Twisted polymer artificial muscles activated by thermal heating represent a new class of soft actuators capable of generating torsional actuation.The thermal torsion effect,characterized by the reversible untwisting o...Twisted polymer artificial muscles activated by thermal heating represent a new class of soft actuators capable of generating torsional actuation.The thermal torsion effect,characterized by the reversible untwisting of twisted fibers as temperature increases due to greater radial than axial thermal expansion,is crucial to the actuation performance of these artificial muscles.This study explores the thermal torsion effect of polymer muscles made of twisted Nylon 6 fibers in experimental and theoretical aspects,focusing on the interplay between material properties and temperature.It is revealed that the thermal torsion effect enhances the actuation performance of the twisted polymer actuator while the thermal softening effect diminishes it.A thermal-mechanical model incorporating both the thermal torsion effect and thermal softening effect is used to predict the recovered torque of the twisted polymer actuators.An optimal bias angle and operating temperature are identified to maximize the recovered torque.Analysis of strain and stress distributions in the cross-section of the twisted polymer fiber shows that the outer layers of the fiber predominantly contribute to the torsional actuation.This work aids in the precise control and structural optimization of the thermally-activated twisted polymer actuators.展开更多

Ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)in wastewater accumulated through the ecological chain and could jeopardize human health.Adsorption of Ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)from wastewater using recovered perlite was an important way to solve the prob...Ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)in wastewater accumulated through the ecological chain and could jeopardize human health.Adsorption of Ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)from wastewater using recovered perlite was an important way to solve the problem of resource utilization of solid waste from agar production.Our previous study confirmed that recovered perlite from agar extraction residue had better pore size and specific surface area than commercial perlite.However,the adsorption efficiency and adsorption mechanism of recovered perlite were the main factors limiting its adsorption application.The adsorption process of Ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)by recovered perlite in aqueous solution was described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic equation,and the relevant adsorption mechanism was mainly chemisorption.Compared with commercial perlite,the adsorption removal rate of Ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)by enzymatic recovered perlite could reach 92.9%and 89.2%,respectively,and were improved by 12.63%and 13.03%.Langmuir isothermal adsorption model could better describe the isothermal adsorption process of recovered perlite on heavy metal Ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+),and the relevant adsorption mechanism was mainly monolayer adsorption.The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results indicated that the decrease of Si—O Si^(2+)hydroxyl coordination bond and the increase of C—Si bond might make the binding effect of recovered perlite with heavy metals stronger.The competitive adsorption of Ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)by recovered perlite was still dominated by chemisorption and monolayer adsorption.This study was expected to provide a theoretical basis and technical support for the removal of Ni^(2+)and Cd^(2+)from wastewater using recovered perlite from seaweed residue.展开更多
Recovering valuable metals from spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)for high value-added application is beneficial for global energy cycling and environmental protection.In this work,we obtain the high-performance N-dope...Recovering valuable metals from spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)for high value-added application is beneficial for global energy cycling and environmental protection.In this work,we obtain the high-performance N-doped Ni-Co-Mn(N-NCM)electrocatalyst from waste LIBs,for robust oxygen evolution application.Lithium-rich solution and NCM oxides are effectively separated from ternary cathode materials by sulfation roasting and low-temperature water leaching approach,in which the recovery efficiency of Li metal reaches nearly 100%.By facile NH_(3)treatment,the incorporation of N into NCM significantly increases the ratio of low-valence state Co^(2+)and Mn^(2+),and the formed Mn-N bond benefits the surface catalytic kinetics.Meanwhile,the N doping induces lattice expansion of the NCM,triggering tensile stress to favor the adsorption of the reactant.Thus,the optimized N-NCM electrocatalyst exhibits the superior overpotentials of 256 and 453 mV to achieve the current density of 10 and 100 mA/cm^(2),respectively,with a low Tafel slope of 37.3 mV/dec.This work provides a fresh avenue for recycling spent LIBs in the future to achieve sustainable development.展开更多

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of soil [i.e., Creldon silt loam (Oxyaquic Fragiudalf) and Calloway silt loam (Aquic Fraglossudalf) series], fertilizer-P source [i.e., synthetically produced electrochemically precipitated struvite (ECSTsyn), real-wastewater-derived ECST (ECSTreal), chemically precipitated struvite (CPST), monoammonium phosphate (MAP), and an unamended control (UC)], and irrigation water type (i.e., tapwater and struvite-removed wastewater) on corn (Zea mays L.) and soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] growth and N, P, and magnesium (Mg) uptake in a 60-day, greenhouse potted-plant study. Crop growth and N, P, and Mg uptakes for the struvite treatments (i.e., CPST, ECSTsyn, and ECSTreal) were generally similar to or at least 1.2 times greater than MAP. The ECSTsyn material commonly had up to five times greater N, P, and Mg uptake in corn and soybean than any other fertilizer-P source. Struvite-removed wastewater resulted in at least 1.3 times lower dry matter and N, P, and Mg uptake than tapwater. Similar corn and soybean results from the struvite fertilizers among the various soil-water type combinations compared to MAP suggest that struvite generates similar crop responses as at least one widely used, commercially available, multi-nutrient fertilizer-P source.展开更多

And then, the probability of action of recovering from erroneous driving condition has been measured based on a revised decision tree. The measure process uses a combination of test data and subjective judgments of driving behavior. The study aims at exploring the possibility of using the recovery ability af- ter drought stress-rewatering at vegetative growth stage as the evaluating index in water use efficiency (WUE) of winter wheat varieties....The study aims at exploring the possibility of using the recovery ability af- ter drought stress-rewatering at vegetative growth stage as the evaluating index in water use efficiency (WUE) of winter wheat varieties. 'Jing 411 ', 'Jinmai 47' and their 34 near isogenic lines (NILs) were used as test materials. Semi-automatic rainproof shelter and the percolating pools were used for simulating drought treat- ment. After suffering severe drought stress, winter wheat crops were rewatered at early jointing stage. The biomass accumulation after rewatering was determined as recovery ability index. In the meanwhile, plant height in the end of vegetative growth stage was measured, and WUE of varieties/lines was also determined. Thereafter, the differences in recovery ability, plant height and the population WUE, together with the correlation between recovery ability and population WUE were analyzed, respectively. The results showed that there were significant differences in recovery ability among some varieties/lines. The recovery ability was affected by both geno- type and environment, and the interaction existed in these two factors. Significant differences existed in plant height and population WUE among the 34 NILs along with their parents. There was a significantly positive correlation between recovery ability and plant height of varieties/lines. Recovery ability and plant height were very significantly and positively correlated with population yield WUE respectively. The re- sults indicated that recovery ability after drought stress-rewatering could be used as an evaluating index of population WUE under drought condition.展开更多

The comparative experiment of tobacco leaf curing was conducted between a bulk curing barn with waste heat of flue gas and conventional bulk curing barn. The results showed that the effect of saving coal in bulk curing barn with waste heat of flue gas was obvious than the contrast. The coal consumption quantity was 1.531 kg per kg of dry tobacco leaf. The saving coal in bulk curing barn with use waste heat of flue gas was 0.181 kg per kg of dry tobacco leaf than the contrast and saving coal rate was 10.57%. The electricity consumption quantity was 0.593 kWh per kg of dry tobacco leaf. The saving elec- tricity quantity in bulk curing barn with use waste heat of flue gas was 0.022 kWh/kg and the saving electricity rate was 3.58% than the contrast. The saving curing cost was 0.158 yuan per kg of dry tobacco leaf and saving cost rate 9.09% in bulk cur- ing barn with use waste heat of flue gas than the contrast. The appearance quality, grade structure and primary chemical composition had no significant difference be- tween bulk curing barn with use waste heat of flue gas and the contrast.展开更多
Identifying influential nodes in complex networks is one of the most significant and challenging issues,which may contribute to optimizing the network structure,controlling the process of epidemic spreading and accele...Identifying influential nodes in complex networks is one of the most significant and challenging issues,which may contribute to optimizing the network structure,controlling the process of epidemic spreading and accelerating information diffusion.The node importance ranking measures based on global information are not suitable for large-scale networks due to their high computational complexity.Moreover,they do not take into account the impact of network topology evolution over time,resulting in limitations in some applications.Based on local information of networks,a local clustering H-index(LCH)centrality measure is proposed,which considers neighborhood topology,the quantity and quality of neighbor nodes simultaneously.The proposed measure only needs the information of first-order and second-order neighbor nodes of networks,thus it has nearly linear time complexity and can be applicable to large-scale networks.In order to test the proposed measure,we adopt the susceptible-infected-recovered(SIR)and susceptible-infected(SI)models to simulate the spreading process.A series of experimental results on eight real-world networks illustrate that the proposed LCH can identify and rank influential nodes more accurately than several classical and state-of-the-art measures.展开更多

Objective:Studies have shown that docosahexaenoic acid(DHA)has a beneficial effect in the treatment of spinal cord injury.A meta-analysis was used to study the effect of DHA on the neurological recovery in the rat spi...Objective:Studies have shown that docosahexaenoic acid(DHA)has a beneficial effect in the treatment of spinal cord injury.A meta-analysis was used to study the effect of DHA on the neurological recovery in the rat spinal cord injury model,and the relationship between the recovery of motor function after spinal cord injury and the time and method of administration and the dose of DHA.Data source:Published studies on the effect of DHA on spinal cord injury animal models from seven databases were searched from their inception to January 2019,including PubMed,MEDLINE,EMBASE,the China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang,VIP,and SinoMed databases.The search terms included“spinal cord injury”“docosahexaenoic acid”,and“rats”.Data selection:Studies that evaluated the influence of DHA in rat models of spinal cord injury for locomotor functional recovery were included.The intervention group included any form of DHA treatment and the control group included treatment with normal saline,vehicle solution or no treatment.The Systematic Review Centre for Laboratory animal Experimentation’s risk of bias assessment tool was used for the quality assessment of the included studies.Literature inclusion,quality evaluation and data extraction were performed by two researchers.Meta-analysis was then conducted on all studies that met the inclusion criteria.Statistical analysis was performed on the data using RevMan 5.1.2.software.Outcome measures:The primary outcome measure was the score on the Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan scale.Secondary outcome measures were the sloping plate test,balance beam test,stair test and grid exploration test.Results:A total of 12 related studies were included,3 of which were of higher quality and the remaining 9 were of lower quality.The highest mean Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan scale score occurred at 42 days after DHA treatment in spinal cord injury rats.At 21 days after treatment,the mean difference in Basso,Beattie,Bresnahan scores between the DHA group and the control group was the most significant(pooled MD=4.14;95%CI=3.58–4.70;P<0.00001).In the subgroup analysis,improvement in the Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan scale score was more significant in rats administered DHA intravenously(pooled MD=2.74;95%CI=1.41–4.07;P<0.0001)and subcutaneously(pooled MD=2.99;95%CI=2.29–3.69;P<0.00001)than in the groups administered DHA orally(pooled MD=3.04;95%CI=–1.01 to 7.09;P=0.14).Intravenous injection of DHA at 250 nmol/kg(pooled MD=2.94;95%CI=2.47–3.41;P<0.00001]and 1000 nmol/kg[pooled MD=3.60;95%CI=2.66–4.54;P<0.00001)significantly improved the Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan scale score in rats and promoted the recovery of motor function.Conclusion:DHA can promote motor functional recovery after spinal cord injury in rats.The administration of DHA by intravenous or subcutaneous injection is more effective than oral administration of DHA.Intravenous injection of DHA at doses of 250 nmol/kg or 1000 nmol/kg is beneficial.Because of the small number and the low quality of the included studies,more high-quality research is needed in future to substantiate the results.展开更多

The changes after treatment were ob-served chiefly by electromyography while sensory and motor improvement were also re-corded as auxiliary indicators. The therapeutic results in the acupuncture group were 5 cases cured, 26 markedly effective, 19 unproved, and 4 cases failed, a total effective rate of 92.6% in contrast to the 55.6% for the controls. Analysis of the therapeutic results showed that 1) those in the acupuncture group were significantly better than in the control group; 2) nerve injuries should be treated as early as possible; 3) the radial nerve and the common peroneal nerve recovered faster than others; 4) cases not surgically explored recovered faster than those that were, and 5) patients with prompt propagation of the needling sensation recovered significantly faster than those with slow propagation.展开更多

'Jing 411 ', 'Jinmai 47' and their 34 near isogenic lines (NILs) were used as test materials. Semi-automatic rainproof shelter and the percolating pools were used for simulating drought treat- ment. After suffering severe drought stress, winter wheat crops were rewatered at early jointing stage. The biomass accumulation after rewatering was determined as recovery ability index. In the meanwhile, plant height in the end of vegetative growth stage was measured, and WUE of varieties/lines was also determined. Thereafter, the differences in recovery ability, plant height and the population WUE, together with the correlation between recovery ability and population WUE were analyzed, respectively. The results showed that there were significant differences in recovery ability among some varieties/lines. The recovery ability was affected by both geno- type and environment, and the interaction existed in these two factors. Significant differences existed in plant height and population WUE among the 34 NILs along with their parents. There was a significantly positive correlation between recovery ability and plant height of varieties/lines. Recovery ability and plant height were very significantly and positively correlated with population yield WUE respectively. The re- sults indicated that recovery ability after drought stress-rewatering could be used as an evaluating index of population WUE under drought condition.

文摘In order to realize tobacco curing with energy saving and emission reduc- ing and lower cost, the waste heat recovering equipment was designed and built on blowing-upward type bulk curing barn. The comparative experiment of tobacco leaf curing was conducted between a bulk curing barn with waste heat of flue gas and conventional bulk curing barn. The results showed that the effect of saving coal in bulk curing barn with waste heat of flue gas was obvious than the contrast. The coal consumption quantity was 1.531 kg per kg of dry tobacco leaf. The saving coal in bulk curing barn with use waste heat of flue gas was 0.181 kg per kg of dry tobacco leaf than the contrast and saving coal rate was 10.57%. The electricity consumption quantity was 0.593 kWh per kg of dry tobacco leaf. The saving elec- tricity quantity in bulk curing barn with use waste heat of flue gas was 0.022 kWh/kg and the saving electricity rate was 3.58% than the contrast. The saving curing cost was 0.158 yuan per kg of dry tobacco leaf and saving cost rate 9.09% in bulk cur- ing barn with use waste heat of flue gas than the contrast. The appearance quality, grade structure and primary chemical composition had no significant difference be- tween bulk curing barn with use waste heat of flue gas and the contrast.

文摘Identifying influential nodes in complex networks is one of the most significant and challenging issues,which may contribute to optimizing the network structure,controlling the process of epidemic spreading and accelerating information diffusion.The node importance ranking measures based on global information are not suitable for large-scale networks due to their high computational complexity.Moreover,they do not take into account the impact of network topology evolution over time,resulting in limitations in some applications.Based on local information of networks,a local clustering H-index(LCH)centrality measure is proposed,which considers neighborhood topology,the quantity and quality of neighbor nodes simultaneously.The proposed measure only needs the information of first-order and second-order neighbor nodes of networks,thus it has nearly linear time complexity and can be applicable to large-scale networks.In order to test the proposed measure,we adopt the susceptible-infected-recovered(SIR)and susceptible-infected(SI)models to simulate the spreading process.A series of experimental results on eight real-world networks illustrate that the proposed LCH can identify and rank influential nodes more accurately than several classical and state-of-the-art measures.

文摘Objective:Studies have shown that docosahexaenoic acid(DHA)has a beneficial effect in the treatment of spinal cord injury.A meta-analysis was used to study the effect of DHA on the neurological recovery in the rat spinal cord injury model,and the relationship between the recovery of motor function after spinal cord injury and the time and method of administration and the dose of DHA.Data source:Published studies on the effect of DHA on spinal cord injury animal models from seven databases were searched from their inception to January 2019,including PubMed,MEDLINE,EMBASE,the China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang,VIP,and SinoMed databases.The search terms included“spinal cord injury”“docosahexaenoic acid”,and“rats”.Data selection:Studies that evaluated the influence of DHA in rat models of spinal cord injury for locomotor functional recovery were included.The intervention group included any form of DHA treatment and the control group included treatment with normal saline,vehicle solution or no treatment.The Systematic Review Centre for Laboratory animal Experimentation’s risk of bias assessment tool was used for the quality assessment of the included studies.Literature inclusion,quality evaluation and data extraction were performed by two researchers.Meta-analysis was then conducted on all studies that met the inclusion criteria.Statistical analysis was performed on the data using RevMan 5.1.2.software.Outcome measures:The primary outcome measure was the score on the Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan scale.Secondary outcome measures were the sloping plate test,balance beam test,stair test and grid exploration test.Results:A total of 12 related studies were included,3 of which were of higher quality and the remaining 9 were of lower quality.The highest mean Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan scale score occurred at 42 days after DHA treatment in spinal cord injury rats.At 21 days after treatment,the mean difference in Basso,Beattie,Bresnahan scores between the DHA group and the control group was the most significant(pooled MD=4.14;95%CI=3.58–4.70;P<0.00001).In the subgroup analysis,improvement in the Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan scale score was more significant in rats administered DHA intravenously(pooled MD=2.74;95%CI=1.41–4.07;P<0.0001)and subcutaneously(pooled MD=2.99;95%CI=2.29–3.69;P<0.00001)than in the groups administered DHA orally(pooled MD=3.04;95%CI=–1.01 to 7.09;P=0.14).Intravenous injection of DHA at 250 nmol/kg(pooled MD=2.94;95%CI=2.47–3.41;P<0.00001]and 1000 nmol/kg[pooled MD=3.60;95%CI=2.66–4.54;P<0.00001)significantly improved the Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan scale score in rats and promoted the recovery of motor function.Conclusion:DHA can promote motor functional recovery after spinal cord injury in rats.The administration of DHA by intravenous or subcutaneous injection is more effective than oral administration of DHA.Intravenous injection of DHA at doses of 250 nmol/kg or 1000 nmol/kg is beneficial.Because of the small number and the low quality of the included studies,more high-quality research is needed in future to substantiate the results.
文摘54 cases of peripheral nerve injury were treated by electric acupuncture and compared with 54 control cases treated with supportive medication. The changes after treatment were ob-served chiefly by electromyography while sensory and motor improvement were also re-corded as auxiliary indicators. The therapeutic results in the acupuncture group were 5 cases cured, 26 markedly effective, 19 unproved, and 4 cases failed, a total effective rate of 92.6% in contrast to the 55.6% for the controls. Analysis of the therapeutic results showed that 1) those in the acupuncture group were significantly better than in the control group; 2) nerve injuries should be treated as early as possible; 3) the radial nerve and the common peroneal nerve recovered faster than others; 4) cases not surgically explored recovered faster than those that were, and 5) patients with prompt propagation of the needling sensation recovered significantly faster than those with slow propagation.
