BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal(GI)tumors are among the most prevalent malignancies, and surgical intervention remains a primary treatment modality. However, the complexity of GI surgery often leads to prolonged recovery and high postoperative complication rates, which threaten patient safety and functional outcomes.Enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)principles have been shown to improve perioperative outcomes through evidence-based,multidisciplinary care pathways.Despite its widespread adoption, there is a paucity of research focusing specifically on optimizing ERAS-guided nursing processes in the post-anesthesia care unit(PACU)and evaluating its impact on perioperative safety in patients undergoing GI tumor surgery. This study aimed to investigate whether an ERASbased PACU nursing protocol could enhance recovery, reduce complications, and improve patient safety in this surgical population.AIM To explore the impact of optimizing the recovery room nursing process based on ERAS on the perioperative safety of patients with GI tumors.METHODS A total of 260 patients with GI tumors who underwent elective surgeries under general anesthesia in our hospital from August 2023 to August 2025 and were then observed in the recovery unit(PACU)were selected. They were randomly divided into the observation group(the PACU nursing process was optimized based on ERAS)and the control group(the conventional PACU nursing process was adopted)by the random number grouping method, with 130 cases in each group. The time of gastric tube removal, urinary catheter removal, defecation time, hospital stay, time of leaving the room after tube removal, retention time in the recovery room, occurrence of complications, satisfaction and readmission rate were compared between the two groups after entering the room.Compare the occurrence of adverse events in the PACU nursing process between the two groups.RESULTS The time of gastric tube removal, urinary catheter removal, defecation time, hospital stay, retention time in the recovery room, total incidence of complications and readmission rate in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the satisfaction rate was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The occurrence of adverse events in the PACU nursing process in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Optimizing the PACU nursing process based on ERAS can effectively accelerate the recovery process of patients undergoing GI tumor surgery, reduce adverse events, improve nursing satisfaction, and at the same time, lower the incidence of adverse events in the PACU nursing process, providing a more refined management basis for clinical practice. 展开更多

The load-bearing performance(LBP)of pumpable supports(PPS)is crucial for the stability of longwall pre-driven recovery room(PRR)surrounding rock. However, the unbalanced bearing coefficient(UBC)of the PPS(undertaking unequal load along the mining direction)has not been investigated.A mechanical model of the PRR was established, considering the main roof cantilever beam structure,to derive an assessment formula for the load, the failure criteria, and the UBC of the PPS.Subsequently, the generation mechanisms, and influencing factors of the UBC were revealed.Global sensitivity analysis shows that the main roof hanging length(l_(2))and the spacing between the PPS(r)significantly impact the UBC.A novel design of the PPS and the coupling control technology were proposed and applied to reduce the UBC of the PPS in the adjacent longwall PRR.Monitor results showed no failure of the PPS at the test site, with the UBC(ζ)reduced to 1.1 consistent with the design value(1.15)basically,fully utilizing the collaborative LBP of the PPS.Finally, the maximum roof-to-floor convergence of the PRR was 234 mm,effectively controlling the stability of the surrounding rock of the PRR and ensuring the mining equipment recovery. 展开更多

In the absence of professional assistance, patients can develop complications that can lead them into shock or death. This study aims to understand the place of nurses in guiding nursing care in recovery room in two hospitals of Gitega Province by assessing the nurse’s knowledge and attitudes for the promotion of quality nursing care for post-operative patients. Methods: A cross sectional study design was used to assess the practice of nurses in managing nursing care in the recovery room in these two hospitals. A purposive sampling method was used to select the 82 nurses working in the recovery room for these two hospitals and Alain Bouchard’s formula was used to calculate the sample size. Data were collected using a self-report method involving questionnaire completion with five components addressing participants identifications, factors related to the work organization, factors related to the work environment, factors related to healthcare system, and nursing interventions in recovery room. Results: Findings revealed a significant lack of knowledge among the participants and their attitudes were slightly poor as for most of the variables of factors related to healthcare system as their score was less than 50% and their knowledge for nursing interventions was also poor as most of variable scores were less than 25%. Conclusions: The study findings were slightly poor as their scores were less than 50% in most of the variables;therefore, it was recommended that in-service training and workshops should be organized by these healthcare facilities for the purpose of empowering the nurse’s knowledge and practice. Moreover, these institutions should provide and encourage nurses to use nursing guidelines and protocols. 展开更多

Objective: to study the effect of applying the anesthesia and nursing integration model in the anesthesia recovery room of hypertension surgery. Methods: 70 patients with hypertension admitted to the anesthesia recovery room of our hospital from January 2020 to December 2021 were selected and randomly divided into two groups, of which 35 patients in the control group received routine nursing management; The observation group of 35 cases used the anesthesia nursing integrated management model, and compared the adverse reactions, anesthesia recovery time and Steward score of the two groups. Results: the incidence of adverse reactions of heart rate abnormality, agitation and hypoxemia in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference between the groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The anesthesia recovery time in the observation group (96.42±5.28) min was shorter than that in the control group (90.33±4.69) min, and the Steward score in the observation group (4.75±0.38) was higher than that in the control group (3.48±0.27), with statistical significance (p < 0.05). Conclusion: in the nursing of anesthesia recovery room for hypertension patients undergoing surgery, the effect of adopting the anesthesia care integrated management model is good, which can reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, shorten the anesthesia recovery time, and improve the Steward score, and have a positive impact on the maintenance of patients' health. 展开更多
