With the support of ArcGIS 9.3, GeoDA 095 and SPSS 16, by adopting Jenks best breakpoint classification and spatial autocorrelation analysis, quantitative analysis and research have been conducted on the spatial differentiation of rurality of Jiangsu Province. The results show that the rural difference of Jiangsu Province based on county scale is not remarkable, and the area with strong rurality takes a larger proportion; rurality increases from South Jiangsu to North Jiangsu progressively; rurality concentrates in general, seven counties and cities including Jiangyin and Kunshan City are "cold points" while seven counties and cities including Guanyun and Funing City are "hot points" of rurality.展开更多

This paper examines the development in the Swedish rural areas from the perspective of the "new rurality" or the new rural economic order with regard to migratory movements. The paper analyzes determinants of net migration to rural areas in general and to different types of regions, and the impacts of in-migration on rural labor markets, self-employment and other socio-economic conditions. The determinants of the migration pattern were mainly the size of adjacent local and regional centers, income and education levels that all had positive impacts, while commuting distance and unemployment rate had contrary effects. In comparison with the original inhabitants, the newcomers had lower incomes, a lower employment ratio and a lower degree of entrepreneurial activities, but higher education levels. These differences might be explained by the age differences between stayers (older) and in-migrants (younger). This indicates that the two groups were in different stages of their life cycles. One central conclusion drawn from the paper is that the effect of in-migration on the composition of the rural population is about the same in rural areas all over Sweden.展开更多

文摘The mountainous rural regions of China are undergoing enormous changes in space and time.To a certain extent, this change has increased the difficulties in our understanding of rural development in mountainous areas and brought challenges to development policies and revitalization strategies in mountainous rural regions, especially in karst mountainous areas. In light of the difficulty in and as the key to the development of China's mountainous rural areas, the scientific and systematic construction of indicators for evaluating the level of rural revitalization development and clarifying the level of rural revitalization development and influential factors in karst mountainous areas are of great significance to the implementation of the development of the strategy for the revitalization of the rural areas in karst mountainous areas in China. This study constructed an evaluation index system of the rural regional system and rural revitalization development(RTSRD)from the perspective of rural regional system theory, assessed the spatial differentiation patterns and influential factors of RTSRD,and refined a typical territorial model of rural revitalization development in karst mountainous areas by taking Guizhou Province,a typical karst mountainous region,as a case study area. The evaluation and spatial analyses show that the RTSRD indices of karst mountainous areas in the system perspective show a linear growth trend in all single dimensions, with industrial revitalization(IR)showing the most significant increase each year.In time, the RTSRD of karst mountainous regions has developed from low to high, with evident improvement;spatially, the RTSRD shows the characteristics of‘high in the middle and low in the surroundings, and low in the plateau and low in the depression,'with apparent spatial heterogeneity. In addition, this study found that the spatial and temporal differences in RTSRD result from a combination of endogenous push and exogenous pull in the rural system. In particular, this study has refined a typical regional model of rural revitalization development in karst mountainous regions, which provides theoretical support and case practice for rural development in other karst mountainous regions. At the same time,it provides a basis for decision-making for the county level government and rural development planning.

文摘Since the new era in China, the long-term traditional rural development path, characterized by the“pollute first, treat later”model, has proven insufficient to meet the needs of sustainable development. The growing contradiction between rural economic development and ecological environmental degradation urgently needs to be addressed.Under the guidance of the Party and the state, there is a strong emphasis on green rural development, making the transformation of the rural green development path imperative. This paper takes rural ecological development as the research basis and innovatively integrates the“educational research”model, aiming to provide practical strategies for the sustainable development of abandoned mine rural landscapes.Taking Datukuang in Xinhe Village,Dadukou District,Chongqing as an example, this project breaks through the technical path dependence of traditional engineering restoration, creatively implants research function modules such as natural education, geological science popularization, and ecological experience, transforming the abandoned mine pit into a composite ecological education demonstration base integrating environmental restoration, science popularization education, and cultural tourism experience. It has opened up a new paradigm for rural revitalization with“mine restoration+research economy”,providing an innovative practice sample for solving the transformation dilemma of resource-based villages.
文摘The marketization of rural land factors is the fundamental solution to deepening rural reform and revitalizing rural development.Drawing on the theory of marketization of rural land factors, this paper examines its beneficial impact on promoting rural revitalization and identifies the existing bottlenecks that hinder the progress of land marketization.Furthermore,it proposes policy recommendations aimed at enhancing the property rights system, establishing robust transaction mechanisms, and innovating land use models to activate rural land resources and advance comprehensive rural revitalization.
文摘Diabetes affects an estimated 828 million people globally, with approximately 44%living in China and India.Rural residents with diabetes in these countries face significant challenges in access to care.Although digital health interventions are increasingly used to reach underserved populations, considerable knowledge gaps exist. This mini-review presents the first comparative analysis of digital health implementations for diabetes care in rural China and India, comprising clinical decision support tools, telemedicine, and mobile health applications. The review examines how their distinct health system structures influence technology adoption and clinical outcomes.China's hierarchical administrative structure facilitates standardized nationwide platforms with consistent protocols, while India's federal system enables diverse localized innovations that accommodate regional diversity.Cluster-randomized trials for digital health tools in rural China show significant improvements in glycemic control. In India, interventions examined in this review were associated with improved health behaviors and medication adherence. Both countries demonstrate that digital interventions leveraging existing social structures and co-created with stakeholders yield better outcomes than standard care approaches. This analysis provides actionable insights for policymakers globally while identifying valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange between these two nations that together are home to nearly half of all people living with diabetes worldwide.

文摘Rural resilience,a core capability for addressing systemic risks and enabling sustainable development,is increasingly vital to promoting urban-rural integrated development and rural revitalization strategies. However, current research lacks exploration of the collaborative mechanisms between rural economic resilience(RER)and rural social resilience(RSR)in ecologically vulnerable areas.Based on the practical context of rural sustainable development in such regions, this study investigates the interaction between RER and RSR from a resilience coordination perspective. In this paper,a rural resilience evaluation framework for collaborative development of economic and social resilience was established.By employing the coupling coordination degree model, obstacle degree model, and equilibrium entropy model, this paper examines the synergies, constraints, and potential of rural resilience subsystems in Jinchang City,Gansu Province,China,in 2020.The results reveal that:1)RER contributes to RSR by stabilizing the economy, enhancing community adaptability, and driving modernization. In turn,RSR strengthens RER by mitigating instability, building social capital, and fostering confidence—together forming a mutually reinforcing coupling mechanism.2)The rural economic and social resilience level in Jinchang City remains generally low with spatially clustered patterns, while the coupling coordination degree is at an intermediate level overall, with 62.59%of villages exhibiting unbalanced development between rural economic and social resilience.3)RER and RSR demonstrate synergistic degradation in ecologically vulnerable areas, where low-level rural economic and social resilience induce integrated systemic deterioration.4)Considering the unbalanced development of rural economic and social resilience in ecologically fragile areas, differentiated coordination pathways are proposed for three village typologies:RER-lagging villages,RSR-lagging villages, and villages where RER and RSR develop synchronously but lack effective coordination. These findings offer spatial governance strategies and practical guidance for enhancing rural resilience and advancing sustainable development in ecologically vulnerable regions.
