English reading proficiency is essential for university students in a globalized academic environment,yet many L2 learners encounter challenges,such as limited vocabulary,complex syntax,and unclear text organization,l...English reading proficiency is essential for university students in a globalized academic environment,yet many L2 learners encounter challenges,such as limited vocabulary,complex syntax,and unclear text organization,leading to cognitive overload.Grounded in the Cognitive Load Theory(CLT),this study examines the role of the Chunking Reading Processing Strategy-which integrates fragmented linguistic information into meaningful units at lexical,syntactic,and discourse levels-in alleviating cognitive load and improving reading comprehension.Through a mixed-methods approach,the research investigates how learners at different proficiency levels perceive and apply the chunking strategy,and how such application relates to cognitive load management.The results indicate that higher-proficiency learners employ chunking more frequently and report greater benefits,whereas lower-proficiency learners depend more on instructional support.The study confirms the theoretical and pedagogical value of chunk-based reading instruction and suggests that differentiated,cognitively informed teaching of the chunking strategy can enhance both reading efficiency and strategic awareness among L2 learners.展开更多

The accuracy of genomic annotation is crucial for subsequent functional investigations;however,computational protocols used in high-throughput annotation of open reading frames(ORFs)can introduce inconsistencies.These...The accuracy of genomic annotation is crucial for subsequent functional investigations;however,computational protocols used in high-throughput annotation of open reading frames(ORFs)can introduce inconsistencies.These inconsistencies,which lead to non-uniform extension or truncation of sequence ends,pose challenges for downstream analyses.Existing strategies to rectify these inconsistencies are time-consuming and labor-intensive,lacking specific approaches.To address this gap,we developed to GC,a tool that integrates genomic annotation with RNA-seq datasets to rectify annotation inconsistencies.Using to GC,we achieved an accuracy of nearly 100%accuracy in correcting inconsistencies in published Phytophthora sojae ORFs.We applied this innovative pipeline to the GPCR-bigrams gene family,which was predicted to have 42 members in the P.sojae genome but lacked experimental validation.By employing to GC,we identified 32 GPCR-bigram ORFs with inconsistencies between previous annotations and to GC-corrected sequences.Notably,among these were 5 genes(GPCR-TKL9,GPCR-TKL15,GPCR-PDE3,GPCR-AC3,and GPCR-AC4)showed substantial inconsistencies.Experimental gene annotation confirmed the effectiveness of to GC,as sequences obtained through cloning matched those annotated by to GC.Importantly,we discovered two novel GPCRs(GPCR-AC3 and GPCR-AC4),which were previously mispredicted as a single gene.CRISPR/Cas9-mediated knockout experiments revealed the involvement of GPCR-AC4 but not GPCR-AC3 in oospore production,further confirming their status as two separate genes.In addition to P.sojae,the reliability of the to GC pipeline in Phytophthora capsici and Pythium ultimum further emphasizes the robustness of this pipeline.Our findings highlight the utility of to GC for reliable gene model correction,facilitating investigations into biological functions and offering potential applications in diverse species analyses.展开更多

In this data explosion era,ensuring the secure storage,access,and transmission of information is imperative,encom-passing all aspects ranging from safeguarding personal devices to formulating national information secu...In this data explosion era,ensuring the secure storage,access,and transmission of information is imperative,encom-passing all aspects ranging from safeguarding personal devices to formulating national information security strategies.Leverag-ing the potential offered by dual-type carriers for transportation and employing optical modulation techniques to develop high reconfigurable ambipolar optoelectronic transistors enables effective implementation of information destruction after read-ing,thereby guaranteeing data security.In this study,a reconfigurable ambipolar optoelectronic synaptic transistor based on poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT)and poly[[N,N-bis(2-octyldodecyl)-napthalene-1,4,5,8-bis(dicarboximide)-2,6-diyl]-alt-5,5′-(2,2′-bithiophene)](N2200)blend film was fabricated through solution-processed method.The resulting transistor exhib-ited a relatively large ON/OFF ratio of 10^(3) in both n-and p-type regions,and tunable photoconductivity after light illumination,particularly with green light.The photo-generated carriers could be effectively trapped under the gate bias,indicating its poten-tial application in mimicking synaptic behaviors.Furthermore,the synaptic plasticity,including volatile/non-volatile and excita-tory/inhibitory characteristics,could be finely modulated by electrical and optical stimuli.These optoelectronic reconfigurable properties enable the realization of information light assisted burn after reading.This study not only offers valuable insights for the advancement of high-performance ambipolar organic optoelectronic synaptic transistors but also presents innovative ideas for the future information security access systems.展开更多
Electromagnetic technology used in logging while drilling(LWD) provides the resistivity distribution around a borehole within a range of several tens of meters.However,a blind zone appears in front of the drill bit wh...Electromagnetic technology used in logging while drilling(LWD) provides the resistivity distribution around a borehole within a range of several tens of meters.However,a blind zone appears in front of the drill bit when operating in high-angle wells,limiting the ability to detect formations ahead of the drill bit.Look-ahead technology addresses this issue and substantially enhances the proactive capability of geological directional drilling.In this study,we examine the detection capabilities of various component combinations of magnetic dipole antenna.Based on the sensitivity of each component to the axial information,a coaxial component is selected as a boundary indicator.We investigate the impact of various factors,such as frequency and transmitter and receiver(TR) distance,under different geological models.This study proposes 5 and 20 kHz as appropriate frequencies,and 10-14 and 12-17 m as suitable TR distance combinations.The accuracy of the numerical calculation results is verified via air-sea testing,confirming the instrument's detection capability.A test model that eliminated the influence of environmental factors and seawater depth is developed.The results have demonstrated that the tool can recognize the interface between layers up to 21.6 m ahead.It provides a validation idea for the design of new instruments as well as the validation of detection capabilities.展开更多
