companding techniques, are some simple methods used to reduce the Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR). In this paper, assuming that the baseband OFDM signal is characterized as a band-limited complex Gaussian process, we investigate the PAPR distribution of an OFDM signal when it is passed through a nonlinear PAPR reducer. The obtained PAPR distribution depends on the nonlinear function which characterizes the PAPR reducer. Later in this paper, we apply the obtained PAPR distribution in the clipping case. The comparisons made between the proposed distribution and that obtained thanks to computer simulations show good agreement. 展开更多

A geometrical parameters optimization and reducers selection method was proposed for robotic manipulators design. The Lagrangian approach was employed in deriving the dynamic model of a two-DOF manipulator. The flexibility of links and joints was taken into account in the mechanical structure dimensions optimization and reducers selection, in which Timoshenko model was used to discretize the hollow links. Two criteria, i.e. maximization of fundamental frequency and minimization of self-mass/load ratio, were utilized to optimize the manipulators. The NSGA-II (fast elitist nondominated sorting genetic algorithms) was employed to solve the multi-objective optimization problem. How the joints flexibility affects the manipulators design was analyzed and shown in the numerical analysis example. The results indicate that simultaneous consideration of the joints and the links flexibility is very necessary for manipulators optimal design. Finally, several optimal combinations were provided. The effectiveness of the optimization method was proved by comparing with ADAMS simulation results. The self-mass/load ratio error of the two methods is within 10%. The maximum error of the natural frequency by the two methods is 23.74%. The method proposed in this work provides a fast and effective pathway for manipulator design and reducers selection. 展开更多

However, the tough working condition in space(including frequent changes of temperature, and large temperature difference combined with shock loads) may significantly affect the reliability.In this paper, the expressions of the minimal and maximal instantaneous transmission ratios(ITRs) considering temperature correction are developed. The minimal and maximal ITRs from simulation are used to verify the accuracy. Moreover, the reliability of a filtering reducer under different temperatures and the shock load are calculated, respectively. The research is beneficial to the design of spacecraft mechanism. 展开更多

Multifunctional carrier-free nanodrugs for enhanced delivery and efficacy of hydrophobic antitumor drugs

Poor solubility often results in low efficacy of antitumor drugs.Nevertheless,limited research has been conducted on the potential decrease in drug efficacy following the self-assembly of hydrophobic pure drugs into nanodrugs,and solutions to this problem are even rarer.Loading water-insoluble antitumor drugs into nanocarriers offers a promising solution.However,intricate carrier preparation,limited drug loading capacity,and carrier-associated safety remain key challenges.In this study,based on the discovery that hydrophobic gambogic acid(GA) self-assembles into nanostructures with diminished antitumor efficacy in aqueous environments,we developed a carrier-free nanodrug system,designated as GA-S-S-AS nanoparticles(NPs),characterized by straightforward preparation,high drug loading,fluorescence imaging,tumor-targeting,and responsive drug release in reducing environments.Specifically,the hydrophobic GA was covalently linked to the hydrophilic aptamer through a disulfide bond and then self-assembled into the nanodrugs.About 92 % of drug was encapsulated in self-assembled NPs,demonstrating remarkable stability under physiological conditions and controlled release of GA in the high-glutathione environment characteristic of tumor sites.Furthermore,by utilizing the synergistic interaction between the enhanced permeability and retention(EPR) effect and ligand-receptor active targeting mechanisms,the nanodrugs significantly increased the accumulation of GA at tumor locations.Consequently,the nanodrugs exhibited optimal therapeutic efficacy against the tumor both in vitro and in vivo,significantly inhibiting tumor growth.Furthermore,the nanodrugs demonstrated enhanced biosafety compared to free GA,effectively reducing GA-induced hepatotoxicity.Taken together,these findings underscore the significant potential of this multifunctional carrier-free nanodrugs for the targeted delivery of GA,thereby laying a foundation for future endeavors aimed at developing novel formulations of hydrophobic antitumor drugs. 展开更多

Unconventional application of a fluorescent probe for MS-based detection of multiple sulfur species in ferroptosis

Ferroptosis has exhibited great potential in therapies and intracellular reducing agents of sulfur species(RSSs) in the thiol-dependent redox systems are crucial in ferroptosis.This makes the simultaneous detection of multiple RSSs significant for evaluating ferroptosis therapy.However,the traditional techniques,including fluorescent(FL) imaging and electrospray ionization-based mass spectrometry(MS) detection,cannot achieve the discrimination of different RSSs.Herein,simultaneous MS detection of multiple RSSs,including cysteine(Cys),homocysteine(Hcy),glutathione(GSH) and hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S),was obtained upon enhancing ionization efficiency by a fluorescent probe(NBD-O-1).Based on the interaction between NBD-O-1 and RSSs,the complex of RSSs with a fragment of NBD-O-1 can be generated,which can be easily ionized for MS detection in the negative mode.Therefore,the intracellular RSSs can be well detected upon the incubation of He La cells with the probe of NBD-O-1,exhibiting the total RSS levels by the FL imaging and further providing expression of each RSS by enhanced MS detection.Furthermore,the RSSs during ferroptosis in He La cells have been evaluated using the present strategy,demonstrating the potential for ferroptosis examinations.This work has made an unconventional application of a fluorescent probe to enhance the detection of multiple RSSs by MS,providing significant molecular information for addressing the ferroptosis mechanism. 展开更多

Carbon coatings for silicon(Si)-based anode materials are essential for designing high-performance Li-ion batteries(LIBs).The coatings prevent direct contact with the electrolyte and enhance anode performance.However,conventional carbon coatings are limited by their volume expansion and structural degradation,which lead to capacity fading and reduced durability.This study introduces a scalable and practical one-step carbon-coating strategy for directly coating silicon suboxide(SiO_(x))-based materials using aqueous quasi-defect-free reduced graphene oxide(QrGO)without post-treatment,unlike conventional graphene oxide(GO)-based coating methods.This simple process enables uniform encapsulation with QrGO for a highly adhesive and conductive coating.The QrGO-based composite anode material has several advantages,including reduced cracking due to volume expansion and enhanced charge carrier transport,as well as an increased Si content of 20 wt.%compared to the 5 wt.%in typical commercial Si-based active materials.In particular,the capacity retention of the QrGO-coated Si electrodes dramatically increases at high C-rate.The full cell exhibited long-term stability and capacity that were twice that of commercial SiO_(x)-based cells.Therefore,the QrGO-based one-step coating process represents a scalable,transformative,and commercially viable strategy for developing high-performance LIBs. 展开更多

The two distinct types of composite materials(5%to 10%)were developed using recycled polyvinyl alcohol fiber(RPA),silicon nitride fiber(SN),and reduced carbon nanoparticles(RCN).Enhanced microstructural properties and mechanical strength were attained through the application of the 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane coupling method.The combination of the resin-like properties of RPA-SN fiber resulted in the formation of robust outer strength and a high bonding structure.RPA-RCN composite materials with a weight percentage of 10%exhibited a tensile strength of 42 MPa.In contrast,RPA-SN-RCN composite materials containing 5%to 10%demonstrated enhanced tensile,bending,and hardness properties.Pyramid structures,solid structures,and crystal phases were formed using RCN particles.The resin and silane properties on hardness were gradually 14%increasing the outside region,whereas RPA-SN-RCN(10 wt%)on average hardness were attained at 86(Shore-D).The microstructures on RPA-RCN(5%to 10%)samples were observed solid structure,twin boundary’s structure and lattice structure.The tensile strength of RPA-SN-RCN(10%)was 67.3MPa,whereas the impact strength of RPA-RCN(10 wt%)was 53 J/mm2.The scanning electron microscopies(SEM)were used to investigate the microstructure of the RPA-SN-RCN(5%)and RPA-SN-RCN(10%)composite materials,respectively. 展开更多

Ultra-high-temperature resistant water-based drilling fluid technology for ten-kilometer ultra-deep wells

Two types of ultra-high-temperature resistant water-based drilling fluid additives were designed and developed:an ultra-high-temperature resistant salt-tolerant polymer fluid loss reducer,and an ultra-high-temperature resistant micro-nano plugging agent.An ultra-high-temperature resistant water-based drilling fluid system meeting the requirements of ultra-deep well drilling was established.Laboratory test and field application were employed for performance evaluation.The ultra-high-temperature and high-salt resistant polymer fluid loss reducer exhibits a mesh-like membrane structure with numerous cross-linking points,and its high-temperature and high-pressure(HTHP)loss was 28.2 m L after aging at 220℃under saturated salt conditions.The ultra-high-temperature resistant micro-nano plugging agent adaptively filled mud cake pores/fractures through deformation,thus reducing the fluid loss.At elevated temperatures,it transitioned to a viscoelastic state to effectively cement the rock on wellbore wall and enhanced wall stability.The ultra-high-temperature resistant water-based drilling fluid system with a density of 1.6 g/cm^(3)exhibits excellent rheological properties at high temperature and high pressure.Its HTHP fluid loss at 220℃was only 9.6 m L.It maintains a stable performance under high-temperature and high-salt conditions,with a sedimentation factor below 0.52 after holding at high temperature for 7 d,and generates no H_(2)S gas after aging,demonstrating good lubricity and safety.This drilling fluid system has been successfully applied in the 10000-meter ultra-deep well of China,Shenditake 1,in Tarim Oilfield,ensuring the well's successful drilling to a depth of 10910 m. 展开更多

The growing demand for personalized health care,smart wearables,and advanced environmental monitoring has spurred the development of multifunctional materials that combine flexibility,environmental adaptability,and diverse functionalities.However,conventional materials often failed to integrate these attributes simultaneously,hindering their applicability in next-generation technologies.Here,we present an organic-inorganic hybrid crystalline material with a unique sandwich-like architecture,in which a flexible organic crystal core is encased by reduced graphene oxide(rGO)and thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU).This strategic integration endows the material with fluorescence,cryogenic flexibility,and electrical conductivity,while also enabling dual sensing and actuation capabilities.The rGO layer facilitates real-time humidity(25-90%RH)and temperature(25-180℃)sensing through environmental interactions,whereas the differential thermal expansion between TPU and the flexible crystal core drives efficient photothermal actuation at-150℃ for advanced thermal regulation.The hybrid material exhibits stable performance under extreme conditions,making it a promising candidate for biomedical monitoring,flexible electronics,and energy applications.This work establishes hybrid crystalline materials as versatile and scalable platforms for addressing complex technological demands,paving the way for their application in next-generation multifunctional devices. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Ulcerative colitis(UC)is a chronic and debilitating inflammatory bowel disease.Cumulative evidence indicates that excess hydrogen peroxide,a potent neutrophilic chemotactic agent,produced by colonic epithelial cells has a causal role leading to infiltration of neutrophils into the colonic mucosa and subsequent development of UC.This evidence-based mechanism identifies hydrogen peroxide as a therapeutic target for reducing agents in the treatment of UC.CASE SUMMARY Presented is a 41-year-old female with a 26-year history of refractory UC.Having developed steroid dependence and never achieving complete remission on treatment by conventional and advanced therapies,she began treatment with oral R-dihydrolipoic acid(RDLA),a lipid-soluble reducing agent with intracellular site of action.Within a week,rectal bleeding ceased.She was asymptomatic for three years until a highly stressful experience,when she noticed blood in her stool.RDLA was discontinued,and she began treatment with oral sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate(STS),a reducing agent with extracellular site of action.After a week,rectal bleeding ceased,and she resumed oral RDLA and discontinued STS.To date,she remains asymptomatic with normal stool calprotectin while on RDLA.CONCLUSION STS and RDLA are reducing agents that serve as highly effective and safe therapy for the induction and maintenance of remission in UC,even in patients refractory or poorly controlled by conventional and advanced therapies.Should preliminary findings be validated by subsequent clinical trials,the use of reducing agents could potentially prevent thousands of colectomies and represent a paradigm shift in the treatment of UC. 展开更多

African drylands occupied 19.6 million km~2(46%of the total global area)and 525 million people.Soil erosion models are useful for assessing the impact of soil erosion in the dryland areas.This review provides an assessment of soil erosion/deposition models and soil conservation practices,which are supportive for mitigating the impact of soil erosion and maintaining soil health and soil functional services for food security in African drylands.The theories of soil erosion models and soil conservation practices provide advanced ways to understand the detailed impact of soil erosion and management solutions.The paper reviews a set of useful soil erosion models and traditional conservation practices,which can control soil erosion and enhance dryland farming systems in Africa.Soil erosion models are classified into three categories:empirical,conceptual,and physical.Soil conservation practices include reduced tillage,advanced cover crops,mechanical structures(barriers made of stones/gravel/vegetation),advanced mechanical roller-crimper technique,mixed cropping,intercropping,crop rotation systems,terracing techniques,and land modification techniques.These conservation practices are effective in controlling soil erosion,reducing soil damage,improving soil health and quality,enhancing soil fertility,and ensuring food security.The existing assessment suggests that understanding the theories of soil erosion models and soil conservation practices is a first step towards addressing soil erosion problems in African drylands. 展开更多

In vitro maturation(IvM)of human oocytes offers cost efficiency and minimal invasiveness,serving as a valuable supplementary tool in assisted reproduction for fertility preservation,ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome prevention,and other reproductive strategies.Despite its availability for three decades,the clinical use of IVM remains limited due to efficacy and safety concerns.This study examines the DNA methylation profile of IVM oocytes collected during laparoscopic/hysteroscopic surgeries compared to in vivo matured oocytes via reduced representation bisulfite sequencing.Results indicate IVM oocytes exhibit a higher global methylation level.Differentially methylated regions(DMRs)analysis reveals that the in vitro group displays more hypermethylated and fewer hypomethylated DMRs compared to the in vivo group.Additionally,the in vitro group exhibits a higher level of non-CpG methylation than the in vivo group.However,no significant correlation between methylation levels and transcriptional activity in these oocytes is found,especially for those specific imprinted genes or genes related to embryonic development.These findings shed light on the epigenetic landscape of IvM oocytes,contributing to the ongoing assessment of their clinical feasibility and safety in assisted reproduction. 展开更多

Solutions of three-body problem based on an equivalent system approach

Generalised reduced masses with a set of equations governing the three relative motions between two of 3-bodies in their gravitational field are established,of which the dynamic characteristics of 3-body dynamics,fundamental bases of this paper,are revealed.Based on these findings,an equivalent system is developed,which is a 2-body system with its total mass,constant angular momentum,kinetic and potential energies same as the total ones of three relative motions,so that it can be solved using the well-known theory of the 2-body system.From the solution of an equivalent system with the revealed characteristics of three relative motions,the general theoretical solutions of the 3-body system are obtained in the curve-integration forms along the orbits in the imaged radial motion space.The possible periodical orbits with generalised Kepler’s law are presented.Following the description and mathematical demonstrations of the proposed methods,the examples including Euler’s/Lagrange’s problems,and a reported numerical one are solved to validate the proposed methods.The methods derived from the 3-body system are extended to N-body problems. 展开更多

随着电力工程中自动化、信息化设备的日益增多,对电力工程数据的分析与处理能力有了更高的要求。针对这一问题,文中开展了面向多源异构的电力工程数据融合处理技术研究。通过预先设计好的数据框架进行关联操作,实现数据监测与处理分析... 随着电力工程中自动化、信息化设备的日益增多,对电力工程数据的分析与处理能力有了更高的要求。针对这一问题,文中开展了面向多源异构的电力工程数据融合处理技术研究。通过预先设计好的数据框架进行关联操作,实现数据监测与处理分析。为了提高整体数据与局部数据之间的协调性,对融合数据进行边缘自适应增强处理,结合电力工程定值数据处理方法将样本数据分解为多个子数据集,利用神经网络模型分类融合,采用Reduce机制对融合后的数据进行合并处理,输出结果,从而提高数据融合的效率。以某地区电力工程数据集为样本进行的分析结果表明,所提方法在处理数据时具有更高的效率,产生的绝对误差仅为1.675%,且更适用于大容量数据的场景。 展开更多
